I was waiting out the icing roads. Stopped in. Nice little diner! Good coffee! Had the biscuits and gravy with two slices of bacon. Very good! Fast friendly service! They were busy. I looked at other meals, the portions were good size!

A very good find for a quick weekend. No wait to sit, sat down with a refreshing cup of water. Food came out quick, hot and delicious. The staff was on it and very friendly. The chicken fried steak was perfect. Some of the best sausage gravy I've had, the steak was also super fresh. Only draw back were the potatoes, not that they weren't good, just not on the same level as all the rest. When I am back through Springfield, I will visit Busy Bee again.

Great meal for the price, my dog is going to love the leftovers. The sausage gravy is perfect, and the chicken fried steak seems to actually be hand made. I recommend to anyone. Service animal friendly, but make sure your animal actually is a Service animal. Nobody likes a disruptive dog while they eat.

My potatoes were not completely cooked, my eggs were to be tasted medium, they were medium well. The country fried steak was wonderful. Real meat not pressed. They asked if they could remake the eggs but it was too much food, but they did not charge me for extra gravy to take. Coffee was expensive for a diner.

This place is blatantly RACIST. Sickenly so. * * Did we miss the sign "no Blacks served"? Sure seemed like it! The food came with a huge black hair on the yellow, scrambled eggs. It could be seen 10 feet away. Older waitress, including 2 others coalesced in the kitchen, looked out and laughed, staring at my African American Black friend. A Citizen of the USA. An American. She didn't eat and waited. Finally the old white Waitress "offered" to replace the food, but clearly wanted her to leave. Seems it was their strategy from the start. Not only was the servers rude, but the general atmosphere is a bunch of older white people. Who have nothing better than to be nosy and stare. If you know anything about politics, you already know the demographic at this old dingy place. Truly shameful and deeply disrespectful place. To openly, mock and laugh to seemingly provide contaminated food...to get a paying customer to leave?? Who knows what else they've done to other customers over the decades... So, we left hungry - upset woman in tears - and Busy Bee-lined it to @@ The Pump café, @@ also on Main Street. It was pleasant, nonjudgmental, good service, nice customers, and fantastic food. After all the stress, my lady ordered a mimosa to calm her nerves. An excellent $80 breakfast and worth every dollar. Big tip of course! Anecdote: End of the day we realized that those people are miserable every day, no matter how many times they go to church to repent, have no clue what it means to love your brother and sister. Never mind common decency, and respect. While they are being paid on the job to serve others. Maybe I'll stop by in the near future to see if the owner did anything about it. She probably was the owner...🙄

I hadn’t been here in years and I went in with great memories of the food and service. Some things were the same- classic small town diner decor and friendliness. Big portions. My husband said his food was good- bacon cooked nicely and his pancakes (which were huge) had a nice flavor, but were pretty tough. My meal, however, was a different story. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs. My biscuit was VERY overcooked. The crust was so browned that it wasn’t edible. The gravy was delicious. My scrambled eggs were very undercooked and runny. (My personal taste is fully cooked- no running or glistening.) My biggest disappointment was that the waitress never checked if the food was ok, or checked in with me about why I didn’t touch the eggs that I had made an extra effort to order. We are leaving to go through a drive through and grab me a sandwhich, since I left most of my food behind. We are trying to decide if we should give this place another shot or just move on.

It was a great experience. I have not been here for the last couple of years, but I always loved their biscuits and gravy. This time, I got the chicken fried steak with country fries, and my partner got the omelet with hash browns. The restaurant was busy when I got here, but I was still seated right away. The service was fantastic, the price is very reasonable. Overall, this is just a great place to go get breakfast.

The Busy Bee Cafe is my father’s, and his friends go to for Breakfast before every Ducks game. My Fiancé, and I really enjoy the Bee. The merch is fun, the waitress was on top of it, the food was just what you could expect from a traditional American restaurant, and I wouldn’t change a thing. It can be busy in the morning especially during a game or some other event that may be happening locally. It’s worth the wait, and I highly recommend the Busy Bee Cafe.

