Great clean and delicious place! We went for Brunch and everything was flavorful, tasty, and would come again. Betty was a great server, very patient, and knew the menu! We ordered a waffle and it was very fluffy, had the right amount of crunch, wasn’t too sweet, and perfect to share for 3 people (5/5). The country potato’s were flavorful and not too oily (it won’t disappoint!) 4.7/5. 1/3 lb small hamburger W/ lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and seasoned fries - 5/5 I ordered this and was amazing!! One of the best burgers I’ve eaten. The patty was juicy, mouth watering, and had fresh veggies. I thought the size was perfect, I get full easily so this was the perfect size not too small not too big. They also have 1/2 lb and 1 lb hamburger. If you eat a lot the 1/2 lb or 1 lb would be good. The bread was fresh.The fries were perfectly seasoned and filling. I could just eat the fries alone!! Swiss Philly Melt - 4/5 The meat was juicy and not chewy, very soft. They forgot to put onions , (so the rating went down). Also the bread did feel a bit buttery for this persons liking (personal preference). Fries were really good too. Eggs/ Hashbrowns: 4/5 The eggs were very soft some thought it could be fluffier. And has browns were a little on the fried side , some thought they were perfect. Pricing- Very fair for the portion sizes. We paid average around 10-14 per plate. In total for 4 plates was $73.49.

The food was OK plain breakfast. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with hashbrowns toast and a cup of coffee. My lady ordered Belgian waffles with bacon two eggs. She said she love it i was it’s okay. The only thing I didn’t like I was charged for toes when it said it comes with it overall my total was $35. I took the Lady six bucks. It wasn’t that busy that day. It was Sunday early in the morning around 10 PM..

Our first time at Busy Bee Cafe! I enjoyed my Corned beef hash platter with a waffle. My husband had a regular breakfast platter with bacon and 1/2 cinnamon roll, he said that he liked it too!! All I want to say if you come here you better come hungry! Plates are Texas Size and delicious!!

First time and the Last time my wife and I will be going there our coffee cups were stained and not washed when they served our coffee to us and the table wasn’t wiped off we had to ask to wipe our table down before we sat down. The server puts her hand all over the rim of the cup when serving hygiene was terrible. The food was fine though.

SO GOOD! But even better? Their service! I can’t wait to go back here for breakfast. Everyone is very kind and our server was just the sweetest. When she saw how I wasn’t a morning person and so grateful for coffee, she brought me the entire pitcher to help myself. Everything was served hot, fresh, and quick. You can have anything your heart desires with white or brown gravy, grits, white or wheat toast, biscuits, sausage patties or links, and eggs cooked perfectly no matter how you order them. They had the best country hits playing, and soon with enough coffee, I was singing as I ate my eggs. This place is the best for breakfast in Pearland!

First time here since moving to the pearland area and I must say, the chicken fried steak, potatoes and my eggs were cooked to perfection!! My waitress was the sweetest!! The plates are super huge! I suggest you bring your appetite here!

Ordered waffle and 2 eggs over easy. Paid a surcharge for using a credit card which I wasn't told about in advance. Waffle was soft and eggs were scrambled, not over easy. No senior citizen discounts. I asked waitress a question and she opened my takeout order and stuck her finger inside on my to go platter. Looking for a local place, but won't be this one.

Pleasantly surprised. The food had flavor and was seasoned well. I ordered the grilled chicken with vegetables and my husband had the chicken steak. I would definitely return again. My only complaint is the big spider that was on the table and the dead spider that was by my foot. The waiter wasn't very attentive, we had to flag her down to place our order and again to refill the drinks.

The lady was so nice and are order was quick and the food was amazing 5 stars to the chef and the service was excellent

I cant believe ive lived in Pearland this long without coming here. Super kind staff serving fresh, delicious breakfast food. I will certainly never be going to Ihop again as long as this place is around!

