Everywhere You Should Eat in Inglewood, Home to Super Bowl LVI | Bon Appétit

"When I want a really good California burrito, this is my spot. I opt for grilled chicken instead of carne asada. While you’re there, try the super refreshing piña drink—a pineapple-spinach juice that’s so deliciously sweet, you’ll forget there’s spinach in it." - ByElize Diop and Brad Johnson

Google
“A true hidden gem!” As a local, I can confidently say this place is one of those hole-in-the-wall spots you have to try if you’re in the area. The service is always quick and genuinely friendly — they make you feel like family the second you walk in. The food? Absolutely delicious. They serve one of the best chilaquiles I’ve had anywhere, hands down. Every dish is packed with flavor, and the menu features authentic Oaxacan food that’s hard to find done right. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and everything tastes homemade. It’s the kind of spot you end up coming back to again and again. Don’t miss it!

I had the pleasure of trying the specialty street tacos at this Mexican restaurant, and I was blown away! The tortillas were perfectly soft and warm, and the fillings were fresh, flavorful, and packed with authentic taste. Each taco had just the right balance of seasoning and toppings, with the carne asada being a standout—tender and juicy, bursting with flavor. The salsas and garnishes were the perfect complement, adding a nice kick without overpowering the flavors. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine, you absolutely can't miss these street tacos! Highly recommend!

Google
A hole in the wall where locals come for the BEST chilaquiles in the area! Wonderful customer service! Authentic great tasting Cafe de Olla and Chilaquiles! If you like Oaxacan food, this is an authentic place for Mole Oaxaqueño and garnachas! Their tamales Oaxaqueños are delicious!!

This was my first visit to Burrito Caliente but I can assure you it won't be my last. One of the best Mexican restaurants in LA. I lived briefly in Mexico and lived in a loft across the 4th St Bridge in Boyle Heights. The ladies at BC are friendly and masters of customer service. It's easy to overlook this restaurant on Crenshaw in a small kiosk. Please take the time to go there. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
This place is tucked away in a corner on Crenshaw & 110th. It could be easily missed due to most places in this plaza are open for lease and the restaurants name is not located on the sign for the plaza. Any-who, let me get to what you came to read... the good is delicious. It has that feeling of home cooked and the atmosphere in the restaurant is vibrant and comforting. I got the Molotes De Papa Con Chorizo, minus the lettuce and it was delish. Heavy and comforting. I could only get through one and half of them. I also got a large Jamaica. (Large is an understatement, see pic.) My girlfriend got the Huevos Rancheros. I just looked over at her plate, and well... it was demolished. So, looks like it was just as delicious as mine. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. She refilled our chips and salsa twice and provided her insight on what I should order. I definitely recommend this little gem.

Yelp
These chilaquiles were good! They were a little spicy and needed a little salt but overall still good. The over medium eggs definitely took it over the top and the rice and beans were a nice edition also. I would be open to going back and trying some of their other menu items. FYI, this plate cost me $15 with taxes which wasn't bad at all

Yelp
I am so glad that I was able to find this spot on Yelp as Oaxaca Cafe and not like it is on Google as Burrito Caliente. This place has authentic Oaxacan sazón, mom approved. Enough said. We usually go for tlayudas at Guelaguetza but we were driving around the area and decided to stop by this place. It may be hard to spot since they changed their name to Burrito Caliente after COVID to attract a wider range of customers but this place hits the spot. If you have ever been to Oaxaca you will know the vibe as soon as you walk in here, it has the authentic Oaxacan restaurant vibe like those you can find in the colonias del centro de Oaxaca. Such a beautiful restaurant and the owners are so friendly and attentive. Bring your mom for brunch here and enjoy a wonderful meal.

Yelp
I came here in the morning before going to Cosm in LA to watch a game. I ordered a breakfast burrito. The burrito was decent size for the price and came with eggs, hash browns, bacon and ham. Overall the burrito was tasty but, for me, I would have liked the hash browns to be a bit crispier and a bit more flavorful. The service was quick, I ordered it to go and waited less than 10 minutes for my food. The restaurant has indoor seating for roughly 15-20 people and restrooms for customers only. It was clean inside and it was decorated nicely. They accept card and cash. The parking lot is a bit small and there are other businesses on the property. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would go back.

Yelp
Got breakfast burritos here and they were amazing! Got them for my wife and two friends and they both commented on how good the burritos were. The pictures of the menu are a little old and I'm not sure if it is a regular item anymore because I couldn't find it on the menu when I walked in, but I just asked the lady at the counter for chorizo and egg burritos and she made them for me.
google avatar

Alex M. ..

