New Bay Area Restaurants: Bandit, Maker of San Francisco’s Best Breakfast Sandwiches, Opens Dogpatch Restaurant | Eater SF

"Having earned a sweet reputation at its original Pinole location since 2021, the bakery has opened a second Emeryville shop in a former Subway at 65th and Hollis streets, bringing its confections to a new neighborhood." - Lauren Saria

If you’re a fan of fresh-baked cookies that taste like they came straight from a cozy home kitchen, this cookie spot is a dream come true. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm, buttery aroma of cookies baking in the oven. The menu offers a great variety—from timeless classics like chocolate chip and sugar cookie to more inventive flavors like chocolate pecan and sprinkle. Each cookie is perfectly baked with a crispy edge and a soft, chewy center. The quality of ingredients shines through—rich chocolate, real butter, and generous mix-ins in every bite. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend a flavor if you can’t decide (which, trust me, you won’t be able to!). Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack, ordering a gift box, or picking up a dozen for a party, this place makes it easy and enjoyable.

Bakery was walking distance from work so I went to check it out. Cookies were fresh and delicious. I will be back for more.

Google
Their cookies are deliciously really good. I must say better than Crumbl cookies ☺️ I need to make an update with my review. I came back for the 2nd time (06/17/25) I got 5 cookies and they’re not as good as the first time when I had them. Cookies are not fully baked and they break into pieces

I was introduced to Butter Pecan Cookie Shop by my sister and mom a few months ago, and it’s honestly become a sweet treat of mine. I live within walking distance to the Emeryville location, and I literally have to stop myself from getting a cookie whenever I want to. My absolute favorite flavor that I’ve had so far has been the peach cobbler cookie! The signature butter pecan cookie is always delicious as well. Staff members are always extremely friendly, cookies are always fresh, the store is always clean, and there are always a variety of options to pick from. From the staple cookies to the seasonal items, you can’t go wrong! Treat yourself – you deserve it.

Google
I'll be honest- I'm not much of a "sweets" girl all the time but occasionally I don't mind a little treat. And I'm so glad that I was able to experience Butter Pecan! Ironically, I remember the owner in a commercial about a cookie shop when they first opened but I never checked it out. Let me tell you- these are some of the best cookies I've tasted. I went on Friday around 1 pm- there was some street parking across from the store (pay n' park) and there's also a public parking garage right next to it. It's conveniently located on the corner and easy to find. The interior is small however there is some seating outside for you to enjoy on a nice day. When you walk in, you can view the cookies clearly in the display case. There were a few people there when I walked in. I'd like to give a big shout out to Liz (behind the counter) for walking me through her personal favorites and some of the best sellers. According to her, the brown butter pecan is the top seller and anything with dark chocolate or bananas come in a close second. For my five- I chose (2) brown butter pecans, banana pudding, strawberry shortcake and oatmeal raisin pecan for my Mom. I rushed back to my car to try them out but I resisted until I got home because I was going to do a video review. The cookies didn't stand a chance- LOL. The cookies were very fresh (baked that morning) and even though they weren't that "right out of the oven warm and gooey soft"- they were still soft in the middle with a little crunch that I enjoy. My favorites in order: BROWN BUTTER PECAN- You can definitely taste the love (and the butter) in these and it had a nice amount of pecans for me. They definitely taste like someone's Grandma made them. BANANA PUDDING- Oh my..... I could taste the vanilla pudding flavor and as soon as I got to the middle- I bit into a nice combination of fresh banana and pudding flavor. It was divine! STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE- TBH, I didn't get much of a cheesecake flavor but I did get a lot of FRESH strawberries and a buttery goodness to it. Overall, I will definitely be back to try other flavors. The size of the cookies are big (not skimpy)- the customer service was great, price point is reasonable and the plus was everyone gets a coupon for a free cookie on their next visit no matter which location you try. If you sign up for a free rewards membership- you can collect points towards freebies. We love it!

Google
Half of my cookies were hot and fresh, but extremely doughy, meaning NOT cooked all the way. The other half were cold like they'd been sitting out all day. Staff was polite, but extremely unorganized, confused, and flustered which added to the terrible experience. This place was a complete disappointment, a waste of my time, and a waste of my hard earned money.

Google
Yes these are the best cookies ever! The Teacake,Butter Pecan,Banana pudding and Oreo Cookie remix are all the flavors I’ve tried so far and they all are yummy! This company also ships these wonderful cookies across the United States also. The staff is nice and friendly and the location is very clean and pleasant. I hope they come out with a Sugarfree cookie for the ones who can’t have sugar. Also it’s free indoor garage parking Nextdoor so you don’t have to hunt for a parking space.

