New Bay Area Restaurants: Bandit, Maker of San Francisco’s Best Breakfast Sandwiches, Opens Dogpatch Restaurant | Eater SF

"Having earned a sweet reputation at its original Pinole location since 2021, the bakery has opened a second Emeryville shop in a former Subway at 65th and Hollis streets, bringing its confections to a new neighborhood." - Lauren Saria

If you’re a fan of fresh-baked cookies that taste like they came straight from a cozy home kitchen, this cookie spot is a dream come true. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm, buttery aroma of cookies baking in the oven. The menu offers a great variety—from timeless classics like chocolate chip and sugar cookie to more inventive flavors like chocolate pecan and sprinkle. Each cookie is perfectly baked with a crispy edge and a soft, chewy center. The quality of ingredients shines through—rich chocolate, real butter, and generous mix-ins in every bite. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend a flavor if you can’t decide (which, trust me, you won’t be able to!). Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack, ordering a gift box, or picking up a dozen for a party, this place makes it easy and enjoyable.

Their cookies are deliciously really good. I must say better than Crumbl cookies ☺️ I need to make an update with my review. I came back for the 2nd time (06/17/25) I got 5 cookies and they’re not as good as the first time when I had them. Cookies are not fully baked and they break into pieces

Bakery was walking distance from work so I went to check it out. Cookies were fresh and delicious. I will be back for more.

I'll be honest- I'm not much of a "sweets" girl all the time but occasionally I don't mind a little treat. And I'm so glad that I was able to experience Butter Pecan! Ironically, I remember the owner in a commercial about a cookie shop when they first opened but I never checked it out. Let me tell you- these are some of the best cookies I've tasted. I went on Friday around 1 pm- there was some street parking across from the store (pay n' park) and there's also a public parking garage right next to it. It's conveniently located on the corner and easy to find. The interior is small however there is some seating outside for you to enjoy on a nice day. When you walk in, you can view the cookies clearly in the display case. There were a few people there when I walked in. I'd like to give a big shout out to Liz (behind the counter) for walking me through her personal favorites and some of the best sellers. According to her, the brown butter pecan is the top seller and anything with dark chocolate or bananas come in a close second. For my five- I chose (2) brown butter pecans, banana pudding, strawberry shortcake and oatmeal raisin pecan for my Mom. I rushed back to my car to try them out but I resisted until I got home because I was going to do a video review. The cookies didn't stand a chance- LOL. The cookies were very fresh (baked that morning) and even though they weren't that "right out of the oven warm and gooey soft"- they were still soft in the middle with a little crunch that I enjoy. My favorites in order: BROWN BUTTER PECAN- You can definitely taste the love (and the butter) in these and it had a nice amount of pecans for me. They definitely taste like someone's Grandma made them. BANANA PUDDING- Oh my..... I could taste the vanilla pudding flavor and as soon as I got to the middle- I bit into a nice combination of fresh banana and pudding flavor. It was divine! STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE- TBH, I didn't get much of a cheesecake flavor but I did get a lot of FRESH strawberries and a buttery goodness to it. Overall, I will definitely be back to try other flavors. The size of the cookies are big (not skimpy)- the customer service was great, price point is reasonable and the plus was everyone gets a coupon for a free cookie on their next visit no matter which location you try. If you sign up for a free rewards membership- you can collect points towards freebies. We love it!

I heard about this bakery from a few people and could not wait to taste the treats! They did not disappoint! Moist with just the right crunch on the edges. The quality of the products used comes through. These cookies are not like those cookies! These cookies taste like your Grandmother made them just for you! Really something special two thumbs up for sure!

These cookies taste like they’re straight out of grandma’s house. They are crispy and chewy and quite frankly…divine. They have successfully transformed southern and down home classics like banana pudding and butter pecan pie, and effortlessly put those flavors into a cookie. If you want doughy, cakey nonsense, go to crumbl. If you want a taste of your childhood, go to butter pecan bake shop!

Half of my cookies were hot and fresh, but extremely doughy, meaning NOT cooked all the way. The other half were cold like they'd been sitting out all day. Staff was polite, but extremely unorganized, confused, and flustered which added to the terrible experience. This place was a complete disappointment, a waste of my time, and a waste of my hard earned money.

These cookies are so Yummy! The are pricy, but they are worth it. You want find a better cookie. I can name some places and they definitely win over the others. Try them you will not be disappointed.
