My name is Rick. I went over there few minutes ago but at first I hesitated wondering if food would be good. We were hungry so I had no choice but I was so surprised about this place service was nice and friendly well organized the smell inside was already amazing make me even more hungry and the food was amazing. I definitely recommend this place and I definitely going back to try others dishes .

Just okay to me. Nothing spectacular. They said vegetables buts it’s one big ole cabbage. Rice and beans 3 beans all rice. Portions are big though. I just wouldn’t come back.

Sunday 7 20 25. Chancellor Avenue location. Whole porkchops and whole chicken and garlic. 30 minute wait. Thoroughly disappointed. Mountain of rice soggy fries and NO GARLIC on chicken. Pork covered in onions and peppers and soggy fries. 5 dollar small wedge of cheesecake. Trash experience and I won't return. Nunzios ( Vauxhall) destroys this place.

First time going there the food didn’t have no taste. I started to eat some of the rice. It was hair in the food then they charge 15% just to sit down in the restaurant to eat hair . So as I’m leaving out with my soda in my hand, the guy gonna try to tell me that I didn’t pay for it. I told him to worry about the workers that’s in there that don’t have a hairnet on.

I promise if i could give less than one star I would thats how bad of an inconvenient experience I faced due to this specific location on Chancellor avenue in Irvington NJ, not all Burnett BBQs. I called in to this restaurant at about 9 p.m and ordered a delivery of chicken/ribs/rice/fries platter as dinner for my kids, that order was accepted and I was told it would be about an hour and I said great, proceeded to get the kids showered, changed, and hopefully the food would arrive by the team that was done but unfortunately that never happened. We sat there for almost two hours thinking maybe it's they're just delayed today or maybe they decided to deliver the last orders after they close but no, they just never showed which they may think isn't a big deal it's just food but at that moment it meant that I now had to redress the kids and leave my home at 11:00 p.m to walk to a nearby ihop to pickup food for them because my car is under repair which is the only reason I ordered from this bullshxt spot to begin with. If my order was too close to their closing window I could have been told that so i could plan accordingly but no they accepted the order then decided later it was too late to accomodate without giving any update whatsoever. Now fast forward to the next day I called to speak to the manager to find out what happened and was told by another worker named Pedro that the manager was on vacation and the owner wouldn't be in til late and he also asked the driver from the previous night about it who said they did eventually come but they didn't have my right phone number which is impossible because they have caller i.d and I have a damn ring camera so how does that make sense and even if it was a number mixup that would still be negligence on their end, as the consumer I did my part and they failed on their's. Pedro was very understanding & apologized for the miscommunication and understood the frustration like a normal human being, I even told him I wasn't looking for anything in return I just wanted to let them know so that it doesn't happen to someone else who could be in a much more dire need and cant get to another food establishment especially since it was late and he agreed and said the owner or whoever would contact me later. A handful of hours go by and I received a call from the owner I suppose who was the complete opposite and no sense of the principles of customer service and is the sole reason I am writing this review when I was initially just going to let it go. This man called me after I was already waiting for the call all day and the second he opened his mouth I knew it was getting ready to be a bad experience turned worse. I had a few things in my hand when he called so I said greeted him with respect then asked if he could hold on a sec while I put them down which didnt even take me three damn seconds and he already hung up, after I waited hours the night before then hours again to receive the call. Then when i called back I said hey I think our call may have gotten disconnected even though I knew he just hung up and his exact words were "I said hello, you said hold on and I have other calls and things to do so what do you need" with nothing but attitude in his voice like a woman so clearly he had been briefed on the matter and had no plans on taking accountability whatsoever so I politely declined to have the rest of the conversation and opted for this review instead cause as I already mentioned, I never even wanted anything in return but an acknowledgement that your establishment screwed up and severley incovenienced my family and taking that lightly was extremely disrespectful and obviously the reason I won't ever return to the land of undercooked food again. EAD.

This place is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Much MUCH better than the East Orange location. They give you EXACTLY what you ask for! I love my ribs well done with a little extra burn on them and they always get it right. Workers are beyond polite and know how to treat customers well. Never once had a problem. I can't get enough of their food!

I’ve been visiting this place for 10hr plus. Moved away and last night made a SPECIFIC order close around 7:30 after getting off work. Why when I get home ITS PORK in my meal so me and my children didn’t eat last night🥲 I was giving a refund with a attitude and NO compensation for travel for coming or having to bring the food back sad customer SERVICE you’ve lost a good customer.

This review is well overdue! I had recently reached out to Telmo at Burnet BBQ asking if he was willing to work with us on a huge catering order (450 people). He took the challenge on with no problem and boy did they deliver. They had food streamlining from multiple locations and all in perfect delivery for our companies lunch hour. It was great being able to work with Telmo. He was patient (I did a lot of thing blindly since I was working remote the same day) and attentive and flexible. I cannot thank him and the wonderful staff of Burnet enough!

