Classics Never Die!
I haven't been here in years.....then randomly my parents and I decided to stop in for dinner. While it's probably never going to be a "go-to" for me food-wise.....this was a pleasant reminder of good time
Burgerville has started some amazing initiatives and been a real leader in using green compostable packaging, sponsoring community charity events, and taking the steps to use sustainable sourced ingredients for their food. All very commendable, and although you will pay more than a traditional fast food place, you know you're getting clean food, local produce, and environmentally friendly products. Luckily they have veggie friendly options for me with their anasazi bean burger patty, salads, and fries not cooked in beef tallow oil.
I went with the veggie burger and fries. While it tasted good, and had nice spicy chipotle mayo, it loses steam with the value. The bean patty is so much smaller than the bun buried under lettuce and tomato, there isn't much substance and that's a shame. There also seem to have eliminated their basket options, getting a burger, fries, and a drink for one price. Dropping $12 for all 3 is really pushing it and compared with many pubs and other full service restaurants where you could pay the same amount.......I feel there needs to be some better pricing options here. So there's where it loses a star for me. I'm fine paying for good quality food, but this is pushing it with a bean burger patty that small.
Overall this still a great place and they certainly have my respect for being a leader in their industry and I certainly hope you give them a try. I won't be a regular here, but I wouldn't dissuade you from being one!
