Dough Zone’s Ramen Restaurant Has Closed in Issaquah | Eater Seattle

"After less than two years in operation, Ramen Bushi-Do—opened in July 2016 by Jason Zhai and his wife Nancy, the same team behind Dough Zone Dumpling House—has ended its run and now appears as permanently closed on Google and Yelp. I confirmed with Jason for Eater that the replacement, Orenji Sushi and Noodles, is not his project; he had not clarified why Ramen Bushi-Do closed, and the restaurant's last Yelp review was posted in December 2017." - Megan Hill

Google
It was our 1st time going there. The service was very good. I would definitely go there again. We choose the all you can eat menu. It was $30 per person. That way we got to try a variety of foods. It comes out in small portions but before you know it, you are full. The seating was very comfortable, and so was the decor. It also handicap friendly with plenty of parking.

Google
This place is very good. I guess the reason I put it at 4 instead of 5 is I compare it to Shusi Masa. Not as many sushi options here. The Korean BBQ is something different and it was good. I would go back, but I am wouldn't pick it over Sushi Masa. Now I will say the light up menus were AMAZING. I could see them. We will be back I am sure.

The crab bombs are so good! I can eat my weight in those things! Da-bomb rolls are SUper delicious! The service is always friendly! We spend every special occasion here! Worth every penny!

Google
Always friendly staff, delicious food. 3rd time coming here and looking forward to our next visit!! Favorite rolls are Bushido roll and Philly roll, crab bomb, seaweed and squid salad. Miso soup- and the garlic pork belly Korean BBQ! Try the red bean ice cream!

First of all, I want to say our waitress was absolutely wonderful—she did a fantastic job and gave us great service. Unfortunately, the food was by far the worst sushi experience we’ve ever had. The fish was slimy and overly fishy, the kimchi tasted like it was going bad, and the shrimp tempura was so heavily battered and over-fried that you couldn’t even find the shrimp. The rice was soggy and paste-like, and the Korean BBQ was extremely greasy. On top of that, the soy sauce container was sticky, and even the floor was uncomfortably sticky, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness. Honestly, I think the health department needs to pay this place a visit. The manager did try to make things right, and I appreciate that effort. However, it was simply one issue after another, and we will not be returning. I’ve included a photo of one of the rolls we were served. No one touched this plate—it looked like this the moment the server set it down. I’ve never seen sushi presented like this before: barely filled, unevenly rolled, and with a strong, fishy smell. I truly hope I don’t end up sick tomorrow

I made a reservation that had 8 guests. Most of us ordered AYCE & the restaurant did not seem crazy busy at all. My guests did not arrive all at once BUT by the time the rest got there the ones that got there before us had started ordering including drinks & it took forever to get them. Our waitress would forget to get almost everything we would ask for so we’d be out of a drink for about 20 minutes. As a server myself I saw most of us needing refills & asked her to get this, that, & the third & it still would be forgotten about. Some of the food items took entirely too long to get. I was so excited to try this place for the first time for my 21st birthday & was very disappointed because of the very slow service. My reservation was for 6:30 & we did not leave until nearly 9 o’clock. The server would also lean on the backs of our chairs as she was taking our orders. However, the food was pretty good when it made it to the table. I just wouldn’t go back because of the service.

Google
I and my wife First time came here and tried “all you can eat” to make sure it would be our next favorite Asian restaurant but didn’t get a good taste of what we wanted. Server was good and service was great but the quality of sushi and hibachi were not as good as other places I knew in Lafayette. Rice for sushi’s was overcooked and none of them met my expectations. Korean grill is not an actual Korean grill that it should be , you are not about to grill your selected meat on their grill. it comes on a cast iron dish which was cooked before like a fajita but fire under it. Sauce and deeps on side was good. Deserve only one star not more.

Google
An absolutely amazing experience the food was unbelievable they have a bring you the food style setup where fresh delicious food just keeps coming. The Korean barbecue, the bang bang shrimp, the many different sushis and even the strawberry and green tea ice cream. Wow!! A must try.

