Where to Find Fresh-Fried Apple Cider Doughnuts in Oregon

"Boring-area family farm Bushue’s sells both pumpkin and apple cider doughnuts from its food stand, alongside apple cider slushies and and hot spiced cider. They’re available by the dozen or half-dozen, including a mixed dozen with six of each." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Great pumpkin patch for all ages. Paths for walking and strollers, large kid play areas, friendly goats. Tons of pumpkins in great shape. Really good donuts and other food and drinks are available to purchase, as well as tickets for a short tracker/train ride and a few other attractions. Busy but not crowded, smaller and less overwhelming than other large pumpkin patches in the area.

This was a great farm to visit for simple Pumpkin Patch fun. Not over the top or overly crowded. Simple but had the typical stuff (no corn maze.) Was wheelchair possible (not friendly but doable.) A great option if you don't want the stress of a busy big farm. Also the apple cider donuts are bomb! Danger! I highly recommend.

I love bringing my kids here to pick strawberries and the pumpkin patch! They love the hayride and theres lots of different activities and photo opportunities! They like seeing the animals and they always have fun treats!

Such a lovely visit, beautiful location with spectacular views of Mt. Hood. Apple cider donuts are delicious, and their apple cider slushy was perfect for the sunny day we were there. Kids play area was a whole lot of fun, as told by the happy squeals from my 3 year old. He didn't want to leave. ☺️ The piggy train ride was the most memorable thing for my little one. He'll be talking about that one for a long time! So much fun! All in all, great photo ops, nice selection of pumpkins and plants, fantastic attractions, yummy hot food to eat, Covid readiness and safety without being overbearing, and a diaper changing station, to boot! It had everything we needed and made for a memorable and happy day! 10/10 would recommend, especially to those with small children.

Very sweet family oriented pumpkin patch! My daughter and I loved watching the kids go by on the piggie train and waving. The pumpkins were beautiful and we loved the sweet little goats! We also enjoyed the delicious apple cider & pumpkin donuts. Hand sanitizer, limited entry and masks required. Felt very safe and organized. Easy to find and to park.

It's great for adults as well as families. Picking the U-cut flowers is on my list for a future girls trip as well as getting a variety of decorative pumpkins. My Dad and I liked the "corn trail" which is a very good corn maze. The apple cider was delicious. The hot dog, apple cider and pumpkin donuts were all hot and perfect. They have a lovely seating area (about 12 high-end picnic tables) with a view of Mt. hood. They took cards and cash for everything. The route on Orient Dr. from Gresham is very beautiful for a sunny afternoon. It's our new go-to pumpkin patch, and we've been to the other well-known ones around Portland.

Another great experience at Bushue’s. The new play area is perfect! I love that it’s gated and traps my crazy toddler in. My son loved the Pig Train. Pumpkin donuts and slushees are scrumptious. I would come back just for the slushees. The only improvement I would suggest is to have the price per pound on the main pumpkin patch labeled. I went the first day and maybe I just missed the sign.

Very fun little pumpkin patch, plenty to do for a couple of hours, I do wish the kid play area didn't cost money but I understand trying to run a business. The donuts are a MUST!

Yelp
I really enjoy this farm out in Boring. My friends wanted to go to a pumpkin patch and this was the one I recommended. There is no entrance or parking fee. You only need to pay for activities if you want to do them, pumpkins and/or snacks. They have a lot of things for kiddos to do; hay ride, pig train ride and a play area. They also have a corn trail and animals to pet. Their food truck serves hot dogs, apple slices with caramel, apple slushies and apple donuts. The donuts, of course, are my favorite. They are so soft and are served warm. It is a fun place to visit during the fall!

Yelp
Hood Strawberries and Mary's Peak. The fields are right next to where you park and loaded with ripe easy pickings. The folks are very friendly as well. You need to bring your own containers and check in to have them weighed so you aren't charged for the weight of your container. Most important, their strawberries taste fantastic!!

Yelp
If you're looking for a solid pumpkin patch with great prices and all the frills, this is the place for you! They have food, hayrides, a corn maze, petting zoo and more. The apple cider and apple cider were incredible on a cold rainy day. The pumpkins were also such a great deal! .52 cents/lb is a great deal at an actual pumpkin patch. Parking was easy and staff is also extremely friendly as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were really enjoying with our one year old baby! Animals, a lot of activities for kids, good spots for photoshoots!