Yelp
One of the best Tlayudas I've had around LA county. Meat was nice and tender with so much flavor packed in. The actual dough was chewy and crispy. Toppings were piled high and tasted so fresh. The chorizo was also a stand out. Had a nice snap to it yet it also melted in your mouth and not too greasy. Would come back to try even more things!

Yelp
Checked this place out on a morning I didn't bring breakfast to work. I ordered the Chilaquiles with green salsa. They were pretty good! I'm definitely planning on returning for the Tlayudas. The place is brand new. I ordered over the phone and my order was ready with in 10 minutes. The prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Great place. Got the tyaluda with all the meat. It huge. Came with in a large pizza box. Has sausage, and other other well-seasoned meats in it. Would get it again. Ordered are a torta, but they have me a burrito. It was food and I stop ate it. It was massive. Some got memelitas and I wouldn't get those again. Maybe I don't know how to eat them right. Next time, I'm going to try the molotes. They sounds delicious.

Yelp
I couldn't tell you how many times I've drove by this business but today I wanted tacos and didn't want to go out my way to get them, so I decided let me give them a go. There's plenty of parking not as much during rush hour, I order 2 asada and 3 pollo tacos w the salsa on the side $1.50 each, it comes with onions and cilantro rounded up to $9. It took several minutes but we got it fresh and hot, I could feel the steam through the foil, once I got home I unraveled these beauties, good meat to tortilla ratio, the red onions threw me off and I didn't even bother w the salsa, just a squirt of lime. My mom thought they were flavorful, to me there was nothing extraordinary about these tacos. The tortillas were good, the chicken might be the most tender and juiciest I've ever had in a taco but It missed the mark with the flavor profile, I'm looking for food that makes me want to return, I won't miss or crave this particular spot but they are food never the less.

Yelp
This little restaurant opened a few months ago and have been eyeing it. Finally stopped in for lunch and gosh were my taste buds having a party. I had a tuna salad with a turkey sandwich ( yes I had all that lol) and of course can't forget my Cafe de olla!!!!!!!! The waitress was really nice and answered all my questions. -They have parking lot on the property. -Restrooms inside -Handicap accessible parking -Accepts cards -Has AC -They have the best Chips & Salsaaaaaa See you guys soon

Yelp
I haven't eaten it yet but my American breakfast is wrong they have me runny fried eggs instead of eggs scrambled well so I'm not eating those- hopefully none of the yolk gets on my other food, yuck. There was a huge language barrier but the lady was nice. Based on how this looks, soggy hash brown patty's instead of real hash browns and barely toasted white toast I asked for wheat toasted well. Bacon isn't cooked enough either. Next time I'll wait for wings 2 go to open. And the Jamaica is just mediocre. Update: it's disgusting. I've never had bacon that was so nasty- the worst.

Yelp
It has amazing food , I love the ambiance of this restaurant and the service is so good, definitely recommend. The mole is tasty too

Matondo M.

Yelp
First time coming to this taco shop. Food was average, nothing really special. Prices were average too. Service was slow even though it was not busy. Probably won't return since there's other taco shops that I like better.

Yelp
I love this place. My family and I go here all the time. They're so friendly and the food is delicious. I also love the fresh squeeze orange juice

Yelp
Rude staff, loud T.V on so she got the order wrong and gave an attitude. She seemed irritated that we interupted her television show. She made racist comments and so we wanted to cancel our order and get a refund and she refused. So we had to call our bank instead. I could never trust that they don't spit in our food after all that attitude.

Tracie H.

Yelp
I've always passed this place. My car was at a mechanic's shop and this place was walking distance from my home. I ordered 2 chicken tamales and she said $4 each because they are big. Ok I'll get 2 and a sweet corn tamale $3.50 for myself. This is why to see before you leave what you got. The $4 tamales wasn't as big a she said and I didn't take a pic. I was more into the tamale I got. I noticed it was really hot. Opened it and under it was burned and hard as a rock!! How can you not notice when puttingim it in the bag why is one side so hard? How can u sell me a $3.50 for a small burned tamale. I know tamales dont cost $4 or $3.50anywhere but I bought them cus shes showing me they're huge. RIP off

Yelp
Good food, friendly service. I like their green chilaquiles and their mole. They also have fresh juices. It's a little gem in Inglewood, hope they survive given the financial impact of COVID. Oh and they have cafe de olla, not sure if there is another local place that does.

martha v.

Yelp
No bueno! Was hoping to get authentic Mexican taste but was disappointed. Nice decor. ‍

Jody B.

Yelp
We lucked into this charming authentic cafe. They bring chips and mole as starters. The mole was rich and chocolaty with just the right spices and medium heat. My tacos were delicious on warm corn tortillas. The service was delightful. Treat yourself.

Ruthy R.

