Google
This was the best experience ever. For what ever reason, it has been hard to find a good old-fashioned bean and cheese burrito. These burritos were different, the salsa was different, but they were DELICIOUS. Like when I was little. Perfect crisp on the outside and Perfect amount of cheese to frijol. I like extra cheese. Best part, There were no hidden ingredients like chopped onions! Thank you so much for the perfect burrito!!

Google
There is nothing quite like a birria burrito from Burritos La Palma. Anytime I'm in the Santa Ana area I have to hit this spot up. The service is always friendly and they are quick to get out the food. The birria burritos are not to be missed with delicious, tender, and juicy beef and the best flour tortilla around. Pro Tip: I always order some extra burritos so I can heat them up later at home as well.

Google
Stopped for a try of California's best burritos and had the birria burrito and a bean and cheese burrito. The bean and cheese burrito was very soft, perfect temperature and comforting. I would definitely recommend the bean and cheese. The birria one was lacking substance. I felt like it was missing that fatty flavor from birria. The hot sauce was watery and 'eh'. A place that didn't have seating in the restaurant should have a salsa bar in my opinion. But I didn't mind eating it in my car. Overall, I will be back to try other food items and the bean and cheese burrito again.

Google
Delicious food! Other locations have more seating. Good customer service and the food comes out quick.

Google
If you like cheese with your meat, then this is for you. There wasn't much of anything else in the burrito or quesadilla. Ordered a Birria de res and Chicharron burrito and Queso y birria quesadilla. A lot of good reviews for this place, I don't get it! There is no dine in.

Willie Watkins

Google
Best bean and cheese burritos ever!!! This place is incredible. The house made tortillas are perfectly crafted and soft. The burritos themselves are small, so ordering 2 or 3 is good for one person. Always Start with the frijoles con queso, but the con todo is delicious as well. Hard to leave here without taking a frozen box home too — Long Beach seriously needs a location please!! 🌯

Google
Portions are comparable to Taco Bell despite being exponentially higher in price and lower in quality. Salsa is so watered down it's better compared to clamato juice with a sprinkle of green onion (for some reason) than salsa. I would have rather eaten gas station taquitos than these burritos.

Ron Deo

Google
As advertised by Jonathan Gold and Michelin, these burritos are small but packed with flavor. The staff here was friendly to help select the burritos that would fill anyone's taste palate. Sadly can't dine in but able to make orders to go and enjoy at home.

Scooter C.

Yelp
The platonic ideal of a burrito. Simple. And perfect. I debate slightly less simple (con todo: birria with beans and cheese) vs simplest (pure birria). I'm coming down on the side of just birria because it's just great -- perfect tortilla, perfect meat stuffing, serrano chile on the side. If I had a complaint it's that their accompanying salsa is boring. The good news is the burrito is so tasty that doesn't need the addition of salsa, I just occasionally bite into the serrano that comes with for a bit of a picante burst.

Leana N.

Yelp
Burritos are more handheld side and not a defined American burrito. Meat has great flavoring. Pricing for three burritos and a plate with two burritos with rice and beans with a side as 35. Not inexpensive. My recommendation is to check the amount of salsa's before you leave. I am disappointed and knocked off a star because we got two salsa for five burritos. Not that I was expecting one for each but maybe a third. This was a called in pick up with a 10-15 min estimate but was done when I arrive about 5 mins later

Lori K.

Yelp
Love the bean and cheese here! Handmade flour tortillas grilled nicely so your burrito doesn't pop. The size is smaller than regular burrito so grab two!

Jeff Y.

Yelp
In the mood for burritos, so we trekked out to Burritos La Palma. It's still takeout only so we had to eat our food in the car. Burritos La Palma is known for authentic Mexican burritos with excellent chewy flour tortillas. Prices are fair under $5 each burrito, though there are fewer filling flavors on the menu than I remember. I tried a torta this time too, which was yummy, though I prefer my bread even more toasted. The burritos were solid; we got deshebrada, frijoles con queso, birria con frijoles y queso, and chicharrón (spicy) burritos. We were also given salsa and fresh serrano peppers. Definitely satisfies the craving for burritos, just don't come in expecting gigantic California-style ones!

Cindy R.

