How I heard of this place: Burgerville! Decades ago, on a trip to Portland for the State Championship of our high school basketball team, our carload of friends stopped by for lunch. Now, on most any trip to the area, we punctuate it with Burgerville.
Type of cuisine: Fast food burgers, fries and shakes.
Ambiance: A typical, plastic & laminate coated space, the brightness of the light outside streams through their large windows. Primary colors abound from floor to ceiling. Greeted by Bigfoot, waving a Burgerville! flag, we headed to the counter to place and pay for our orders before finding a spot in the cafe to have a seat. Our kids found the short stools and counter, perfect for their little heights, where we camped out as our order was prepared then delivered. Our cashier on this visit was so kind and gentle, friendly and helpful.
What I ordered: Chili Cheese Waffle Fries - a seasonal addition - to share, The Number 6 Burger for my husband - 1/3 Lb. Grass Fed, Grass Finished Carman Ranch Beef Patty, Face Rock Two-Year Aged White Cheddar, Mayo, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickles on a Grand Central Bakery Brioche Bun. And a Bacon Cheeseburger for myself - bacon, Tillamook® cheddar, mayo, red onions, pickles, tomato & lettuce. Our mostly vegetarian son chose the Bacon Burger with a Beyond Meat patty.
What I loved: The burgers are so satisfying! They are consistently good, the portion and size decent and the flavors reminiscent of all of the years we return.
Why I loved it: On this particular visit, the young, friendly, calm cashier/server made the experience for us.
Cost: Average ($10 per person for burger, fries and possibly a drink)
