Burnt End BBQ in Denver

Google
Barbecue place featuring burnt ends. The sandwiches are generous sizes. I had one with burnt ends, coleslaw and onion straws that was good, but would have preferred pulled pork if they had that on the menu. The one I did get was good though. The side of beans was good too. They do have various platters. Service was fast and friendly plus the food came out quickly. The space is pretty basic but large enough th hold a lot of people. They do have unsecured Wi-Fi for customers. There was plenty of parking.

Google
Great BBQ and burgers. We've been here at least 22x for company lunches. I always get the same steak burger, and it never fails to be good! The Chipotle BBQ sauce is great for dipping fries into as well.

Google
Honestly I’m ashamed I have yet to leave this place a review for many times I’ve been here.. I’ve been coming to Burnt Ends for years now and this place has been recommended to dozens of people looking for “good barbecue in Denver”. So if that’s what you’re looking for; you found it. This place hits. Every. Single. Time. Everything is incredible. I dream about the Smothered burnt end fries so every now and then every we come and get a treat. Overall, if you’re thinking about going here for a bite, do yourself a favor and go.

Google
Worst bbq I’ve had. I ordered burnt ends and this is what I got…cut up pork chucks with no flavor and they forgot my bbq sauce in the order.

David I.

Google
Don’t waste your money. Delivery order: Starting with the good stuff. Sausage and pulled chicken were good. So were the beans. Bad stuff: Ribs were unacceptable. Chewy and tough, and they didn’t pull off the bottom membrane before cooking: this is day 1 bbq stuff. Pork burnt ends were the same, tough and chewy. Bbq sauce sides are tiny, not enough for the food. Paid $8 each for cup-size sides, but the cup delis were literally only half full. Nothing particularly wrong with the creamy slaw, just bland. Overall, the value was not there. They are charging A+ prices for D- food. Only in Denver could a bbq place be this bad. They would be run out of Texas or Tennessee on a rail.

Danny S.

Google
Bbq here is always good. Very consistent flavor on menu items. I personally like to get the Monday special burnt end melt but the brisket and pork is always good. I also love the chipotle bbq sauce.

Google
Stopped in for a quick lunch, and can’t wait to go back. The beef burnt ends were amazing! I wish I would’ve tried something else, but that’s all I had time for. I really liked one of the barbecue sauces, and even enjoyed the piece of toast that comes with it. I dipped it in ranch, and it was great ranch also! Highly recommended and I will be back soon!

Google
We used to really like this place but I've noticed that in recent months and years the food quality and atmosphere has gone downhill. Our most recent visit was the worst yet by far and will probably be our last visit. We thought the prices were very high compared to the portion sizes and the barbecue on both of our meals was very dry. When we first walked in the door we noticed that the restaurant did not smell good and when we sat down to our table we kept having gnats and flies trying to get on our meals.

Yelp
The burnt end is always sooo good. I've been here a few times now and it never disappoints. The meat literally just melts in your mouth. They also have a few different bbq sauces to choose from. From sweet, original, tangy, spicy and extremely spicy. They are all so delicious. The bbq beans have bits and pieces of meat and full of flavor. I'm already planning my next visit.

Yelp
I don't typically eat BBQ outside of Missouri but figured I would try this out while working in Denver. I played it safe with smoked turkey and ham. It was very flavorful. The pulled pork did not look good. I was not a fan of the baked beans, there was some kind of chili powder in them that didn't sit right with me. Pit beans should be sweet with some meat in there! Fries were very tasty! Sauce was good too. Location is great, nice safe part of Denver and plenty of parking. Staff was helpful with ordering and the place was clean as well.

Yelp
My company did a small catering order here last week and it was pretty delicious! I recommend their beans, potato salad, macaroni, and burnt ends! Bbq sauce was delicious as well

Yelp
Thank you Yelp! Found it here and decided to order on a Friday night. Food came quick and in huge portions. The burnt ends and sausage were great and reheated for brekkie the next day really well. Creamy mac and cheese, using cavatappi (my fave) and the beans were sweet and spicy. The delivery driver got everything to us still hot. Since we ordered for delivery, I can't say much about service or ambiance, but we are planning on going in person soon.