Yelp
This establishment is an order and go. ZERO sitting. Their menu is small. Price is reasonable. Now for what I ordered: Birria and deshebrada burritos. I enjoyed the desherbada vs the birria burrito. It had more flavor.

Yan L.

Yelp
This review is long overdue! Burritos La Palma is a place I'm forever craving after moving away from SoCal. Their burritos and salsa leave me coming back for more. The size of their burritos is for sure smaller than what you'd expect but they deliver quality. Bean & Cheese - A forever favorite. Perfect balance between all the ingredients in this one. This is comfort food for me. Chicken Tinga - Another favorite. Love this when I'm wanting a little more than just a bean & cheese. Has a good amount of flavor and a small kick. Shredded Beef - it's been a while since I got this.. can't really describe it right now but this is another good one!

Fatima P.

Yelp
Their burritos may be small but they are packed full of flavor. The birria burritos are unlike anything else I've tried. Really good quality meat and flavor especially for the price. To the ones who "know" how a good birria tastes, this will not disappoint. To those that gave less than a 5 are bitter.

Michael C.

Yelp
"Burritos La Palma" epitomizes culinary excellence with its concise yet carefully crafted menu. The short menu is a testament to their dedication to perfecting each menu option, ensuring a consistently high-quality dining experience. While the exterior and interior might not grab your attention at first glance, the flavors inside are nothing short of fantastic. The slightly smaller than normal burritos are bursting with taste, and what they lack in size, they more than make up for in flavor. Personally, I can't pick a favorite as I find myself indulging in one of each during every visit. "Burritos La Palma" comes highly recommended for those who appreciate quality over quantity in their burrito experience.

Valerie S.

Yelp
Definitely the BEST bean & cheese burrito I've tasted since my Abuelita made them for me (God rest her soul!) This place is not to be judged by the outside, unless you are reading their Michelin Star sticker! Service was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our order. There's no indoor seating unfortunately, but the good news is, eating a burrito in your car isn't too hard! I will definitely be craving another one very soon!

Kristi H.

Yelp
So thankful my friend brought these to a hang out in downtown Santa Ana... they are incredible!!!! I initially scoffed at the size (be prepared they are SMALL!!) but the flavors do not disappoint! Best are the Con Todo (cheese, Birria and beans) it is $4.95 for one so you will need to order a few to get full. Do not sleep on these burritos!!!

Jessica A.

Yelp
I first came across Burritos La Palma from the Netflix show Taco Chronicles. Looked great, but didn't live near one until recently and decided to give it a try. I can definitely say that these are arguably thee best burritos I've ever had. The first bite you take has so much flavor, juice, and spice mixed all into one. My absolute favorite is the chicken tinga- it has soft potatoes inside that just add a layer of goodness. The tomato salsa that comes with it enhances all the flavors it completely takes over your tastebuds. If I had to eat these for the rest of my life, I'd be very happy. Trust me when I say, this place is a MUST.

Tran L.

Yelp
can't believe me it took so long to try this place! These burritos are different from what I'm used to-- the big fat thick burritos. I honestly prefer these! The employee told me people get anywhere from 2-3 burritos but I wasn't too hungry so I just got one. i got the tinga burrito and it was so good. forgot to take a picture of what it actually looks like because I was to excited to start eating oops hehe. the salsa it comes with is very light but compliments it well. The flour tortilla is so good and bouncy. It comes with 1 spicy pepper and it goes super well with it. I shared the special with my bf and it was sooo yummy. Not overly rich and heavy like what you get at tex mex places. Highly recommend trying this and a burrito or 2!

Neil J.

Yelp
I am so torn about writing a review for this place. Let me start off by saying that my star rating is for the flavor/quality of the food. If I was rating it on value, I would have to go lower. What do I mean? Well, the burritos are really, really good. There is no doubt that the meat, beans, cheese, tortillas and sauce are on point. They have the taste thing dialed in, 100%. The problem for me is the price. These are little snack-sized burritos (they look like flautas), so a normal person would need to get at least 2 or 3 to make a meal. I honestly could and would eat here every day if the prices weren't so outrageous. The other day I ordered the plate special (two burritos and a scoop of beans) and I added a 3rd burrito. The cost was in the neighborhood of $21. YIKES. It was one of those times where my tummy was happy but my wallet was sore. Bottom line: If you haven't eaten here, you need to try their food. It is really good and your mouth will be happy. You will have to decide if you're willing to fork out the cash to come back for a 2nd visit.

