I ran into this place on the way to a tile store… Awesome vibe, cool art, friendly staff. The music was dope they have a record player. I did not have a chance to try their food, but I will definitely come back.

Google
The beer was on point — every pour was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Whether you’re into hoppy IPAs, smooth lagers, or bold stouts, there’s something here that’ll hit the spot. The service was truly above and beyond. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. You can tell they’re passionate about what they do — and it shows in every detail. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the music’s good, and the vibe is pure San Diego craft beer at its best. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out — this is the kind of place that reminds you why local breweries are worth supporting. Can’t wait to come back! 🍻

Google
I come here from time to time to relax after work. Its a chill atmosphere one of only a few breweries in the El cajon area. My favorite beer is is where vultures pare its german pilsner 5.5% $8 most 16 ounce beers are about $8. They have good food I personally like the double smashburgerbor philly cheesteak they run $18-$20 the bartenders are cool , friendly. Theres ample seating indoor and outside. Street parking, restrooms are clean and juke box adds a nice touch

Jay H.

Google
Not to compare the two, but if you were looking for sort of a local In N Out type burger but upgraded slightly then this is the spot! Burger is extremely delicious and will season has a good amount of char but is thin and thick enough at the same time! The fries are superb. Just crunchy yet soft! I have ate here about 3 times now and it doesn’t disappoint! They make their own pickles too!

Google
I have been told about this place for years and finally made it in. The site is an interesting one, for sure. Very nice outdoor seating and a cool back area around the food. Beers are on par, and the food options are pretty decent. The only downside is that the groups, while I was here, are very local, and even the staff will click out and can be distracted by hanging out with them. It's understandable but shouldn't have impacted other customers. Myself and a few other I watched, had the same issue. Overal still a pretty good place to check out.

Google
Wow ... Great staff ... Hanna and Katie were ON IT!!! Never experienced and empty glass or lack of entertainment. There is food on site and I personally had a Chili Dog with Serrano peppers, onions and garlic aioli. Yumminy

Matt W.

Google
Great beer, wide selection of beer and excellent food. Three Hazy IPAs on tap! The burgers were really amazing, we both had the bears burgers and they were great! Friendly service.

Google
I love this place! If you are in East County and looking for delicious craft beer and delicious hamburgers and fries this is your place. I am a IPA drinker, and they have a great selection. The smash burger was melt in my mouth delicious! They have a newish burger trailer inside the back of the tasting room, and the food is super tasty! The garlic fries were really addicting, I couldn’t stop eating them. There is also extra seating back there that would be good for a large group. I just love a nice, chill place to drink good beer — with good people and good music!

Yelp
Great local brewery that has the friendliest service! We came on a Wed and it wasn't too busy but there were some groups around. They have a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. Not a huge parking lot but we were able to find street parking easily. Since it was our first time, we asked the bartender for an overview and he was really nice and explained everything and answered some questions we had. We both decided to go with their IPAs and they were delicious. They also have stouts, ales, seltzers, cider and sours. We didn't try any food this time but they had a very large food menu. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Burning Beard brews some really interesting beer. I have tried two Belgian-monk inspired ales. I preferred the on-draft Get Thee To A Nunnery to another canned one but the virtue of the canned one was it was smaller if you're looking for less. The food is basic gold. Hamburgers, fries, a surprisingly good hot dog. The prices are not immune from recent inflation. Perfectly cooked, some nice outdoor seating. Industrial location because hey, it is a brewery.

Yelp
I mean I love their beer, but Javi with his burgers are next level. Delicious, fresh, flavorful. Same with fries we like the swamp and garlic. Beer- excellent IPAs and most recently tried their red which was great as well.

Yelp
Amazing Czech style Pilsner. Coffee core Delicious. Staff is friendly and spit on. Will return

Yelp
Burning Beard absolutely crushes it with their beer lineup. The LOKI Hefeweizen is hands-down my favorite anywhere incredibly smooth with a wild amount of flavor and depth. You can really taste the craftsmanship in every sip. The atmosphere matches the beer: chill, welcoming, and full of personality. Whether you're a local or just passing through El Cajon, this place is a must-stop for true craft beer lovers.
google avatar

Tyra S.

Yelp
First time going here and the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable on the types of beers they have. The beers were very tasty and we wanna go back for another date night.
google avatar

Aloysius G.

Yelp
Asked to sample a beer on tap, rude / pi$$y lady working there wouldn't let me sample anything and was forcing me to purchase something first. When I told her that it was normal practice for customers to get a small splash to taste before ordering a full pour, she proceeded to describe the beer profile & taste verbally and still refused. Was ready to spend money but was treated like I was looking for free samples, this place is a joke. With all the breweries to choose from, who wants to be in this crappy east county $hithole? Customer service needs to be a priority.
google avatar

Gaile C.