Busy Bee Café (more like Lazy Fly Diner) If you've ever wondered what disappointment tastes like, come to Busy Bee Café. The name's a lie -- the only thing "busy" here is the staff avoiding eye contact. My coffee arrived lukewarm, my toast was somehow both burnt and soggy, and the "friendly atmosphere" felt about as warm as a tax audit. It's the kind of place where you start checking your watch halfway through ordering, wondering if you've fallen into a time loop. Maybe the bees left, and they just forgot to change the sign. Save yourself the trouble -- there are vending machines with more charm and better service.

The food the service the place IS AMAZING it gives such old diner vibes. I love it so much. I eat here all the time and I would eat here every single day if I could, the burgers are excellent the chicken fried steak is also hands-down the best chicken fried steak I have ever had The seats are very comfortable. It is very nice and clean, and I love the decorations that they put up. A nice shout out to all the workers there they are very nice and friendly. Very polite and get you everything you need as fast as they can.

Love the feel of this place and the wait staff is very nice, but we went on an extremely busy day and it took 45 plus minutes to receive our food. I had the chicken and waffles which looked great, but the flavor just wasn't there. I do like their decent coffee which is definitely a plus when most places are trying to save money by serving horrible bean juice! lol We'll have to stop by for some breakfast another day when it isn't so busy and we can see what the cook actually has to offer.

The food that they have here you can make better at home. It is very basic breakfast that can easily be made better with the ingredients you have in your fridge. Service is okay I would go maybe for a quick lunch since they're not busy around that time.

Pretty solid breakfast experience with servers that are sweet as their cinnamon rolls. I had the Build-a-Breakfast with poached eggs, bacon, and half a cinnamon roll (which was still too much) and an iced coffee. Hubs had the chicken fried steak with hash browns and a drip coffee. He liked the flavor but said the steak had a bit too much gristle for his liking. My breakfast was fine, can't go wrong with bacon and eggs! And we could not finish that cinnamon roll because it was SWEEEEEEEEET. Good lord save me from my diabeetus!

Had breakfast here. Eggs and bacon were cooked as requested. I like their shredded has browns. They were actually cooked all the way through.

It was worth your money! Not super expensive but also yummy! Service was quick and super nice staff!

Years ago on Christmas Day, after celebrating the night before with our large family, we decided we did not want to cook and started searching to see what was open in the area. Busy Bee was. I've been in Pearland for over 20 years and this place has always been here, right off the railroad track in "old" Pearland. I've often wondered how they stay in business with all the chains around, but this is one of those places that has that hometown feel and has many regulars. Since our first visit, Busy Bee is that spot we go to on an actual holiday. I have yet to come here on a regular day of the year. The staff here is wonderful. You get that genuine good service from a more seasoned worker, not the kids who don't understand what good customer service is at one of the chains in the area. This place has times when there are no cars in the lot, but at peak times, it's full. Walking in, you can tell it's been around for awhile. It's got that old time charm. Everyone seems to know each other. There's a bar top where people eat at or there's plenty of seating in the dining area as well. Food wise, I've had a variety of things. I've had a good ole traditional breakfast with eggs, proteins and a starch. You can build your own breakfast which I like so I can get exactly what I want. I just discovered their cinnamon rolls which are massive and delicious. On my most recent visit, I went with a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and mac. It was a large portion and I ate three meals out of it. Was it the best I've had? Nah. It was good though. It's what you would expect at a local diner. You gotta go in with that mindset. I have yet to find that meal that wows me here, but I always leave satisfied. They seem to be doing just fine with their peak crowds and regulars. It'll probably be same time next year when I come next, but I will be back!

Stopped by after seeing this restaurant on the road. It was confusing to find the main door and whether we had to seat ourselves or not. We flagged someone down to clean the table for us. The waitresses were nice and the food was ok. We had to ask two different waitresses for our utensils because the first one forgot. It's hard to mess up breakfast. It was good but I was not wow'd. I had the Cajun breakfast. The potatoes, some were soft others weren't cooked all the way through. They also needed more seasoning. The star of the plate was the sausage. I also had a short stack of pancakes on the side. The pancakes are large and buttery. My partner had the fried seafood plate. The crust was seasoned well. I like that they mix their cocktail sauce with a little horseradish to give it a little kick.

