Hold Onto Summer With This Crab and Corn Fritters Recipe | Eater

"Chef Joe Krywucki’s Chesapeake Bay–inspired kitchen in Clarksville, Maryland highlights a jumbo lump crab and corn fritter that he considers the restaurant’s best representation of the region. The fritters are a sweet-and-savory mix of a light batter (flour, baking powder, sugar, chives, eggs, and heavy cream) folded with fresh corn kernels and Maryland jumbo lump crab—gently combined to preserve the lump meat—and then pan- or shallow-fried until golden. They are served with a smoky chipotle–lime aioli (mayonnaise blended with pureed chipotles in adobo and fresh lime) that provides tang and heat to balance the rich, corn-forward fritters." - Patty Diez

I have been here a few times for dinner, it's been a convenient and nice equidistant meeting spot for one of my friends and I. The food is always terrific, service is always friendly and gracious, even if a little uneven at times. The venue itself is spacious and comfortable, warm and welcoming. As for appetizers, I've enjoyed their pan-seared scallops, and for entrees, they do a great steak frites (delicious bearnaise butter!) Generally speaking, I've either enjoyed or liked everything on the menu I've tried. Cocktails could use a little work to be more well balanced, but are generally good. Glad this place continues to do well!

We had a party of 9 and went for lunch on a Sunday. The staff was very nice in placing us in our own room. Server was very nice and the food was delicious. I had chicken & waffles and French onion soup. The waffle was very tasty, I just wish they made a larger waffle. The chicken was delicious. The french onion soup was one of the best I have ever had. My husband had a burger and he said it was very good. The one thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars was the time it took to receive our food. Our server kept coming and giving us updates, which why I fully appreciated his service. Not his fault the kitchen was understaffed. I would reccommend for good food, but come with patience for food delivery time.

Overall Experience, 1.5/5: We won’t be coming back. This spot had been on our list for months, and we were genuinely excited to give it a try, but it turned out to be a major disappointment. Food/Drink, 2.75/5: The food was somewhat of a saving grace. We tried the wings, shrimp tacos, fries, and bacon fillets. However, I’d recommend skipping the fries – they were bland and lacked crispiness, more like eating fried mashed potatoes. The wings and Chari's Lemonade were the highlights, though the wings were just average. The shrimp tacos were decent but nothing extraordinary. The fillets were well-cooked, but the sauce had an odd aftertaste. Surprisingly, the asparagus had the most flavor, while the mashed potatoes were quite plain. Pricing, 1.5/5: The pricing isn’t worth it. The quality of the food doesn’t justify the cost. We spent nearly $100 on what we ordered, and it felt like a waste. You’re better off going elsewhere. Service, 0.5/5: TERRIBLE SERVICE. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. To make matters worse, the server attending the table next to us kept walking by without acknowledging us, not even offering water. Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 3.5/5: It’s a simple restaurant, but the rooftop outdoor area is a nice touch. It’s spacious and quiet, making for a pleasant atmosphere.

Stopped in on a Sunday and the crab dip was good, especially the bread with it. Had the bailey's cheesecake for dessert with strawberries which was delicious! Climbed a rack of stairs to get up there, take the elevator for sure. Server Jack was nice. I like the water fountain mounted on the wall as you walk in. A few more water sounds and man that woukd be relaxing. Bathroom was nicely laid out as well.

I helped to plan a happy hour event in the B&P beautiful space that is surrounded by windows and a lovely stone fireplace. Rachel and Nick were so wonderful and accommodating to work with from beginning to end. They served beautifully prepared and delicious platters. Jackson and Brady, the bar staff, were welcoming, friendly and made great drinks. This is a perfect and beautiful space for celebrating any occasion.

Google
3.5/5 First time going to this restaurant. We were the second couple to sit at the bar, it was quiet but slowly got busy. Drinks took a while to come out. We got the Hop on Pop and Old Fashioned. Both drinks were good. For food, we ordered the crab dip, slow roasted ribeye dip sandwich with fries and a Caesar salad. The dip and the sandwich were great but the salad had no dressing on it and lettuce was very wet. The salad cost $13 which I think is overpriced for what you are getting. As the bar got busier our bartenders did not check up on us or ask if we wanted any other drinks. Another bartender showed up and was quickly trying to help out. What was annoying was that they went to the people on our right, then to the people on our left and then checked on us. We had been waiting a while to order another drink and to ask for a side of dressing. The other guests around us seemed a bit annoyed with the service as well. Overall, I was underwhelmed. It’s a bit pricey and we didn’t get amazing service. I didn’t appreciate being ignored while other guests around us were being checked on.

