Great Market in a small community. Lots of fresh veggies to choose from and a large selection of goods for the kitchen and pantry. Thankful for the ATM also!

Local grocery store. Has all the basics, plus some specialty items. Great deli and fantastic meat department.

For a small grocery store on an island it has an amazing selection and nice quality too. I was even able to find pectin for my canning project... highly recommend staying on island and doing your shopping at Burnt Cove. Very nice, helpful staff too!

The toothless cashier refused to sell alcohol because I was with someone who didn't have their ID. There is no such law stating this - and I would know from being in Law Enforcement... And I had my ID on me, having been able to legally purchase alcohol for 7 years already. Absolutely absurd policy and will never come here again.

Judging the store for what it is: a small local grocery store in a remote area of Maine? It's pretty good! The staff are friendly and selection is reasonable for the size. While I don't buy it, I do seem some organic and gluten-free options here. Pricing is a bit higher than some are accustomed to but it's not ridiculous. Quality is generally fine, particularly the deli. What's actually in stock can get a little inconsistent around the beginning and end of tourist season though due to rapidly changing demand. Prices can also sometimes be absent for an item on the shelf or missing from the system, but it's infrequent. Worth remembering the closest major chain grocery store is a 2 hour/80 mile round trip drive to Ellsworth, so for its few flaws, I still highly recommend this store.

The hot food bar is always worth a gander. It's simple fare, but every once in a while there will be a real knock-out dish on offer. As a grocery store, it does the job; if you can't find what you're looking for, you probably didn't actually NEED it. It's Locally run and Employee owned, so your money goes into pockets of people in the Island. Good booze selection, nice smattering of local products such as 44 North Coffee, Cold Water Seafood smoked mussels, though I miss being able to pick up Tinder Hearth bread at Burnt Cove. And while I'm chasing the vapors of nostalgia, I also miss the DVD rental at the deli counter; it's a small tragedy to see it gone. I'm partial to Burnt Cove over the Galley (no offense to the fine folks there) and it sure beats driving to Blue Hill.

They sell cotton candy in bulk with the cookies. 10/10 would visit again.

Being a full time resident here I don't like to shop at Burnt Cove very often because the price of most things is well above the average price year round. The staff are friendly and the hot food is delicious though!

Yelp
The Cheers of Deer Island, Maine. A place were everybody, knows everyone. One of few places where you can get nearly anything needed. Even if you couldn't fulfill that need, you can at least fill your gas tank and hike off the island where you'll likely find that "need." Chances are, you'll find it a Burnt Cove Market. I found a couple of sandwiches and Whoopi Pies, beverages, cheap bundle of fire wood, a few pharmaceutical items, and bottle of local Blueberry wine! Now that's a one Stop Market! Only a 20 mile drive versus 50 miles off the island.

Yelp
Worst store ever. I have decided even though I live less than a half mile from it I won't be visiting again. If you happen to actually find something you're looking for then you better buy it all up because chances are they won't ever restock it. The only pasta the sell is macaroni and cheese or the same with a different name. The new "best yet" brand is terrible. The prices are also outrageous. You can get the same products for usually at least half the price off Island. The only reason this place is still in business is because a lot of the elderly islanders don't drive. Also it's sister store is also cheaper. They sell the same deli sandwiches as Burnt Cove just not in a plastic container and it's $1.50 cheaper. For the same sandwich. Such a waste of what could be a great thing for our island.

Yelp
Very well supplied market, especially considering you're on an island in the North Atlantic Ocean. Everyone is very helpful. Impressive local craft beer selection. Some fresh local vegetables. Well done.
