15 Must-Try Burgers in Philly

"With “burger” right in the name, Burgertime in Audobon, NJ is a pretty great option for anyone seeking a beef patty between a bun. The options at Burgertime are seemingly endless, from the Pepperjawni Pizza Burger (with pepperoni, of course) to the Backyard BBQ burger made with baked beans and a hot dog on top. For real." - Ernest Owens

The Essential Restaurants in and Around Collingswood, New Jersey

"With its neon signs, pixellated typeface, and otherwise retro aesthetic, Burger Time feels like an ’80s arcade — makes sense, since chef Dane DeMarco’s place is inspired by the classic video game BurgerTime. The menu is just as playful, with imaginative takes on burgers, hot dogs, and tater tots that would’ve made your mom shout, “Stop playing with your food!” Smash patties get stacked high with bacon, baked beans, or even potato chips — a callback to the aspiring home chefs who knew the power of added crunch on a sandwich. Hot dogs come on a bun with SpaghettiOs or peanut butter and crunchy Fritos, and there’s always a new dog of the month to try." - Kae Lani Palmisano, Brian Kelly

Today is BurgerTime in Audubon first birthday! Get down there for the celebration and enjoy an array of specialty dogs themed from different local establishments. I had to apologize to Chef Dane DeMarco for taking so long to visit. It was an absolute pleasure meeting and talking to you! I got the Feeding Time TV dog as I was meeting my good pal Dave Wez, who helped come up with it. Delicious $4 dog and the kimchi were just awesome! I also got the pork roll cheesesteak, which caught my eye the first time I saw their menu. Good seeded roll, crispy thinly sliced chopped pork roll, perfect amount of melted cheese on the bottom, and what really made it for me was the cherry pepper relish. Love the sweet heat of the peppers on top of all that salty savory deliciousness. I highly recommend making it out there today to try some of these local restaurant themed hot dogs, but if you can't make it today, don't be like me and wait until their next birthday!

I've moved to Jersey and I heard this place was down the road from where I'm at now. I'm never one to get a burger from Burger joints. I have a poor track record. But this place has turned my entire fortune around. This is the most fun I've ever had with a menu. I want to eat all of it. It was really challenging to pick the things I NEEDED to eat. The things I needed to eat include the Spaghettio Hot Dog, The Pickleback, Beast Tots, Pork Roll Cheesesteak, and the fried Krimpets. Everything was incredible and you're thinking, "Kurt this looks ridiculous" and my response will be "Ridiculously playful, fun, tasty, and passionate." There's a level of energy in this place because you can feel the chef oozing passion, vision, and confidence in what they are making. They are dishing out vibes. They are friendly folks and you need to pay them a visit. I will be returning because there are at least 5 other things I need to try. Please swing by and enjoy the energy that changed my mood, and reignited my joy for doing this.

I had a good experience at Burger Time. Walked in and ordered. They were pretty busy but still acknowledged me when I walked in. I ordered a pickleback burger and a Coney chili dog to go. I got my food fast and it was delicious toasted rolls and good size portions. I will definitely go back to try all the other unique food on their menu.

I'd give 6 stars if I could. As a meaten, married to a vegan, we are limited in where we can eat together. This place rocks so much with vegan options on almost all menu items from burgers to dogs to vegan ranch sauce! My wife said "it's like the hot dog places when I was a teenager." we had pickle chips with vegan ranch sauce. I had the pickle back with pickles, bacon, and BBQ sauce. The wife had the dilli dilly with vegan hot dog, vegan bacon, and vegan cheez. I'm watching her lick the sauce off her fingers while I type. We will be back often, and can add Burgertime to the short list of "pick something up for dinner tonight. I don't wanna cook." Edit:been back two times. Added more pics😁

The food was great. It was a crazy busy night as they were participating in a fundraiser. That said, it took 1.5 hours to get our food, which I don't believe is the norm. I'll give it another go and make sure they aren't hosting an event. Food is worth it.

What do you say about one of the greatest Burger places in South Jersey??? How can you even craft words that describe how delicious and amazing their burgers (and other items) are??? They have plenty of amazing “pre-designed” Burgers like the “Pickle Back”, “After Skool Snax Burger”, “Backyard BBQ”, etc… but you can also design your own Burger 🍔 The Burger you see attached in the review is a custom Burger I designed! It’s a Double Patty Burger with Cheese, Bacon 🥓, BBQ Sauce, and fried pickles!! Sooooo good!! If you haven’t checked them out yet, you really need to give it a try! 🎉🎉🎉 You won’t regret it!! Also I love their friendly staff, such good people 🏆 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A buddy of mine saw a little story of this place on the local news and we decided to make the hour-long drive to try it (I don't mind driving for good food). I'm glad I did! We both got the "Brunch Burger", he got the single and I got the double. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had! The bun was perfectly toasted, crispy without being crunchy. The patties were proper smash burgers with a nice crust around the edges. For pork roll, instead of one thick slice that's hard to bite through, it was several thin slices. I think that made the flavor of the pork roll stand out more. The egg was PERFECTLY cooked, with a large unpopped yolk. I believe the "hash browns" were smashed and grilled tater tots with a nice crisp to them. There was also bacon (always good) and a good amount of fried onions. We finished our burgers and were definately left full, but we had also split an order of the tater tot potachos (potato-nachos), with taco sauce on top. To finish it off, we had to get an order of the fried krimpets. Nothing wasn't great! Even though it's an hour from me, I'll definately be stopping by again!
