I went here for a date night and it was amazing!! I got the Glencoe burger and it was delicious, my fav part was the bacon jam. the drinks were so good too! Our server, Virginia, was so great and she answered all of our questions about the menu.

Google
Stopped in for Sunday brunch. Glencoe burger + Cesar salad. And BLT with fries. Couple of beers to go with the food. Consistent service and good food. We come by often - the Korean chicken sandwich is the best!

I wanted this to be more than it was. First off I tried their Irish red beer and it was fantastic. But I also ordered a red wine and they said they wouldn’t bring it until my little 5oz sampler of the Irish beer was finished. Strange behavior there and not a fan. The food was hit and miss. Fried green tomatoes were good but I ordered the steak frites and while the presentation was good it lacked flavor and was very tough and a bit over cooked. And it was $38 which is absurd for that low quality. So come have the beer and stick to their bar food items.

BEER. Great cocktails, FANTASTIC food, solid prices. Support local business. This was the first restaurant we visited after moving here. Got here from Florida that place is a nightmare but the restaurant service is hard to beat. Now HERE? The service is 27/10. Cocktails are solid. Beer is solid. If you asked me, "what's the best thing they do?" The best thing they do is everything. I got the winter garden salad and the other person I bring here got the best pasta I've ever sampled. Seriously it's fantastic. They GARNISHED THE PLATE WITH HERB FLAKES. Beautiful stuff here. That's better care than my job's provided health insurance. Support local business

10/2025 Update: A few things have changed. There are still few choices for vegetarians, but my server suggested swapping tofu for the fish in the tacos. I tried this and it was quite good (picture included). For some reason they still cannot make crispy fries. But the beer and service were great. 5/2025 Update: Well, my friends and I agree that it's really hit-or-miss here. Sometimes the food is great, other times not so much. My last visit was disappointing with lousy service and mediocre food. The mushroom pasta ($18) has a few cherry tomatoes, a couple of pieces of spinach, and several slivers of mushrooms. (Picture attached; zoom in and see if you can find the mushrooms.) IMO expensive for what you get. The beer is always great, though.

Google
Good beer, decent food (not great) to accompany the beer. They have plenty of space for big groups and were very quick in getting the orders in. We had the hazy ipa and sour, would order again.

Matthew R.

Google
Beer was really solid, food was exactly as advertised and really high level. Mac and cheese not to cheesy if that makes sense. Simple yet delicious! Philly and fries really good! Service from Sincere was refreshing and appreciated!

Google
Went in for a late Sunday lunch and I cant explain how amazing our experience was!!! Staff were very friendly and the food...oh my gosh! Had the pretzel for an appetizer- hands down best for sure within 3 counties. Hubs and I split our entrees- Glencoe burger and the Smoke Show- hands down absolutely delicious! Hubs got the coffee stout and I got the Rose Colored Glasses (which was dangerous- I could've easily had 3-4 glasses). Customer service was on point! We're already trying to plan our next meals out! Go...run...just seriously worth it!

Caleb T.

Yelp
Delicious food and beers. The fries were particularly great with the spicy ketchup. Beautiful interior and a lovely second floor. All made for a perfect stop on our trip along the ale trail

Yelp
I want to update my review to a full 5-stars now. We have been back a few times because it's a bit out of the way for us and each time it's been great. The staff has gotten a handle on running a restaurant I think and I like the small but impactful changes they've made to the menu since my last review. The beer and drinks are top notch and I can't speak highly enough of the bartenders if you sit at the bar, they are friendly and super knowledgeable.

Yelp
Such a great place for brunch, dinner or wven lunch! The atmosphere here is great for a relaxing afternoon to spend with family or friends. The service is always attentive and quick. Food is made with local ingredients which makes everything on the menu 10x more appetizing. Everything on the menu sounds appetizing! This restaurant is located in a great area as well that allows you to explore downtown burlington.

Yelp
We recently met some friends in Burlington for a bite to eat and wanted to go somewhere for some drinks afterwards and wound up at Burlington Beer Works. I opted for the painkiller and my oh my was it tasty. The perfect sweet tropical cocktail to finish the night off with. Our service was great throughout the evening and was an overall great experience. The food menu looked quite tasty as well so we will be back to give it a try along with some other cocktails!