It was just "ok". I mean not terrible but just ok. I will give it another try again but that being said...I think I would have enjoyed it much better had the place been cleaner. Service was great! Side note- The restroom was absolutely disgusting.

Haven't been in here in a while but I'm glad I did. It's a simple restaurant, you pick your seat and are served shortly afterwards. The staff is pleasant and the food comes out quick and hot. They weren't kidding when they said the full cinnamon roll was huge and for about $6 I was very pleasantly surprised. The dough of the cinnamon roll was good and moist. I wish the icing was a bit less thick but the flavors went well and it was a good addition to my cup of coffee. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll probably be back to try the rest of the menu.

Favorite meal is liver and onions with brown gravy. With grilled zucchini And corn casserole as sides. Big delicious yeast rolls to go with brown gravy.

So this place is like Cheers bar to my family in Pearland & I really appreciate the wait staff service but the food... ughh that's a whole different book all together. While visiting Pearland the 2 different weekends in the month of April I was subjected to eat here 3 times because in my family age beats out the taste of food, meaning when you are with family you only see a few times a year the places your elders choose to eat beat out where you choose because the company you are in is all that matters. That being said the busy bee must cater to mostly the elderly because they do not season their food at all. I mentioned this to my aunt who kept choosing this place, she laughed & said yes I can't have salt anymore... she proceeded to tell me her long list of other elements she has also then said that's why us old folk eat there. I did order a patty melt on the last day & that was pretty tasty. The wait staff is very nice. It does take a long time to get your food even though they seat you quickly which is odd. I really don't care for the food but my family seems to love it so I know I will be back.

I am Always seeking the best CFS!! Pretty good eats here at down home prices. Good portion of CFS, with cream gravy, corn casserole, large plate of fresh lettuce-tomato-onion salad. $15 . Including taxes. Services speed matches the made to order meals. Salad greens very fresh. Corn casserole well cooked whole kernel corn with corn bread binder. Okrah was fresh, lightly breaded, I definitely could eat here again

came in for a late 'brunch' after waffle house let us down. service was 10/10! our server was Carmen and she was very sweet and attentive. the food was amazing as well, cooked to order and tasty. my favorite part was the soft and flakey biscuit i can't wait to come again!

I've been coming here with my family. The food is consistent and inexpensive. It's a relaxed country Cafe atmosphere with the food to match. Portions are huge! Try the chicken fried steak! Their breakfasts can't be beat and their cinnamon rolls are enormous. Be sure to check out the pie cooler as well.

I've lived in Pearland for 25 years and never went to The Busy Bee until yesterday. I usually go to Kelley's for that kind of food. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food for a reasonable price. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. There were quite a few fresh vegetables listed in their sides. I'm probably going to get the veggie plate next time. My husband ordered the burger. It was a good diner 1/3 lb burger with jalapeños. The ladies that work there are charming, and it's pretty cozy inside. I would've given it five stars if we hadn't been subjected to Fox News on three huge televisions. That definitely affected the ambience for me and my husband.

I have not been here since I was 3! Very nice service and great country music playing. I had French toast for dinner.

