Butter Churn

Definitely one of my favorite buffet! It’s just awesome. All-you-can-eat with reasonable price. Foods are fantastic, way better than some of overpriced restaurants in big texas cities (especially I love their briskets and fried chicken). The downsides are that it’s a bit distant from where I’m from and the cashier was very unmotivated, but if anybody asks me to recommend a good place to stop and have a good meal before getting into Corpus Christi, then this is the one. Be advised, I’m not the only one favoring this place so expect some waiting unless you’re going for an open-run.

I gave a glowing review of the Butter Churn a while back. I am usually not a fan of buffets but this place does everything well. There is a nice salad bar with numerous selections including soups, and a few desserts. Everything on it and the hot bar is kept fresh and very tidy. The changing menu offers numerous entrees that should suite just about anyone and selection of tasty vegetables. Also there are a couple of different rolls and cornbread. The service is very attentive and will check up on you often to make sure your drink is refilled and always happy to bring you a particular condiment or if you forgot to pick up something while filling your plate. I'm giving this review to add pics of what I hope is an easily read menu and current prices. In these days where some sit down restaurants charge the same or more for a burger and fries as the buffet here, I think the prices are very reasonable where you can enjoy some healthy and home-style options.

Hubby and I went there Sunday at 11:15 for Mother's day lunch. It was SO crowded already, inside and out! We only waited 10 minutes and we were texted that our seats were available. The food was AWESOME! The service was AWESOME! Those employees were busy, busy, busy all of the time. No lolly-gagging and looking at their cell phones like some other restaurants! They were working their butts off...but were all still smiling and several took the time to ask if we needed anything, refill our drinks, how were we enjoying our food, etc. And speaking of food: the brisket was cooked to perfection! Tender, juicy and tasty. The turkey was delicious thick slices of white and dark meat, for your choosing. Then the ham, the fried chicken, green bean casserole, corn, broccoli, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy choices and more...were all fabulous. And I mean it. No run of the mill tastes here. Each item was given the preparation it needed to be delicious on its own. The line at the buffet tables were long, but kept moving very well. With the attentive staff refilling all the trays of food as needed. As mentioned before, they were busy and hard working to keep those tables filled. We saw the huge salad tables filled to the brim with freshness, but were too full to even take anything (a rarity for us to pass up a great salad bar). But we did save room for their famous peach cobbler! It didn't disappoint us either. This restaurant knows what it is doing. The food was the star, and the employees and their teamwork was great, right along with any 5 star restaurant. Great job, management! What a delightful Mother's Day treat we had. Thank you! 💥💥💥💥💥

7/8/25 Honestly, I have been to many buffets around Texas, this is the best and I do mean the BEST buffet I have ever had!! I always judge a place but the Mac n Cheese and this one was the best one so far.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The buffet was loaded with comfort food favorites—everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy, the mashed potatoes were creamy and seasoned just right, and the homemade desserts were the perfect finishing touch (don’t miss the cobbler!). It’s the kind of place that brings back memories of Sunday dinners with family. If you’re ever in the area and craving a hearty, down-home meal, The Butter Churn is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Oh my goodness Butter Churn restaurant is absolutely DELICIOUS. Good old southern home cooking and I mean cooking. There is no just opening a can and heating it up. Food is delicious, waitress visited our table several times checking on us. There is plenty of seating. Restaurant is decorated very nice and it is very clean. We will definitely visit again.

Our first time and we absolutely loved everything about this place. The staff are super friendly and the food all feels so homemade. Highly recommend this place; we will be back for sure!

Service! Natasha is an amazing individual. Treats everyone with warmth. Always welcoming, like a warm hug from a family member. Food! They have fried gizzard! What more can I say!! LoL

Such a fun, lively restaurant with good food and friendly service. The inside is decorated like a western town. There's several stations to get buffet items such as bbq, veggies, salad, dessert, and sides. The food tastes fresh and good and the staff seems to be checking and refilling it all the time. It's also a very busy place - we went on a weekend for lunch! The prices was super reasonable. They also have hilarious Christian tshirts for sale. Such a fun place that I know I'll visit again.

First plate was lasagna (4) green beans (4) and baked potato slices (5) Second plate was steak (4) mashed potatoes (3.8) carrots (3.5) Mac and cheese (3) for dessert got banana pudding with wafers (4) tapioca pudding (3) ambrosia salad (3.5) atmosphere was laid back everyone seemed happy and our server Natashia was amazing! Extremely friendly!