I must say, the most disappointing factor about the Burnet BBQ franchise is the constant price increase. Blame it on the state of the economy, that's fine. However, it becomes a bit ridiculous when the increase in price does not include a portion increase, too. Nevertheless, the grilled salmon is still the best item on the menu for me. The sides are okay (yellow rice, potatoes, carrots), but the cabbage is pretty good/better than the others. It's a convenient and filling option when you do not feel like cooking or want something quick. I rarely sit inside, I usually call ahead and pick up! The staff rotates, i presume, because I rarely see the same faces twice these days.

Price and portion information was not clearly stated. I asked for salmon tail and got a salmon steak I wanted the larger order but what I got was something else. They were willing to give me another order but I didn't want to go back and risk getting it wrong again.

Idk whatever happen to this place but the bbq and chicken had no type of flavor at all and it's over price smh

The Prices are outrageous . For 2 Beef Flank ribs was $18 without the sides. I will not be going back.

Fresh and tasty the ribs are delicious and well seasoned the chicken is fresh moist and tasty as well very reasonably priced and prompt service and delivery I enjoy the food here a lot they also have many locations around jersey

This use to be one of my favorite spots to grab lunch/dinner to go. Put during this pandemic, the females that answer the phone (especially today 9/1/2020 6:59pm) are rude and unprofessional. The attitude is uncalled for and she/they come off as if you are bothering them. Thank God, for optional eateries within walking distance. The food is good, but the service is horrible and the main reason why I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Food is okay. Be sure to show a picture or sound out and repeat exactly what you plan to order to avoid any mixups that the owners/workers won't even try to acknowledge or rectify. The woman I spoke to first was pleasant, I'm assuming it's because I gave the same respect but the guy could definitely take some pointers from her on customer service. He came on the phone pretty defensive and hung up when he finished speaking which was quite the turn-off. I hope the other locations are more customer conscious.

I have been eating at this restaurant for years. My last 3 orders have been wrong. I spoke to the manager n expressed my concerns about this issue. My whole dinner was a disaster. Very unsatisfying. He stated to me that there is nothing he can do. I can offer you some more beans.

The Portuguese Steal and Egg platter was wholly underestimated by me as a newcomer here. A MOUNTAIN of steak, rice and vegetables. The road department at the next table ordered 2 of these platters to share among 8 guys. They knew... What a great place - the food was delicious. Taking leftovers home in a lawn bag. Kudos!

I ordered from here for a work party. Huge platter of food for the money. We ordered the large size of chicken, ribs, and salmon - each came with a huge helping of seasoned yellow rice and a side. The salmon was deliciously cooked with terrific flavor! The chicken was moist and savory. I didn't try the ribs but they look delicious. We also got a helping of the fries, veggies (which was basically just potatoes and cabbage), and beans. For $49.50 - a party of 6 ate like kings. Really excellent food at a very decent price! My only compliant is that they wouldn't deliver so we had to pick it up and there is a lack of parking in the area. Also the portion size is so big that just 1 of these trays will feed 3-4 people so you don't get to try too much variety.

Mannn talk about some good food! You can't get this where I'm from (not that I know of). My cousin said she was picking up a pan of food with rice and sauce...this was def not what I expected. Everything was so flavorful!! We got the whole chicken pan with rice and vegetables and garlic sauce over everything. We also got a side of shrimp, however, it wasn't actually a side...more like another full meal. I tried to stop and get a pan before heading back to my side of town (wanted my fam to taste this excellence), however, the place wasn't open yet. Next time I visit NJ I'm def hitting this place up!

Love this spot. Food is good, service is - ehhhh, nothing to write home about, but not terrible, portions are good. And the place itself is friendly and relaxing.

I always get great service at this location and the food is ALWAYS delicious & fresh. I normally get chicken with rice and vegetables. The portions are huge so I always have leftovers for the next day. The only downside is the parking. Sometimes I have to circle the block a few times before I can get a spot. Other than that, I don't have any complaints.

If I had more thumbs, I would give it 4 thumbs down. Arrived at around noon, to be greeted by an odd ball server, tried too hard to be funny/appealing. After ordering, proceeded to wait 45 minutes when there were a whopping 2 tables full in the entire restaurant. 45 minutes to cook, 2 pieces of short ribs and 2 halves of chicken. The food arrived and it was completely cold. When I say cold, I mean COLD, not warm, but absolutely cold. The short ribs felt like they came out of the fridge 15 min ago. The fries were cold, but the beans were warm. I guess you wins some and lose some. Also part of the ribs were covered in hot sauce that is only available on the tables. I am pretty sure my order of food was cooked earlier, returned by a customer who put the hot sauce on the ribs, and it was just partially reheated. There is literally no other explanation as to why my food was ice cold but my coworkers was as hot as the sun. I guess this is what I get for going this BBQ place instead of going to the original Burnet #1. To summarize: Crap cold food, greasy bony chicken, 45+min wait, weird waitress. Just go to Burnet #1 in Union, plus the waitress is hotter so win win for you. Better food, hotter waitress, also hotter food. 4 thumbs down.