Yelp
Great location with a small lot but plenty of street parking. Inside was smaller than I expected. Nice selection of beers. We made it just as they were closing the kitchen. The food was good but we got the Serrano jam burger which they warned was spicy but we didn't listen. The fries were crispy and perfect. We came for the 90s early 2000s cover band and were happily surprised with how good they were.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little brewery which is very popular but we stumbled upon it on our recent visit to El Cajon. Food & Drinks: They have a great selection of beers on taps. We enjoyed a couple of different ones to taste the variety that they had to offer. They also have a food truck in the back with some good burgers and apps options. We got the garlic fries which were good. I absolutely love a brewery that has food. In my opinion that makes the experience complete. Ambiance: Chill vibes with some board games available to play. they have both outdoor and indoor seating and loads of it. Service: They have the sweetest staff. Loved interacting with some.

Yelp
Best staff and best beer in San Diego! Great music too! The food is amazing. Especially whatever chef Dan cooks up on the menu!

Yelp
We swung by this place after a weekend of spending cordial time with loved but values-distant relatives, and it was exactly the remedy we didn't know how much we needed until we looked at one another one beer in and sighed in relief. It's got that kinda dark, alt venue vibe, but everyone was very congenial and it had a family-like atmosphere. We brought our kiddo and there was another kiddo for him to make rock pies with. I went to put some songs in the jukebox and the bartender had switched it to play from her phone and let me select the next three songs all the same. Excellent, excellent beer. The lambic is one of the best local examples I've had, we had a hazy that blew us both away, and I really enjoyed the American Wild w/Blackberry that I took home. The food is on the indulgent side and also very good. Lots of spicy stuff, lots of hearty stuff. We had such a great time we made a point of going back, and really enjoyed our second visit as well. Thanks, y'all! I have a feeling this will be a perennial destination any time we're in San Diego

Yelp
Steve and I were very happy and grateful to check off Burning Beard Brewing off of our list as it was on it for a while. The beer that we had and liked was the Normcore. This was a Pilsner, Czech style which we found to be good. A nice, light beer as the heat cranks up for the summer. Flavor features to be on the look out for with this beer are sweet, fruity, dry and a clean finish. Once again as my trend with beer drinking g has been lately it is light bodied which it seems anymore it doesn't seem to matter if it's summer or not it is a beer type that Steve and I prefer more often than not. Of course we try to keep our beer drinking diversified still as much as we can.

Lauren G.

Yelp
The beer here is good, better than other breweries in the area, but the prices are stupid high and the service does not live up to what they charge. Every time I visit I feel like I'm treated like I'm not cool enough to be their patron. If I'm going to pay $18 for a burger at a place where I'm ordering at the counter, I at least expect top notch, or friendly customer service. They're too cool for the majority of the people who come in, it feels like. A bummer because we live super close and would love to feel like this could be our go-to spot.
google avatar

Mazy B.

Yelp
Cool little spot! It's in the industrial area of El Cajon, so kind of off the beaten path in a sense. The beers are a bit heavier & stronger overall. Hoppy. IPA. Stout. Etc. but they have something for everyone! Staff is pretty helpful & will let you try until you find your pour, and give recommendations & quick to help out. Cheers!!
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
Went here for a date night and had fun. It's a nice brewery with nice staff. There are plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. The food is separate from the brewery itself it is by a food truck that is there. It is delicious. The cashier at the brewery helped me decide which beers to drink and her recommendations were great!
google avatar

Ed M.

Yelp
I enjoyed the cider and double dirty smash burger. Had plentiful seating outdoors on the evening we hung out here. Order at the front of the bar for drinks and food. Food pick up is in the back through the double doors in a food truck.

Bernadette T.

Yelp
Quality of beers and food was excellent. Ambiance was fun and staff friendly. Definitely a repeat
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Most hidden gem burger in San Diego. This is my favorite burger so far. It's pretty spicy in the best way. Flavor is out of this world! The people are great and super personable and I love the outdoor seating and back room seating options. A must try place.
google avatar

Jose O.

Yelp
So this place has a good burger. I think if San Diego is known for anything it's Mexican culinary influence but something that is unspoken of is that California has GOOD burgers and the double smash is on par with Hodad's it's not over filled and it's a good pairing with the circle of hops. The guys here are chill and not pushy you ask and they'll suggest. It gives you that old rock bar vide. I'll be coming back to the burning beard maybe to try something new or something familiar.
google avatar

Beth G.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, good selection of beer on tap, staff are always friendly and chill! Love going in the back room for quiet or outside for fresh air.
google avatar

Loc T.