Yelp
We were so excited when we got home & opened our boxes. That Cobb Salad was gorgeous! The chicken was so tender & flavorful. Add in the egg, avocado and blue cheese - *Chef's kiss Friday special Fish & Chips were perfect. Haven't had fries that good in a while and the fish was cooked perfectly. He loved it! Thank you so much BBW, can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Me and some friends stopped by here one night for drinks and really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was nice and open. I started with a Sundance kid because I thought it sounded interesting. It was tequila, coconut, lime, jalapeño and vanilla. It was an interesting mix. It had kind of a spicy pina colada taste. I also got a Paloma which was very good as well! I'd like to come back and try some food next time.

Yelp
There's a downstairs and upstairs to the restaurant. It's relaxed and casual. They have a lot of beers and other drinks available. I got a flight to see which was my favorite. I'm partial to lighter, flavorful beers. My husband tried the stout. Our server was phenomenal. She was responsive and welcoming. I like that the menu was seasonal. My husband got the steak and frites. It was delicious. I was very disappointed by the fish tacos - so I took off a couple stars for that. I highly recommend chopping a cabbage head instead of using a bag mix. Carrots, kale, and fish tacos aren't it. I'm not sure if the side was elote or esquite - but you guys, you have to cook the corn. Even if it's from a can, cook it in a pan, then add the extras. The spinach artichoke dip - you know what, I'm putting back a star just because of it - was something I will forever crave. I believe the chips are made in house. It is sooo creamy and flavorful with a hint a spice. Just absolute perfection. Get it.

Yelp
Gotta love Beer Works. This is a favorite of mine because every month it's a different menu really or added variety. I usually come to this restaurant for breakfast/brunch because it's delicious. It's always friendly inside and outside eating is refreshing as well.

Yelp
Awesome turkey sandwich! The space is really cool in an old building downtown. The beers were solid. I tried an ipa and sampled a stout. Fast and kind service

Yelp
Looking for great food, incredible craft beer and and an amazing date night environment? Then look no further than Burlington Beer Works in the up and coming downtown Burlington. Come enjoy their ever changing menu curated by an amazing chef and with locally sourced ingredients! Couple that with service that will have you feeling like you're walking into Cheers from the Bartenders to the await staff. My personal favorite is the Korean Fried Chicken smothered in a Gochujang Sauce, Spicy Mayo and housemade Pickles is a true foodies dream!
google avatar

Yelp
I had the sweetest server and the tacos I ordered were AMAZING! I think it was a bit loud though and a little cramped feeling but otherwise really good experience.
google avatar

Caitlyn B.

Yelp
Love the indoor and outdoor seating options! Met the owner and she was so friendly! Amazing food can't wait to come back!

Anthony K.

Yelp
Good atmosphere. Groovy tunes. Chill bar area. Food is acceptable, especially for the price.
google avatar

Britney V.

Yelp
Great food and such a cute place in quaint downtown Burlington. Can't wait to go back!

Tina W.

Yelp
Poor experience. My sandwich had no meat at the ends - nothing but bread. The wine serving was so meager and one glass served to the table had a lot more wine in it than the other. French fries were cold and we had to send them back and wait for more. Asked for ketchup and literally got enough for 10 French fries in a little silver cup. Not at all a good experience or worth the money. Would be open to a do over but not at my own expense. Will not go back there.
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Service was fantastic! So friendly and helpful. The ambiance was clean and breezy, perfect for lingering over a good meal and a drink. I got the burrito bowl, from the brunch menu, which included home fries and scrambled eggs. It was unique and hearty. There were lots of other delicious looking menu items that I would love to go back and try. Definitely a good place to have a meal in downtown Burlington!

Yelp
Service could be better and less wait time but food is pretty good. A little pricey but you get a good amount of food

Yelp
I've always loved this place. I've been here a few times, so this review is for my overall experiences and they've always been great! Food, drinks, service, ambiance, all 10/10! Staff is always friendly and welcoming, the establishment is always clean, and the food is always good! Not much I can say but this will always be a go to spot when I'm in the area or just wanting a good chill spot for girls night or date night!
google avatar

Yelp
A friend and I stopped in today for lunch and we weren't disappointed. First off, patio spot - amazing! Plenty of tables to select from. We started with a flight and decided on the Mexican Lager and Apricot Blonde - both were light and refreshing. We ordered the charcuterie board and roasted Brussel sprouts. Delicious!! I cannot wait to come back to this cute spot in downtown Burlington!