Yelp
I really wanna like this place with its corporate roots in KC but it's just not as good as it should be. The burnt ends were okay, more like cubes and no charring. And they were room temp. The straw onions were cold and resembled those canned things put on Thanksgiving green bean casserole. "Toast"'was cold and soggy. As for the sauces, the original is fine. Only other one on tap was honey and it tastes like, uh, honey sap. Better BBQ is a couple miles south--Brothers. For really good BBQ around Denver head over near I-70 and Tejon and enjoy Post Oak BBQ. Sorry Burnt End isn't in the top 5.

James K.

Yelp
Not sure how they stay in business, the pulled pork was very good, the sausage was ok at best, the cucumber salad looked and tasted like it was made a week ago. Onion rings big and soggy, matched the bread, the corn was soggy, chewy as in old. I would never order from this restaurant again. My order was through Uber eats.
google avatar

Audra S.

Yelp
Solid bbq in the DTC area. Good service, but small dine-in, so be prepared. I'm all about the sides, and they were all good--I got the beans and fries.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
The best BBQ in the Denver area! The smoked cauliflower is AMAZING!!! Bring back the Jackfruit!!!
google avatar

Sanaz M.

Yelp
Oh my! Loved it! I was so full and satisfied after a meal here with friends and family. They have great sauce options and service is great: just like any other bbq place they have a great set up with napkins on table and self serve drink station: the place was also spotless clean.

Yelp
Came for lunch and really enjoyed what I had. It was packed at lunch time so I decided to order to go and ate at my office. As I like to try more than one thing I opted for the atomic 5 alarm platter. While I like some spice I am on the lower end of handling heat. The spicy southwest sausage was very good and it wasn't overly spicy. Yes to pepper and I think chiles but nothing I couldn't handle. The buffalo wings were good with nice heat. The nashville hot slider was likely medium but definitely made me take several drinks of my beverage. The fire pork slider also was hotter than expected and I ate every bite of it. It's great that the platter comes with fries, pickles and bread to help with the spice. Would definitely eat this platter again. The staff was helpful and they were doing their best to expedite food with a constant stream of diners. The parking lot is ok as there are a ton of other businesses and restaurants in this development.

Yelp
Burt end BBQ is surprisingly good versus my expectations from a BBQ restaurant in a strip mall. I know that I shouldn't judge a book by its cover but my previous experiences tell me that strip mall bbq is going to be closer to Arby's than quality BBQ. With that out of the way I have eaten at burnt end 3 times before writing the review. I have tried a Mac & cheese bowl, a meats platter, and a sandwich. All have been very good. They have a variety of sauces to fit your taste, and from a cost standpoint it is fairly priced. It is a counter service restaurant so there isn't much customer service to judge but the staff that has taken my order has always been polite and willing to offer suggestions. If I have one knock against Burnt End it would be the portion size's which seem a little small. Not by a concerning amount but enough that I noted it. Overall this is a great BBQ option in DTC. TL:DR - good bbq, fair price, small portions for the cost.
google avatar

Maximo R.

Yelp
Food was small portions they didn't have any burnt ends. Food didn't taste fresh was cold left there still hungry for the price I spent that's sad

Alexandra J.

Yelp
don't know how they are in person, but I don't ever recommend them through Ubereats. I got the duo platter which ended up being about 40 bucks. It's supposed to be 1/4 lb of pork burnt ends and 1/4 lb of brisket. Burnt ends are supposed to be juicy and melt in your mouth. Not only did I not get the full 1/2 lb, the meat was gray, cold and dry. Ubereats basically said go fuck yourself. Total waste of money and I will never eat here Again.

Yelp
I stopped in for a meal to go- I ordered a plate with brisket and burnt ends with loaded mashed potatoes and the cucumber salad. The service was quick as I came at an off time so I was the only one there. The environment is rustic with TVs around. The meat was tasty and tender- my one complaint is that I had maybe 7 pieces of the burnt ends and for the price of $30 I think it should have been a lot more. The cucumber salad needed more vinegar / seasoning to make it tasty. I would come here to eat again but change the order a little.

Yelp
After a long day of moving we decided to get Burnt End BBQ for delivery. We ordered a half slab rib platter with the fried okra and loaded mash for sides, a pint of mac and cheese, and a large 'Best Freakin Fries'. Our food arrived in a timely manner and immediately were drooling at the smell of the food. From our order, the Best Freakin Fries were hands down our favorite. The fries were crispy, a good amount of burnt ends were loaded on top, and all the other toppings were just perfection. Also the portion of the large was impressive. The ribs and bbq sauce were good and I always love fried okra. The size of the side of the loaded mash was smaller than what we were expecting. The mac and cheese was good but wouldn't say it's anything special. Our order also came with a small brownie. It was semi frozen but we still enjoyed it. Overall the BBQ spot was good, but I wouldn't call it my favorite in the Denver area. We would definitely order those Best Freakin Fries again, though!

