¡aDios míooooo! I absolutely loved it here. Gabby & María were incredibly kind to me and my lady friend, even though she was acting a little rarita. Lol. Since it was my first time visiting, María took her time explaining all the dishes—con paciencia y corazón. Everything felt so warm and homely, and she even packed my bag with extra care y mucho amor. Gabby was on the grill haciendo su magia, and the food came out absolutely perfect. My friend and I had lunch together at my place, and the food was still warm by the time I set the table—como si acabara de salir de la cocina. Honestly, no tengo palabras for how wonderful this whole experience was. Muy recomendado.

A really special spot by Capitol Hill, run by very sweet and good hearted ladies. Try to find the entry, the door is tucked away on the right hand side and a little hard to find. Once you enter in, it's a cozy little spot. Delicious food and large portions, served by generous hands and hearts. Please give them a try and support a local business on Capitol Hill - truly the best of the best for this kind of food in the region

This restaurant was AMAZING!! I came in with a group of 10 college students on a time crunch, and they PULLED THROUGH!! The service was fantastic, they got all of our orders perfect! I had the most delicious quesadilla EVER, and it came out in about 7 minutes!!!! It’s so cute and very authentic!! I cannot recommend this enough!! I wasn’t even in the mood for Mexican food before we walked in the door, but after the first bite, I was CRAVING Mexican food!! That was one of the best experiences with restaurants I’ve ever had!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Best breakfast burritos and pancakes! It was my first time at Burrito Brothers and I was impressed by how quick and efficient the stuff was. Food was amazing!!!

Honestly………..Best Soft Taco I Have Ever Tasted It!!! If you love tacos or burritos, you should definitely check out this place. Everything here is made fresh. The customer service here is phenomenal. The staffs are very friendly and they give very good recommendations. It might get little bit crowded during lunch, but it’s definitely worth it the wait. I can definitely eat at this place everyday. I hope they will never change their menu prices. It’s pretty affordable honestly in a DC location that has many tourists. (To all the tourists out there: just a heads up there is no bathroom at this place). If you are at The Library Of Congress, use the bathroom there before come to this place. Why are you still reading this review? Go check this place out for yourself!!!

I ordered a burrito to go. It was good, but I asked for pinto beans and had black beans. It was a visit to DC, I don't live there. I like spicy, and for me, it was mild. The people were great.

The customer service was so good! I am not usually much of a wings girl but when I say the wings are so good, I mean it! There is such a good range of wings options and the employees were so kind and cleared up any questions we had and even introduced us to some fun sauces. If anyone is in this area, stop by, you will not regret it!

Some of the best Mexican places are just a hole in the wall. Good description of this place. I had the lil bro burrito and my partner head one of the bowls. Everything was delicious. The only downfall was that some of my Mexican rice that was in the burrito was undercooked and crunchy. They have great hours! Open on Sundays. That's a big deal in this neighborhood. Dine-in options are very limited at just a bar on the wall. Careful stools are a little wonky LOL

First night and DC and this was my first stop for food. I was able to go there right before they closed. The customer service was great. They were so kind and helpful. Ordered me a asada super burrito and it was delicious. Good, not great flavor, but generous portion size for the price.

Savory carnitas and fresh toppings in a build your own bowl. Chips and salsas tasted fresh. I enjoyed the breakfast and normal lunch options today.

A no frills hole in the wall little shop, but the food is great! A solid choice if you're craving a burrito. They have a few different size options and lots of customization for what goes in the burrito. I got the regular size and it was huge. Easily could have been 2 meals for me. I got the stewed chicken and my husband got the grilled chicken, and I think I ordered better than he did. My chicken was a bit more flavorful than his. I will definitely be back - I need to try some of the other options they have.

Very decent burritos. They are not the cheapest, but they are fairly sizable. They are not the most flavorful, but they are good. It's not the nicest for eating indoors, but the service is pretty fast. Best of all, the food does not feel like you are ever rolling the dice with food poisoning. It's a convenient location in Capitol Hill, and a well welcomed burrito is the Mexican food desert that is DC.

Delicious food. Mostly takeout with small eat-in area. Large, delicious burritos cooked & served promptly. Would definitely get burritos there again.

