"Burnt Smokehouse is business in looks. Steps away from Leyton Midland Road station, it’s all white corrugated steel walls, a blackboard menu, and two parallel rows of uniform bench seating. Because who needs wall art when you serve the kind of BBQ platters that Instagram’s algorithm feeds you in your hungriest moments. Think charred pieces of tender spring lamb, smoky, soft discs of beef sausage, and sides that’ll put your Lactaid to the test—extra cheesy mac and cheese, creamy potato salad, chicken salt fries. But the burger is our favourite thing to order. It’s so juicy that by the final bite, the bottom bun is all but disintegrated. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Just know that at this BBQ spot, you will have to queue. At peak times diners are squished on too-small shared tables with perfect strangers. It’s not ideal when you’re stretching your jaw to bite into a double patty and waving your arms to signal you need napkins as though you’re an army medic calling for bandages. But after a while of not making eye contact, you’ll find yourself loosening up and embracing the messy, chaotic fun. You should know that all of the meat here is halal and it’s priced per 100g (200g is best per person). So the bill can start to rack up when you get sides involved—which you really should. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Sinéad Cranna

My wife and I dined here this evening and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was phenomenal—warm, inviting, and great music. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impeccable, the service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and friendly. As for the food, it was simply outstanding—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. This place hits all the right notes, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a memorable dining experience.

Was pleasantly surprised by this place! Food was delicious, fresh, and made on site. Burnt ends and churros were highlights. Our waitress, Malka, was excellent and very attentive to our needs! We asked her to add on whipped cream to the churros and they did, for free; it really enhanced the dish. Knocked off a star due to long wait time for food to arrive and place seemed short-staffed. Overall, would recommend!

If you enjoy Kosher food, Burnt Smokehouse is THE place for deliciously prepared cuisine. The baby back ribs were perfectly seasoned and merged well with mashed potatoes (incorporating skin) and coleslaw. Others enjoyed a flavorful 1/2 smoked chicken, fried chicken and brisket burger sandwiches. This was among our best meals during our visit to South Florida.

Amazing place! The ambiance was inviting and elegant, the service was attentive and professional, and the food was exceptional. Every dish was delicious, with complex flavors that created fireworks in the mouth. Each bite was a delightful experience, showcasing the chef's skill and creativity. Highly recommend trying burnt ends appetizer and pecan pie!

Google
I don’t usually frequent kosher steakhouses, but this one is different. The atmosphere is charming, the staff is friendly and the food is incredible. Usually, I don’t go to kosher restaurants because the prices are astronomical, but BURNT is an exception. The portions are big and prices are reasonable, which make this restaurant one of a kind. I wouldn’t waste my time or money on other meat restaurants because based on experience, they don’t compare.

Google
I just wanted to thank Burnt Smokehouse & Bar for the amazing party for our sons 3rd birthday. The food was amazing & top notch, as expected. Sam the owner was so easy to work with, his menu choices were excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate with family and friends.

Google
I had an absolutely incredible dinner! We started with the Nashville Hot Chicken bites, which were simply mouthwatering—honestly, I'd return just for those. For the main course, we shared both the brisket and ribs, and they were cooked to absolute perfection. The coleslaw was on point and the perfect complement. To top it all off, the churros for dessert were warm, delicious, and paired perfectly with the creamy peanut butter ice cream. A flawless meal from start to finish and the service was phenomenal! Wish I had remembered to take photos, but I was too busy enjoying my food.

Google
The smoked brisket, pastrami are amazing, really the best in town - but don’t make the mistake to order any non-smoked meat! I tried in the past the ribeye grilled steak - it was below average, don’t waste your money on it. I tried yesterday the fried chicken - that was disappointing, below average would be a compliment! You know when you try to deep fry chicken at home and the crumbs are somewhat burned, and it tastes like you don’t know what you were doing?! Something like that. Honestly they should take such (non-smoked) items out of their menu and focus on what they are good at. Service always good, and as I said above the smoked meat is amazing!

Yelp
Nice looking place inside. You can smell the smoke when you enter. I had high hopes. It is an all kosher bbq place so that means no pork. I decided on the jalapeño burger. Server said they had the thin French fries, I don't like these so I ordered onion rings. The burger was a half inch thick, and the bun was about 3 inches thick. It had pickled onions and jalapeños. There was way too much bread. Apparently, kosher beef had little to no fat. This made a really tasty burger so dry I couldn't stand it. I made it through but it was not what I expected. The server did offer to get me something else but I declined.