Yelp
The service and the food were great. Thanks very much. That's all I have to say. Stupid character minimums.

Yelp
Loving this BBQ kick we've been on lately. This place is a refreshing break from the usual meat + side BBQ joint set up. BURNT END BOWL: Burnt ends, beans, cornbread, topped with crispy onion straws THE PK: Choice of meat, provolone, BBQ sauce, onion ring THE CHOP: Burnt ends, brisket, pork, traditional BBQ sauce with crispy onion straws on a hoagie bun

Vanessa S.

Yelp
We came here and placed an order to go. I was originally placing an order for a platter, which was $13.99, which I thought was a good deal. I had talked to the server on the phone about 2 meats, which she informed me would be $30, but it would come with more meat and more sides. So I placed an order for the $30 platter, thinking I'd have enough for dinner and maybe even some leftovers for lunch. We got the burnt ends and sausage platter. The food was decent, but nothing great, and surely not worth the $30 I paid for the measly portion in the photo. Wish I read the reviews first - I recommend skipping burnt ends and heading to another restaurant for takeout!

Yelp
Delicious French dip and fries. Meat was so tender and tasty. Pleasant environment and helpful staff.

Yelp
I went here with some coworkers for supper. They are regulars here. I can see why! At first I was skeptical of a BBQ joint in a strip mall. Looked to nice to be good! But it was good. We all got different stuff. Everyone left full and happy. I got the platter with pulled pork, ham and Sausage. The ham was dry. the rest was great! I loved their spicy sauce. And the mustard sauce was decent too. Great on the sausage. I got slaw and fried okra. The okra was piping hot and cooked perfect! The place is called Burnt Ends but they ran out 2 people in front of me! But my coworker shared and the one I got was delicious. Beer was cold and good BBQ with huge portions. Great place! I will be back!

Yelp
This place serves up the best burnt ends I have ever eaten anyplace... The burnt ends have just the right bit of smokiness that adds just the amount needed to meld these perfectly tender, fatty, brisket grainy nuggets as close to perfection as you can get...I also loved the sauce that came with it. The two sides I picked were excelenté as well, cheesy corn, delicious, mac and cheese, delicious. I added a wedge of their corn bread, which was delicious too... B E Bbq is really nice inside with people that really know how to produce not a wonderful product, but is reasonably priced as well..

Megan D.

Yelp
While this food wasn't outright bad, it was below average. The portions were small, the meat was cold and dry, I've had store bought sides that were better. The atmosphere wasn't comfortable, sparse and dirty condiment counter, several tables were left dirty for the duration of the time we were there. Would recommend going anywhere else for BBQ!

Yelp
This was my favorite while in Denver for a couple days. Chopped pork, cucumber salad, and smoked cauliflower. I enjoyed their original sauce. Cucumber salad didn't really have a lot of flavor. Smoked cauliflower was great! They have several pickled items you can just grab yourself. Yummy!

James H.

Yelp
Greenwood Village, Colorado. This is a very traditional counter service BBQ restaurant, with a rustic kind of theme that fits BBQ very well. The restaurant was very clean. I visited for dinner in 11/07/23 at about 5:30. It was not busy T all. I wanted to try the burnt ends, but they were already sold out! Ugh! That tells me they must be very good! Instead I went with the 2 meat platter (the outlaw platter). It came with 2 sides and I ordered a 3rd. My meat selections were pulled pork and brisket. Both were hot and tasty. The brisket was better. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and moist. The pulled pork was good, but was lacking a smoky flavor I was expecting. I still enjoyed it. The out beans were outstanding! There were pieces of meat in a very tasty sauce, that had a slight kick. The potato salad and coleslaw were both traditional and very good. Nicely chilled. The sauces were very good. The original had a nice sweetness and just the right amount of molasses. The spicy Southwest was a bit sweet with a little heat (not too spicy), the chipotle was very flavorful with a nice kick, and the mustard was very tasty with a good kick to it. My favorites were the original and mustard. The service was outstanding. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the counter worker was friendly and made suggestions as I had never been here before. He also came and checked on me at my table midway through my meal. The food came out quickly. Now, in summary, what I really liked is that the hot food came out hot and the cold food was cold, the way food should be served. I have been to too many BBQ counter service restaurants where the meats come out cold and the cold sides are warm. Not here at Burnt Ends, at least on my visit.