Yelp
Against all negative reviews, i wish i could give more than 5 stars. My fiancé and I love this place and it's our go to date spot! I find myself craving the food literally every week, it's just sooo good!!! The lobster roll is to DIE for. We've been here so many times and the service is amazing. The owner is great and attentive. We've only had service that lacked once but everybody has their off days and I'm very understanding of that, it's not a reflection of the business as a whole. Overall, i love this place and the inside is beautiful.

Yelp
Japanese-style dining options in a beautiful space, Bushido promises delicious cuisine and a super friendly staff. We enjoyed the all-you-can-eat dinner option because it allowed us to sample everything from specialty sushi to fried Oreos. Our top picks were the lobster roll, the Oreo tempura, the bbq short ribs, the smoked salmon sashimi and the sweet potato roll, just to name a few. I'm not really a sushi person and even I was impressed with the restaurant's selection. The sweet potato roll--in particular--was my favorite thing as it was crunchy, warm and a perfect balance of both salty and sweet. We also really loved the spicy yellowtail tuna and the lobster roll. One thing to note is that even though this place claims to offer Korean BBQ, the BBQ style is more Japanese as the meat is already cooked and seasoned. That being said, the meat was tasty that you'll hardly notice or care! Also a special shoutout goes to our waitress, Dominique as she was both attentive and kind! 8/10 recommend this place if you're ever in the Lafayette area

Yelp
Really cannot say enough good things about this place! We have been here two times now and I highly recommend! There is a set price for the all you can eat, and if you want the all you can drink that is an additional set price charge. The food is outstanding and comes out very quickly! You can get everything from beef to sushi. The selection is really great for a large group and also a great date night. We have only sat in the bar area, and the service has been outstanding both times. Our waitress was Sydney and she goes above and beyond. She also had quite a few great recommendations. Great place to stop in and have dinner !

Yelp
We heard that Bushido had opened from a friend, and couldn't wait to try. We arrived and had a wait time which was worth it, but you do have the option to sit at the bar, which has its own area with tables. Once we were seated, it was off to the experience. First the menus are lighted so you can really see( this is a first for me). We got the all you can eat which the non alcoholic drinks are included, extra for alcohol. The surprise was everything was included in the all you can eat appetizers also, the second nice surprise was the portion size, small portions gave the ability to try a majority of the food, the beef and pork belly was great, but the squid was something special. The service was outstanding, and the ordering was explained well. Big and inviting dining room casual ambiance, and can easily do parties. And the food is great. Definitely a must try

Yelp
Can't say anything bad about the service or the food. Went for lunch and i'm amazed that you get the same option for lunch $18.99 as dinner $29.99. The decor is pretty cool umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. I'm usually not a fan of ramen but the spicy shrimp ramen is amazing the best i have ever eaten. The broth is amazing spicy and sweet just amazing. The sashimi was fresh and perfect thickness. The rolls are fresh and perfect size to taste many options. The appetizer all were great they give small portions so give all a try. The Korean BBQ is also were good they bring everything to the table meat are already cooked so you are just warming it up. I'm really impressed even more so that they just opened. Really have to try. A' Riana was our server and she was amazing

Yelp
I wanted to like this place...I really did, but it just did not hit the mark. One of our family members was in town so we wanted to show her a good time and try out a great new place we heard about. Immediately walking in, I was in awe of the décor. Its a very stunning place. We had a table of nine and had no problem being seated promptly. The waitress greeted us and we started placing some orders. This is where things started to go downhill. The waitress started going MIA. We needed refills as well as more food to order as some of my family members opted for all you can eat buffet. I got up TWICE to look for her. I should not have to wait 20 or 30 plus minutes to be checked on! The food was not even worth the wait in my opinion. Some of the items came out lukewarm. My patience was wearing incredibly thin to the point that I lost my appetite. Even getting the check took forever!!! I was willing to give this place another chance after the owner of the restaurant reached out to address my concerns. I returned back here last weekend only to be disappointed again. The owner was not interested in rectifying the situation in a reasonable manner so I had to walk out.

Yelp
Well I didn't want to have to write this because I like the idea of this place when it opened and it has great the first couple times I went there. But it seems to have fallen off enough that I may not return. They stopped carrying the short ribs on their KBBQ menu, ordered multiple carafes of cold sake and got room temperature sake every single time, and couldn't happen to find my server except for a couple times throughout my entire meal. Highly disappointed, can no longer recommend this place.