Yelp
Burritos La Palma gained fame after being featured on a Netflix show that celebrated the humble burrito. Despite the pandemic, my daughter and I were thrilled to discover that this restaurant was located nearby in neighboring Santa Ana. Upon arriving, we saw a line of people waiting to order, which was a testament to the restaurant's popularity. The parking lot was under construction during our visit, but the community's teamwork made it easy to get in and out. We decided to try the birria burrito, bean and cheese, and the con toda, which has beans, cheese, and birria. When we got home, we eagerly tried our new discovery and were blown away by the delicious flavors. My personal favorite is the con todo and beans and cheese. The savory beans and delicious tortillas taste just like grandma's (yikes lets keep that between us). We also discovered that the house made tortillas are available for purchase by the package at random times, which was a delightful surprise. Overall, Burritos La Palma lived up to its hype and delivered mouthwatering burritos that we cannot wait to have again. The popularity of this restaurant is well-deserved, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican food experience.

Yelp
I was recommended this place. I was recommended this place I had I was informed that they didn't have a large menu, but what they did they do right and boy do they do it right! When I asked what the best selling burrito was, they informed me that it was the bean and cheese burrito, I had my doubts because it was so simple, but when I tried it, it is now my new favorite here. Thought it didn't look like much, but the surprising simplicity and flavor was amazing. The birria burrito was also very good, although I wish I had some consommé to go with it. The chicharron burrito had an amazing flavors, however, I would have preferred personally a firmer texture. However, if you prefer a really tender and soft burrito, this is the way to go. What intrigued me was the deshebrada burrito, I really enjoyed it. The flavor was wonderful. I really enjoyed the additional texture of the potatoes in this. I felt like this was sleeper because it seems so simple. Finally, the chicken Tinga that I have was amazing. It had a wonderful smoky flavor. And a wonderful Tinga sauce. Also, they had a couple of interesting fermented, probiotic beverages called tepache, which is reminiscent of a pineapple kombucha. Although this location did not have any seating, indoor or out, and it was take out, only the service was absolutely friendly and very helpful and making decisions on my orders. Although, as you can see above, I can make a decision and ordered almost everything. The service here also informed me that there is a Fourth Street location once I mentioned the lack of seating. They were even so kind as to mark every single burrito for me since they knew this was my first time here. I really enjoyed the service as well as the food which was amazing! I also realized that this is on the Michelin's Bib Gourmand (the amazing food for a budget price list for the Michelin). Which is totally loose up to since each burrito was around three or so dollars. They're not gigantic breeders, but they are very tasty. I highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
Love this place so much Tastes like a home cooked burrito And the salsa is perfect too Come here all the time Worth checking out forsure

Brendan B.

Yelp
Crazy amounts of flavor packed into tiny burritos. The tortillas alone are amazing. These are my favorite burritos in OC

Thomas M.

Yelp
This is the place. I asked my wife what she wanted for lunch for her bday, we're in town for the week, and she said La Palma. Never disappoints. We each got two but prolly could have eaten 8 and felt bad about ourselves. We both got the bierra and I got the chicken. The meat is unreal, and the flavor tells you why they had that Michelin star. If you're anywhere close to the area, you should go. Note they do not have tables and everything is TOGO.

Bruno M.

Yelp
Been dreaming about the Birria burritos here, and finally made my way back! The con todo is incredible and super juicy and flavorful and honestly so good. If you're around, do yourself a favor and try it! Parking is awful though and the roads have been under construction forever which makes it not fun to drive to. Also, there's no seating and no bathrooms so you have to find somewhere to do all that or eat in your car, which uncomfortable because of how juicy everything is and the salsa makes it that much better but also messier.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Big fan. This place has little snack sized burritos which are perfect for when you're in the mood for something light. The place is pretty tiny, definitely a grab and go type of spot So I Played it's bit safe and got bean and cheese since I was also feeding family, but yo sometimes simplicity is key. The flavor on the tortilla was my favorite, and I liked that I could actually taste a pronounced flavor of cheese and not just straight frijoles. Am Ordering the whole menu next time for sure. Service was fast and friendly, was in and out in like 10 minutes. Parkings kind of weird though lol, but I'm sure you'll figure it out

Liz G.