The food is always good hot and a lot of it biscuits and gravy are the best and the service is always quick and friendly As for Ambience it's one of those places that's a springfield restaurant that you can't pass by with out stopping it's quaint clean and old timer sitting at the counter having coffee that have been doing it for years. This was recommended to me by my brother and I'm so glad we went. The place is such a cute place with Bee decor and sayings all around. It's an old school place with a diner feel to it. Our food was delicious and the service was efficient and attentive. Definitely a place worth trying!

We stopped by for breakfast. The service was great very personable waitress. It was decorated very cute with lots of Coke things. The food was good, I had biscuits and gravy, my husband had a waffle and my daughter had a Denver omelette all which was good.

Five stars for the food and service! Three stars for the prices (seemed spendy for diner food) and the lack of cleanliness around the restaurant.

More like 3.5 stars. Very friendly service, they easily pulled tables together for our larger party. No frills kind of place. Coffee came out immediately and was hot and refilled often but not great quality. Good kids menu for a fair price. I had the corned beef hash special and enjoyed it. Food took a long time to come out so would not come here in a hurry. Plus extra points for nice changing table in bathroom.

Traveling on the I5 and hungry for breakfast. Not wanting fast food, I searched Yelp for some ideas. We came across this cafe and drove the four miles from the exit to this blast-from-the-past restaurant. Kitschy Coca Cola decor and Elvis Presley grace the walls and tables. Friendly staff greeted us with smiles and gave us the rundown on what's prepared in-house. Their recommendations were on point. The chicken fried steak was probably the best we've had in a restaurant! Hand-dipped cube steak with a crunchy, well seasoned coating was covered in a creamy, peppery gravy and paired with a side of eggs, country potatoes, and buttered sourdough toast. We also got a half order of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was tender and fluffy, and for $5.50, that was the bargain dish of the day. And our coffee and ice tea were refilled often. For a locals place, we felt right at home from the moment we walked through the door. Looking forward to our next visit.

I've heard that the older couple who owned/ran this place has retired. A lot about the business is still the same. They have updated/enlarged the bathroom, so it is now wheelchair accessible. The portions are not as huge as they used to be, but the price is still very good. I had the Veggie omelet with hashbrowns & homemade biscuit($11). It was very tasty, and definitely satisfied my hunger. My husband had the steak sandwich that has caramelized onions & cheese paired with sweet potato fries ($15). He said it was very good.

This was our first time eating here. Diner like vibes, quick and efficient service, and food was good.

Insidesmells like old grease, pancakes were not light & fluffy as described on menu, some mushrooms in the omlette were slightly warm and other mushrooms in same omletter were cooked til almost crisp, home fries were super dark brown. Waitress had good customer service. I will not go to this establishment again.

We came here for a Sunday morning breakfast and were not disappointed. Service and food were both great. We were seated promptly, got our waters and coffee. Food arrived not too long after ordering. I had the Busy Bee Special with waffle: a nice big fluffy waffle, 2 slices of bacon and 2 eggs over-medium. Yumm! We also had the scramble, without bell peppers. But the winner of was the Chicken Fried Steak, with eggs over easy and country fries. The steak was tender with perfectly crisp outer layer and very nicely seasoned. So good, it's what I will be ordering from now on, despite not being a big breakfast lover! The ambiance is casual but clean. Plenty of free parking. They are open for breakfast and lunch, with a relatively limited menu but still plenty of choices. Definitely recommend this local favorite.

The prices are amazing for the portions. I asked for two eggs but I think I got 4 scrambled eggs. I had to waste some. The toast was over buttered. The staff were nice.

If you are looking for a "diner" experience, then this might fit the bill for you. The portions are HUGE. We ended up all leaving 1/2 our breakfast behind. They were out of the banana pancakes so my daughter got chocolate chip. They were ok. I got a traditional breakfast. The bacon was cooked well and my egg was nice and runny. The oatmeal was a little blah. Looks like they can host larger parties, which is nice.

