My wife and I had been hearing a lot about this St Paul hidden gem, so we finally decided to check it out for ourselves. When we walked in, it wasn’t too busy, which I actually liked. A young man greeted us right away and gave us the option of a booth or a table, we went with a booth. He came back shortly after to take our drink order. I asked about the hibiscus lemonade, and when he said it was really good, I gave it a try. My wife got a Diet Coke.
For food, we shared the Cajun mac and cheese, she ordered the voodoo smash burger, and I went with the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It took a little while for the food to come out, and there was a small mix-up with the order, however they fixed it quickly and made things right. The food was excellent, seasoned perfectly and full of flavor. My chicken sandwich had the perfect amount of spice, and my wife really liked her burger. She’s already talking about wanting to come back and try more things off the menu.
The place itself has a cozy, slightly old-school vibe that we both liked. Everything looked clean, and the young man who helped us was polite, attentive and helpful. Even with the little hiccup, they handled it well, and that goes a long way with me. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’ll definitely return.