Yelp
Beer here never fails. Everything is delicious. Good beer, great vibes, and atmosphere is chill with outside seating. They have burgers here where id have to try next time!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for a nice brew and burgers. One of the best burgers and fries I've had in east county! Friendly and prompt service (Kasey) was the best! Had the Binksy! Nice smooth beer on tap. Roomy and cool inside. Had a band playing outside. Live music on Saturdays. Hidden gem in El Cajon, great place for group gatherings. Super casual. Highly recommend! Give them try and support a local business!

Chris L.

Yelp
My new addiction. Very good burgers. The dudes are cute too. I've been here 3 times this week. Imma go broke.

Yelp
ALMOST A 5 STAR! The outside patio is awesome. It is hard to find a place to sit outside and drink a beer these days. The service was amazing and the two girls at the bar always rock it! I did have one problem. When we got there we immediately ordered three beers and a burger for myself. We were chatting outside and having a good time until we realized it had been 30 minutes since I ordered my burger. I went inside just to see if maybe something happened and the girl at the bar apologized and gave us two free beers and that it would be right out! I get another beer and head outside where we are all chatting for a while and I realize another 25 minutes had gone by since I went and checked on my already 30 minute late burger. She apologized continuously and was very helpful and even gave us more beer. I finally received my burger after 1 hour and 5 minutes of waiting for it. And the burger was pretty awesome! One hour wait awesome? Definitely not. I am not someone to complain and I am also someone who works as a server/bartender so I understand the situations sometimes. An hour long wait for one burger was a bit too much for me. I will most likely never be ordering food here again, but I will always come back for the beer!!
google avatar

Yelp
Very chill spot. Fresh hot burgers. Must get the Cajun fries to go w iTu your burger. Love their cider here too. Great selection of music. The staff is so nice. Every time I get an oil change I make it a point to stop here while I get my car serviced in mission gorge.

Barry W.

Yelp
This place is on point! As a carnivore beer drinking punk fan, I'm impressed. The beer, burgers, dogs and fries are great! Minus one star for the lack of vegan/vegetarian options and GG Allin. Can you really call yourself punk without them?

Dean C.

Yelp
Went Friday to see a friend's band. Know direction how to find the band outback, had to ask. At least 20 minute wait for beer. We left, it can't be that good. Maybe increase your staff on busy nights? Had know idea how to get the food they supposedly offer.

Erika E.

Yelp
Great beer and absolutely insane burgers. Fun vibe and great service. Absolute hidden gem.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Not the best experience today. 4 of us came for beer and food, server gave us an extra beer and we said sorry we only ordered 4 beers, she seemed not happy after she had poured the extra beer and it was our fault. Sat down and decided what we wanted food wise, walked back to order burgers and apparently they shut down at 7:15, no last call for food, no where does it say that on menu or posted that I saw, went to order and the order person said we are closed, it was 7:16 when we looked at our phone and they say sorry we are closed. We were ordering 4 orders, obviously someone follows policy to a T. So much for customer service. This experience sure soured this place that has always been a great place to visit. I guess I'll head to Eastbound in Lakeside. BURNING BEARD CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE A PRIORITY. Not coming back anytime soon, but I get it they don't give a crap.
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
Love their beer and the variety they offer. The burgers are the best too!! Way better any other place I know of. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Cynthia T.

Yelp
Best burger I've had in a long time. Get the Beard burger!!! Also their broccoli pasta salad was very yummy.
google avatar

Fonz C.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday afternoon. The vibe was super chill and there wasn't a long wait at all. I wish I asked for the name of the gentleman at the bar because he was super knowledgeable! He definitely made the visits that much better. We went with the Iggy Hops Hazy IPA, it was a really good IPA, would def recommend. For food we got an order of the garlic fries (the garlic part left something to be desired), and 2 of the beard burgers. The burgers were honestly amazing and a hearty portion

Loren B.

Yelp
Best spot to grab a ice cold beer and delicious bite to eat! the music is always on point and staff are friendly and welcoming. Pet friendly as well
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
We went for a late lunch and a beer. The food is provided by a food truck out back. It was one of the best burgers I've had in years. We had the Beard Burger. The beer we chose was Circle of Hops, which was also very good and refreshing. I felt it had a grapefruit flavor I really enjoyed. I'm totally looking forward to coming back soon.
google avatar

Dave R.

Yelp
If you like great beer then is a must visit. Great beer and amazing customer service.

Ol Skool K.