My family is fairly new to Pearland and because of Covid, we haven't explored many restaurants in town. We decided to go out to lunch after our first in-person church service (since March 2020). I absolutely LOVE diners and found Busy Bee Cafe on Yelp. I actually didn't read any of the reviews prior to going but I am reading them now and am actually SHOCKED by all the low ratings this place has. TOTALLY not our experience at all... We came around 11:30am on a Sunday. A sign at the door said "Seat yourself" and we went into the back room which is reserved for parties of 5 or more. Perfect for our family of 5. I'd say the restaurant had a fair share of customers. Not overly crowded but not empty either. Our server, Jennifer K, was exceptional!! Very friendly, prompt and helpful. She was personable, not a robot just "doing her job". I liked that she called me "mom" and always served me first. Made me feel special. My husband and I both went with the club sandwich (LOVE DINER CLUBS), I got mine with regular fries and he got the house made chips. Our girls both picked the kids pancake (ps it's shaped like Mickey Mouse) with sausage and our son got the kids chicken strips with fries. The food was FANTASTIC! Our clubs were perfect! Fries were piping hot and delicious and the fresh chips were awesome: crispy yet soft at the same time. We had to sample the kid's food.... you know, for research purposes of course. The chicken strips were INCREDIBLE. Are they house-made??? They sure seemed like it to us AND there were 4 of them! (I might get those next time they were THAT good). Now for our daughter's pancakes... I'm not a huge pancake fan, I mean, I think the only time in my adult life that I ate them was when I was pregnant... anyways, Busy Bee Cafe's pancakes were so good! I also never would put butter on them but the girls put the whipped butter AND syrup on them and it was so delicious, my "one bite" might have turned into like 3 or 4. Yeah, so good! As for the atmosphere, well, this place definitely looks old. I'm not going to lie when I was a bit concerned with the possible mold on the ceiling tiles out in the large group section. Yeah, again, not sure how this place got so many low reviews. We had a GREAT experience and want to try it again next Sunday. Could this be our new "Sunday spot"?!?!??

Very great hole in the wall, with great homey breakfast. Coffee is great and servers make you feel like family. 10/10 recommend. Deff order the cinnamon roll it's huge!

I went there with my 98-year-old mom for lunch. When we walked in, it was very warm, and the waitress had told us they had to call the owner to turn down the air. I ordered the chicken fried steak and green beans and mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak was very chewy. I ate less than half of it when I told the waitress about it she said have a good rest of your day. The green beans were from a can. My mom ordered the grilled catfish off the senior menu. She got zucchini and onions and she said the onions were very salty.

My only regret is not discovering this place sooner! I have lived in the area for over 2 years now, and we came in on Easter Sunday, and wow! We have been searching for a classic breakfast spot outside of Waffle House, First Watch, etc; and it is safe to say that we found it! It is self-seating, but the wait staff is super quick to take your order and the food comes out in record time. They have excellent customer service, and it is so warm and welcoming! We will definitely be coming back again! P.S. please try the chicken fried steak! It is incredible!

I was t very happy with my food. The pork chop was super tiny. My food was not hot just a little warm and room temperature. My server was really good and I liked her but my food needed flavor

Awesome food,home made feel and is one of those gems that we need to support . I hardly write reviews but lady's truly deserve one

No greeting upon entry. No guidance on what to do or signage. Six waitresses for a 3/4 full, at the most, restaurant but they managed to avoid us. We sat at a table and not tucked a way in the booth. After soliciting assistance the waitress tried to play it off but was slow getting our drinks. Then, our chosen menu item wasn't available and we had to ask for the menus back because we failed to memorize it when we had it. That waitress bailed on us and we got a new one...so as not to negatively affect the pooled tips? Left the new waitress 15%. While we were waiting, which was the majority of our time at Busy Bug, two waitresses were socializing with a table of three elderly people. So, parties of three or more get two waitresses, any less good luck! Not planning on visiting the Busy Bug again.

This diner has been one of my favorite small business to go to, excellent country cooking food, their pecan pie is out if this world. The workers are very polite and well mannered. I would definitely recommend this to all of my peers. 10/10

This place can be a joy to eat at or a complete waste of money. I have tried this place many times over the past 20 years and the best that I can determine is that sometimes they have good staff and sometimes not so good. Presently the staff is no good so I don't currently recommend this place. Hopefully this will change soon since I like the location and the food when it is good.

Our server Sandra was very friendly & attentive. Best burger I've had in years! My husband loved the country fried steak!! He almost ordered another to take home! Can't wait to come back to visit.

We have enjoyed the "home town cooking" and this authentic 50- style restaurant for over 20 years. Many of the staff have been waiting on us for almost that long. It is a great place to go back in time and enjoy the experience...except...the constant TV that gives out political rhetoric and angry commentators. When we asked to put on a channel with more pleasant news, we were told that the staff was forbidden to change the channel I really don't want politics with my delicious ham and eggs We won't go back

Place is really good with fantastic staff.They help each other out when the place gets packed. Ordered two eggs over easy, hashbrown, toast and of course hot cocoa. Sometimes, I get bacon which arrives nice and crispy. Even on busy days, your food arrives hot and swift served in good size portion. I really like the bench seating also. Warm seating available in extended sections.