Google
Been here for dinner a couple of times now and the food was great both times. The only misfire is that my fries were very flimsy and soft at my second visit. I sent them back to the kitchen and received ones that were a little more done, but they still weren't near the perfectly crispy ones I had on my first visit. The pretzel appetizer was excellent with the accompanying cheese dip and mustard. The prime rib dip sandwich was perfectly executed with very tender meat inside soft bread that didn't fall apart when dipped in the au jus. Save room for dessert because I don't think there's a bad dish on that menu. The chocolate and caramel mousse cake is a slice of heaven and big enough for 2 to share. They have a really fun trivia game in the back bar on Thursday nights that is free to play. I can't wait to return and try more things on the menu!

Another successful event held at Bushel and a Peck. This time we were in their smaller private room. They also have a fantastic, large private dining area, as well as outdoor seating. I highly recommend them if you are looking to book a private party or corporate event. Or just a date night or client meeting. The staff is great, the venue is beautiful and the food is amazing.

Yelp
We found this place during restaurant week last year. The staff was welcoming and professional, and the food so delicious that It didn't take long for me and my husband to designate it our special date place. Tonight we returned for our anniversary. Folks, let me tell you, the whole entire joint knew it was our special night and they ALL took the time to make it memorable. Jack, our server was a great guy, the bartender made a few fantastic cocktails, and before it was all done my husband and I were sitting at the same side of the table holding hands and smiling. This restaurant is a little gem , worth a visit. Try the scallops if you can get them!

Yelp
We started with the calamari appetizer, which came out quickly and was perfectly cooked--crispy and flavorful. For our main dishes, we ordered the pork schnitzel, beef short rib, and the crab cake meatballs with spaghetti. All three were delicious and well-prepared. Service was a bit on the slower side, likely because we were seated outside during a live music event at the Common Kitchen, but the relaxed ambiance made for an enjoyable experience. While the prices are on the higher end, the generous portions and quality of the food made it worthwhile.

Yelp
Great Friday night out. Our server was awesome and had great tips about the menu. The food was excellent... did the crispy Brussels sprouts as an app which was a great call. It was hard to say which entree was better - the schnitzel or the short ribs. They were both delicious. We will be back!

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with a variety of seating options. Inside tables and booths away from the bar area and lots of booths and bar stools at the bar. There is also a large outside patio area for good weather dining. Warning though the main road is nearby so you will hear traffic. Most menu items delicious and are very well prepared and presented on the plate. Waitstaff is always excellent. 1 complaint we had was the crab dip. It was lots of cream, mayo etc but little to no crab meat. If it was there it must have been pulverized and tasteless. The bread served with it comes warm and crispy! We enjoy dining here but can't recommend the crab dip.
google avatar

Adrianna G.

Yelp
The crab dip is phenomenal. I got the chicken and waffles, my mom had the braised beef short rib, both were really flavorful. Other favorites include the house made pretzel and the crispy calamari. The decor is inviting. I've never had any issues with the service.

Yelp
(4) ~ very good overall brunch & service (Chari) Note: To attract more Brunch folks they should open earlier (ie 10:00 -or- 10:30 am) DRINKS: ** Water (tap) = (4) very good, must be filtered;) ** Orange Juice (OJ) = (4) very fresh * Coffee = (3.25) pretty good, but there's definitely room for improvement;) FOOD: ** Tater Tots = (4.25) Very crispy ** Cinnamon Roll (see photo) = (4.15) Very tasty ** Sliced Ribeye Breakfast Sandwich = (4) very tasty ** Heath Bar Bread Pudding = (4) very good

Yelp
I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. The cocktails were great and the crab omelette was delicious. Apple French toad not so great. Service was great and the ambiance is lovely. The space is perfect for larger gatherings like bday parties. It's nice and open with outside dining options. Located in a cute shopping center, would return again!

Yelp
Had my baby shower here and the brunch food was delicious! The staff was very nice and the guests enjoyed the event. Highly recommend doing an event here. The room is spacious and the food and service were great!
google avatar

Sadie L.