Jason B.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming. Everything from the beer to the food and cocktails is prepared with gourmet excellence. The staff are really friendly and professional. It's also a local coop, so you're supporting the community when you visit!

Yelp
Oh, this place was awesome. The servers are super nice and beyond respectul. And the food? oh delicious! i definitely recommend their cheesesteak, while i only get it with cheese and steak, it's still so good!! I had to buy a second one to go! And the way the place looks, it's just so peaceful and it gives a person a nice calm feeling. like you can sit back and know that you're taken care of.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Not a fancy place, but the food is good and so is the beer. You have a good selection of both. Everyone who went with us was happy with their meal.

Yelp
Burlington Beer Works was a happening spot on a Saturday afternoon. There are about 8-10 tables inside, plus seats outside. The interior gives off a modern, warehouse kind of feel. They had 10-15 different beers, so I got a flight of four. The guy taking my order got confused at some point and (I think) thought I was talking about one beer but wasn't...so what I got was terrible. I'd say I enjoyed 2 of the 4. Their nitro coffee was very watery. The beer was just average. We didn't order food, but everything that came out looked delicious, especially the burgers.
google avatar

Chrissy A.

Yelp
I genuinely dislike leaving less than stellar reviews, but I want to be honest about my experience. We ordered smash burgers with fries, brussels sprouts, and pretzels with beer cheese and mustard. The pretzels were hard and dried out, as if they had been microwaved for too long, and we expected better beer cheese from a place that specializes in beer. The burgers were definitely not smash burgers, meaning they weren't smashed thin and didn't have crispy edges. I expected more/better flavor from a burger that has so much potential. The fries were decent, but we did have several that were fried to the point of being petrified and inedible. Lastly, the brussels sprouts were great!

Allyse M.

Yelp
Came here and management was absolutely terrible... I don't understand how management can talk down on customers so I could only imagine how they speak to their employees. Food was nothing to write home about. Will not be coming here ever again, plenty of other options arou
google avatar

Helen B.

Yelp
We truly loved the veggie sandwich we got here. And the beer. Gotta love it! In the sweetest part of old downtown, in the midst of shopping and other cool eateries, this beer co-op has it all. Kudos!
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
Less than mediocre food. Service isn't great. Ambiance is perfect for this type of business.

Yelp
Came in for lunch after a meeting at The Chill Spot and everything was good. They didn't have collards but our meal was still very enjoyable. We started with glasses of the Cabernet and the charcuterie. The charcuterie was presented very well and had two cheeses, three meats, pork rinds, mustard, olives, and pickled eggs. My friend got a burger and fries which he enjoyed. They have great hand cut style fries. I got the blue plate special which was catfish, Mac and cheese, and green beans. The green beans had a great flavor and were still crunchy. The catfish was salty and breaded just right. I really did enjoy the mac and cheese. The service was great our waiter checked on us frequently and other members of the team also stopped by our table and talked with us. Everyone was friendly and I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
Drove by this place a few times and decided to stop in for a burger. Liked mostly everything else about this place except the burger. The atmosphere was very nice. Sat upstairs and it was sunny, neat and clean. The service was wonderful at the upstairs bar and at our table. We got the Glencoe Burger and the Chicken and Egg on a biscuit with sausage gravy. We got the burger with fresh cut French Fries and Chicken and Egg came with home fries. The Chicken sandwich was GREAT. The French Fries were outstanding but the burger was a disappointment. The server said the burger was a smash burger but it was not like any other smash burgers that I have had before. I also wished the onions were more carmlalized like the description said. It was earlier on a Sunday and we were out late the night before so we didn't have any alcohol. If anyone in your group doesn't drink beer (like myself) it was a nice change to see that this brewery also serves liquor as well as beer. We will definitely come back to try some other dishes and my husband wants to try some beer.