Yelp
Waited over an hour for the food. No bread. Food was not good. You'd be better off getting prepared food from a grocery. Service was not good. Some customers with children obviously had no parenting skills as their children ran "wild." I will never go back. Horrible.

Yelp
5/18/23 Had a wonderful experience enjoying dinner with a group. Even though we were a rather large group the service was great. We shared apps: tongue crisps and burnt ends with cole slaw, those were all delicious. I didn't try the hot chicken bites but the others liked it. For my entree I chose the beef baby back ribs with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The portion was generous and the food was delicious. The meat was soft, the BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy, the mashed potatoes had some peel for texture. The mushrooms were well cooked. For dessert we shared zeppoles and cinnamon rolls. The zeppoles were nice but slightly undercooked in the middle. The cinnamon rolls were really delicious. Soft and "cinnamony". I didn't drink but the cocktails looked lovely. I am looking forward to returning to try more of the menu items.

Yelp
I got so sick I ended up in the hospital and when I told the owner/manager who flashes his gun around he did not even apologize or ask me if I was okay now. Their Vodka is called Bar Kill and it does. It tasted like gasoline‼‼

Joshua M.

Yelp
Over half of my brisket was completely dried out, which is a shame because the portion that wasn't dry, was juicy and flavorful. The mushrooms (and onions) side was delicious. Mashed potatoes were luke warm at best, lumpy, and just not too much flavor. As many kosher restaurants are, prices here are totally outrageous. Service was a bit spotty early on, didn't get a water refill till about halfway through my meal.

Yelp
Looking for kosher Texas style barbecue in Boca Raton? Check! Unique Bar B Que place with excellent appetizers, expensive and filling main courses, and a bar that was pretty extensive. Bourbon from St Augustine, Florida? Had to try it, even if it was harsh, it's Florida. Baby back ribs were definitely dry rubbed. Lamb ribs appetizer was even better. Whole onion seasoned and roasted was excellent.

Yelp
Amazing! Best food! Fantastic mango mojito! Fun environment. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever had!

Linda R.

Yelp
Came on a Monday an hour after they opened so this review does not accurately reflect what service or food might be like during busier times. So, the service fluctuated from ok to great. A little miffed by not being seated immediately upon entering though I recognize it wasn't a big deal and I was actually seated pretty darn quickly. Grateful that water pitchers were left with us on our table (+), our hush puppies came quickly.... They were good as was the horseradish dipping sauce and the tomato jam dip was good too, though the consistency wasn't appealing, the brisket sandwich was seriously good though the accompanying side salad was seriously not good (lettuce & 2 croutons) and required 2 dressings....serves me right for choosing the healthy option, next time I'm choosing the fries! Which leads me to delectable, delicious dessert: a Ring Ding: flourless mousse with marshmallow fluff. I think they don't usually offer dessert at lunch. The bottom line is food and service 5. The greatest disappointment and the reason for missing 1 star is the areas that are worn and beat up: seats taped together, holes in the scuffed up walls, soap dispenser torn from the bathroom wall, etc. So surprising as both the bar and light fixtures looked nice and new why wouldn't you give the place a fresh coat of paint and make the necessary repairs to spiff it up.

Yelp
Loved it! Burgers cooked perfectly, appetizers on point. We had Brussels sprouts-who ever knew they could be so delicious?! Croquettes -crispy outside and creamy deliciousness inside kids meals were completely finished by all of the kiddos. Servers were quick and friendly with just the right amount of checking in on our table. Highly recommend and will be back!

Yelp
My group of (7) had the pleasure at eating here last week The food was excellent. The service was outstanding...7 people receiving their food all at the same time .Everybody's dish was prepared perfectly Ambiance was fine..Our table was ready on TIME Priced right. Highly recommend Ralph Sherman Boynton Beach

Yelp
Good Kosher food. Very limited menu, unless read meat is your choice. Service satisfactory. Parking ample.

Larry F.

Yelp
I waited a long time to write this review because I was really undecided. I heard the spare ribs with onion rings. The ribs were nice and juicy and obviously smoked. There's nothing that really stood out about these ribs and then on the other side, there's something wanting me to go back and have them again, this is a flip the coin type of place. Won't be disappointing but I don't think you'll be overwhelmed. onion rings we're just Soso. do you atmosphere is pretty cool more of a formal type in the server was excellent.