Yelp
Such an adorable restaurant! The host was so pleasant and seemed really excited to tell us about the restaurant concept. He made sure to hi-light that they had no freezer, meaning all of the food they use comes from local farms and waters. The food tasted very clean and hit all the notes described in the menu. The restaurant is on the second floor above a sort of food market and the whole area was very clean and welcoming.

Yelp
We went on a Friday for lunch and they weren't staffed to serve their menu. They didn't have a bartender and they were out of a lot of things on the menu. The service was incredibly slow and the food was okay. The ambiance is cute and they have nice indoor outdoor seating options. I bet it would be nicer for a dinner, but I honestly feel like you shouldn't have a menu you can't support with the staff and ingredients you have at a given time. The scallops were definitely the best part. The pasta, chicken sliders, and asparagus fries were all just okay. They have gendered multi-stall restrooms.

Yelp
Bushel and Peck summary: went for lunch on a Friday and overall the food was good, but even though it felt like a slow day, the place still felt understaffed. service: the staff was kind, but it was one of those situations where we hardly ever saw our wait staff. There was literally one person doing all of the waiting during this shift. I don't know if this is normally what it's like for lunch here, but it makes me think that maybe it'll be a better experience going for dinner when they have more support. For reference, it took about 90 minutes to get drinks and food; due to a combination of not seeing our wait staff, but also the kitchen seemed to be similarly understaffed. food: the food had some ups and downs. We ordered a few cocktails which were good. - Chicken sliders were okay, the meat was a little bit on the dry side, but overall tasted decent. - We also had the shrimp/scallop pasta. The shrimp was definitely overcooked, but the scallops were seasoned and cooked well. - Asparagus fries felt kind of lazy. None of the batter actually stuck to the asparagus fries and the sauce felt really basic (like a ketchup + dressing sauce). All in all, the food was mediocre on average (probably like a 3.5-4 out of 5), but the service being on the slower side for us brought it down a bit lower to a 3. I do think people would generally have a better experience if they were to go for dinner time when they have more staff present and Bushel and Peck is also located in Clarksville Commons which is a central hub for events. The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio that overlooks the area, so there's potential for a great meal, I just wouldn't necessarily recommend their lunch.

Yelp
The food was good, but not great. I had the crab omelet. The cubed potatoes were old and reheated. One of the people in our party didn't get their food with the other food and had to sit and wait for about 10 minutes to get their food. The service was slow and it isn't because the place was busy. The Restuarant itself is nice. We were sat outside initially and had to be moved inside because there were no umbrellas on the tables and it was 85.

Yelp
Warning: recent change of management leading to major disappointment. We've been here several times, so mix of past and new photos. This was one of our fave places to eat but recently returned and super disappointed. They've not only scaled down the menu and ingredients in the dishes but also quality of the ingredients. Caesar salad had mixed greens and shaved parm now is only iceberg with grated Parm for $14. No more pretzel bread which was a fave. The crab cake no longer has anything green on the plate such as asparagus, and short rib dishes are no longer on the menu. We were looking forward to returning but not worth it.

Yelp
Good location. Plenty nearby parking. Beautiful restaurant with indoor or outdoor seating, both pleasant. Great food, great service. Always a pleasure !!!

Yelp
Excellent space, lots of lights, very chill during the day. Food is made of high quality ingredients and the bartenders are attentive. Come during the day, avoid the crowd.

Yelp
Bushel and Peck We returned to one of our favorite places. The menu selection is not very broad but what you can order was all delicious and well prepared. They have a larger menu selection for beverage of wines, whiskeys, beer and mixed drinks. No one was disappointed by their choice for dinner. What I was rather disappointed in was the lack of wait staff and only one person covering all the tables in our section. * BP Spaghetti and Meatballs was a blend of shrimp and crab that formed the "meatballs" over a bed of linguini with Old Bay Alfredo sauce and toast tips of herb and garlic. That was delicious and cooked perfectly. They do know how to do their seafood well. Would recommend- * BP Crab Dip * Beef Short Rib Poutine * Grilled Atlantic Salmon Salad * Steak Salad * Shrimp Salad Sandwich The restaurant is very large up on the second floor. There are areas for larger group gatherings. An outdoor patio for the warmer weather days. The decor was nice and warm, well lit and clean.