Bomb Breakfast Burritos. Quick service (albeit we were the only ones in the store at 9:30 on a Saturday morning). I recommend getting them to go and walking towards the Library of Congress to sit and eat. Make sure to grab napkins and utensils as the burritos may break because of the solid filling. Enjoy!

Um.. Yummy. Tiny place near the Capitol. Soo good. Quesadilla with carnitas and chicken burrito. Can't go wrong.

The Carne Asada is excellent, I had the plate with Mexican rice and beans corn And corn tortillas.

I consider myself lucky that I have worked within walking distance of Burrito Brothers for decades. They still make a great burrito.

Convenient location. Food is good enough for being so close to the Capitol. You could do worse. Bumping up the rating for the setting. I'm from LA so I'm going to be a harsh judge. Not close to my hometown standards but considering we're in D.C. and they need to adjust the taste to a wide audience I can't be too mad. Price is fair again considering the proximity to sights.

Best burrito I've had in DC! It was HUGE and the carnitas was amazing super flavorful!! I ended up splitting mine into 3 meals the only thing I was disappointed about was the chips they were stale and tasted like old oil but the burrito was so good I didn't care!

While ordering food at the register the owner of the establishment stated " you make alot of money over there where you work, you can pay for more. I pay taxes for you" Don't appreciate this act of bad customer service and lack of professionalism. This experience wasn't pleasant.

Awesome small spot on Capital Hill that has some the best burritos in DC! They have a large menu which includes allday breakfast and you have the option to customize your burrito from the the tortilla to the beans & protein. Haven't been to chipotle since this place came into my life.

Service was extremely friendly and kind! The menu has a lot of options. I got a chicken burrito and enjoyed it a lot. I really want to try their breakfast burritos. It is a tiny restaurant and there aren't a whole lot of places to sit so keep that in mind. Overall, I had a positive experience and I'd love to try more things on the menu next time.

Customer service was below standard but my burrito was good despite them not making it as ordered.... Also, burrito didn't come w chips something I'm use to...

First time I have eaten here post pandemic. The chicken on the burrito in the past was pulled and delicious. Now it some kind of cubed pseudo chicken. Everything else is about the same. Service was okay. Food was quick but I would wait longer for better quality. Appears to have gone the route of McDonalds.

Don't walk by this place. Even if you don't think it's your vibe, it is. Period. Most definitely the best and biggest burrito to touch my mouth. Please do yourself and the owner a favor and get the meal you deserve and leave a good tip because they are so sweet. Don't miss out on this place!

Great, go-to food and unbeatable value for your dollar around here. When you order from their website, food is ready by the time you get there... Provided the order actually processed, which seems to be a 50-50 shot. However, as mentioned they're fast so when you reorder it's still only about 5 min.

Nice little spot to grab some food food. It's mostly for take out but there is some bar type seating along the left side wall and the front wall near the window. The side has less traffic since it leads to the back. Service was polite and the food was quick enough with the one woman on the grill at the time. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was so good! I do wish that it was fully closed to make it easier to eat, but I dealt with it. It was pretty tho (LOL). Hubby bad a burrito, I forgot what kind, but he loved his food as well. Portion on both was huge. I forgot to take pics bc once I bit into the food I basically didn't stop eating. I love that they have burrito size options for those that can't eat a monster but still want a burrito.

Yummy California burrito. Had my favorite hot sauce that I've never seen anyone carry. They carried Matouk's hot sauce and the manager was so nice and let me grab a bunch of it myself.

Great option for late night munchies, we saw the open sign on the way home after we had left the Clarendon bar area so of course we had to bust a U-turn! The guys making the burritos were friendly and very helpful when we were trying to figure out how to customize our burrito. They were extremely fast and loaded it up with meat so there was no need to try to swindle a little more like at chipotle lol they also had four different homemade sauces being peach, mango, cilantro (best), chipotle which was the most spicy... And then of course there was the behind the counter extra spicy hot sauce! He let us sample all of them, each of which were delicious. It was great quality and wifey and I are already excited to go back and try the Quesarito that my friend got! It seems to be a better deal being slightly more expensive but much bigger and they cook the outside to a nice crunchy contrasting texture

We ordered two burrito bowls, and they were unfortunately really awful. The bowls are big, but there was absolutely no flavor. The most bland burrito bowl I have ever eaten. In addition to the lack of flavor, there were very few pieces of chicken on top of a mountain of rice and container of sour cream. We were really disappointed and could not get through most of the bowl. I am very sad to even leave this review but it was just really disappointing.