Yelp
Have to try when other claim they have the best bean and cheese burritos. Even a 2019 Michelin recognition. I say cheese and bean burrito since there was an overload of cheese compared to the beans. It was good for sure. But I can't say best I ever had. I mean it's kind of hard to mess one up. The tortilla was definitely tasty. Also got the birria bean cheese ones. Need of course. Also tasted good. But I can't give this place 4 stars based on what I ate. I can say the lady at the register was very nice. So service was 4 stars.

Jesse R.

Yelp
I've had burritos la palma several times over the last 2 years, here's my take on what I've sampled: Chicken Tinga burrito- Pretty dang tasty, great subtle smoky flavor. Just chicken and sauce. Con Todo- I'm not a big refried beans dude, but this works well together with the birria and cheese. Deshebrada- Tasty green chili, unique flavor. Birria- I like birria, but this needs the added flavors in the Con Todo to mkae it pop. So-so for me. Torta Especial-This was terrible. The pork patty looked and felt like it came from a child's cooking toy set. Flavor was non existent, and it was rubbery. Burritos are small, so it's a bit overpriced. "Salsa" is like tomato water, but has decent flavor if you can dip a burrito in water. I just don't get it. It's worth a try and I partake when my co-workers get take out, but I wouldn't frequent it solo.

paulina g.

Yelp
I have had this bookmarked for a while since I came across it on one IG and finally made it a point to try it since I was in the area. First off menu is straight to the point but if your indecisive like me you end up just ordering a little bit of everything in which I'm glad I did. Since I'm never in the area I decided to take advantage and order pretty much every burrito option. My order consisted of tinga, birria, birria con todo which included beans and cheese, chicharron, deshebrada, and bean and cheese. I also couldn't resist adding a fresh pack of flour tortillas that they sell you which are the ones used for the burritos. The employee was very helpful and super friendly, quick service too and they include salsa and Chile serranos with every order. Very clean, also no seating inside just for to go. At first bite I can understand why they're so popular so simple but the flavor and fresh tortillas just do it. Just a quick easy to go food too. I would def be back!

Gabriela V.

Yelp
La Palma secures a solid four stars for its simple yet classic meal offerings. The birria burrito, my personal favorite, is delicious, but be aware it's on the smaller side by American standards. The flavors are on point, and the made-to-order approach ensures freshness and quality. One thing to note is that La Palma tends to close early, so it's wise to check the hours before heading over to avoid any disappointments. Overall, a reliable spot for a satisfying and straightforward dining choice.

Glenys B.

Yelp
We came here for the first time during a bike ride, we were not let down!!! If you like smaller flavorful burritos then this is the place. Similar to sonoratown in DTLA

Stacey M.

Yelp
Well, I came here based on the 5 star reviews and really was not that impressed. Burittos were overly expensive for what they were. The buritto was more tortilla than anything else. No seating indoors.

Ritz C.

Yelp
Service Great ! Food Delicious! Every item we've eaten there is perfect! So tastee Very clean!

Brendan B.

Yelp
I have heard about these burritos and finally got to try them. They absolutely lived up to the hype. Just a simple bean and cheese burrito is made fantastic by using fantastic ingredients. This is my favorite burrito place in OC

Joan L.

Yelp
These are slim meat filled burritos. Two of them was very filling for me. I got the Birria and chicken Tinga. Both were delicious but the Chicken Tinga was favorite. My husband had the Chicharrón and Deshebrada. Both of his burritos were spicier than mine. He was not a big fan of the Chicharrón as the texture was a bit flabby, but the Deshebrada was delicious. It's definitely something different than the typical burrito but I really enjoyed it.

Edwin B.

Yelp
HIGHLY and I mean HIGHLY recommend Burritos La Palma! I wasn't expecting much being a burrito spot HOWEVER, was I wrong the burritos are very flavorful and yes though small they pack a punch! I got 2... should have listened to the cashier I should have gotten 4.