Yelp
I would go 3.5 stars, but not worthy of 4 stars IMO. B&P deserves a try. The vibe is fun, and the food is pretty good. What's wrong? VERY loud, challenging to hold a conversation at times. Some of the food was great (calamari, salmon, "spaghetti and meatballs" which is seafood not traditional pasta and red sauce). But all the fries were cold, the ribeye steak (I know it's a seafood place mostly) was considerably less than 1" thick, and the fish and chips just okay. At their current price point, I would expect a little better. Server was good but not outsanding. I've eaten here three times over the last year and my experience has been about the same each time. Hopefully, B&P kicks it up a notch.

Yelp
So sad that the food was good (most of it) but the service was so horrible; I would never come here again. We came in at 1:30 yesterday and it wasn't busy. There were about 7 people visibly working. After 15 minutes someone took our drink and kids meals order. After 45 minutes, we asked someone about our food and it came out but was cold so it had been sitting in the back for a while. Our waitress never cleared a plate (until I finally asked), never refilled waters or drinks, didn't bring salt when we asked. Plus they were out of the first 3 things we asked for. 2 stars for the delicious tuna nachos. The crab dip, steak salad (steak way over cooked) and pizza were all super disappointing. I haven't left a bad review in years but this service was so horrible; I don't want other people to waste money
google avatar

Yelp
Very disappointed came back again on Sunday night. Not many customers, server not attentive and made multiple mistakes. The steak plates we ordered were cold and rough, totally overcooked.

Yelp
This place is literally my favorite I can't describe how I love this place is. They actually listen to your request unlike others

Yelp
We had some friends in town and wanted to do some outdoor dining on a pleasant and sunny day. We called the morning of and were able to make a reservation for ten people for the outside terrace. When we arrived they sat us immediately and the table was already set with utensils. It's very rare to see that these days and we appreciated the promptness as we were with 4 kids under 5 years old. The restaurant has an elevator or stairs to get to the terrace. It overlooks Clarksville Pike, which isn't the best thing to look at but it beats being inside. For appetizers we did the poutine fries and boy were they good. The portion size is probably for 2-3 people so we ended up ordering 2 more orders for everyone. For the main entree I went with their chicken and waffles. It comes with two types of dipping sauces, both which were super unique. The chicken was super crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The waffle wasn't the best I've ever had but I love something to soak up flavor so I can't complain. When it came time for the check our server was prompt and got us out quickly. I'll definitely add this to my rotation of restaurants for the summer. I imagine it gets quite busy when the weather warms up reliably.

Yelp
Comfortably, well appointed atmosphere with simply well done food, extremely well executed cocktails and good variety of beer selections! A place to let go the stresses of the day or week.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
Bushel and Peck was our audible when we discovered our first choice restaurant was closed. Suffice it to say, we caught the defense off guard and scored big time. There was a charity fundraising event going on but the staff was on top of their game. The food was great, especially the asparagus fries app. The drink selection was very good. There is a relaxing outside deck. Oh and there were puppies. It all made for a great experience.
google avatar

Rick G.

Yelp
I judge a joint by their crab dip. If it's on the menu, it'll likely be ordered. Does it have a decent amount of crab? Is it served with enough bread-to-dip ratio? Is it cheesy and well seasoned? The BP Crab Dip passes with flying colors! For the entree, the BP Burger seemed like a good choice just by having Bourbon Bacon Jam. On a burger? Yup. Delish. The Horseradish Pickles may have been good but I'm averse to pickles that are too thick. And their fries are even more delightful when dipped in Bacon & White Cheddar Dip or Habanero Garlic Aioli sauces but not the BP Fry sauce - unless you like mayo and ketchup mixed. Service was excellent and the layout is great for any size group.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
We came here as part of an event with multiple tables, so we tried to give them some grace that they were potentially overwhelmed. However, we did not have a great experience. When we got there, there was no hostess at the stand. We waited a few minutes and then wandered off to find our event. There seemed to be only one waiter servicing the tables, and it was a struggle. He would disappear for long stretches. It took us over 30 minutes to even get him to swing by our table so we could order. The restaurant wasn't busy, so I am not sure if they were understaffed or what exactly was going on. Drinks were forgotten or made incorrectly. A lot of the food sounded good on the menu but was broadly mediocre. Most of all, it was overpriced and we spent about $120 after tip for a forgettable meal. The interior was nice though. When we left, my husband said he'd give it one more try, but honestly, I have no desire to be back.

Starr D.

Yelp
This is a great place to come for a casual dinner and still can expect quality food. The seafood dishes here are so fresh. Grilled cheese with tomato soup was one of the best. And they have a great selections on beers and other drinks. Service can be a little laggy at times especially if you sit by one of the tables way on the side.
google avatar

Selina L.

