Thanksgiving Autumn Specials in London Restaurants to try in 2022 | Eater London

"Blame Butter is a micro-bakery in Maida Vale specialising in sweet American pies run by Chicago born-and-raised pastry chef Asa Balanoff Naiditch, who has also been putting her skills to work in The Pie Room at Holborn Dining Room this year. Asa’s pies celebrate the theatre and nostalgia of American desserts: They are joyfully extravagant but not excessively sweet. The menu for Halloween and Thanksgiving features six speciality pies, including a brown butter pumpkin pie topped with giant homemade marshmallows, a decadent black bottom pecan pie with a thick hidden layer of dark chocolate ganache, and a cinnamon honey pie made with a fragrant spiced honey custard and topped with bite-sized iced cinnamon rolls. There is also a Dutch salted caramel apple pie with an ultra-flaky crust and brown sugar crumble topping, and a cranberry crumble pie on its way in time for Thanksgiving. Pies are available whole or by the slice for collection from the secret location “Pie Hole” in Maida Vale, or from famed Jewish deli Panzer’s in St John’s Wood." - Emma Louise Pudge

The vegetable quiche is just wonderful, well-made and tasty. Delicious cappuccino and scone and I loved that they offered cream and jam with it. The service is warm, conversational and friendly. A really nice chill quiet cafe on a lovely street with homemade delicious food. So glad to have stepped in. Ps. The bathroom is so pretty and I loved the sink 💜

Incredibly sweet and charming people working here. We were welcomed with warmth and friendliness. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, nice for three people having a late breakfast. The food was fresh and delicious , and we left pleased with the visit. I recommend the avocado on bread. The smoothies are also very good, ours were gone within a minute Definitely coming back next time I’m in London!

Lovely food and lovely people. It was such a lovely experience for me and my family that we returned for breakfast a couple of days later!

Food is a 10/10, staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was homey and welcoming. I highly suggest coming here if you’re visiting. Wasn’t too busy before 10am on a Sunday, however became a little more busy afterwards. Gonna miss this place even just as a visitor of London! Pictured: 🧀🥚Cheese and egg ☕️Cappuccino

Butter Bakery has a friendly, family-oriented, welcoming feel—like popping into a local favourite where the staff know your name. It’s calm, never too busy, and serves a decent coffee alongside a solid menu of food options. No charging ports, so best for a relaxed catch-up rather than a working session. A warm little spot worth revisiting.

Has the most lovely time here this afternoon! I’m pregnant and craving pancakes and these were everything I’d hoped for and more! My friend had the savoury option and loved them too. The staff were so kind and patient with us, and just so friendly from the moment we walked in. I’ll absolutely be back!

Food was great, coffee was pretty average, but their ice tea was amazing. The staff was really kind, overall a very nice experience.

Yelp
Quaint breakfast nook. I was in the area looking for quick coffee and pastry. Very tight fit not quite suited ergonomically for quick step in with any line. I tried an iced latte and carrot cake. The Carrot cake different than I have had before and made with maybe a white buttercream frosting? Espresso shots were soapy to me. I do know brew method they use, or water type m. But, I am also realizing England has great tea. I have yet to find great coffee with good extraction. Preference in the end no harm, or foul This review is purely that one latte and a personal preference