Yelp
I dined here yesterday evening. This was a great way to end my busy work week! I ordered the burnt ends bowl, a side of fries and a draft beer. They feature $3 draft beers on Fridays. I enjoyed my burnt ends bowl and beer. The fries were okay. I recommend this establishment for good BBQ in the DTC area. The interior of this establishment is also casual, clean and they offer a BBQ sauce bar with pepperoncinis, pickles, and jalapeños. Staff is friendly as well.

Yelp
not good. very dry bbq. I tried 2-3 times now, its been the same result. The person taking my order was friendly. But I think, doesn't do anything with the food. He was cool.

Louise L.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place- not very big on the portion sizes for the high price, but everything is excellent in quality and flavor is unbelievable. The sauce is terrific and you can choose from several flavors.

Yelp
I called to talk with the catering contact about putting together an order, the person answering the phone (owners son I believe) couldn't have been less helpful or more condescending than he was. I called and asked for Bex, website says he is the contact for catering, the person who answered asks me why do I want to speak to Bex (I thought it would've been obvious). I said I want to put in a catering order, he says he's not here and is working somewhere else, there's an email address, I said I know but wanted to talk about it first. He says well you can't talk to him, send him an email, or you might have luck calling him at like 5:am. I asked if you expect your customers to call at 5:am and he said, you sound upset, I said you're being condescending and he hung up on me. I tried to call back and was hung up on again. Needless to say, I won't be catering with this establishment and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to either until they realize how important their clientele is. What a joke

Yelp
Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great! I would definitely recommend this place .Great food and locally owned !

Yelp
Ordered wings for super bowl - they were excellent! Usually wings can be dry, - but these were excellent. We tried both the bone-in and boneless. Definitely my favorite wing place now.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Ordered 2 quite expensive Burnt End platters and was highly disappointed. They were dried out and not even warm. They seemed old or left over. They didn't have cauliflower which is one of my favorites. Can do much better.

Chris H.

Yelp
Went to check this place out today with friends. Staff was eating a bowl of food while handing food out. That should have been my sign to leave. Both of our bowls were not good at all. Driest brisket ever. Fries with sandwich tasted like they were from yesterday. Furniture looks very outdated and in disrepair. For the prices they charge we should have had a much better experience. We will not be back.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Absolute stellar spot for BBQ (think I should have bingo by now for all the BBQ joints I've hit lately). Just phenomenal here! Lots of awesome options for sides, quality meat cut excellent, solid selection of sauces, varying specials, easy ordering, clean, nice staff, patio...SO MUCH TO LOVE HERE. But really the BBQ is tops and I'll be a regular here. Sooo many great side options to complement the meats which makes it hard to choose, but more reasons for multiple visits. The crispy Brussels couldn't have been more perfect though. South side BBQ heaven!
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
Your brisket is over cooked and dry. Tons of Texans live here. Try harder I can tell how it's cooked that you're trying to cook at a high temp to fast. Low and slow buddy. Watch some YouTube videos
google avatar

Jacob R.

Yelp
The burnt ends are beyond tasty. The food is delicious and the staff are great. I would lick the scraps off the kitchen floor if they let me.

Zane D.

Yelp
We have eaten here a couple times and haven't really had problems. We had a large takeout order 3 hours before closing time. I ordered THE STACK sandwich and was extremely underwhelmed. The meat had no flavor as well as the sandwhich had zero sauce. The entire sandwhich was very dry and looked poorly made. The fries were soaked with oil, cold, and not crispy whatsoever. Would not order again.

Yelp
Great BBQ spot in the tech center. The staff are friendly and the food has always been top notch. I've tried a variety of items here including the smoked salmon salad, tacos, wings, and my favorite - the atomic platter. My only gripe would be there always seems to be an issue with their freestyle coke machine. Overall, great service and food. They have good daily specials (taco Tuesday being my fave).

D B.