A really great local fav! Sweet ladies wait on us patiently. The food portions are huge! The only complaint is the gravy for biscuits and gravy has too much pepper in it.

The first time I came here, a different lady served me, and the breakfast was pretty darn good. This time.........I sit there for 10 minutes, and a lady walks up to me asked me what I want, and I said the eggs, bacon, sausage meal, and she rudely says "we don't serve that on the weekends", walks away from me, and proceeds to take someone else's order (regular? dunno).............Just walks away from me.......after "we don't serve that on the weekends".......and starts to take some completely different person's order than the one she was talking to. So I got up and left.....laughing out loud at this stupid backwater BS I just experienced. Just watched me walk out the door. She won't be getting my 15-20 bucks, or whatever it was gonna cost. Really nice service, you just lost a new customer, and are receiving a crap score from me. That had to have been the rudest thing any server has ever done to me.

The Busy Bee is a unpretentious place. It's very simple in it's decor and has a great down home feel. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. Our server was Bina, a sweet helpful young woman. The menu for breakfast is simple yet plenty of choices. My wife had bacon and eggs with biscuits and a half of a cinnamon roll. I had corned beef hash, two eggs, hash browns and biscuits. The food however plentiful is where this breakfast went south. The biscuits were average but heated in a microwave in plain view of customers. My corned beef hash was out of a can. The half cinnamon roll was covered in thick dense icing. Thick enough to be cut with a fork. This meal was a big disappointment to say the least. We both agreed we wouldn't be going back.

First time here. Ordered the breakfast quesadilla which included egg, Monterey Jack cheese, and sausage. The tortilla was cooked perfectly, so crispy and buttery. The only thing that would have made it better was tiny hash browns in the quesadilla.

The older lady who worked up Front and took our to-go order was so sweet! The only issue I have is the other lady working who's younger with black hair/septum piecing was being extremely rude to the older lady, like noticeably rude. Rolling her eyes, scolding her etc. In front or costumers!! Like who does that. She's someone's grandma!

I don't write reviews at all but for this place I will we came here for brunch with my wife for our anniversary and I can say this was the best food I have ever had I just had surgery in my mouth so I can't chew Vary well and the potatoes were really soft and so enjoyable I just want to thank the restaurant and staff for this wonderful experience

Amazing food, amazing service. I think our waitress was Cassy. First time visit and We had mid-afternoon breakfast. We had the chicken fried steak and eggs, hash browns, rolls, biscuits and pancakes and it was all delicious! I can't believe I have lived in this area my entire life and have never tried Busy-Bee. The only disappointment I have is that I have lost so many years of good food! Our waitress was so attentive and sweet! We will absolutely be back!

I won't beat around the bush... skip this place. There was absolutely nothing that my family of 5 had that was worth paying money for. They can't cook eggs to the requested temp, the hash browns are soggy/mushy, the only inedible bacon I've ever had (soggy with grease), pancakes that my pancake obsessed 6 yo ate 1 bite of (haven't seen that before or since), coupled with being crammed into a booth barely suited for 2 people (couldnt even fit all of our food on the table) while an entire room full of larger tables in service that we were not allowed to move to exists...makes this a place I am unsure of why it exists and will never return to. Can you make a decent breakfast in your own kitchen? If so, you could open a diner next door and run this place out of business. Please do! That said our waitress was great considering the circumstances.

The first time we had food here it was excellent, the next time not so good. the last time it just terrible the chicken fried steak was extra well done the okra was burnt even the corn chowder was bad. If the chicken fried steak is their specialty. I do not think so. better get a new cook!

Once we saw that the restaurant was at 100% capacity, with very little space between tables, and the wait staff was not wearing masks properly (some taking masks off completely to have conversations) we decided to take our food to go. We thought the food was great. But they're not a safe place to sit down and eat.
