"What is it that makes this place stand out? First, the location in a 12C castle above Nideggen, boasting a fantastic view! Second, the attractive interior: a historical little dining room with modern design features and wood panelling throughout creates an atmosphere that is all of its own. Last but not least, there is the cuisine. An abundance of ideas, energy and passion makes itself felt in the modern set menu created by eponymous chef-patrons Herbert Brockel (previously of Erftstadt's Michelin-starred Husarenquartier) and Tobias Schlimbach (who also has plenty of experience in Michelin-starred gastronomy). It goes without saying that the fantastic dishes are prepared using the finest produce. Great restaurant that's definitely worth a visit. We went to Brockel Schlimbach to experience good quality food with wine pairing. It's a cosy place with limited tables. Be willing to experience French food in a German setting, sit back and enjoy

We had high expectations for this Michelin restaurant! On arrival we were seated at the outside terrace as it was a very warm day. In the beginning the cook and his wife had time to talk and explain what they were serving, during the night the intervals between the dishes became longer and longer and we were served by different waitresses each dish. It was very noisy and loud at the terrace (a very loud party of 10 people dining in the Michelin area).. Lots of people arrived for a party in the biergarten area and contineously walking by our table One of the meat dishes was not to our liking, (beef liver and tongue), we informed the waitress but nothing was done with this feedback and no alternative was offered . We where puzzled by the fact that apparently the Michelin restaurant and the other (Kaiserblick) restaurant where being served by the same cook and staff…..when you have to pay almost 400 ,— euro for 2 persons, you expect a special evening and experience, not the feeling that you are sitting in a busy square at an average place., Food was great but very Disappointed on the total experience.

Absolutely recommend this lovely place, the food here is great. Unforgettable tender and juicy meat, please bring our honer to the chef! Nice cozy corner we had and wish to sit near the window for a better view but overall we are very satisfied.