Well before chipotle, Moe's and all of the other fast food fresh burrito shops, burrito Brothers was making fantastic burritos. Stopped in quick lunch and I was not disappointed as good as it was in the 90's. Make sure to check out all of the fantastic sauces and fresh chips...

Service was quick and they were so nice! We got breakfast burritos which were sooooooo good! Definitely recommend the Cheesey bacon burrito with plantains! So good! I thought I'd try a 12" burrito, but couldn't finish it!

I tempered my expectations for Burrito Brothers based on my experience of Mexican restaurants throughout the DMV and I really do my best to not compare taco and burrito establishments here to the outstanding taco shops in Southern California. However, I wouldn't find myself going here again since the burrito was quite bland. An important note about the menu board: The prices you see on the menu reflect the smallest sized burrito on a three-tiered system of small, medium, and large. I will assume the pricing board says this, but I certainly didn't see it (or expect to see it for that matter). Once you place your order you are left to ask them how much more is it for a medium or large burrito. They do have a sample of each size by the register to give you an idea how much of a burrito you will get once the price is determined.

This place doesn't deserve five stars for the food alone (that's more like a four, solid burritos but nothing amazing) but the fact that is also affordable and in a great location. If you want a good lunch that won't cost too much right by the Capitol, this is the place

During my visit, the cook was singlehandedly making up tasty entrees from both the lunch and breakfast menu. Just steps away from the Library of Congress tour, this is an excellent lunch spot.

Big Daddy Steak Burrito it was ok no flavor or taste the burrito add little to no meat in it

This is one of the best burrito spots in town. Everything is fresh and their burritos are huge!

Wonderful hole in the wall gem we discovered. We needed a hearty breakfast to start our day of sightseeing and this place did not disappoint. We ordered all burritos - Cheesy bacon breakfast, Egg steak and cheese and Egg chicken and cheese. They also have a salsa bar with jalapenos. Everything is made fresh! And you can order online for a quick pick up and go. Friendly people, fantastic food. Definitely worth the stop.

I had the regular burrito with steak, black beans, rice, cheese, onions, corn salsa, andlettuce. It came with a coke but I had coffee instead. For ten, less a dime, it made a nice lunch. I was happy that it came with fresh jalapeños on the side. Came back a second time with a large order and they had no problem finishing it, didn't even need to put time on the parking meter. Everyone enjoyed the food and wanted more.

Went into this shop a few weeks ago. A youngish fella was at the counter. He was as rude as he was greasy. Disgusting attitude, and disgusting food. When this place closes down, I will say good bye, and good riddance.

Very well priced and good quality of food. Got the breakfast burrito delivered to me and I even added guacamole and the burrito was still under 10 dollars. Who can beat that?

We stopped at burrito brothers after walking the national mall. I ordered a breakfast burrito and horchata. The place itself leaves much to be desired as it is small and dirty. There are no tables, just bar chairs. My burrito was decent and the horchata was ok. As family of 3 we were very uncomfortable. I wouldn't go back.

Not my cup of tea at all. Should have known when I saw it as a watering hole for drinks and nobody eating. I will definitely not be back. I didn't even ask for something else for fear of it being worst than my first order. Left the entire 19.99 on the plate.

Pretty solid overall. I Ordered the asada platter, plantains, yuca, and horchata through Postmates. The asada was pretty tasty and tender, though you don't get a mountain of food. The plantains were OK - I'm Puerto Rican and I have a high bar. Probably a little too oily. The yuca was was crispy but bland. The horchata was tasty. I would order from them again. It's probably a three-star place, but since three stars is a death-sentence on Yelp, I used four, because it's not bad, it's just nothing to write home about.

Traditional style mexican take out. I spent the last 25 years in southern California and love mexican food. I was one if the first supporters of the original California burrito. I moved to the midwest about two years ago and have missed mexican food so much, especially California burritos. I found my self on a business trip to DC and found this little shop and low and behold, they have cali burritos! It's not exactly the same, but they are close and it was delicious! I think I'll try to smuggle a few back through the airport with me... The only reason not five stars was due to unfriendly cashier. But hey, I'll take it for a taste of something that takes me home...