Yelp
I came here for a business dinner. Our team of about a dozen had reserved a private room for our party. I like that it was apart from the main dining area, felt nice and intimate. They have an extensive drink menu here, wine, beer, cocktails, there's something for anyone. I ordered the Campfire Old Fashioned, which was a little bit funny smelling to me (I am guessing it is the butter essence), but tasted good. For food, I went with the pre-fixe 3 course meal option with Caesar salad, crab cake, and strawberry cream trifle. The crab cake here has gigantic chunks of crab meat instead of little pieces which I had been used to eating. It was very lightly seasoned and paired with some corn and root vegetable (sweet potato?). I really really enjoyed my dessert, which came topped with crunchy pistachio brittles. The pistachio brittles were my favorite part of the meal. Service was good. I really liked that we had our private room. The wait staff came around regularly to check on us and take orders. They were very attentive.

Yelp
Bushel and a Peck was a great find! Visiting on a weekday during happy hour, it surprisingly, was not busy. I tried their margarita as well as the crab cake dish. Both were really good. The crab cake was exactly how it should be - minimal to no filler. My daughter had their shrimp salad sandwich. That thing was packed with shrimp! I tried it too, of course, and it's a must-order. We will visit again.

Yelp
Diamond in the rough!! Yelp
Had another awesome crabcake and it was huge and delicious! However the fries were greasy, limp and under fried. Sad to ruin such a beautiful plate The waitress brought better ones so I could enjoy the whole meal. Highly recommend the crabcakes here!

Yelp
I have been frequenting this restaurant for the past several years and have really enjoyed the restaurant, from the food and service. It has a great location and restaurant atmosphere. Last night I went back for the first time in about a year for a family members birthday (it was my recommendation). From my previous experience I would have thought this would have been a great choice. It really seems like everything has changed for the worse. The restaurant was completely empty, and it looked like the restaurant side was closed and they were seating everyone in the bar area. This was not ideal, and even though it wasn't the exact atmosphere we were hoping for, it was far from the worst part. The service was the worst part, the waiter had no business in the service industry. He forgot half the drinks and took forever to bring items out. We received no appetizers plates. And when our entrées came out two of them were missing and by the time they came out, the rest of us had finished eating. After we paid, they forgot to bring the credit card back and we had to track them down to get it after 10 mins. I have spent time as a waiter during college and understand that mistakes happen. Mistakes are a part of the restaurant/service industry, and that's Okay! The waiter didn't seem to care, he showed no sense of urgency to correct mistakes. The restaurant wasn't busy and it just seemed like people were standing around. We spoke to the manager and they took off one entrée. This was appreciated, but I really wanted to feel like they cared, they ruined this birthday dinner and it didn't seem to matter to them. I never once felt valued as a customer or as a guest in their restaurant. I am extremely disappointed in this experience. And after looking at other recent reviews, it seems like poor service has become common. You hate to see once great restaurants fail their customers. I hope ownership can address key areas of their business that desperately need change.

Yelp
I was in the area at the he Clarksville Commons and noticed Bushel and a Peck so I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately they were not open while I was there in the morning and I had to meet up with friends elsewhere. Lucky for me after we finished our activities they wanted to grab a bit to eat so I mentioned Bushel and a Peck and they were willing to give it a try. It's located above Clarksville Commons and there is openly of parking in a large lot located behind the building. I made reservations for 7 pm and we were able to be seated right away. The waitress Sabrina was full of energy and explained the menu items to us. The food was great portion size and flavor. Sabrina was awesome, she really went out of her way to make sure our first experience was great. She was very friendly but not overbearing. I never felt rushed when she frequently checked on us. Food was so good that I devoured it before getting any pictures. I will have to come back soon for a better review l. I hope Sabrina is there because she made it a 5 star experience.

Yelp
Yelp helped me discover this place and I'm happy it did! The ambiance is beautiful, it's a large restaurant with the option to sit outside when the weather permits. The staff were friendly and very attentive, they also were helpful by giving honest suggestions off the menu. We ordered the crab dip ,which was delicious, calamari, burger, and beet salad with salmon. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
We visited Bushel and a Peck again even after our last visit, and I am glad we did! The service was perfect and the food was delicious! We got the Grilled Cheese, Burger and Calamari. Everything came out hot and the flavors were perfect. We even got the Creme Brule for dessert, and it was amazing! Can't wait to be back again!