Yelp
Food was good. It does have a food truck in the back ! Service was knowledgeable good Craft Beer ! And Happy! Ambiance. Definitely had a great Vibe. Some good music too!! Totally liked it glad we stopped! Hidden Gem!
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Great selection of beer and food!! Helpful service and nice atmosphere. Vinyl Sundays they play all vinyl records, nice vibe.
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
Atmosphere was nice. Beer was good. Food was little flavorless. You get your order by placing it at the bar, vibrating device tells you when your food is ready. You go get it in a different room. You way it at your table.. You clean up your mess and pay for your meal and you serving yourself. They expect gratuity of at lease 26%. You do the foot work not them.
google avatar

Roxanne M.

Yelp
Knowledgeable about their beer. Friendly and nice atmosphere. Sandwiches are good. Wish had their fry's back, seasoning was great. Still the staff makes the place worth coming back to. Not to mention the great beers
google avatar

Marc P.

Yelp
What a find. I tried five of their IPAs and all were delicious. I also got one of their sandwiches off their special of the day board: it was a pot roast sandwich and it was pretty freagin amazing; I probably didn't need to order a side of fries (as the sandwich was quite filling)... but I did, and I enjoyed every bite. The pups enjoyed their time on the dog friendly outdoor patio. Side note/tip: besides the main room of the brewery and the patio (both of which had lots of patrons), there is a back room with large picnic tables (this is the area where you will go to pick up your food order once your pager goes off)..... that back area was empty of patrons, but is also people & dog friendly; so if you want less of a crowd and/or you want to be indoors, keep in mind that this area exists.
google avatar

Marcos C.

Yelp
Stopped by at this place for a beer. Nice friendly staff and many choices for drinks. Place was chill for sure. I will come back again.

Amy K.

Yelp
Great ambience, friendly service, and interesting beers! Perfect for a nice Sunday afternoon
google avatar

Nolan S.

Yelp
I had this brewery on my radar for quite some time. I finally got a friend to join me going there. They have a great tap list and the staff were super friendly! My friend ordered some truffle fries and a burger so I know the food is good for sure! The beers were tasty. The ambience was this rock n roll and punk vibe. I liked it! Check them out and support local craft beer!
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Super friendly Staff are great Beer is great Can be kinda loud music but there is seating outside. Burgers are good Definitely a little gem

Yelp
BBB is brewery visit #173 for me. BBB was one of the breweries I wanted to hit awhile back while down visiting family. This was my chance though. I loved the paintings out front and the punk rock vibe was cool. Although I still think real punk died with Sid Vicious. I said what I said, fight me... Lieber Augustine is Vienna lager with nice toasty caramel flavors. Not light exactly but easy drinking and flavorful. SWPFTD went with Hammer of the Malts, a festbier which is always a preferred style. A very good example of a festbier. Panic at the Nunnery is a Belgian tripel with a nice sweet sour note to it. The Brainbox Pollution is a hazy DIPA with a very good citrusy note to it. Not overpoweringly hoppy by any means. Dankness Visible IPA was up next. As soon as the word "dank" is used it makes me think of weed, and that's probably the goal. But once I associate the smell/taste of good with weed that's all I can taste. The association is not surprising considering they are both part of the Cannabaceae Family. This was a really good IPA regardless. Postmodern Prometheus is aged in whisky barrels. It didn't specify whether it's a porter or stout but it seemed to fit as a porter for me. There wasn't much to taste beyond the whisky barrels, which wasn't a bad thing. This was a very good beer. I do love beers aged in whisky barrels. Abs yes, I know they are undoubtedly bourbon barrels but I use the Scottish spelling for whisky. BBB is well worth a stop. The beer is good abs although we only had fries, those were good too. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!
google avatar

Cesar V.

Yelp
Great staff and the vibe reminded me of an old school dive bar. However the food set them high above any dive bar I've been to great drink selection as well.
google avatar

Chris N.

Yelp
This place never misses. Good vibes, excellent beer, and great food. Staff is always friendly, just don't be an asshole.
google avatar

Melinda W.

Yelp
Very rude woman working here. There's hardly any parking. Due to construction there's no parking on the street. We pulled in and parked facing another car lining the railing. As we got out, this dark haired lady runs out of the business, and we were yelled at in front of everybody outside, to move our car. She said we can park in the construction zone (no, you cannot. I advise not telling your customers that.). And yet, the other car lining the railing was able to stay parked there- even when their car blocked another parked car on the fence line. There are NO signs saying you can't park there. You should get some if you so strongly don't allow parked cars outside your business. The group I came with decided not to do business here as that isn't the atmosphere we were looking for. I suggest keeping her away from a customer service forward role. That was not the best course of action. Good luck to your business.

Yelp
Great "underrated" food, awesome beer, knowledgeable staff and a kick ass jukebox. This brewery knows how to keep me comin' back.