Yelp
We went eat monday night and our waitress was amazing, we were her first table she said but the way she was so professional and relaxed; and took such great care of us, you would've never have known she was new, plus the lady training her was just as sweet and very professional as well! The food was great as well, everything came out fast and was very flavorful, and the dining room had lots of seating and the vibe was chill, plus i loved the decorations in the lobby!

Yelp
We got the all you can eat dinner menu. Here is what we got: Tuna tartare, tuna tataki, yellowtail jalepeno, spicy crab salad, crab bomb, salmon sashimi, 1987, lsu roll, lobster roll, poki bowl, bang bang shrimp. Everything tasted so fresh. They are very small portions so for the tuna we got like 4 for each person. The 1987 was the best roll we tried. With the dinner menu you can try everything! Only con is slow service but I think they are short staffed and also had a large party when we went so be prepared to maybe wait a bit! Will be back!

Natalie N.

Yelp
The food was great, but the wait to get more food was a bust. We were a party of 10. The drink order was placed but came after the food. Most of them never got their drinks refilled. A member of our party didn't get to place their order until someone complained. Luckily for the servers for getting our food orders in because the waitress rarely came. If you go don't order from the buffet. A la Carte will serve you better here.

Yelp
My wife and I normally love going here for a dinner date. Unfortunately, every aspect of our overall experience last night was the worst dining experience we've had in Lafayette. My wife, 5 year old daughter, and I came in at a busy time and waited nearly an hour for a table, as expected for a Saturday night and no reservation. We were seated in the patio area without even asking if we were okay sitting in this section. Sitting in this area we felt completed separated from the restaurant and forgotten about. Our waitress did greet us rather quickly and brought our drinks back within 5ish minutes or so. Being that we have frequented this location a few times, we already knew how we wanted to start our buffet orders. As I was waiting to request some of our items to order, the waitress immediately says "I'll be right back" not even 5 seconds after arriving to our table to drop off the drinks. Our waitress then stepped to the side of us where she had a 7 top table she was also servicing. She assists them a walks away without even glancing at our table and not noticing us trying to get her attention. FIFTEEN minutes later, she finally comes back to our table to take our order. We placed everything that we knew we wanted at this point, including our daughters hibachi meal. Now, from the point we were sat to the point we placed our order (which she never used the tablet but at the end of a time there) it was roughly 15-17 minutes. We didn't a single item for the next 30 minutes. When the 3 items finally came out, we recieved 1 nearly room temp soup, 1 order of spring rolls thay sat so long after cooking the the bottom was falling apart from sogginess, and room temp bang bang shrimp. Another nearly 15 minutes pass by and nothing has come out still. Also at this point, our waitress has never stopped by our table on her own accords, we had to wave her down twice for refills, each time she seemed to make a face of us bothering her. At this point, I was beyond upset, but trying to be civil about the ridiculous service/experience up to this point. I walked to the front, asked the hostess for manager, waited nearly 5 minutes for nobody to come out and just went back to my table. 5-10 minutes later we finally start getting the rest of our food, we finished, ordered a little dessert, paid and left. Based off all other experiences we've had here, we may be back one day, but this put a terrible taste in our mouth. It will be a long time before we give this restaurant another shot with how much it costs to eat there.

Yelp
Bushido popped up almost overnight, advertising itself as Lafayette's first Korean BBQ restaurant- and immediately fell short of everyone's expectations. In reality, It's an all you can eat sushi place with 4 bbq items that you can order- none of which I'd recommend. It's low quality meat drowning in pre marinade and overcooked on a tiny grill before they bring it to your table. The sushi was sub par and not better than the dozen other sushi places that already existed here. Our waitress was sweet, but kept mixing up what we ordered with another table, even though it wasn't busy. The decor is tacky and mostly AI generated art, it doesn't seem like anyone gave the interior design much thought. Won't be back!
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
Was alright. I'd probably only go back for the sushi part, the KBBQ wasn't as popping as I was optimistically hoping for. I had the squid, chicken, shrimp, and one of the beef dishes for the KBBQ portion. The setup: you get a small one-person grill that'd probably be similar to a camping setup. The meat you order is cooked, so it isn't really being cooked in front of you more like you're heating it up. I left a fair amount of the food on the hot iron for a while because I was eating by myself and none of the food burned except the squid got dried out, if that's any indicator for how hot it got. My server was nice, I sat by myself, refilled my drink 3 times. Friday night wait time was about 20 minutes around 7pm. Ordered 3 different rolls and they'd come out pretty quickly.