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be a more upscale restaurant and now it's just a nice pub. It's a shame. We ordered a $17 whiskey neat and it came in a dirty glass. (Leftover lemon or lime pulp, lip marks at the top ) We asked for a new pour and saw them pour it into a new glass (that was at least clean). Appetizers were all fried, except for crab dip (heavy) or onion soup. I ordered a shrimp and crab burger. I didn't realize it was a fried-chicken batter on it. While I would have been down for that had I known, it didn't help that it was extremely salty. The steak salad was okay. The grilled mozzarella cheese sandwich was rather good: good bread, delicious marina, actually. Asparagus was...cooked. No seasoning or flavor, just kinda warmed up and served. The service was minimal and awkward. At the end of our meal, when we had a few dirty plates on the table (from apps, meals and sides), the waitress asked if she wanted to "clean us up." ...yes...? We weren't offered refills on the diet soda or Arnold Palmer. What was nice: the patio. There was live music on a Sunday afternoon with a great breeze going through from the open windows and fans blowing. There was a ping pong table out on the roof, Jenga game inside along with a tic tac toe board. In the end I don't think we'll be back...at least not for "good" food. For pub fare: that's a maybe.

Yelp
Been here a few times and it's a pretty good, consistent experience. Atmosphere is great and the restaurant is spacious and inviting. Service always on point and friendly. Food is a little pricey but they've had a pre-fixe menu each time I've gone which is a relatively decent deal. Jumbo lump crab cake was excellent. We will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Great restaurant in Clarksville! Nice outdoor seating on the patio, in addition to plenty of seating inside. Crispy calamari: 5/5. Lightly golden and not greasy / oily. Good flavor - not salty. Portion is enough for a light appetizer for two people. We ate it all in a few minutes. BP spaghetti with shrimp & lump crab meatballs: 5/5. My entree came with three large Bushel & Peck style meatballs, which are made of shrimp and lump crab meat. Very tasty and the spaghetti was cooked just right. The sauce is listed as an Alfredo sauce, and I liked the mix of old bay with the sauce. Served with garlic bread. Generous portion - had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Ribeye dip: my husband gives it a 4.5/5. Meat was tender and flavorful.

Yelp
Really wish there was an option for 4.5 stars because they were MUCH closer to a 5 than 4. However the service was a little less than it should have been. Food, atmosphere, and prices were all great. They will definitely have the opportunity to earn that 5th star.

Yelp
We've been here before and had a decent experience but tonight was not good. We arrived around 8:45 and was seated immediately. The server took awhile to come to our table to take drink orders. Then our server didn't come back to take our food order. Finally another server walked by and asked if we wanted to order. He took the order and disappeared. While we waited I needed a beer and had to go to the bar to order one. The food took over 30 minutes for a steak salad. When it arrived the steak was not hot. It seemed to have sat awhile in the back. The whole experience was disappointing as we felt invisible and that staff were trying to close up and get out. We had to go to the bar to get our check. Staff were paying attention to regulars before others were. Definitely a disappointment.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening on the patio of Bushel and a Peck last night. The restaurant had just experienced a week with no power, loss of thousands of dollars of fresh food (theirs is a scratch kitchen), and a week of closure. Despite the limited menu, we chose dishes that were delicious, generous, and just right. But what really impressed us was the service. When we called to make a last-minute reservation to sit outside so we could enjoy the outdoor live music, the hostess bent over backwards to figure out a time she could accommodate us. And we had the perfect server! Earl was charming, helpful, timely, and exuded such a positive attitude! And boy did he hustle! We will definitely return soon!