I would like to preface by saying that the service was great. The person who took our order was helpful and kind. However, I would be remiss by saying I enjoyed the food. I ordered a chicken burrito with Mexican rice, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, cilantro, and salsa. The chicken was completely flavorless and a strange grainy texture. The rice was mushy. The pico de gallo and the guacamole tasted old. I also asked for a side of salsa. The salsa was decent and the only thing I liked.

I love Burrito Brothers. I have been avoiding most Mexican food simply because I've had the best of the best in California. My friend (a former Californian) introduces me to this place. He told me that Burrito Brothers served california burritos. I couldn't resist, so of course I had to come here and order it. The burrito is almost $12 for a large. I think that's fair, considering DC charges a ridiculous amount for avocados (the burrito has guacamole in it). The carne asada is delicious and the salsa is yum. I also really enjoy their sauces - my favorite being the green one (the one that isn't pure cilantro). The employees here are always very professional and kind. I am definitely going to come back and have their carne asada fries- those are super good as well :)

I had almost given up on finding a good (tasty and not $15) workday breakfast burrito until I stopped in here. The breakfast burritos are DYNAMITE. I was pleasantly surprised by the price, portions, and bacon in my burrito that was still perfectly crispy. Not many places let you get sweet plantains in your burrito, but they do, and the flavor combination with eggs, cheese, bacon, and pico is perfect. They also have a ton of other fresh fillings you can customize your burrito with (onion, jalapeños, tomato, cilantro, etc.), and you can choose from different size and types of tortillas. Will be back for sure.

It was ok. Had the Cali Burrito. Nothing to brag about. Definitely not worth the prices they're asking for.

It's kind of easy to walk past Burrito Brothers without knowing it's there, as it sits snuggled next to a salon on a quiet part of Penn. When you walk in, you realize that the place is indeed as small as the Yelp reviews describe, but there are about ten or twelve chairs at a high-top bench/tabletop in here (no tables). Taking advantage of the $2 off check-in special, I ordered a barbacoa quesadilla with yucca. I. Love. Yucca! Especially with the right sauce. Now, their yucca was nice, hardy (but not hard), and fresh, but their dipping sauces leave all of the things to be desired. One has bubbles all over the top of it and is an almost chemically green color, the second is an unidentified, nearly tasteless brown sauce whose identity I can't peg, and the third is a green chile sauce with a kick. The quesadilla was interestingly made into two pockets, rather than the traditional style quesadilla. Each pocket came wrapped in foil and was piping hot. The barbacoa beef was well-marinated, albeit a tad overcooked, and the veggies inside were fresh. I have to ding Burrito Brothers a bit for cleanliness--I went to grab plastic utensils and they were all...well, dirty. I don't mean "a little dusty." I mean that I kept looking toward the bottom of the pile until I found a clean fork. The door to the hallway with their cleaning supplies and such is left wide open, which is just a little off putting. However, the restaurant as a whole was not unclean. Those items aside, I would rate BB as an average restaurant. The quesadilla and yucca were $12 after the $2 discount, which is a tad pricey for a restaurant that most would affectionately label a hole in the wall. They had a great radio playlist on, though, and Daddy Yankee kept me going. This won't become my go-to place for Mexican food, but it may just be my convenient yucca stop!

This is my favorite place so far to get a burrito in the DC area. The quality of taste to price is outstanding.

We loved this place! Really delicious and fresh tacos. Not much seating inside, but we made it work. Al Pastor taco was the best thing I ordered but everything was wonderful!

I stopped by here for lunch, the pics in the window and people passing me by with food sucked me in. I want with the chicken burrito bowl, very boring, flavor was generic and bland. The guacamole saved the bowl. The shell was not crisp, it was more like a day old tortilla shell. The additional items including the chicken was just average at best.

Best breakfast burritos in the area!! Hands down. Love how they put home-fries and plantains into the burritos. My biggest issues are that ordering can be painfully slow and they sometimes mess up my order. Really wish this place was on DoorDash so that I could order for delivery! Currently I'll either drive and pray to find parking (ugh) or order breakfast burritos somewhere else when I'm hungover on a Sunday morning. Never ordered anything but the breakfast burritos here. Try em and you won't regret it. Just be sure to get it to go. There's like 4 stools and it doesn't really make for a nice dine-in experience.