Jack E.

Yelp
Arrived a little early so sat at the bar. Owner was filling in for server, started a tab. Friends arrived, we were seated, ordered Brussels sprouts, tongue crisps and burnt ends for the table. Delicious! Chicken, steak and rib entrees disappeared quickly. Birthday cake waited at home so no dessert but all six of us left happy and well fed. Families cleared out as we arrived, which lowered the noise level to allow quiet conversation. Recommended.

Yelp
At 6:30pm the restaurant ran out of brisket, lamb and veal. Nice concept but needs more training of staff. Bartender keeps pushing his hair back and going back to touch bottles, glasses, bar paraphernalia etc without washing his hands - a great way to transmit diseases. After this was brought to the attention of the manager, the bartender started to wear a cap. An hour after we ordered, our food had yet to be delivered. When delivered most of the vegetables were cold from the refrigerator, after they brought the ears of corn back, the outside of the kernels were "warm" and the part next to the cob was cold. My wife ordered a hamburger topped with brisket, the burger was good but the brisket was pure fat. For $50+/- per person, very disappointing. Hope they solve their help situation and learn how to smoke meats so they have a smoked taste. The restaurant is attractive but very noisy. I hope they solve these problems as this is an establishment that should survive.

Mike G.

Yelp
Three words: EXPENSIVE EXPENSIVE EXPENSIVE Went for lunch by myself and had the smoked pastrami special (way over salted) and a water, it was $39!! If I do return it will be for a Bourbon only! Very nice bar and selection.

David P.

Yelp
Wonderful menu. Excellent drinks. for a Kosher restaurant. Not your everyday menu. Going back Sunday

Greg C.

Yelp
Had a very nice experience here & I'll be back. Walked in at 5pm on a Thurs. (not in season) so there was just one other occupied table & therefore service was quite good. I started with my usual Tanqueray martini and the brussels sprouts which were just ok. I assume the chef had used a bit of balsamic vinegar, but the sprouts needed quite a bit more. Also had the cornmeal hushpuppies which were creamy inside & very good. They came with 2 dipping sauces. Then another appetizer - the burnt ends with a bit of bourbon bbq sauce. The portion was quite large - really an entree, not an appetizer. Having had pork burnt ends (in a non-kosher restaurant) I expected these to be small bones with some meat attached, but they were nice meaty cubes of soft smoked beef. I'll return just for these & at $30 they were a bargain compared to the very pricey kosher meat offerings. I enjoyed a nice glass of Cabernet with the beef (just 1 choice). I'm guessing the Jewish community well supports the place - there were about 10 men there & I was the only one not wearing a yamaka. The place has a nice masculine appearance.

Yelp
We went there for my parents anniversary.the drinks we literally the best ever.the food was fantastic .the service was perfect n the atmosphere is excellent n again the food is outstanding.

Rachel S.

Yelp
The food was okay. I could eat it but it wasn't amazing. The drinks were weak. Felt like I was just drinking soda when I got a mule. The only thing worth raving about were the FREE pickles brought to the tables. Definitely 100% not worth the price point whatsoever. I regret coming here completely because I was to the understanding this was a cute, cozy barbecue joint where you could get authentic barbecue at an affordable price. I've had cheaper barbecue that would blow this place clean out of the park. All the waiters and waitresses have to be at most like 16 years old which means you get very very lackluster service filled with attitude. They also act insulted when you don't buy everything on the menu. Well if I was Bill Gates maybe but sadly I can't afford to go bankrupt over one meal. I'm staying away from this place and telling everyone else to do the same.

Mike G.

Yelp
I wish there was an option for a ZERO OUT OF FIVE cause this place deserves it. Worst food in history, potato skins have some mysterious sauce on top that tasted like old meat in a blender, fried chicken sandwich was a embarrassingly thin piece of chicken on a brick of bread that tasted like it was from 3 weeks ago, and half a bbq chicken was not edible, but if you still like feathers on your chicken then most definitely give it a try!

Cheryl C.

Yelp
I don't usually eat brisket, but their brisket is "AWESOME ". The wings are larger than usual. I had the basic smoked ones. They many different sauces to go with them. The staff is very friendly and the owners will always come over to make sure You are enjoying food. They are very personable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Jeffrey P.