Yelp
Food is great. Love the atmosphere and we never really have had issues until tonight. Went on a little date night and thank god we ordered something when we ordered drinks because it took almost 40 minutes to get our server to come back. Asked for some modifications to certain foods and they came with what I asked to not have. Made me partially lose my appetite. Poor girl had so many tables and couldn't keep up but all the other servers were more present on the floor than her

Yelp
Heard about a new Japanese/Korean AYCE and AYCD (all you can eat/drink) restaurant opening up. So tried it out w some friends. The appetizers were decent. Bang bang shrimp would have been better if the shrimp was actually tossed and covered completely in the sauce. Crab bomb was one of my favorite appetizers crab meat with cream cheese deep fried. Shrimp fried rice had the flavor however the shrimp is a bit small compared to competitor. One of the favorites entrees was the Korean bbq garlic pork belly! So good I ordered it 2x! The other were fairly good as well comes with fresh lettuce, kimchi, seasoning and sauce. I recommend letting it sit for a bit to get it heat up since it comes cooked already. Tried a few different sushi rolls they were good nothing that made me remember to get another roll again. They all almost had the same flavor with the same sauce on the top. So it was difficult to differentiate btw them. Atmosphere is nice dark and modern setting. The waitress provided excellent service! Another highlight is the all you can drink for $10! (U have to get the ayce) then they offer a premium for $15 extra drinks But overall was a good time w friends and the food was pretty good. I would go more for lunch unless I have some friends willing to go for a dinner.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Great customer services. All you can drink for $10??? You can't find anywhere in Louisiana

Yelp
We had a large party of 19 that arrived with no reservation. We were seated with in 20 minutes. Ciera our server was great and all the food was out to us very quickly. Definitely on our list of favorites, and we will be back soon !!!! Theresa T

Yelp
After living in Japan and Korea for a few years, I always get excited to eat at new Japanese/Korean spot. This is without a doubt the furthest thing from even considering that. The sushi was very mid tier and poorly put together The gyoza was placed on a bed of brown and wilted shredded lettuce The Korean bbq is already cooked meat served on a cast iron platter with a food service heater underneath it. It is seasoned with an unknown seasoning that taste more like tacos than it does Korean BBQ. (Never trust a Korean bbq place that doesn't serve beef bulgogi) The hibachi was extremely salty and tasted of nothing but soy sauce. In my opinion, if you want a place to drink for cheap with subpar food that has good atmosphere then this is your place. If you are expecting anything else, don't waste your time.

Yelp
OMG...! I found this Restaurant to be fantastic..! I don't know enough about Korean (or Asian food)... but I am a picky eater and everything was delicious..!!!! The Owner "Chin" came a spent time with our group of about 20 people...I will be back and would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone..!!! Thank you "Chin" (Owner) and "Sierra" waitress...! Cindy

Gregory M.

Yelp
Best sushi deal in Acadiana. I like their ayce menu and most dishes are good. The only thing I didn't like was the Korean beef barbecue. The grill was cold with sterno under it when they brought it out and the beef was more like jerky. Every thing else was great.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
AYCE and AYCD can't beat that. The food was decent for the cost. The server was excellent and didn't leave me hungry. If you do, it is completely your fault.

Troy G.

Yelp
We drove an hour to get here based on a review from a family member. The food is amazing, so much variety for all you can eat! Even an all you can drink alcohol. The food is quick out of the kitchen and the servers are all very polite. The atmosphere/decor is a bit quirky but the HUGE screen TV is a plus to watch the game. We will be back no regrets whatsoever.

Dan R.

