An all-you-eat spot usually is not one that bodes well. Butterchurn is by far the exception. Large dining room, well-stocked salad bar. The fried chicken was excellent- and good veggies choices. The sample of gumbo was flavorful and good. Sugat-free puddings as a dessert option in what can be a desert for the diabetic amongst us. The staff clearing plates and refilling beverages were pleasant and engaging - please tip them well - they earn it.

Went over to Port Aransas and was coming back into the mainland and needed a place to eat. Stopped by here based on Google reviews and it was out of this world. All of the food was fresh and very tasty. I appreciate that we saw employees sitting down to have a hot meal, out on the main dining room floor. This helped reinforced the "family values" Every employee that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Apple and peach cobbler fantastic. Banana pudding perfect. Will be back soon

Definitely one of my favorite buffet! It’s just awesome. All-you-can-eat with reasonable price. Foods are fantastic, way better than some of overpriced restaurants in big texas cities (especially I love their briskets and fried chicken). The downsides are that it’s a bit distant from where I’m from and the cashier was very unmotivated, but if anybody asks me to recommend a good place to stop and have a good meal before getting into Corpus Christi, then this is the one. Be advised, I’m not the only one favoring this place so expect some waiting unless you’re going for an open-run.

Well...it is a buffet with lots of steam trays. Food is acceptable. Not gonna win any Michelin star!! The clientele are mostly refinery, chemical plant and craft workers... so quantity is important. The flatware is deadly...sharp edges and I'm not talking about the food side. The buffer with tea is under 20. A value today.

I was my first time there ,and what a great experience, they have the friendliest staff of any restaurant i have been to in a long time. Natasha took care of us at the table never leaving an empty plate or having to ask for refills on drinks. Did not see any staff without smiles on their faces.

What a delightful experience. The food was great; huge selection. Everything was served at the proper temperature. There was a lot of spaces to sit; we had a party of 26, and all sat in the same area on long tables. The atmosphere was uplifting and positive; service was excellent. The music playing was wonderful. Will definitely come back.

The food at this place is likely the worst I have ever had. I am 71, so I have had a few meals. If you enjoy vegetables that taste like they are straight out of the can and tasteless food service type gravy, you WILL enjoy dining here. The salad bar is decent, but not outstanding. The fried okra was good. The cobblers were gummy and below par. Drinks are served in styrofoam. I am a good cook, so when reading this, understand that I deplore spending money for food that is worse than school cafeteria fare. The wait, hostess and checkout staff were friendly, welcoming and did a great job. I really had hoped for a good experience, but sadly can't recommend.

2nd time here and 2nd time it's a hit! The atmosphere is welcoming and food is like coming home to moms where she whips up all your favorites! Especially my first plate everything was absolutely delicious! The steak was seasoned perfectly the mac and cheese wasn't overly cheesy (my preference) but still tasted delicious the mashed potatoes and gravy was spot on and the green beans were salted I think but amazing! 5 out of 5! 2nd plate was chicken looked dry but tasted good 4 of 5 rice was a surprise 4 of 5 and beans were perfect 5 of 5! I think waiter was Dusten and he was polite and kept the sweet tea filled no complaints! We stayed in corpus but worth the drive!

Great service definitely going back!! The food is magnificent and the desert is delicious! And our servers was so sweet she made our day, place was busy but they still sat us down as soon as we came in!

Friendly servers and an endless array of Texas favorite foods. There's literally something for everyone. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the fluffiest taters you'll ever eat. The outstanding value for lunch ($12.50 per adult including drink) is unheard of these days, especially for the quality.

Such a fun, lively restaurant with good food and friendly service. The inside is decorated like a western town. There's several stations to get buffet items such as bbq, veggies, salad, dessert, and sides. The food tastes fresh and good and the staff seems to be checking and refilling it all the time. It's also a very busy place - we went on a weekend for lunch! The prices was super reasonable. They also have hilarious Christian tshirts for sale. Such a fun place that I know I'll visit again.

Why did it take us so long to visit Butter Churn? That's what we're asking now! The variety of selections is wonderful. The dishes were seasoned perfectly. The service was authentic and family focused. The prices are INCREDIBLE. We are fans now and forever.

We typically stay away from buffets but the Butter Churn is fantastic! Clean, GREAT service. They were BUSY for a Sunday but we got seated right away. Our waitress did not let our tea glasses even think about being close to empty! She was fantastic! We tasted a little bit of everything and nothing disappointed us! I think my favorite was the choice of cobbler which we topped with ice cream! Can't wait to return!