Yelp
I had the brisket and burnt ends. Both were delicious. Their burnt ends melted in your mouth. The rest of my party seem to enjoy their food as well. I just wish they had smaller options, but I guess that's what the single item menu is for.
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
Burnt End BBQ greatly exceeded my expectations looking at the 3.5 star Yelp rating. We visited Denver for a week and were so impressed with our first lunch here that we went back for a second time. The namesake burnt ends here are incredibly tender and luscious without being overly fatty. Pairs perfectly with the selection of sweet and spicy sauces. The SO Alicia L. is from Texas and has very high standards for barbecued brisket, so the fact that this place got her stamp of approval is highly impressive!

Parker H.

Yelp
Been months since I've stopped in here. Me and my girlfriend were hoping for some good bbq. Paying $70 for the two of us we were expecting to leave satisfied and full. Portion sizes were tiny and what we were served was below par. Sad to see a restaurant go downhill this quick.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Waited 30 minutes for a pick up order. Shame on me for not checking the bag, but it was only half of my order. When I got home, it was ice cold, and I was worried that it wasn't fully cooked. Threw it in the trash. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Total waste of money and time.
google avatar

Matthew F.

Yelp
The place is close to my office and are real quick when it come to the lunch rush. In addition, they have one of the best happy hour deals in the DTC area. Highly recommend!

Yelp
To start, The place is very clean. Welcoming with a good vibe. I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu so I decided to ask for help. The gentleman who helped me offered a few options when I inquired about the go to options. I decided on the two meat combo. The burnt ends and brisket is heavenly. I especially like that they aren't pre marinated. Instead they have sauce options for dipping (or in my case lathering) your meat.... Pause... I topped it off with the charred street corn. It reminds me a bit of street corn because of the cheese that was used. Definitely a must. The second side were their hickory pit beans. In my experience. Beans are SUPER hit or miss at most restaurants. Burnt Ends BBQ hit the mark. Tangy, delicious and very filling. My only complaint. I want more!! Lastly, lots of TVs, seating, music, and a very welcoming staff. Thank you for making my tip to Denver just that much nicer. I'll be back.

Roman J.

Yelp
Ordered the Mac it your own bowl and there was barely a cup of food in it! The meal cost $15! Portion sizes are extremely small. To top it off, it wasn't even that good.

Asael C.

Yelp
Customer service was sh*t we called to place an order and they hung up in our face we called back and the second immature person started laughing when we mentioned that the other person hung up on us, when we went inside to the front where u Order we asked who was the one laughing and hanging up on us they told us they were sorry while laughing unfortunately they looked and seemed very high when they brought the manager out aka Matt he told us there just kids and started laughing as well so we left and decided not to escalate things but bring it here and let you guys know. Thx again Abe really professional

Yelp
Is this authentic barbeque? There is a lack of a smoker on site. The ribs are soft, fall off the bone, and are good, but coming from a family that barbequed for a living, this is not a great thing for me. It's good food, but authentic...no. I ordered the ribs and brisket. I was surprised by how flavorful the meat was, the texture was soft, and the bark that slow smoked meat has, is definitely missing here. They have a solid sauce selection, with some very inspired creations. On the other hand, the macaroni and cheese was disappointing, dry, and bland. The dining room was a mess, but they were packed to the gills, and keeping it clean appeared to be almost impossible. This place isn't bad for a quick meal. I will come back for another run, but I'm definitely trying something different. For the real deal, I will have to venture out of this city.

Brit O.

Yelp
Ordered their Mac and cheese for a party and it was really good. I would recommend ordering it again!
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
This place is great, not sure what these reviews are talking about but me and my girlfriend had a great experience. The food was really good, the service was 10/10, even when the soda machine ran out of the drink I wanted one of the workers at the front changed it on the spot. I also would like to comment on the pricing of this place and people saying it's so expensive. BBQ is standard to be a little more expensive, and the prices here definitely reflect the quality. I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
I'm a little disappointed with this place. Got a two meat and two side plate, my friend got a DTC bowl. My pulled pork came already sauced up and I was a bit confused when they offer 6 other Bbq sauces to try. The reasoning provided was they need to keep the pulled pork "moist". I suggested the chef/owner find a way to do that like every other restaurant that is able to do it. The Cheesy corn was interesting, not in an awesome good way but odd awkward way, kind of soupy but maybe it was a bad day for it. The coleslaw was good, Texas toast ok, and for the 2.50 up-charge On ribs and to get three, didn't seem worth it. My friend got the bowl and was disappointed. The brisket burned and at first I though it was burnt ends. Maybe next visit will be better.