Heck, we just loved this place. Definitely a hidden gem in this corner of Springfield (just outside of Eugene), this is like a 1950's diner with the same ambience, friendliness, and food choices you'd expect in one of those converted railway cars. Although the place was PACKED, we were seated in less than 5 minutes and coffee appeared not long thereafter. I was honestly surprised at how fast our food was prepared (traditional breakfasts, yo) and really pleased at how TASTY everything was! It's a real family place, lots of kids having fun, drawing, people chatting, really made us feel right at home. We'll be back.

We walked in and had to almost 5 minutes to be noticed. Finally seated had to wait for menus and when the waitress came to take our order she decided we needed more time and walked away! We had been ready but had to wait for her to come back. There only 4 tables being used. Not busy at all. Food was good but a little higher priced than what we are used to. Might go back, but after today it may be a while.

Oh my gosh! My Husband and I just had breakfast there and it was so good. I had biscuits and gravy and my husband had French toast. The biscuits and gravy was outstanding! We will be back!

We pulled up in our Out of State car and as we got out all the customers inside turned to look. Awfully quiet when we entered. No smiles from anyone! Hubby had pancakes and I had French toast, which was awesome! Even the bacon was made to where I liked it. The red-haired waitress was kind and very helpful.

Being a fan of the earlier Busy Bee I was sad to see the owner retire. Having read that the new young owners already were running 2 other establishments I wasn't too optimistic. Well my worries were totally unnecessary. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak and I ordered the meat lovers omlet but asked that the ham be excluded. Not a problem. What arrived was a chicken fried steak that took up the whole plate. We were both stunned. The hash browns were on the side and the 2 fried eggs were hiding underneath the steak, All this food was enough to feed two people. It was all excellent according to my friend. My omlet surprised me also. It was filled with a more than generous amount of chopped up bacon and sausage. It was delicious and needed no salt or pepper. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and moist - not soggy- on the inside. Turned out that it was my main meal of the day. It was very satisfying and quite filling. My friend could only plow through the steak. He took the eggs and hash browns home. All of this food was at the traditionally low Busy Bee price of yesteryear. I couldn't stop talking about it on the long drive home. I'm now a sworn, dyed-in-the-wool patron of the reborn Busy Bee. I'm not a fan of taking pictures of my meals. Sorry. But the other photos are quite accurate.

been twice now and the service isn't slow but they don't rush (preferred tbh, especially in the morning). portions are more than enough for a very reasonable price. lots of bee and coca cola decor which is super cute and classic "diner" vibe! the servers are all very sweet and the regulars clearly love the place. will come back for sure!

perfect breakfast spot. everything i wanted and more. super cute decor, silly signs and messages all throughout the store. good cup of coffee, i got the bacon and sausage breakfast. eggs over easy, hash browns, sourdough toast and of course the bacon and sausage. a lot of food for 15$, worth it. they also had this HUGE bottle of cholula which i thought was silly. real nice comforting vibe in there, super nice waiter. just a classic spot i can see myself coming back to.

After searching for an edible breakfast in the Eugene/springfield area at 7:00am, and stumbled upon this...beacon of hope known as "the busy bee" . Draped in Coca Cola decor, Elvis paintings, and classic country diner vibes, I felt welcome as soon as I stepped in. Beards and hats are more than welcome at the Busy bee, and that's fortunate for a bearded, hatted gentleman like myself and many of the patrons. We were seated by a young woman who was friendly and kind and happy to assist us in picking what to eat. We settled on chicken fried steak and a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie. The food came fast and fresh. Everything was homemade and wonderful. The service was excellent and I can't wait to come back. Our waitress went the extra mile to make sure we had a nice meal. I can't thank her enough for her kindness on a day we really needed someone to be kind. Five stars, only because It won't let me give more than that.

