Yelp
What a great, fun local brewery. Came here for their 5th year anniversary celebration party. It was my second time here. What a great time. Had a terrific band line up, crowd was really into it with tons of dancing and festivity. Lots of celebrating going on. The hosts and guests were all gracious, beer was cold and good, and they had plenty of food available for purchase.
Talked to a wide variety of people here, everyone had a good vibe going on. Actually ran into KenTiki, who is fairly well known within the Tiki world. He does a lot of audio stuff for several famous Tiki bars in the country as well as some drinking glasses and other art works. Band guys were great too.
Let's get on to the beers and food stuff. as mentioned, all the beer was cold and tasty. My favorites were; Brewtiful Blueberry Blond. Very tasty blonde style ale with a good infusion of blueberries without being overpowered by them. The Bubbler raspberry seltzer, lite and easily drinkable. So easy going down if you need a break from beers. And then they had an Imperial stout that was aged in Bourbon barrels that was amazing. 10-12% ABV, only 1/2 pours because of the alcohol count but so very tasty. I had their Lomita Local Lager, easy to drink, clean flavor. Also had the Burn 5 IPA. I'm not an IPA guy at all, but it was easy enough to drink without being too harsh. I would never order one for myself, but it was brought to me as a freebie, so I went ahead and drank it for the Yelp Family reviewing purposes. I found out that all of the food is locally sourced and not grocery store bought. Even the tater-tots are locally made. Tacos, fries, tater-tots, all were of a really good flavor and quality.
With all of these wonderful things that I have said, you may be wondering why this was not a 5-star review? I know that this was a specific anniversary for the brewery party and there were probably more people than should have been there. But because of the crowds, this is what I would say. There was very limited seating available. I don't know about everyone else but standing for 5 hours kind of sucks when you get a little older. I do wish that they had more seating overall. The wait for the food was a bit long because of the crowd. And the inside line to get beers was always 15-20 minutes to get served. They did have an outside "jockey box" that had 3 beers available, but like I said, only 3 beers available. And there were often times lines there for 5-10 minutes as well. The great music made it better, but it was still a wait and when you got a beer you tried to find a wall to lean against.
I would like to come back mid-week or on a non-event weekend. Although a lot of the locals said the regular weekends are pretty packed too. The reason is because their beer is terrific, the people nice and the food is really good.