Rigo S.

Yelp
These burritos are good not to big or small the flour tortillas taste good and the salsas give that extra flavor

Noah L.

Yelp
Despite all the high ratings, I don't really understand the hype. The tortilla was fine but the stuffing is okay at best. Despite the price being under $5 per burrito, you're also getting very little food

Nate T.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been back to this place and what a better way to start the Labor Day Weekend. They greeted me when I walked in after getting rockstar parking they have for guests. But in all honesty, this place is a must anytime you can get your hands on these burritos. From the handmade tortillas to the Mexican beverage selection, their simple salsa, each burrito no matter the choice is a perfect bite every time. I always get the bean n cheese as well as a birria burrito for my go to and I always have to add another bean n cheese burrito in case I get hungry later.

Susan N.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Seriously I find myself craving the birria burrito every now & then. I just think they're sooo perfect made. I love that they're on the small & thinner side, the meat is so tender & juicy, tortilla is so soft and just delicious. I believe they're homage tortilla. I honestly rave about this place to everybody. The only thing is, I do wish their salsa was spicier or that they had different options of salsa & table seating so we could eat inside. Other than that, no complaints! It's always a hit for me.

Scott K.

Yelp
So if I were to rate the burritos by itself I would rate this place around a 4. They're flavorful and I like how I could get a variety of fillings as they're smaller and cheaper than the typical burrito you find and generally they all taste good. Unfortunately though the salsa they make here is undoubtedly the worst salsa I've ever had. Its as though they took the liquid and dregs of the pico de Gallo at El Pollo Loco and mixed in a little tomato puree. Honestly adding their salsa makes the burritos worse and it tastes better with Tapatio or Cholula. So if I were rating the pico de Gallo juice they call salsa it would be a 1. Average is 2.5 but I'll be nice and round up to 3. Too bad salsa game is so bad I would recommend otherwise

Andrea D.

Yelp
Don't be deceived! These seemingly small looking burritos are FILLED! Not only were they flavorful and packed with a punch, but the meats were so tender. I definitely recommend getting the Birria Burrito for sure as it was probably the best I've had. Caution, these burritos are for sure messy but that just means they are extremely juicy! I have been wanting to come here for a long time and I am happy to say they have exceeded my expectations.

Kapo K.

Yelp
Contemplating between 4 star or 5 star. I decided to go with 5 Cuz if I didn't see the Netflix special, it's a solid 5. Now I went there with expectations, I ma contemplating and that's not fair. Right? 5 star because the birria with beans and cheese burrito resonated days after I ate it. It was memorable. You know what, that beans. They were good. I wanted to take 1 more bite. If thats the feeling you leave me with, that's golden, sir. But meat quality tastes like single digit $ burritos and well. Well, it is single digit pay, so I guess I should pat on your back for keeping this venue afloat. Hey I am from San Diego and I was impressed by the fact that I saw a word tinga in the me menu, alright? But this place has my attention. But not enough for solid 5 star. But I had to think about it for 3 days to come to that decision.

Gabby B.

Yelp
My hometown burritos are amazing! I was super excited to try these burritos and as soon as I found out that this place originated from my hometown in Mexico I was beyond ecstatic! They only have a couple of options so I went with their birria burrito and their combination (beans, cheese). The burritos are not too big and they are not packed with stuff so if you are hungry I recommend getting at least 4 to start with! I just have to say the tortillas were amazing! I believe they make them in house and they completely made the burrito super delicious! The birria was nice and tender and filled with flavor. I also really liked their house sauce, it wasn't spicy but it was very tasty and it gave the burritos that extra umff! I quickly devoured my burritos and wished I had ordered more. Can't wait to come back! I can't wait to come back!

Angelica S.

Yelp
don't know why this place has a michelin but it's literally worse than taco bell. Nothing special about it and they don't give you veggies lol. honestly a really plain burrito

Michelle L.

Yelp
So simple, so good! Prices are okay. Not expensive but the burritos are also small. The birria was good but the beef with green chiles was the best, in my opinion. Like those frozen Tina's burritos but fresh and 1000000% better! Just a bit of that nostalgia when you take that first bite. Yum.

Tracy S.