Why did it take us so long to visit Butter Churn? That's what we're asking now! The variety of selections is wonderful. The dishes were seasoned perfectly. The service was authentic and family focused. The prices are INCREDIBLE. We are fans now and forever.

We typically stay away from buffets but the Butter Churn is fantastic! Clean, GREAT service. They were BUSY for a Sunday but we got seated right away. Our waitress did not let our tea glasses even think about being close to empty! She was fantastic! We tasted a little bit of everything and nothing disappointed us! I think my favorite was the choice of cobbler which we topped with ice cream! Can't wait to return!

Came here again recently since we were in the area. It is SO easy to overeat. And everything is so delish. Definitely easy for vegetarians to get their fill. My stomach felt like it wanted to rip open when I was done. The waitresses are very kind. Adequate seating. Very unsuspecting from the outside, but super cute on the inside. Love visiting whenever I'm nearby :)

If you are really hungry and want a big variety, this is a great place to go. For a buffet, they have very tasty food that is cooked with care and not just trying to push out the food to keep the trays full. Their fried and baked chicken is very good for the location. Check their website for operating hours and menu items. They will typically have fried and baked options, along with a full salad and dessert bar. One could make a meal of just the salad bar, if you are into greens. Finally, their sweet tea is perfect, not overly sweet. Lunch time gets pretty crowded, but they have plenty of space. They also have a separate room for private parties.

I loved this place. I've been once before many many years ago but I quickly realized why I had a good experience before. The servers are really friendly, I dig the cowboy saloon atmosphere, and the food was great and constantly being refilled. Considering a good handful of buffet places out there are just borderline average at best, I'd highly suggest coming here because it's so much better than the rest.

Oh, we love the butter churn! Even my kids enjoyed it there's something for everyone, the fried chicken is delicious.

The Survice Was Great and The Buffet Was Wounderful When They Had The Chicken Fried Steak and Mashed Potato And The Sweet Tea Was Very Tastety

Came in for Thanksgiving dinner and while there was a long and I mean long, we are talking hour and a half wait it was so worth it. Food was in huge supply, turkey and dressing and all the fixings were amazing and even with all the people it was handled smoothly and efficiently. And as always the servers and wait staff at this place are the nicest people ever. We will return to Butter Churn every time we visit the coast.

While vacationing in Port Aransas, we found this place and stopped in for lunch. It is, basically, an all-you-can-eat Cracker Barrel! There is a lot of seating. Decor is old country store kitsch on the walls. It was clean. Waitstaff were constantly busy seating people, bringing drinks, whisking away dirty dishes. There was a wide variety of salads and entrees to choose for your meal. The lunch price with drink was around $13.

Excellent food and service. Never disappointing. A must try experience. Go especially on a Sunday. Good home cooked meal and feels like good clean living

We have no other buffets around. Their food is always so tasty. Restaurant is always clean and service excellent.

What a hidden gem! The food, the people, everything is wonderful. Our family of 5 enjoyed a Saturday lunch with fried chicken, Mac n cheese, burritos and peach cobbler. Their cups are served into a to-go cup from the beginning and their soda is strong and not watered down. All of the employees are happy and your plates are taken very quickly by your smiling wait staff.

The food was delicious! Everything was fresh. I have the broiled chicken. Seasoning was on the spot!

We walked in and amidst a flurry of patrons everywhere, we were instantly greeted by the hostess. They took us to our table and explained how it was a buffet. She pointed out where the hot food was, the salad bar section and desserts. Then she took our drink order and left it for our waiter/waitress. It was well ran. Okay, enough about the great service. The food!!! The streak was great!!! It's medium, but you can get it cooked more. The fried chicken was great and so were all the sides. My salad from the salad bar was very good. While eating, my wife and daughters were amused with the decorations and how it looked like we were sitting in the middle of a town. It was a great environment. We can't wait to come back.

Love love love this place! One of the first restaurants I've been to here in Texas ! The fish during lunch is perfect and the steak is also very good! 10/10 recommend!