Yelp
We made a reservation at 7:30 and were greeted by the fact by a member of the staff said the computer made a glitch and we shouldn't have been allowed to reserve. I pointed out that I double confirmed my reservation calling late in afternoon and he said the woman who answered the phone didn't know about the glitch . After flagging down the wait staff we were finally seated at 8:00 pm. Half the menu was out and the bill came double charged with my original half chicken and the chicken breast she suggested I substitute . To finish it all the food was very average and a 20 percent gratuity was forced on the bill for what was terrible service . Will not go back.

Judy Z.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to eating here, but was very disappointed. The service was slow, the restaurant was very noisy, and the food was mediocre. I ordered chicken and my husband ordered brisket. The brisket was very fatty. The menu says 8 oz. I doubt it was more than 5 oz. The chicken was a small half. The bottom quarter was not completely cooked. The leg was mostly raw. When I told our server, the response was it only looks that way because of the smoker. I know the difference between cooked and raw. I took it home where I will finish cooking it. Very disappointing for a lot of money.

Naphtali H.

Yelp
The food was tasty, but wildly overpriced. Portions were much smaller than advertised on the menu. Waitress was on the verge of surly. We took a non-observant couple with us and felt we needed to apologize for a rather expensive mediocre meal

Jessica G.

Yelp
Great BBQ. Expensive but very very generous portions. Service was attentive. Even on Christmas Day, we were seated promptly. Very clean. nice friendly staff. Smoked half chicken: super juicy and great flavor BBQ beans: good smoky flavor, more savory than sweet Brisket Sandwich: very good size of brisket piece, great flavor, housemade bun Brussels Sprouts: good flavor but not crispy

Marvin M.

Yelp
Kosher great Drinks, a dab of alcohol Very pricey Food mediocre at best Sorry i didn't read the other TRUTHFUL Reviews Wasted time and did i mention very pricey.

Erika U.

Yelp
At 6pm they had no more grilled chicken (to add to salads) - so they offered steak or brisket to add. The Asian salad - was 98% purple cabbage and the brisket that was added for $15 was supper fatty and cold. The chef said that this was how it was meant to be. Cold fatty brisket PASS! What ever happened to satisfying your customer? Burgers were cold, fries were mediocre at best. Chicken nuggets were not nuggets, and not tenders, they were large pieces of schnitzel. When we asked for the check - the salad with brisket that was supposed to be removed from our bill since I have it back - was still there and had somehow accumulated an additional $15 to it. Not a good experience!

Naomi W.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious with a good balanced smoke flavor. Other restaurants over or under smoke but this was perfect. Staff couldn't have been nicer and attended to our every need. Definitely a place I hope to come back to in the near future. Highly recommend.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
Most disgusting kosher food I've ever had. It's embarrassing that they serve the food the way they do. The meat they use isn't fresh and are very stingy with their portions. They give u enough ketchup for one dip let alone when u ask for more they get annoyed. The ambiance is whatever, but if the food was half way decent it would be better. I ordered the barbecue chicken and there was no meat, it was all bones and was dried out. It tasted like rubber. Not to mention the feathers on the skin still.

Steven D.

Yelp
Very tasty food, generous portions, fair prices, chef assures satisfaction! Server very friendly and capable, ambiance good -- a tiny loud due to architectural design. I'd score it 4.5

Harlan K.

Yelp
I've been a regular since it opened. Great barbecue. Delicious food. Outstanding service. One of the best kosher restaurants in South Florida

Rhonda H.

Yelp
Very expensive for the lunch and service you get Caesar salad was boring and average, ribeye sandwich was bland , I had to get up and find the server to ask for some side sauces which helped flavor the sandwich The interior wasn't big deal casual atmosphere, especially to charge astronomical prices for dinner 59$ for smoked ribeye dinner I wouldn't mind spending $$$$ at a fine dining restaurant experience, but not for this place

Larry B.

Yelp
The name says if all. I work in the area and decided to get a take out order from this new place. The burger was 100% the absolute worst I have ever had. Extreme spices CNN on the outside and burnt beyond Pittsburg Style, put on a nice but stale roll. The saying goes that you "know" the first bite... well my trash can got the rest. Good luck to them!

Jeff F.

Yelp
Really nice kosher bbq spot. Good food and excellent service.

