Yelp
This is a tough review to write.
I was in the area and was hungry and drove by this place, saw it, thought hey I will give this small, local business my business. Try something new.
I wish I would have kept driving.
First. As some others have commented. Rude, Rude, RUDE staff.
I walk in, they don't even act one bit happy to have me as a customer.
Personality of a Zombie Apocalypse. I am sorry but if your going to have a job working in a customer facing business. ACT like you care, even if you don't.
I asked for a STEAK Burrito. Remember I said here that I asked or a steak burrito.
The guy asked me what type of tortilla I wanted , again never been there. Was happy to see they had choices. 4 or 5.
He could have instead of pointing to the packages which I had to read upside down, he could have more quickly told me what styles they had, or hey, if you don't to be friendly have a sign listing the types of Tortillas you can choose from.
I picked one, they asked me if I wanted cheese, I said yes please.
They asked me if I wanted rice, yes please
Topping... Uhhhh open your ears. I said steak, stop looking at me like you want to eat my brains like a zombie.
So, I said steak. Oh man, I thought at first, they were giving me a good amount of steak. Until I really looked at the steak. I thought oh boy, this is not going to be great.
They asked me beans, no thank you.
Asked me what type of sauce.
They have 4 sauce containers. Again. They could HAVE A SIGN. Because when I asked him what sauce types... Again. I thought my brains were going to be sucked out with his zombie like tone. UGH.
Then asked me, tomatoes, lettuce and a few other things. They wrapped up my burrito. the guy who I paid seemed to be like he has not been totally overcome by the zombie apocalypse yet. I paid and walking out the door I saw they had napkins and cardboard burrito tray which I thought. Cool.
So I got to my car and opened up the burrito and too my first bite, which was on the side that was just rice. And I thought hey, this is going to be good. The rice had great flavor and was moist, not try. I thought I was in for a treat.
Then I took a bite of the side with the steak.
The steak was cut into cubes, which was nice. The steak had no seasoning on it at all. Chipotle, you get steak there, even if you get it overcooked which it is sometimes, it always has good flavor.
I could not taste any real anything with the steak. It was just there. So overcooked and dry, as a kept chewing, the steak kept pulling as much moisture out of the rice and my mouth as it could. I had to take a drink to swallow.
If I did not get a drink. There would have been N O W A Y I would have been able to eat any of this burrito.
I ate about 90%, because I wanted to have it be good. I wanted to take a bite and have some portion of the steak to have any tenderness at all or flavor, but no luck.
This was about 2pm. After lunch rush, if there was one because of covid right now.
The problem I had with the steak being overcooked is the same problem I have with chipotle if I go an hour or more after a meal rush. Its overcooked. Dry and not very good.
So I will some day, maybe a weekend, about noon time give this place another try. With the vast options you have between the tortilla, filling, sauces and all, all they have to do is cook the steak properly and this place can be a home run.
My daughter loves quesadillas and thought I would get her a chicken one sometime. I still may but my god, if the chicken is as dry as the steak, I know she will not like it.
I will update my review when I go back.
2 stars and honestly I was only going to give 1 star but gave one addition because I think this place has promise.
Also another thing, this place is on Yelp and has many reviews. But its unclaimed by the owners, which means they probably don't read reviews and cant respond and with teh attitude I saw today, they probably dont care what their customers think.