Awesome place to eat for country home cookin'! We tried it last year, and returned this year again. Still great food, clean, and nice friendly staff. Highly recommend

It's a good all you can eat buffet. All of the wait staff are very attentive. Most of the food is fresh and cooked in the restaurant. They always have something for the kids as well. Nuggets, mac n cheese, pizza... The salad bar is getting bigger and better every time we go. A large variety of dressing and toppings to choose from. I also just learned that you can eat just the salad and soup and it's much more affordable then the full all you can eat buffet. But my favorite thing here is the chicken fried steak smothered in a cream style gravy. Mmmmm...You just can't go wrong. Bon appétit !!

What a great place to bring your family to dinner as they have something for everybody! For an all you can eat restaurant the quality is so much better, definitely like homemade! So many choices of proteins including fish and chicken fried steak! If you like fried okra, they have the best I've ever had! The desserts were also really good as well!

The buffet was excellent. Every item I ate was delicious.. Great salad bar. Service was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint is if I came here and ate very often I would gain a lot of weight.

Happiness is Homemade with love and butter. Large variety of meats, vegetables, salads and desserts! Sunday brunch is $14 !

Large variety of comfort food In buffet. My husband loves the fried chicken and liver. The salad bar has a tasty variety and plenty of it! Food is fresh and good. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. It's always clean and it has an eclectic decor which is interesting to look at.

We love going to Butter Churn. The food is good down home cooking. The variety is very good, with the items on the hot bar different each day. We like to go around 3:30, as they change from lunch prices to dinner prices at 4:00. I like their mashed potatoes and gravy, fried fish, and the bread pudding. The lunch cost works out to be $12.50 each, and that is without a drink. With a drink it works out to $15 each. We just order water because if you want to take your drink with you, they charge $.89 for a Styrofoam to go cup. I have never been where they charge for a cup. The servers are very nice and attentive. We witnessed the shift change where the staff got into a big prayer circle. I thought that was very nice. They have Christian music playing and the dining room huge.

Cashier was very rude & even overcharged us!! Food was very good & waitress was very nice but cashier was extremely rude!!

Grandma's cooking like you remember but you get to choose what and how much you get per serving. No fighting over who gets the largest piece of fried chicken or the biggest scoop of mashed potatoes. No need to remember which direction to pass the food around the table hoping some is left when it gets back to you. Come hungry and waddle out satisfied. I wouldn't recommend kissing the cook, it's not your grandma but they deserve r more than a few for the fantastic food! Thanks so much for your southern hospitality and cooking. Don't sleep on the desserts- some of the best apple cobbler and banana pudding I've ever had. Family-friendly atmosphere. Super affordable price for all-you-can eat (we payed $11.50) Beef stroganoff was top-tier. Fried chicken was hot and fresh, extremely crispy and juicy. Just honest southern home-style cooking.

Went to Butter Churn this past weekend for lunch. Wow! This place is beautiful and inviting. The staff is attentive and truly cares about food presentation. Our tea was never empty. Now on to the food....my husband had his heart set on the fried chicken. It did not disappoint...4pcs later, he was stuffed plus the amazing sides. I ventured off and tried a little bit of everything....the fried pork chop, macaroni and cheese, cheese enchilada (my fave), Spanish rice, spaghetti, the best fried okra I've ever eaten, and another cheese enchilada. $50 for 3 of us...we were so full, we didn't have to worry about dinner/supper! Butter Churn has something special going on!!!! Open one in our location 2 hours away! You'd be busy all the time!!!! Guaranteed!

Wife and I finally returned to the Butter Churn Aransas Pass. They have some of the best food I've had. The brisket was so good I bought some to take home. I was so full I didn't have room for the banana pudding but it sure was tempting.

There is a huge amount of food to choose from and the best salad bar around! The staff is friendly and there is room enough for everyone

Service was great! Waitress picked up plates as soon as we needed. She was more attentive than most non-buffet restaurants. Food was ok but not as great as I'd heard. Grandkids ate well though and loved the rolls. Lots of choices.

Love love love Butter Churn! It is essentially a buffet style restaurant with self-serve American favorites -- think fried catfish, chicken friend steak, fried chicken, full-tilt salad bar, & numerous sides & dessert choices from which to choose. For Sunday lunch it can be very difficult to find parking & get in, so plan accordingly. It's also kinda pricey for a buffet, but you can always choose another place if it's more than you want to pay.

The food was delicious and the service was amazing and I loved the ice I got a cup to go . Has plenty of sitting and looks nice in the inside. I wish I would have taken a picture, next time I go I will take one.

Awesome as always. Haven't been in a while. But man was everything great. Best fried chicken ever. The hominy with cheese was amazing!!!