Nina S.

Yelp
Great food, very high prices! Younger crowd and good service. A kosher bar & grill atmosphere.

Carl B.

Yelp
What a great restauraunt. The brisket & rib eye sandwiches were delicious. The flavor was exceptional with the onions, pickles & prime cuts of meat. Writing this is making my mouth water now! The Brussels sprouts were crispy, flavorful, and scrumptious! I highly recommend this restauraunt and it's my go to place when I'm in Boca Raton. You don't need to be Kosher to eat here!

Gary K.

Yelp
Great food, fantastic menu, friendly and quick service, comfortable ambiance. Overall and really good time and pleasant time.

Paul S.

Yelp
Do not order takeout. We were at Burnt, and I had a good dish of sliced veal ("8 oz"). For various reasons, we ordered two portions of the same dish to take out at the end of the meal. When we got home, and opened the take-out cartons, we were dismayed. The meat was not slices; it was scraps! PLUS - and we weighed the meat - there was 2-3 oz (not 8oz) in each portion. We immediately called Burnt and spoke to Sam, the manager. He was defensive, but admitted that "sometimes that happens". He volunteered to refund the cost (about $80 - and they had charged us a tip!). I sent him photos of the contents of the cartons. THE REFUND HAS NEVER ARRIVED, despite several follow-up conversations, promises etc etc etc. So if it ain't at the table in front of you... you may not want to trust it!. I am left feeling scammed.

Elaine P.

Yelp
Ordered the wings. They were tiny. Like from a malnourished Cornish hen. Brisket sandwich 2 slices of meat on old hard bread. Salad was wilted. Fried chicken sandwich terrible. My advice is do not eat here

Joel S.

Yelp
Dropped in for lunch the other day just to try. Very glad I did. Food excellent. Service excellent. Run by extremely nice people cooking in the back. Came out to make sure the food was perfect. A+++. Worth the trip

Ira A.

Yelp
What a pleasure it was to be invited to the soft opening of Burnt Smokehouse & Bar in Boca Raton. Overall, it was a great experience. We started our dinner with well-crafted cocktails. A dry vodka martini and an excellent margarita made with Casamigos blanco tequila. As an accompaniment to our cocktails, we had fried okra which was served with two well paired dipping sauces. Now for the food. We tried a bowl of the chili which was meaty, smokey with just the right amount of kick. It was served with a piece of delicious cornbread. We then shared an order of burnt ends which were as amazing as were the rack of chuck ribs which we also shared. Each order came with two sides, so we tried the roasted vegetables, onion rings, and delightful cole slaw. For the fourth side we had more corn bread. Our only disappointment were the beer battered onion rings which were too oily for our taste. For dessert we tried the recommended "ring-ding" which was a bit of death-by-chocolate with a non-dairy cream. We are not fans of non-dairy, but it was delicious never-the-less. Overall, the brick lined space was inviting and the tables well-spaced. The service was very friendly but not intrusive and the drinks and food arrived at our table at a good pace. We left happy and with some left overs. We will definitely return to this welcome addition to the Boca Raton dining scene.

Batsheva Jen G.

Yelp
Fantastic Kosher grill. We had a wonderful weeknight meal. The brisket sandwiches were delicious and tender. The cocktails were well made and fun to drink.

Michael B.

Yelp
We visited Burnt the second day this new restaurant was open. We tried several items to get a sense of the offerings. The corn soup was interesting and quite tasty. The wings appetizer was nicely prepared, very "saucy" and quite generous portion. The barbecued half chicken was excellent. The chili con Carne was terrific. The smoked brisket was nicely cooked, very tender, but not quite smokey enough for our taste. They have a full bar as well. We think the prices were quite reasonable for Kosher dining and we look forward to visiting Burnt again.

Madi R.

Yelp
Delicious food. I particularly love the smoked chicken, the brisket sandwich, and the cornbread and corn fritters appetizers. I also really appreciate the service - very friendly and accommodating. Nice ambience as well. I've eaten here twice and hope to return soon!

Eitan W.

Yelp
Hillel David is an absolute king. Best waiter I've ever had. Make sure you tip him well he deserves a raise. Fucking love the guy

Sara R.

Yelp
My mother and I just enjoyed the most amazing meal here. Everything, from the cocktails to our entrees, was delicious! And our waitress was friendly and attentive, such wonderful service.
