Burnt Umber Brasserie

So glad I discovered this place! The food is absolutely delicious – you can really tell how much care goes into every dish. As a real coffee lover, I have to say their coffee is easily the best I’ve had in a long time; it was exactly to my taste and perfectly brewed. ​We also tried the Sunday roast which was superb, and it’s great to see such high-quality vegan / vegetarian food options on the menu too. Finishing the meal with some authentic Balkan Rakija was a brilliant touch. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

As a true Sunday roast lover, this is a place I’d happily return to again and again. From the cosy table setting and gently uplifting music to the friendly chatter of customers and the occasional neighbourhood dog stopping by, everything feels effortlessly welcoming. The staff are genuinely warm, the lighting glows softly, and on a winter afternoon like this, the whole experience leaves you feeling comforted, content, and quietly grateful.

Absolutely fell in love with this place, the food is amazing for the price and big portions. Me and my boyfriend got the pancakes and full english and I have never had a breakfast as good as that. The pancakes were so fluffy with sweet fruit and the English breakfast sausage and mushrooms were to die for. The hot chocolates were really good and overall super cute and cozy with good music. Luckily we live right next to it will definitely become a regular.

I had such an incredible time at the All East Points Festival at Victoria park yesterday, but what truly made the experience special was my visit to Burnt Umber, right beside Victoria Park! The atmosphere is one of a kind warm, vibrant, and beautifully designed. The customer service was outstanding, every staff member was genuinely passionate about creating a great experience. The food is absolutely delicious and served so quickly! The best chai latte and pancakes if genuinely ever had! You can really taste the love and care in their homemade dishes. 10000% recommend Burnt Umber for anyone looking to add a little joy to their busy day!

After teaching my yoga class, I wandered into Burnt Amber in Hackney Wick for a late brunch, and it turned out to be such a lovely surprise. I had their avocado toast with poached eggs and a matcha latte with coconut milk. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. The atmosphere was peaceful, light-filled, and relaxed, just what I needed after class. What I also really appreciated was how laptop-friendly the space is. There are plugs available, and the vibe is quiet enough to take a call or get some work done without feeling rushed. If you’re in Hackney Wick, whether you’re coming from a yoga class or just looking for a nourishing brunch or a calm space to work, I highly recommend checking this place out. Wanted to try something different so picked here and came over from Islington. Loved it. I live part time in Slovenia so was delighted to see a Balkan Breakfast on the menu. Looked lovely, tasted great (the sausages were superb but the Balkan in me missed some čevapi!) The coffee was great, the staff were friendly to me and my dog. Definitely recommend 👍🏻👌🏻

We stumbled upon Burnt Umber after visiting the David Bowie room at the V&A Storehouse. What a find! Delicious, home-cooked Balkan food, as well as the more common brasserie choices. The keto crepes were so tasty. Great coffee too. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the dining room is comfortable and relaxed.

The Mocha here.. absolutely loved it! The cozy vibe, nice music, and friendly staff made it even better. Everyone working there is super kind and welcoming, it really adds to the warm atmosphere. The mocha tasted even better in such a chill and lovely space. Definitely coming back!