Yelp
I struggled between 3 and 4 stars on this one, but the service was honestly 5 stars! Our waitress Jules was awesome. I ordered the cast iron spinach dip to start. The flavor of it was really good, lots of garlic and cheese. It didn't mention that it was spinach artichoke dip, however. I'm not a huge fan of artichokes, and I will say these were cooked very tender and better than usual for me, but I felt like it overwhelmed the spinach completely so I would've liked a lot more spinach. The flavor was nice though and the chips were good. I got the saison ale to drink and it was good. Some of my friends got cocktails and they had great presentation! On to the mains - I can't resist a smash burger so I went with the Glencoe. Sadly this just missed the mark for me. The menu describes it as a smash burger and it really didn't do that for me. It was a little too thick but it was also over cooked and kind of dry. Smash burgers have that juicy buttery flavor. I would either go thinner in a traditional smash burger style and add some butter and seasoning for added flavor, or go thicker for a traditional style patty. It just needed a little more seasoning and juiciness. All the bacon jam was in the middle so the outside was exceptionally flavorless, so I would definitely add more bacon jam. I couldn't really taste the caramelized onions or the aioli as well. The burger just needs more everything! The quality of ingredients was good but it needs to be reimagined. The fries were hand cut and very good. Ranch was homemade and enjoyable with the fries. I ended up dipping the burger in it too. My friends got the brunch burger and enjoyed it. I think I would try something different next time. As I mentioned, the service was fantastic. We had a large group and our server Jules was very sweet and attentive. Drinks were kept full and bar bevvies flowing. She did a fantastic job!!!

Yelp
Amazing servers, Amazing beer, Amazing food. Sat outside for our first time going, on a beautiful day. Had shade accommodated. I had the Kimchi Fried Chicken Sandwich, My boyfriend had the pimento grilled cheese sandwich with tomato & bacon & ohmygosh, amazing! our server also let me try a sample of a beer to make sure I liked it before I ordered. Which I appreciated. Will definitely be a returning customer!

Yelp
EXCELLENT!! Service is amazing! Hannah is the best! A++++ Food is outstanding and drinks are superb.

Yelp
BBW is a delightful place for brunch! I visited a couple weeks ago and had a wonderful time. To quote my friend who's been there several times: she's "never eaten something here she hasn't liked." Their brunch menu has several classics (e.g. egg in a hole, eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito, french toast). They also offer a fun selection of brunch cocktails, such as mimosas and aperol spritz. I ordered the biscuits and gravy - the Neese sausage in the gravy reminded me of Saturday morning breakfasts growing up, and the creamy gravy perfectly blanketed the fluffy biscuit. This was my first time eating this particular dish, and I was in love! I'll definitely return for brunch/evening drinks.
google avatar

Tatiana H.

Yelp
The waiter was really nice, so no complaints there. It's also a good location and a nice looking space but the food and drinks leave something to be desired. There was no frose, they were missing ingredients for the spicy margarita, the garbanzo burger was only okay, and the cheese on the nachos was grainy and bitter. The waiter said it's real cheese, beer cheese in fact, but it didn't taste good.
google avatar

Patricia D.

Yelp
Highly recommend visiting Burlington Beer Works for their AMAZING appetizers! They have a full bar available along with several beers and ciders in cans and on tap. The wait staff were pleasant and the establishment adhered to COVID precautions.

Charity P.

Yelp
One of our favorite places - excellent food and service - with a variety of tasty options! We love it!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by Burlington Beer works. The food was better than expected and the service was quite good considering we ate on a Saturday evening. I expected it to be noisy, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I thought the food would be just pub fare and it was actually much better than pub fare. For a fun night out, especially with a group, I'd definitely go again.

Bob M.

Yelp
We went here for lunch today and were seated quickly. Wait staff were quick, knowledgeable and very attentive. Food was excellent in it presentation and taste. Outdoor seating was wonderful as was the ambiance inside. Beer was great. A totally enjoyable experience. When we pass through here again we will definitely visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I always have really enjoyed this place and it's definitely a cool spot that is helping bring more business to downtown Burlington. In addition to great drinks on tap, they always have great appetizers and sharable foods. It's a fun place to go with friends or bring your parents if you are an Elon student. On nicer spring days, I would recommend sitting outside. It's a great atmosphere and on the weekends they sometimes close down the street and play live music. This is a great addition to Burlington and an awesome local business that is fun for both Burlington locals and Elon students wanting to get a little off campus.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Pleasant place. The beer wasn't great but typical of the hipster micro brewery beer we are seeing everywhere now a days. The service was good. Cute waitresses and hostess. I order the BBQ burger as did a friend of mine. Bother of us were too impressed. As we both made the same comment about the meat being cooked to a point of almost being burnt. But, it was a nice experience in downtown Burlington.