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant twice now and about to plan a third in the next couple of weeks lol. My 1st time was a Sunday evening date with my guy who I kept telling we must go to try their seafood spaghetti that I saw on Instagram a couple months prior. When we arrived, we sat at a high top table by the bar so I didn't get to explore the restaurant til my second visit which I'll go into later. Jay was our server and he alone deserves 5 stars. Jay was also the only bartender working that evening so when he came to greet us, he gave his honest & positive review on all the food & the faves. I knew what I what wanted & my guy opted for the shrimp & grits with a side of the Tasso ham collard greens. The BP spaghetti & meatballs which is made of shrimp & crab only, is the best item on the menu. The sauce is a yummy Alfredo, no red sauce in this spaghetti & comes with 2 pieces of garlic bread. My guy enjoyed his S&G but after tasting a sample of mine, he wanted the same. I tasted the collard greens and they were delish as well. Now during our second visit which was 2 weeks later for his birthday, I wasn't able to get Jay again because he had a later shift so a very patient, nice young lady name Ellie who went above & beyond to tend to our youngest guest who has a ton of allergies. I called prior and spoke to management/owner who said they can accommodate him. Well needless to say, they created a special, homemade bbq sauce for his chicken that he loved so much, he ordered more. It was 8 of us in total who had the following: 2 short rib, 3 BP spaghetti, 1 S&G, 1 risotto meal & the gluten-free bbq chicken. Everyone enjoyed their dining experience & the restaurant is HUGE! When leaving they have another dining side, an outdoor balcony & private rooms. Just have to give another special kudos to Jay who came as we were almost done and greeted the table & he makes great cocktails! Everyone is friendly, gracious & accommodating. BP will be our go-to spot when dining in HC!

Yelp
The Crab cake Sandwich was great. The Fried Calamari was exceptional. Best of all was the server who wanted on us. Sarah was a wonderful young lady who made our dinning more enjoyable than the food. Sorry, but I didn't get the managers name but she was great also. They had a limited menu because of a electric service problem. They both did a wonderful job keeping our expectations. Not being rushed was also worth mentioning. Bravo to the whole experience.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place when I saw it recently! I suggested meeting here for a happy hour with a fellow yelper! We got a seat on the patio because it was such a beautiful day autumn day. Apparently they only offer happy hour at the bar inside! I think that's silly considering the inside isn't that big and why would you want a bunch of people crowded at the bar? Maybe allow patrons to take advantage of happy hour throughout the entire restaurant? I'm just saying. Since it was a nice day, we decided to stay outside! I wasn't starving so I got some fries and honestly they were just ok. Nothing great and for $7, not worth it! I've had better fries at five guys! I tried the old fashioned cocktail - didn't bother getting a second. I've had much better. I won't be in a hurry to return!

Yelp
The food has been great every-time I've gone and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this local restaurant.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night- food was good however they were clearly way understaffed and service was very slow. I don't think it will survive with this type of service.

Yelp
Saturday night, prime time, and you're having a private event in the bar? With a 30 minute wait? I'll go somewhere else!

Yelp
Food and service were very good. In these pandemic times when service is struggling, Bushel & Peck is doing something right to have such good servers. They were attentive and the food came out in a timely fashion. Sat on the beautiful patio and the weather that evening was superb. My friend got the mushroom risotto with scallops added. I had little taste. I wish I had gotten it. It was so well made. Creamy and a nice taste of the herbs infused throughout. She said the scallops were cooked perfectly. Now to the chicken n waffles. I was genuinely surprised by how good the greens were. Not overcooked and lots of flavor. The chicken breast was cooked nicely, tender and juicy. And that stuffing waffle? What a complete satisfying surprise. The only part of the dish I can't applaud is the mashed potatoes. They seemed like they came out of the box. Bushel and Peck I hope you continue in this good service and well made food. I'll be back

Yelp
My fiancé and I went here for the first time last night. It was a great experience. First, the atmosphere has a nice feel. It is both casual, relaxed but still has a bit of a warm/cozy feel. There are two main decks which are probably great when the weather is nice out. They also have little sections that could be open and others more private. I like that. Next, the staff were really nice. When my fiancé made the reservation, he mentioned it was for a birthday. The staff actually made a handmade card to give me once they sat us down. It was so thoughtful. Most places may sing you happy birthday but the card was a nice surprise. The service was also quick and the woman who served us, Sabrina was super sweet and personable. She also checked on us frequently. She was great. The FOOD was really good! We started off with some alcoholic drinks. They were very good. Then we ordered the Scallops. They were SOOOOO good! The bacon and the the melted butter with the scallops were a great flavor together! I would have been content just eating those to be honest lol The only downside was that they were only appetizers and came with 4 scallops on this really nice seashell. I wish they came with like 8 or 10. But that wasn't all. We then ordered our main entrees. My fiancé ordered the crab and shrimp burger which he enjoyed and I ordered the slow roasted rib eye dip sandwich, which was really good as well. I would definitely order it again! Then we finally had the Cinnamon Bun Bread Pudding. It was a great flavor as well. I would definitely come back again!