4 stars for the food, but the staff is worth an extra star. This is diner/cafe food. It's good for what it is, and the portions are giant. You are not leaving hungry! The prices are also super reasonable. Cheap food that's tasty? Always a winner! The staff is very friendly, and while I didnt go before due to the shutdown, I'd imagine their service is outstanding for dine in. Definitely looking forward to coming back- especially for the salads which look amazing! *edited to add- I've been back a few times. Garden vegetable soup is fantastic. Clam chowder is the best I've had in town. I'd actually say it's better than some I've had on the coast. My partner had a chef salad and my dad had a taco salad, both said the salads were great. Betty is just the sweetest lady, and the staff is continually nice. I want to support them just because of how awesome everyone is in here. If you haven't been, go support them! They've been a weekly stop for us, and I'm already looking forward to trying their navy bean and split pea soups!

New owners have carried the torch for sure. The food is as good as it was previously. The decor has changed a bit and prices are a bit higher but overall a very consistent 4 star breakfast place. The waitresses are attentive and prompt as well. Keep up the good work!

This was ok for breakfast. Food was good not great. But then again it is Eugene/springfield.

Great little diner style restaurant. It was busy, and that's always a good sign. Loved the cute decor and pleasant atmosphere. The servers were all friendly and helpful. Kept my coffee topped off. We had a delicious variety of food and everything was nicely presented. Every person at our table had more than enough food and the prices were decent for the amount of food we received. I had the banana pancakes with a side of bacon . They had a nice banana flavor with a kick of cinnamon to boot. Definitely more than I could eat alone. Those pancakes are plate sized! The bacon was nice and crispy. Just the way we like it. My husband had the meatlover omelette and it was filled with goodness. He also had RYE toast which is something he really enjoys and is not often a choice. My daughter had the waffle which was fluffy and tasty. It was a little boring with just syrup - next time we will try the fruit compote to liven it up. My sister had the biscuits and gravy and they were super yummy. I was the reviewer so I got to taste everyone' s breakfast. LUCKY ME! I would definitely go back again when I am visiting Springfield.

This place was pretty decent. I ordered hash browns, biscuit & gravy. Partner got a chicken fried steak and it was huge and homemade. He loved it, got eggs and hb as well with toast. Only small thing was ants in the salt shaker. Food was very good though. And I'd go back honestly. Friendly staff and plenty to serve you.

BOMB! This single word describes my food. I ordered the hamburger steak and eggs breakfast. The eggs were the most perfectly cooked eggs I have ever had. Their hashbrowns were golden and crispy. And the hamburger patty was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I'm not sure I have ever had a breakfast so perfectly executed!! When we got there, there was a short wait, which I didnt mind because it means it must be good. We were seated and waited a little longer than usual for our food, but since it was busy I completely understood the wait. My water was never refilled, but the rest of the experience was so great that I didnt mind. I am a very picky breakfast person and this place is what dreams are made of!!

I think this is the first breakfast place that my whole family completely finished their plates! Everything was good and the prices are great. Instead of being surprised that the bill was high like most places, I was amazed how low it was! Not the most aesthetically pleasing place, but it didn't feel dirty or anything like that. I like how most the breakfast meals had more meat in place of hash browns. Most breakfast places try and give you a full plate of hash browns and not much meat . My kids pancake in the shape of a bee was a super cute touch. The sweet owner came up to us at the end to make sure everything was good. We will definitely come back here.

Easily one of my favorite places in town. Everyone is always extremely (but naturally) friendly food is always freshly made. Comforting in so many ways.

A true ma and pa atmosphere with generous portions and a family friendly style. If you have the chance and an appetite, stop by but the regulars know there are some items not on the menu that are first come, just ask. The little one menu is presented inside a children's book and the hot chocolate is more like a desert. The pancakes always come in the shape of a character and the adult portions are very generous and have that home made flavour. This will be a regular stop for us!

Let me start off: the food's good, but the service is what'll keep me going back. I got a BLT with curly fries and Carla gave me a cinnamon roll (on the house!) because my meal at Busy Bee that day was a treat to mark a personal achievement. My takeout BLT on sourdough was yummy--standard and exactly what I was looking for. I got curly fries as my side and they didn't fare well on the drive home, which was about 15 minutes. After popping them in the toaster oven, they came back to life. The cinnamon roll was yummy, too, and I found the icing to be just right in amount and sweetness to match the size of the roll. I got a small roll and it was large--I can't even imagine their jumbo roll! Carla and the other women in the cafe made me feel like I was a special customer. You can't beat that. They're friendly and thoughtful people who make a solid BLT. I'll definitely be back to try one of their $6 burger nights!