Heather H.

Yelp
Not much selection on food. If you're there for beer then you are good.... I stopped in with my daughter for lunch thinking they would have a bigger bar food selection.
google avatar

Erin G.

Yelp
Atmosphere gets zero stars. The interior is cold, hard and uncomfortable. Not at all conducive to sticking around. But maybe that's the goal, turn & burn. Was happy to see cider on the menu. My friend enjoyed the beer selection and the Lusty Monk mustard - we went to Saxapawhaw General Store to purchase some. The fried green tomato with pimento cheese could have done without the pimento cheese as the other flavors on the plate completely overwhelmed the pimento cheese - you couldn't even taste it was there. The fried green tomato was perfect as were the other flavors on the plate - very well done, lovely.

Yelp
My family and I visited this restaurant tonight and had an incredibly horrible/aggressive encounter with the general manager. We were sitting outside and moved an umbrella over near our table to provide some shade to our toddler granddaughters, being that our table was the only one in direct sun without an umbrella to begin with. The general manager Tracy came quiet literally running outside ripping the umbrella out of my hands and yelled "Im the general manager do not touch my umbrella." With no other explanation. I asked why we couldn't have it by our table and she stated again "I'm the general manager." I continued to ask why we couldn't have shade until the sun went down and she said "don't be rude." She then proceeded to say this is the city sidewalk and no umbrellas are allowed. She dragged the umbrella away while my granddaughters were crying saying "it's too bright" and all she did was laugh and have a smug look on her face like she was proud of what she did. We would have gladly moved the umbrella closer to our table or found some other solution but we were greeted with such aggressive behavior by Tracy that was unwarranted. As a manger you would think she would be there to help the customers and try to offer solutions instead of treating us like we were beneath her. We tried twice to go inside and talk about the issue with her but she proceeded to walk to her office and avoid us. A lady like this should not be in the role of a leader and I hope that the owners of this restaurant take action so this doesn't happen to another family. I've read other reviews of this place speaking about this same manager who would talk badly about customers standing just feet away from them. This review does not reflect the service of our waitress, she was amazing and went above and beyond. Unfortunately our visit was tainted by the aggressive and despicable actions of Tracy, their manager.

Yelp
We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Burlington Beer Works. We were not disappointed. The food is simply amazing. The beer is so very good. And the atmosphere cannot be beat. We tried a selection of appetizers. The fried green tomatoes were exceptional. I will order them again and again. The beer selection was very good. I was even impressed that they had a cider on tap. I love the rotating taps and seasonal fresh local food. Such a treat! Eventually there will be a rooftop deck and seating. The kitchen and waitstaff may be working out how to deal with this amazing location. But who cares when you have great beer and lovely food.
google avatar

Kelly Z.

Yelp
This place was a happy little find. The food was phenomenal. Though it was hot out, we got the squash soup and it didn't disappoint. It was delicious with a slight hint of lemon On the finish. Our server "Trip" was fantastic. He helped Us choose our drinks as well as made food recommendations. The live music made everything even better. Can't wait to drive over to get dinner one night.

Yelp
Absolutely charming spot in the heart of downtown. The decor is industrial chic and the staff is super friendly. There are lots ofbeers on tap and the staff is very knowledgeable. The cocktail menu does not disappoint and if you are a fan of mezcal you have to try the "Brand New Invention" it is absolutely delicious. The fried okra and roasted brussel sprouts appetizers are fantastic and the wedge salad is simple yet well excuted. If you find yourself in the area definitely stop by to check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Bunnie L.

Yelp
God DAMN that's a good Rueben! That's all I have to say about this incredibly awesome establishment that is fantastic and has great service I mean really great service!

Christian S.

Yelp
Great drink options. The steak and frites was mouthwatering. Incredible atmosphere. Expensive but worth every cent. Bibimbap is apparently wonderful but I didn't sneak a bite. My girlfriend said it was a lot of food for the price, very rich, and overall a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly as well.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, good beer, and delicious food. Definitely going back! Bar staff helpful and attentive, friendly service.
