While the quality of food is great, the customer service is not. I won't be coming here anymore for a number of reasons.
1. I ordered a pricey cake, and when it was given to me, it was given in a box that did not shut. I let the staff member know I was traveling with the cake, but they said they did not have a box that secured. I had to drive 1.5 hours with a cake that was exposed. For something so pretty and expensive, I expect more.
2. The last week of August, we ordered 18 donuts for the team. When I picked them up, I was only given one box and was assured that all donuts were in that box. Surprise - they were not. We were missing half of our donuts. We had pre-paid for this order the day prior, so I called to ask them about the other half of the donuts. The employee told me their staff was new, and this was a training opportunity, which was fine. We were provided a $15.00 gift card that we could pickup next time we went in-store.
3. One week later (today), I go to Butter Cream to place another order of 18 donuts - and I intend to use the gift card that is waiting for me in store to cover half of the order. They just got a new register system, so they were only taking cash. I did not have enough cash to cover my order, because I intended to use the gift card towards it. I was told they would not take the gift card today. I was short $5.00 in cash, the the staff told me that my only option was to remove $5.00 worth of donuts from my order.
I understand that their new system would not take gift cards, but in this case, the right thing to do would have been to work around the system and not charge me for $15.00 (gift card balance) worth of donuts on today's order and take the gift card from me. The gift card was provided because of a mistake they made in the first place, and now they have inconvenienced me once again. I had to take the offer of a woman in line's $5.00 to avoid having to revise my order.
The staff member helping me had the power to work around the system, but refused to do so. Very disappointing since I loved this place and was willing to overlook the other mishaps. Her attitude and unwillingness to go above and beyond has put a damper on Butter Cream for me, and because of today's experience, myself and my company will no longer be coming here.