The place is cool they get packed pretty quickly too. The only thing that bothers me is that when you get fries with your order they come burnt sometimes. Either dark brown or you bite into them and they are hard. I always ask them to not fry my fries too hard other than that it's cool.

I visited this location with boyfriend and their food and service was amazing! I placed my order to go and had the 1/2 chicken with beef ribs, yellow rice and steamed vegetables. I also requested garlic sauce on the chicken and ribs. The food tastes amazing!

First time coming here. The atmosphere is just right for a lunch crowd. Pros: Good lively music (103.5 KTU type), mammoth portions (this is also a con), food tastes fresh, friendly staff, clean restrooms, reasonably priced. Cons: The cappuccino was piping hot and I had no clue because of the pile of whip cream on top blocking the steam. It came with a spoon, so I tried to mix the cream into the coffee & it was so full it was running down the cup - all sloppy. I asked her how in the world do I drink this thing & she changed it by pouring into a regular cup. Maybe I'm ignorant to this drink but I burned my tongue like u wouldn't believe. The mammoth portions. Do they really expect u to eat all of that?? I look at the tables across from me and nobody has in their food on the way, what a waste of food because it just goes in the trash. Start eating & food will be falling off your plate in no time. As I said the staff was friendly, but they could've been more attentive. "How's everything? Would you like anything else?" Etc. For this area, it's above average. But if you're used to dining out like me, in nicer neighborhoods, it's just a standard place.

Their food is good, go there for Sunday after church takeout. The steamed vegetables are the best I've ever had

I absolutely love this particular location. They have great customer service and are very efficient when it comes to phone orders. My wait time is never long and everything is made fresh! Can not beat their prices

Garlic Shrimp !!! Nice sized shrimp and good people working at location never disappointed. A+++

I really love the food..... but I really am disappointed​ with the 2-hour​ delivery time. I called at 7:02 and I got my food around 9:45

Street parking was easy to find. The barbequed ribs and chicken were delicious and very well seasoned. Pricing wise, the chicken and/or ribs seem to be the best bang for your buck - you can get a half order with two sides for less than $10, which was plenty for my dinner. The staff were also nice and helpful. One note is that their kitchen area is right there, so you may get some oil smell afterwards. However, I don't seem to smell anything on myself or the person I went with, so it shouldn't be a big issue.

Food is good, many times it's overcooked. Don't even try ordering their chicken w/ garlic sauce. It's like a bad mutated experiment gone wrong. What really ticked me off was the service. Ordered over the phone and they said 20 minutes. Showed up and the woman at the counter had me sit for an additional half hour stating it wasn't ready. It turns out the food was just sitting. Her excuse is she didn't see it. Sure... Never going back there again.

They're serving old food! I paid $15 for a plate of old French fries and 'regular' tasting rice!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

We used to drive by this place and wondered how the food was. Well, this Sunday we got our Burnett BBQ experience. The food was better than the service. In other words the service was poor. Our waitress was not enthused and behaved like she didn't feel like working that day. The only time she was polite was when she got her tip (which I was reluctant to even give). I used to live in Irvington - for several years and never ate at an establishment except Don's & IHOP. This place needs to work on their service to keep their patrons satisfied.

Great food, Horrible service. I ordered some food to go and waited for my order to be complete. I literally watched one guy put my order together and place it on the counter(I'm guessing the guy was one of the cooks). Then I stood there for 40 minutes waiting for one of the counter people to acknowledge that my order was ready. I didn't want to bring it to there attention because I wasn't 100% that the plate on the counter was mine. When the lady at the counter finally took the plate(after 40 minutes), she called my name. All the other times it takes them a couple of minutes for them to greet you when you come to the counter.

After being in line for 25-30mins.... We're about to get to the counter and then they say they're closed. You couldn't tell me that 20 DAMN MINUTES AGO WHILE I WAS STANDING HERE. First and last time entering this place, pretty sure where I go regularly ( Bloomfield Ave BBQ ) is better tasting with better service. BTW no one picks up the phone smh.

Great food, great service, and even greater prices! This is definitely one for the books. I loved their menu and was very happy with their portions. Another plus for me was the space. Very rarely do we find a restaurant with such good seating. I went with a group of seven and was quickly seated at a comfortable-sized table. (The seating area was approved by those among us who have issues with overlapping personal space...so you know it's real!) This place will surely be going on my list of affordable, large-group friendly restaurants. Overall, a 5-star experience! P.S. The building is a bank converted into a restaurant which makes for some interesting structural features.