Yelp
Every single bite is delicious. Small burritos. Buy more then you plan or usually buy because they are small and because they are divine. Buy a pack of tortillas as well. Even if you only eat them with butter. You are welcome!

Nolan S.

Yelp
I stopped into this place after hearing or reading about it in a publication I can't remember. I just knew I had to try it. I was in the area for work so I headed over. I found the place in a small nondescript strip mall. Inside was all white and there were no decorations or frills. The food spoke for itself. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito which was only a couple bucks even in this day and age. It was a bit surprising to me. I wasn't able to eat in so I had to take it to go. The burrito was very small (hence the low price) but it may have been the best simple bean and cheese burrito I have ever eaten. I would definitely come back and I would not make the mistake of getting just one burrito next time.

D'juan C.

Yelp
I like it and I wish we had some of these spots near LA or Inglewood. Next time I'm in an area that has this spot I'm there for sure

Aisha A.

Yelp
Keeping it simple and delicious over here. We saw Burritos La Palma on a food show (I don't recall which one) and knew we had to try it. Burritos are small, so 2 - 3 per person is a good portion recommendation. The tortillas are fresh and the ingredients are simple. We tried the birria burritos, frijoles y queso burritos, and queso y birria quesadillas. Each one is simple - what's in the name is what's inside the food items. The cashier was very kind and patient with us - we asked questions and wavered about what we wanted to try. They have a small selection of bottled and canned drinks and it's a take-out only place - we ate at a nearby park and it was a perfect picnic. We loved it so much we went back and ordered a dozen more burritos to take home and share.

Samantha P.

Yelp
I absolutely love Burritos la Palma! It seems a bit expensive given the size of the burritos so they aren't my all the time place when I want a burrito but I still keep coming back because the burritos are so good!! For my the test is always the bean and cheese burrito and theirs is my favorite off the menu (controversial I know!) the chicharron is also great, I love the hint of spice it has. Their birria is my third favorite, I don't always get it and when I do I love the flavor I just want more of the liquid to like dip it into if that makes sense. Short version if you haven't been here you have to try it! Worth the price for sure

Gabby K.

Yelp
Wow what a spot! I do admit that one of the only reasons that I tried this spot out is because of the taco chronicles on Netflix, but it's no different from a good bookmark, right? I was so excited to see that we had a place in Oc that was pretty close that offers on of a kind authentic burritos. Upon waking in I noticed that the menu was short sweet and straight to the point, burritos la Palma knows what they are good at and sticks to it! We ended up getting 2 birria combo plates and a few other side items as well. The total was very reasonable I believe under $35 for all the stuff I got including drinks. As I waited for our number to be called people started to pour in one by one all ordering the same combinations that I landed on so I knew I got the right thing! Less than 5 minutes later our number was called, so there's no need to go to too far after ordering your meal. Unfortunately there's no place to sit and enjoy your food at this time so car dining was the location go the day. When I opened up my combo I was pleasantly surprised by the portion, it was a rice beans and salad combo with two handmade fresh flour tortillas filled with birria and sauces, I also ordered a quesadilla and one other burrito to try. One bite into the birria combo burrito and I knew Burritos La Palma was not messing around. These perfectly rolled flour tortilla were so fresh it was unbeatable and the birria rolled inside made this wondering perfect pairing. The flavors were unmatched, it wasn't what I was typically used to do when eating birria and that's what made it stand out, it genuinely was one of a kind.

Rene C.

Yelp
Horrible. Bland. I tried 3 flavors... Salsa was like water. No flavor, Overpriced. Nothing to write home about. As you can see I was very disappointed. If you want authentic mexican food try Las Consuelos, You wont be dissapointed. They blow Burritos La Palma away.

Sarah G.

Yelp
Perfect, delicious burritos. Very simple. Order 2 and enjoy! All flavors are to-die-for. Quick service too.

Danny H.

Yelp
this place beyond hits the spot. From the quality of the tortillas to the beans & cheese, regardless of which burrito you get, you're in for a great meal. My personal faves are the birria and shredded beef. Chicken tinga is good too.

Edith G.

Yelp
Must go! My favorite are the bean and cheese burritos. They are small so make sure to order at least 2.