Yelp
All you can eat restaurants do pretty well in Lafayette, but this one is so bad it is likely to be an exception. Where do I start? The servers try hard but appear to be untrained. There seems to be no system in place and lots of folks were not getting what they ordered. Servers were confused and frustrated, and one of them who was trying hard to do a good job was driven to tears. The beef was dry, the sauces sickeningly sweet, and I'd bet you lunch (somewhere else) that at least one of the "crab" dishes contained no real crab. When I got my check it included a $1.30 "service fee" not mentioned on the menu. Turns out it was because I used a credit card. Only because i was upset with everything else, I politely complained to the owner, who curtly said there was a sign somewhere on a wall. In other words, my bad for not reading the walls on my way in. The place is bad and I'd be very surprised if it ever improves for staff or customers.

Yelp
Great food! Amazing service. We have been several times and it just keeps getting better
google avatar

Annette F.

Yelp
Food is okay. Service is horrible. It should not take two hours to be served lunch. Half the people bring food to the table did not even know what the dish was. They need to train their staff better.

Amber M.

Yelp
Usually a good place to eat really good food but Shelby served me and my friends tonight and it was horrible, this girl would take 30 minutes breaks between coming to our table, had an attitude about hand rolled sushi, was only nice to the male at our table, outright ignored one of my friends trying to order. All around terrible experience. This was my second time having her as a server at that and it was just as bad the last time!!! Next time I'm going to have to specifically ask for her to not serve me. Do better Shelby, whoever served me the first time I came was amazing and my baby loved her so I know it's not the restaurant as a whole. It's just Shelby

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Great service!! Thx to Lauren Hady and Harrison! We will be back! This place is a perfect spot for goood food and fun!!!

Brooke L.

Yelp
We tried the pan fried dumplings, Naruto roll, bushido roll, 1987 roll, steak and shrimp ramen, and Korean bbq...all were good

Sharon M.

Yelp
Korean BBQ bowl was tasty and full of vegetables, rice, beef and other things. We ate it all. Great ambiance. Chen, the owner, came out to see us. We have known him for many years, This is his latest restaurant and we can't wait to return!!!

Howard S.

Yelp
We went on Sunday, Father's Day. Got in quickly and seated. There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children. One was 2, eats free, and the other 6, charged for a kid's meal. No big deal, although the chicken nuggets and fries was overpriced. Dinner AYCE was $29.99 but our waitress informed we could get the "membership" card and get one of the meal's basically for free. My wife wasn't going to get the AYCE but with the card, she did. The sushi did not disappoint although there could have been a larger selection for that price. The Korean barbecue items were good as well. There was a delay in some things coming, our waitress was absent for a bit, and they forgot a couple of items during our meal that we reminded them about and got. At just about the end of our meal, another waitress, possibly a lead, informed us that we would not be able to use the card for the discount for this meal as they needed to "register" us in their computer and we could use it next visit. My wife was not happy as this was discussed with the waitress who was attending our table. This new waitress suggested she could speak with the owner, but that she was only relaying information. We suggested that she make sure her wait staff had the correct information before presenting it to customers at $30 a plate. Finally, the waitress returned with the approval from the owner to honor the membership discount. Now for the bill. The ticket came out showing the full price, but our waitress apologized for the confusion and showed where the one discount was applied. The tip, for 6 people was added in, remember, we had 2 children and 4 adults and I felt like the tip added in was completely unnecessary for only 4 adults. We won't be coming back anytime soon

Dominique D.

Yelp
Where do I start! When we were seated it took over 20 minutes for our server to notice we were even there. I had to steal one of the waiters from another table. My appetizer was luke warm and over priced. My wife ordered the Korean BBQ and the order was "lost in the kitchen". She didn't get her food until a hour later. My sushi was mediocre at best! Our server Alex, that I stole from someone else's table was wonderful though! He comped my wife's meal and 2 drinks due to her ordering a mimosa and they were out of champagne! It was overall a terrible experience. At the end of the night myself and my wife threw up! Apologies for the graphics, but I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Tracy R.

Yelp
I have been a few times now. I think it's delicious. I have never done the AYCE so I am not sure if the price is worth it. the Louisiana Roll is my favorite. the owner is friendly, the wait staff is attentive. the wall murals are amazing.

Deborah E.

Yelp
Depressing, weird atmosphere to begin with. Never again! If you go here do the all you can eat with the to go option which our very nice waiter did recommend. I ordered BBQue with the ribs, I don't eat much, appetizers are usually enough but I left hungry. The ribs were mostly bone & fat, there was a handful of rice & a tiny bit of sauce & literally 4 leaves of Romain lettuce & for $19. No drinks!