I have been eating here for several years now. I love that it is a local, family owned business where the entire family pitches in. I always respect places like that. Their food is home cooked comfort food. I love the biscuits and gravy. Omelettes are always great too. Portion sizes are huge. If you leave this place hungry, there's something wrong. Lol. It has a very casual atmosphere, you seat yourself. Everything is relaxed and casual. Almost like you were in your own home. The waitstaff is always friendly and helpful. They clearly have quite a core group of regulars and that tells a lot about the place. I've brought several friends in here to try it out and will keep coming back.

Stopped in Saturday about Noon, needed to get a quick bite before an event. Ordered about 12:05, food on the table in less than 15 minutes. It was really good, a "loaded" Denver omelet, lots of sweet onions, green peppers and ham. Hashbrowns were crisp outside, moist inside. I would eat here again if in the area. My wife really liked her french toast, bacon and eggs as well. Cute little restaurant, staff refilled my coffee twice in the short time we were there, good service.

Classic American breakfast place. 50's style, good prices, very friendly staff (adults who understand the importance of good customer service), and tasty food. What really impressed me is that I got exactly what I asked for, and it was served in short order, with a smile! We will be back!

What an awesome place for having a breakfast! You want local hangout, you want comfort food, you want smiley faces and people know it other by name. This place for you. Food was phenomenal! Everything cook to perfection! Our waitress Becky was super sweet and attractive! The chick on bar - cooked food amazing! We definitely if in area come back here! Loved it! Hand down!

I can tell based on my experience so far I will be coming back again and again if my day starts as late as 6am. I have had two good meals here as of yet. It is your standard diner, but the food is very well done. The local color is a blast as well. Worth a stop if you are looking for a glance at the Oregon timber town culture of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Kinda reminds me a little of Twin Peaks. Good down home people, the old definition of healthy food and people who return respect with respect. Be kind, as these good people have so far been nothing but kind and cheery upon my visits as an outsider. I came first came on a Saturday morning. I had the Prime Rib Special. It was a bit dry, but the au jus and horseradish sauce turned it into perfection. I am guessing it was from Friday nights Prime Rib dinner special. I next came early on a Tuesday morning and had the biscuits and gravy special. $3.99 for a full order. That is what I call a special and it was super good with tons-o-gravy. I was actually finished when I took this picture (that's right I could only eat 1/2 of one biscuit). So filling and scrumy. "Damn good coffee . . . and hot!" Ok, I couldn't resist an agent Cooper quote. The coffee is pretty good for diner coffee and they are not at all shy about refills . Plus, though I have yet to try any, they have a rotating glass pie case with tons of pie (I did not see any cherry, but I suppose it was out of season at the time). I didn't look close, but did notice chocolate and a sign for sugar free apple. There were plenty of other pies and seemed to be some pastries and other baked goods, but I only was able to catch it in the few times as I passed by to m table. Don't expect vegan organic fair with a posh crowd and you just might find the charm I enjoyed here.

The Good: We we're seated right away and the owner was so cheerful and friendly. The portions were huge and the food was so delicious. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best biscuits and gravy my husband has ever had - period. The busy bee pancake was cute and yummy. The waffle was thick and tasty. The eggs and sides of bacon and sausage were done well. The Bad: The service was significantly lacking. We had to sit for 10 min before anyone paid attention to us - when we flagged down a server she apologized, but also started to give some excuse as to why we weren't waited on. After we placed our order, it took 30 min to get our food. And they were busy but it was the end of the brunch time and people were leaving, so it's not that they were slammed. The decor is a mix of bees and kitschy Americana. It is really dated and worn down. A bit of a spruce up and good dusting would do the place some good.

A regular breakfast place for us. Good, simple, giant portions, great B&G, fresh coffee. Great waitstaff and service, always refilling and warming up our coffee. Good prices. Food always tastes yummy and fresh. A favorite!