Yelp
A family member coordinated our visit to the Bushue's Pumpkin Patch. I hadn't been to the Bushue farm before, so I arrived with no expectations.  I was impressed with all that the farm offered.  We arrived a little earlier than our 3pm hayride reservation. Two wagons were pulled by a tractor. The open aired wagon allowed the two families to have their own space. We picked a few pumpkins,  took some pictures,  then hopped back on the wagon. There were so many pumpkins- big and small.  At the main part of the farm, they have a pig train for kids. So cute! There was also another train being pulled by a John Deere for kids to enjoy. After paying for our pumpkins (pay by weight), we checked out the farm animals. The pig is big! There were also sheep and goats. There is a pumpkin patch next to the farm animals (so you don't need to do the hay ride which costs).  We picked up an apple cider slushie, hot dog, apple cider and pumpkin flavored donuts. The slushie was sooo good!  There are tables and portable toilets near the snack stand.  The farm was easy to find and there is lots of parking.   The check-in area is clearly marked as you enter the grounds and a good amount of workers wanting to help. Special thanks to the worker who let us use their patio chair. The patio chair provided a steady ride for a family member who needed it on the hayride. This is a great Fall event for all ages and a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
This review is specifically for the apple cider donuts, I have not been to the farm (yet!). Anyway, they were the first apple cider donuts I've ever tried and they will not be my last. My coworker brought one in for me and it was seasoned with sugar, but not too much that it was falling all over the place. The donut was like a cake donut and had a scrumptious cinnamon and apple flavor. It was a perfect seasonal treat!

Yelp
First-rate family fun! Big fans here - have been every year since we discovered it. Do NOT forget their artisan doughnuts

Yelp
Just what we were looking for! Free admission. Pumpkins on (and off) the vine. All the add-ons were inexpensive ($3 pig train ride). Cider donuts, cider slush, and even the hot dogs were great! Super friendly and helpful employees. Pumpkins were reasonably priced. My 10 yo and I had a great time!

Yelp
The website is very misleading, it said that you get a reserved hayride for an hour and a half, so we expected to be driven around for that time and instead 10 min in we stop at a lack there of pumpkin patch and the hayride just circles back to the beginning. The lady that checks you in was extremely rude (to be honest c*nty) like families are coming here paying over priced prices so you could at least have manners and not be rude like you're tired and your job is beneath you. All in all it was nice getting out of the house but not coming back again

Yelp
This place is AWESOME for children under 5. It's a small patch which is nice! No crowds or older kids running all over the little ones. I really enjoyed the hayride to where they grow their pumpkins. The animals are quite clean compared to the animals you see at larger pumpkin patches. The staff was sweet and friendly. Oh & if you love to pick pumpkins off the vines this is the place for you! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a little ones and doesn't like big crowds.

Yelp
Wow. Beautiful setting, not too crowded, prices are so reasonable and fresh donuts were on point! My family of 6 had a great time for less than $30. This kind of gem doesn't come along often in the Portland area. So often I feel taken advantage of by cheesy tourist traps but this place was adorable and a steal! I met one of the Bushues who was so sweet and clearly cared a lot about her family's business. We will definitely be making this place a tradition.

Yelp
Bushue Bash Bonanza! Wow, what an excellent way to spend a morning with your closest pals. From homemade mulled cider to the tantalizing corn trail, Bushue's have it all. The pinnacle of our adventure was Mr. Dennis Rider, who is much more than a hay-ride driver. We definitely recommend the homemade pumpkin and apple cider donuts! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came here for strawberry picking with my children. We had an amazing time. The woman running it was very friendly and helpful explaining the different kind of strawberries . Sad we came on the last day of the season but we'll be back in the fall to pick some fresh veggies !!

Yelp
Thought we were going to a pumpkin patch because it said pumpkin patch, but there was no patch. They just had a bunch of pumpkins laying in a grassy area. The view of Mt. Hood was spectacular, the scenery around the farm is beautiful, the drive was worth all that alone, but we were disappointed that there was no actual patch. The staff gave me a hard time about my service dog also, asking what service she provided. If you run a business, please familiarize yourself with ADA laws on service dogs. You walk a really thin line when you question anyone on their service dogs. They don't require a vest also. Please know the rights of ADA.

Yelp
We went today with our toddler daughter and loved every minute! Everyone working there is friendly and helpful. There are cute activities for kids and sweet farm animals too. The pumpkins are reasonably priced and the donuts are delicious. This will definitely be a yearly tradition do us.

Yelp
Worth the drive! We went on Father's Day 2018 and there were still plenty of strawberries left. Great sweet Hood River berries, and still more to ripen. Good price too. We will go back to this place every year!

Yelp
Great all around pumpkin patch experience with beautiful views of the flower fields and Mt Hood. Tractor hay rides, pick your own pumpkins in the field or in lot, farm animals, play area, amazing views and great people. We'll definitely be back next year!

Yelp
Awesome people!! Affordable pumpkin patch. My kids enjoyed the activities. Can't wait to go berry picking there. I will being going back next year. The little baby piglets were so cute! Corn maze was short and sweet. Perfect for little ones.

Yelp
This was a nice low-key quiet pumpkin patch run by friendly people. We're new to the 'pumpkin patch scene' (we visited with a 1-year-old) but we found it to be the right size and pace for us and him.