Samantha G.

Yelp
This was our first time trying Bushido. We came with a party of 7 and waited almost 2 hours just to be seated , that we were expecting Becasue it was a Saturday afternoon. We finally were sat we got our drinks and immediately ordered. 4 out of the 7 in our group got their food and finished before the other half of the table got theirs. I reminded the waitress I hadn't got my roll yet and she said ok I'll check . About 20 minutes later the other half of the table got their food. They also finished eating and I still hadn't got my ONE sushi roll. My husband had to go look for the waitress because she kept disappearing!! We could see the sushi bar I seen her go look maybe once the whole hour we were seated . When she came with the check there was no apology given just a simple I'm gonna ask the manager to not charge you for the roll. I finally spoke to the manager her excuse was that the kitchen was short staffed , ok I get that but the service was terrible and she could only offer a card that gives 20% off the next time you come. Considering this was our first time , Don't think there will be a next time. There's too many other all you can eat places in Lafayette to deal with such poor service and such lack of effort from a server! Servers name was Ainsley

David H.

Yelp
My wife and I went for lunch today to try this place out. For the lunch price of AYCE, I would definitely recommend this place. If you are a fan of other planes like Sushi Masa, definitely try this place. We had a good variety of food and it was all quite delicious. Our favorite items were Korean BBQ and Ramen of different varieties. Sushi and sashimi were also good and we liked some of the appetizers too. Service was a bit slow at times but nothing too terrible. I kind of assumed that was an issue with getting things organized with a new business so we will be back to see if things improve in that area. It was mildly busy while we were there for lunch so I would recommend giving it a try for lunch rather than have a potential dinner rush situation. We did really like the atmosphere of the place - it may not be for everybody but there was a bit of mood/low lighting and the backlit menus were pretty cool. I think there is a lot to like about this place and I like the variety of everything - it didn't feel confusing or overwhelming.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Great service, excellent food! All you can eat or order from menu! Good price and nice atmospher!

Joseph D.

Yelp
Everything about this place is awesome, the value on the AYCE lunch is insane. I didn't think a place like this could exist in Lafayette but I stand corrected. The service was insanely good, Harrison might be the best server I've ever had. Great vibes, great food, great time.

Kaylen P.

Yelp
our server was kylie and she was amazing. first time there and had the all you can eat. food was real good

Macy M.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend were very excited to try this place and we are very disappointed with it. Very overhyped with ok food. Some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Waitress didn't know the menu - asked about a type of sushi roll and she "can't think" of what's in it and "went ask" but we had to ask again when she came back all for her to go ask again, took forever to bring drinks (I asked for a Diet Coke, 10-20 minutes later I still didn't receive it but immediately brought my boyfriend his refill; had to ask twice for my drink), small overpriced portions, the Korean BBQ tastes like a sweet taco meat, the hibachi is doused in soy sauce and very salty (we couldn't take more than one bite), dishes were piled up on a tiny table, waited 10+ minutes to get the check and waited 10 more for it to be brought back with no pen while our server proceeded to go to another table without thanking us or anything and had to go get a pen (what server doesn't carry a pen on them?!?!). Overall, only good thing about this place is the all you can drink - great for when you want ok food and cheap drinks to get drunk. Huge let down. Take your business to Sushi Masa or somewhere else.

Yelp
My husband and I went for an early dinner around 3pm. The place was almost empty with 2 servers and 2 cooks. When I asked the hostess why is was taking up to an hour to get the food we ordered she explained the situation and said that they had ran out of some food. When we got the owner involved he kept saying "it's ok". The food was buffet quality. The sushi rolls had sizes that were extra tiny. The waitress took 30 minutes to acknowledge our table. I had time to examine our table and floor and I saw where the table was not properly cleaned and the floor had wet fluid on it. We were seated next to a bunch of intoxicated girls that danced around weirdly. I told the manager this place beat anything I've ever experienced, hands down. He took the cake in the very worst experience I've ever had. He brought me 3 plastic roses and asked me to smell them excitedly. I almost passed out from the stink.