Yeeaaa, Idk how anyone said anything more than 3 stars for this location.. the chicken was ok.. being on the rotisserie is what saved it.. the smoke gives the flavor help. The rice bland.. fries tasted like they were fried 3 times.. ehh.

I don't know about everybody else, but this is my second time here and it gives off the impression that they are racist and only give there undivided attention to people of their culture. My order was messed up once again because the young lady taking orders does not listen well. I told her no vegetables on my Picadinos and Shrimp or anything else I ordered. Got home, Cauliflower, carrots, and the whole kitten kaboodle, all over my order. They shorted me on a order of fries for my 2nd Chicken Sandwich. I continue to go on deft ears when I'm placing my order when I go there. I'm like, "what, you can't comprehend good fluid English and the fact I don't talk that shit"? I ask how long? They tell me 20 minutes and 45 minutes later I get my food, I'm late for work, and the order is wrong!!! Don't go unless your of Spanish decent! I'm done!!!

I had giving them a good review before I deleted smh waited an hour for my food it came and half was missing like really I call them all I get in return is I'm sorry the waiter made a mistake and wants me to wait another hour for another delivery smh I'm so pissed off over this.

Apparently Burnets don't take payments over the phone anymore but their website and menu says that they do!?!? I've eaten from their Union location for many years like 15+ so this was a disappointment! Update your menu's & website and upgrade your technology! The Union location is an A+ though... but I have only been there in person every time!

This review is solely based on the service I received tonight (around 8:30pm) from the only waitress on staff (old grumpy rude red head). Tonight was the THIRD time my friend brought me to Burnett' for a meal. I enjoy the food, appreciate the setting, and have never had an issue with the service UNTIL THIS EVENING 7/3/15. Ok, the holiday is approaching Burnett' had a crowd of pick ups and dine Ins but it wasn't completely packed. First the waitress asked us to move to another table, we did so. After ordering, we were sitting for about 15 minutes without food, so as she was coming past I politely asked how much longer would it be until we received our food...... she told me this verbatim "I DON'T KNOW, THE FOOD WILL ARRIVE WHEN IT'S DONE!" After another 10 minutes here comes our food, and I noticed as she was bringing over my friend's plate, she literally has her FINGER IN HIS PLATE. Once the food was dropped off at our table (table 8, I believe) SHE NEVER CAME OVER TO CHECK OK US ASK IF WE WANTED ANYTHING ELSE OR NOTHING. This rude indigent bitch went to everyone else's stable but ours. I mean am I the culprit for asking a simple question, I don't think so not when I'm the patron paying hard earned cash to patronize a business that needs my support. How Rude! And that's why I made sure my friend did not leave her a tip.... Service ppl need to leave their personal lives and preconceived notions home... it needs to be understood that when you are serving you have to be accommodating and HUMBLE. not a rude nasty bitch. Burnett's please retrain or fire this old witch.... And lastly we had to go fetch her for the bill and carry out container! Like seriously? If management wants to talk to me I will be more than happy. But I was utterly displeased with the shitty service myself and my friend received for NO APPARENT REASON!

Food was Great, however if the service sucks, it takes away from your dining experience! So unfortunately I have to give a 3 star! Went for pick~up however, in there 45 mins, went to restroom came back and asked the shorter of the waitresses did u call my name? Sarcastically she said "NO I'll let u know when its ready, sat right next to the register for another 25 minutes and watched a revolving door of customers, so I flagged the manager and he looked for my order which was ready loooong time ago! Told him my concern, he took my credit card swipes it and took a phone call and starting taking a HUGE order! That didn't go over too well! Lol but if you're an Irvington police officer, or your skin isn't toned like mine, The service is good! So I give it 1star for service, a 5 star for food taste and quality. Unfortunately Totalling a mere 3! (Jayboogy don't play that)

This place is great to bring a family and so affordable due to the large family style portions. The prices are right for a cute date evening with the booh or a few hahahaha. Try one of the sumol fruit soda drinks to accompany your meal. Everyone says try the pork bits they are great and I hear the salmon is amazing as well. The hosts are sweet and will let you know that your group can share certain portions they are considerate to your pockets;)

I eat lunch here often. The pork bits with shrimp are soooooo good! It is probably my favorite dish. The portions are huge and consistent. I have not had a bad meal here. Service can be slow, when you eat in. They also deliver. The food is always hot and fresh, when it gets to you. I will definitely be a regular.

The service is great and the restaurant is very nice. However, the food...is delicious and the portions are huge! Three of us ordered a whole plate to share and we still had plenty to take home! I am definitely come back and recommending this place to others!

stopped to eat there a few times the food is great and gereous portions too I have the 1/2 pork ribs with rice and beans and they were very good!! I like this location better then the other in Union because it's alot bigger I will Deff come back
