The last time I had Burgerville food was when a friend at work brought me back a cheeseburger and a shake (so good) about a month or so ago at work, but I hadn't eaten in at a Burgerville outlet until this morning for quite awhile. Ron was driving me to work this morning, and we like to stop for breakfast on weekends. We've both been on a diet, and the darned man has dropped 20 pounds and beloved by his doctor, and is fast on disappearing into someone I might not know if I ran into him on the street. Well, shoot, since I'm supposed to be supporting him in this diet deal, the 20-pound weight loss caught my attention.
His favorite diet meal at Burgerville is getting the breakfast burrito without the tortilla wrap. The actual presentation is of the sausage patty cut into strips on two scrambled eggs and some salsa topping. It is quite a filling amount of breakfast. The eggs were perfectly cooked in omelette style (I've got a bad attitude toward uncooked eggs), and the sausage patties were perfect. None of it was oily or greasy and also nicely presented. I ordered iced coffee, which they don't serve, but our charming hostess and I both saw the light bulbs snap on over our heads, and she gave me a big enough empty cup to fill with ice and then pour the hot coffee over the ice - voila iced coffee that was brewed from a good blend and brand.
Parking in their private lot was easy because it was 8 a.m. Indoors everything was nice and clean. Our breakfasts were brought to us quickly. While this is not a Portland hot spot for brunch or anything, we had a really tasty and fairly healthy breakfast that was diet-worthy but not deprivational (I think I just made that word up). We talked and laughed so much that it was very fun and tasty. Every diet should be so easy!! Come and give it a whirl.