Yelp
Love it! This is really Mexican! We had tlayuda, big plate with juicy tender meat, plentiful plate, enough for 2, we also had mole negro, tasted wonderful and had a great mole consistency, not too thick not to light, café The olla was more on the "too sweet" side for me but very good as well, service excellent. Overall great place to eat! !

Yelp
I wanted to give this a better review as i believe in investing in Mom & pop shops. This rating is taking everything into consideration. Food: red chilaquiles with rice and beans, topped or better yet sprinkled with queso fresco & sour cream. A bit spicy but overall good flavor. Beans, rice & chilaquiles served lukewarm egg were the only thing served hot. Cost: pricey $18 for chilaquiles and small bottled water as they don't offer free water. Service: you order at counter & yell out "hey your order is ready" which you pick up at counter. This is fine with me. However I sat outside the establishment as they have bistro seating. The woman who took my order came to notify me my food was ready because the door was closed so if she had yelled I probably wouldn't have heard her. Or who knows maybe she did. I went to the counter & there is no food, she tells me to get my water first. I respond from where, I had not noticed there were refrigerators where you grab your drinks. So I get my water, come back to counter and still no food. I go back outside to table meanwhile a second customer walks in. About 5mins go by and I check counter - nothing there. About another 5 mins go by and 2nd customer comes out to relay msg -"the lady says your food is ready" I say thank you and customer leaves premises. I retrieve my food - serving size is decent. I go back in to ask for a second napkin, the lady working with attitude says I gave you a napkin, I reply yes you did but I would like another one please- it gets thrown on the counter she accidentally grabbed 2 napkins & realizes and takes one back. Hmm. There must be a napkin shortage I'm un aware about or Someone is not having a good day. Overall: price of food and service not worth it. It's too expensive for poop customer experience & mediocre food. Many other locations nearby with hot food and friendlier service.

Yelp
I'm Mexican with a wonderful mother that cooks excellent Mexican food, which is why I'm picky when it comes to eating out. Finally tried this cute little spot and I was impressed. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their rice and it was all authentic. Something I'd eat at my mom's. We tried the green and red chilaquiles and they were cooked perfectly (crunch and salsa). I am definitely going back to try the memelitas and molotes. Great customer service.

Silvia V.

Yelp
Great customer service, I got a tlayuda was delicious and huge (shareable for two). My husband got Molotes and horchata water

Yelp
Cute, tiny, quiet and sweet decor . I liked that they have a small menu, that focuses on their favorites and specialties..I tried the chicken mole and Molotes de papa con chorizo. It was REALLY good! the service was friendly and warm. I cant wait to try their breakfast and their caldos. I recommend this place! support Latino owned businesses

Yelp
The first waitress we had did not speak English and had a hard time understanding our drink order. There's is no drinks list on the menu except for the natural juices made. Then while wait take our order a bowl of cold stale chips were placed at our table along with dried up salsa that didn't even fill up the small dish. For a family of four we would've needed at least two to begin with. Once the chips were done they did not refill. We then waited until a new waitress walked in that did speak English and she came over to take our order after some minutes of just waiting after already being served our drinks. I ordered a caldo de pollo con pechuga (breast meat) instead I got a lukewarm temp soup with one leg. I then asked about the meat and the waitress then informed they don't have breast which annoyed me because I could have selected a different option. Then my mom ordered the American breakfast with ham. It literally was the type of him that was first sandwich meat and came out of the package that was cooked when the pictures on the menu reflect thick sliced holiday ham so when she received it she was confused. So overall we eat the food because we paid but did not enjoy it and do not plan on returning there again

Myrna R.

Yelp
Delicious !! I had the mole and was sabroso ! Delicious, the mole was so good, made me want to lick the plate lol! My husband has the mulitas and a agua de Jamaica and was really good too. Definitely need to stop and eat this great food with awesome customer service. Great place ! And very clean

Good food, delicious mole, very original. Tacos were also good. I would recommend the place, decent prices.

Ivan E.

Yelp
I loved the memelitas and my cafe de olla. We are definitely coming back soon! Good vegetarian choice!

Jenn M.

Yelp
We found a brochure for this little restaurant in our car windshield after getting out of church, so we decided to go give it a try. We loved it. The food had an authentic home made mexican taste, the portions were generous and the prices very reasonable. The mole was SO GOOD and so were the green chilaquiles. The menu is not tol extensive, which I'm sure works for them to focus on quality. The choices though seem pretty good. The only issue was that they seemed to need help, there was only one lady (very nice by the way) serving all the tables and though, its a small place (about 10 small tables) it got completely full after we got there. It didn't affect the service we received though, since we were one of the first ones. We will be back for sure and plan to bring the rest of the family!

Santos T.

Yelp
I really love this place. The food is fresh and delicious. Their chilaquiles, shakes and mole are on point. They have a pretty good service. I really recommend this place.
