I just wrote a four or five paragraph review of this eatery and it disappeared! I am attempting to write it again because it did leave an impression on me and I wanted to share that impression. Anyway, after seeing a commercial for this eatery on spectrum 1, I decided to give it a try. It is located in a strange area of West LA that can't seem to figure out whether it is middle class or extra snooty and upper class! And as an example, I was talking on the phone in the parking lot as I was about to walk in, and the male cashier came out and practically closed the door in my face as if to say I was being disruptive. Really?? I'm not allowed to laugh in the parking lot?? It's not a church! And as a woman of color, I found this rather offensive because I don't think he would have done this to anyone of another race. Now-- to the food! I tried the sandwich the spectrum reporter Jada M. suggested- the Panini Crudo. Although unusual and very fresh, I found it to be very bland, small, dry, overpriced and unimpressive. And I never thought I would be describing prosciutto that way! A little salty, garlicy infused evoo would have done wonders. I found out later that they had pesto, and I wish that I would have added that to my sandwich for an extra punch of flavor. But alas, I did not. The restaurant itself is tiny, but cute and very clean. The female co-owner (it seemed that's who she was) was indeed a sweetheart! And even the male cashier later became helpful. It's a cute little out-of-the-way place for a quiet, healthy lunch if you find yourself so inclined, but it's just not something that I would recommend or try again. If I was going to go Italian, I think I would just stick with some fatty, ooey gooey lasagna or some rich lucious pastas! I wanted to treat myself by lunching here on Halloween instead of overdosing on candy, but it turned out to be just as scary, lol.
