Portland’s Burnside Brewing Has Closed For Not Paying Rent | Eater Portland

"The nine-year-old brewery known for its Sakura-Pome Gose and Burnside Stout has closed suddenly. I saw a Reddit post saying the brewery, which closed for a “snow day” yesterday, had laid off all employees without notice; a screenshot of a message to employees read, “Effective Tuesday, February 5th, Burnside Brewing is no longer operational,” and added, “It is not certain that we will be able to make payroll this Friday... we will be in touch with paycheck information as soon as we are able.” Today a user uploaded a photo of a notice of lockout and termination of tenant’s right to possession posted on the brewery’s door, and the notice says Alchemy Brewing Company LLC, the business license name behind Burnside, has been kicked out of the property and that the landlord changed the locks because “no payments have been made to the landlord in months.” Eater confirmed the notice remains posted and a former employee confirmed the layoffs via email; the Barnett Firm, representing the landlord, declined to comment, and calls and messages to Burnside Brewing have gone unanswered. A correction notes the landlord’s LLC is 701 East Burnside, not Alchemy Brewing Company LLC." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

I used to work up the street with my brother at Bird Stairs. We would come here on a few lunch breaks during the week. I love the beers and the service is amazing. I plan on taking my swag i purchased around the world. This Pic was taken in Roses, Spain Update! We were in France at a cool cave called Grottes des Canalettes. Again, love Dan

Absolutely incredible place with the friendliest staff! Talk about dog friendly too! Wilbur and Duncan had a blast with their Canine Pale Ale. Great swag selection and a great variety of beers!

I placed an order on-line and 1 of the items were sent in error. I notified the seller through email and received a response immediately stating that I would receive the correct product later that day and I could keep the original item. Sure enough, within 3 hours I received delivery of the replacement. Very impressive customer service, thank you Burnside Brewing Company!

Ordered one of their Toller touques online as a gift to a fellow Duck Toller owner and they loved it! They sent a bunch of free stuff along with it as well! (A glass, coasters, & a cozy)

I loved it here. My first time and I can't believe it took me so long to get here!! The server is from Newfoundland and she was so easy to talk to and she gave me samples ad every thing I asked for. A real sense of pride here. The inside is rustic and charming. A perfect place to come get a pint after work. I think that despite the out of the way location- this place is going to be even more popular. I drink spindrift every time I go out but it's great to actually buy it straight from the source. I think it's Dartmouth's best kept secret. Love it here. Amazing beers on tap! A must go to for the beer lover

So I know how to Spin a car and I know how to Drift a car. But I don't know how to Spin Drift a Brewery. Apparently these guys do. This is a very popular Brewery which I'm surprised isn't on Yelp yet. They make pretty good products which we appreciate. Barbie especially, as she's more into l'alcol than me. They're not dirt cheap but as far as American stuff goes, I guess, we do like it. It's nowhere near as good as my favourite European stuff though.
