I've been wanting to try Busaba for a while since I arrived in CO, so my folks and I decided to make a trip to Louisville for lunch. We were seated immediately even though it was peak lunch time, and the hostess couldn't have been nicer. Once she seated us, we talked a bit about the menu and her favorite items--we ended up ordering one of them.
It took a bit for our server to come by our table to take our order, but granted, the restaurant was semi-busy. Our server was also very sweet, so this made up for the delay in getting our order placed.
For starters, we got the chicken puff (cut into thirds), and shared the pumpkin curry with chicken, pad see ewe with chicken, and drunken noodle with beef--all mild+. Although I'm Korean and can handle spice well, I've learned to always err on the side of caution with Thai food lol. I could have gone for medium spiciness with the food here, but I sometimes want to enjoy my food without my tastebuds being on fire.
The food here was good, but it felt like something was missing, flavor wise. I've had a lot of delicious Thai food on the east coast, and to be honest, this didn't quite compare. But I'll take what I can get here in Boulder! Definitely better than another Thai restaurant I went to the other week. Next time, though, I would only get 2 entrees and an appetizer since we had to take a good amount of our food home.
Maybe I'll try the Baseline Rd location the next time I need a Thai food fix.