Yelp
This is some of the best coffee I've had in 6 months or more. Bear in mind, I'm from Portland, Oregon -- one of the coffee capitals of the world. We're quite proud of our coffee scene, and Butter Bakery could beat out most of the options in Portland. I had an oat milk latte and an americano, plus a few food items. Let's start with the americano. Now, I'll admit, I'm not the most skilled barista. I have some sense of how to pull a shot of espresso, but I'm not brilliant at it. With that as context: I do not exaggerate when I say there was more of that delicious creamy head on the americano than I've managed on some straight shots I've pulled. The espresso roast was subtle and sweet -- I waited too long to write this review, so I couldn't cite precise notes, but this is definitely a roast I could enjoy sipping on and slowly analyzing, while still being very approachable. The americano was perhaps a tiny hair more diluted than I would have liked, but it didn't quite reach "watery" either. I choose to see this as a deliberate choice to further open up the profile of the espresso. The oat latte was expertly foamed, with the right amount of oat milk so as not to overwhelm the espresso. It was on the dry side, almost a cappuccino, which is exactly what I prefer in a latte (if I wanted a cortado, I'd ask for a cortado). I don't know which oat milk they use, but it was sweet and creamy and simple and complemented the espresso beautifully. There's also a food menu that, while not hugely extensive, is packed full of gems. I very much enjoyed the pesto mozzarella tomato panini with extremely its fresh ingredients. It's about the size you'd expect for a cafe panini, and thus a bit more expensive than I'm comfortable with, but I'll chalk that up to the location -- compared with other local options, Butter Bakery Bar and Cafe is absolutely a contender for a budget lunch. Lastly, I'll just mention: I did not try the Mediterranean mains options, so I can't speak to their quality, but seeing things like mezze on a cafe menu is a nice change of pace.

Yelp
Great find...just happened upon. Everything so fresh and tasty. Enjoyed the avocado/feta salad, a great smoothie, egg/bacon/avocado on organic sourdough. Nice ambience and best soft music selections that allow conversations.

Yelp
Owner is so kind! Had a great latte & all goods are baked from scratch. Nice outdoor seating for summertime, would come again :)

Yelp
We found Butter Bakery on our way to Portobello Market and really enjoyed our coffee and breakfast! Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Charming little spot with bright seating, friendly service and a great cappuccino. The pastries were alright but the real highlight was the overall atmosphere of the cafe. Head over after a saturday morning browsing through portobello market to get away from the noise and relax.

Yelp
Did I mention before that I am an absolute bread junkie? And I have found a new favourite dealer ... This end of Westbourne Park Road is an odd location for a local bakery and I only passed it by chance, but it certainly seems worth a special journey. Had a quick chat to the owners who invited me in despite the shop being officially closed for the day (I think they spotted me taking a photo - Yelp alert!). All bread is baked on the premises and is fresh every day, except Sundays. I've just popped another round of wholemeal in the toaster - I'm overdosing for breakfast, it's that good. No idea if it's organic, will check next time. Difficult to guess what the clientele is like, but Butter Bakery is situated right next door to a fancy dog grooming parlour, so I'd expect the cafe to be popular with ladies who lunch while they wait for their pooches, or indeed their dogwalkers. The decor is faux-Germanic, but don't let that put you off!

Yelp
I consider it really healthy to have a very slow, simple meal every now and again. My current favourite is a pinnacle of minimalism - bread with salted butter. Because its so simple it really allows the quality to shine through - if its there to begin with of course. Starting with a croissant I overheard a gentleman asking if they are made on site and was a bit disappointed hearing they are not. Having asked for something of their own produce I was given some od their Persian flatbread. This turned out to be a delicacy and the baker proudly informed me that it is made in a big oven they have on site using a traditional method involving bran meal. The passion of the baker was reflected in the craft quality on both the bran bread and the spelt and rye one I tried afterwards. Forget the imported croissants (which were ok BTW but let me make my point), the artisan stuff its what I love!

Yelp
Delicious! Try the Crushed Avocado. They also have banana bread and lemon drizzle which are both superb. Coffee was very good as well. Great spot for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
Flakey croissant and a quiet place away from the hordes of tourists near Notting Hill market. I found it on accident and glad I tried it.

Yelp
Fantastic entrepreneur meetup yesterday at The Butter Bakery where they made us a gorgeous and delectable cheese platter with warm Persian bread. Y.U.M. Great spot for food and/or coffee. Everything created with love!

Yelp
Cute little quaint cafe for some fresh pastries and hot/cold beverages. My apartment was right above in the winter, so it was quite convenient. Friendly service and fresh pastries - what else can I say?