Came here again recently since we were in the area. It is SO easy to overeat. And everything is so delish. Definitely easy for vegetarians to get their fill. My stomach felt like it wanted to rip open when I was done. The waitresses are very kind. Adequate seating. Very unsuspecting from the outside, but super cute on the inside. Love visiting whenever I'm nearby :)

I made my last trip to Butter Churn today. What happened to this place? They seem to have put the whole box of salt in the vegetable soup. No cheese in the Mac and Cheese. The "Salisbury steaks" were perfectly round tiny circles that definitely came out of the frozen food section, pretty near the sign that say's homemade is better? The fried chicken should have been called dried chicken. I used to LOVE this place but the quality of food never returned after COVID. I didn't eat all day in anticipation of going to Butter Churn after my appointment. If you're hungry for a buffet, go to Golden Corral or a Chinese buffet. $43 for two people, and they have the nerve to ask for a tip. Remember in the old days if your service was bad you left a penny? The service was fine, the food sucked, so I gave them two cents. Never, ever, again.

If you are really hungry and want a big variety, this is a great place to go. For a buffet, they have very tasty food that is cooked with care and not just trying to push out the food to keep the trays full. Their fried and baked chicken is very good for the location. Check their website for operating hours and menu items. They will typically have fried and baked options, along with a full salad and dessert bar. One could make a meal of just the salad bar, if you are into greens. Finally, their sweet tea is perfect, not overly sweet. Lunch time gets pretty crowded, but they have plenty of space. They also have a separate room for private parties.

I loved this place. I've been once before many many years ago but I quickly realized why I had a good experience before. The servers are really friendly, I dig the cowboy saloon atmosphere, and the food was great and constantly being refilled. Considering a good handful of buffet places out there are just borderline average at best, I'd highly suggest coming here because it's so much better than the rest.

Came in for Thanksgiving dinner and while there was a long and I mean long, we are talking hour and a half wait it was so worth it. Food was in huge supply, turkey and dressing and all the fixings were amazing and even with all the people it was handled smoothly and efficiently. And as always the servers and wait staff at this place are the nicest people ever. We will return to Butter Churn every time we visit the coast.

Oh, we love the butter churn! Even my kids enjoyed it there's something for everyone, the fried chicken is delicious.

While vacationing in Port Aransas, we found this place and stopped in for lunch. It is, basically, an all-you-can-eat Cracker Barrel! There is a lot of seating. Decor is old country store kitsch on the walls. It was clean. Waitstaff were constantly busy seating people, bringing drinks, whisking away dirty dishes. There was a wide variety of salads and entrees to choose for your meal. The lunch price with drink was around $13.

What a hidden gem! The food, the people, everything is wonderful. Our family of 5 enjoyed a Saturday lunch with fried chicken, Mac n cheese, burritos and peach cobbler. Their cups are served into a to-go cup from the beginning and their soda is strong and not watered down. All of the employees are happy and your plates are taken very quickly by your smiling wait staff.

We walked in and amidst a flurry of patrons everywhere, we were instantly greeted by the hostess. They took us to our table and explained how it was a buffet. She pointed out where the hot food was, the salad bar section and desserts. Then she took our drink order and left it for our waiter/waitress. It was well ran. Okay, enough about the great service. The food!!! The streak was great!!! It's medium, but you can get it cooked more. The fried chicken was great and so were all the sides. My salad from the salad bar was very good. While eating, my wife and daughters were amused with the decorations and how it looked like we were sitting in the middle of a town. It was a great environment. We can't wait to come back.

We have no other buffets around. Their food is always so tasty. Restaurant is always clean and service excellent.

It's a good all you can eat buffet. All of the wait staff are very attentive. Most of the food is fresh and cooked in the restaurant. They always have something for the kids as well. Nuggets, mac n cheese, pizza... The salad bar is getting bigger and better every time we go. A large variety of dressing and toppings to choose from. I also just learned that you can eat just the salad and soup and it's much more affordable then the full all you can eat buffet. But my favorite thing here is the chicken fried steak smothered in a cream style gravy. Mmmmm...You just can't go wrong. Bon appétit !!

What a great place to bring your family to dinner as they have something for everybody! For an all you can eat restaurant the quality is so much better, definitely like homemade! So many choices of proteins including fish and chicken fried steak! If you like fried okra, they have the best I've ever had! The desserts were also really good as well!

The buffet was excellent. Every item I ate was delicious.. Great salad bar. Service was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint is if I came here and ate very often I would gain a lot of weight.

Great value. Great selection. Great food. Great service. You have to be a pretty miserable human to find fault in this place.

We love going to Butter Churn. The food is good down home cooking. The variety is very good, with the items on the hot bar different each day. We like to go around 3:30, as they change from lunch prices to dinner prices at 4:00. I like their mashed potatoes and gravy, fried fish, and the bread pudding. The lunch cost works out to be $12.50 each, and that is without a drink. With a drink it works out to $15 each. We just order water because if you want to take your drink with you, they charge $.89 for a Styrofoam to go cup. I have never been where they charge for a cup. The servers are very nice and attentive. We witnessed the shift change where the staff got into a big prayer circle. I thought that was very nice. They have Christian music playing and the dining room huge.