Google
Very annoyed by my visit to the Emeryville location today. I came in asking if I could get points/credits added to my account for an order I completed on Amazon. The young lady at the register was confused about what I was asking and then asked her shift lead. The shift lead looked at me and said “I remember you you were in here asking for credit last time and you can leave”. I I asked her what she was talking about and went ahead and clarified what my question was. And also specified the difference between the question as today and the question asked months ago, which never was resolved, As I never received credits for the undercooked cookies I received. Even though I never got any free cookies, I still shopped here, Not even asking about the cookies anymore. Mind you this was many months ago. So today in me, asking for points to be added for online order I was berated and made to feel like I was begging for free cookies and then Told to leave the store with a pointing finger. My patience had had enough and yes, I gave her a verbal lashing right back. Clearly, these young adults are not being trained on how to engage customers properly. Your shift lead holster’s no authority over your customers, especially when I was not initially being disrespectful or unruly. Being told to leave your establishment with someone finger pointing towards the door, not only discriminatory, but very degrading. I see why this place has low traffic…. It’s because of the staff you decide to hire that treats your customers that look like you, the owner, a Black man In such terrible ways. Then when I called the Pinole store to try and reach a manager, I told the young lady the story instead of her, putting it on hold she sat the phone down and begin laughing with another coworker about what I told her on the phone and then came back to the phone as if they were not just laughing at my story and said they had no way of reaching the owner. So once again, I let them know how unprofessional they were so it seems there’s a problem at both of your stores. Because this is a Black owned establishment, I will not take this to social media… But I’m really hoping that this could be resolved.

Yelp
Stopped in here for cookies when we're out running errands. These cookies are perfection! The edges are crispy and the center of the cookies are moist and soft. We ordered 5 cookies. 2-brown butter pecan, 2-banana pudding 1-peanut butter. The shop is clean and inviting. We were pleased with our order and would definitely return again!

Yelp
OMG!!!! Finally got a chance to hook up with some ButterPecan!!!! Let me tell you... melt in your mouth takes on an entirely new meaning!!! Butter Pecan is their specialty... the flaky "soft crunch" is PURE HEAVEN... often more than not cookies are either too crisp, or much too soft. Soft crunch is the Butter Pecan Difference. Swirling "melt in your mouth," soft crunch, with the perfect mix of cinnamon, sugar, Pecan perfection! And the price of admission is $3.95 (per cookie, not bite). Around 9 flavors, which rotate, I understand. Each flavor like Cookies and Cream, Birthday Cake, Dark Chocolate, and so many others! 10/10....

Yelp
The Brunch cookies. Those were really good. Mimosa and the stuffed French toast were there best cookies ever fr! I hope to see them come back another time. I'd even like to see the orange cookie base from the mimosa cookie replace the tea cookie. No shade to the tea cookie it's cool too. This is my second review. Just because I want to put it out in the universe that maybe these cookies come back around.

Yelp
My wife was in the area and picked up some cookies from Butter Pecan Bakeshop. Small bakery that makes simple old fashioned cookies, new flavors, and seasonal flavors. * Brown Butter Pecan (4/5) - their signature cookie. Ok, I can see why. Crisp exterior with a chewy soft buttery middle. Yum! *Banana Pudding Cookie (4/5) - this flavor really intrigued me...and it met my expectations. One bite and you could taste the banana pudding with nilla wafers! The center was soft and chewy. My kind of cookie. I'd get this again. Good thing I don't live that close, otherwise, I'd get one every day! LOL. Support your local business.

Yelp
When I presented my daughter a half dozen cookies from Butter Pecan for her 21st birthday, I knew she would be happy but I think she was more excited about the cookies than her necklace or other gifts. These cookies are seriously a special treat. There are the regular flavors and seasonal or special flavors. I have some favorites but you can't go wrong. The shop is clean and staff have always been patient and friendly.
google avatar

Marisol E.

Yelp
These cookies are amazing!! Out of the ordinary flavors, for a soft and chewy cookies is always good. I ordered the half a dozen, because I wanted to try different flavors. My go to is always the chocolate chip, but this one was chocolate chip sea salt. It was really good, soft and chewy and just the right amount go crunch on the outside. Brought them home, to share with the family and they were a hit.

Yelp
Stopped by Butter Pecan Bakery in Emeryville, and couldn't resist picking up a dozen cookies for my daughter, nieces and nephews. There was a large variety to choose from and it was hard to decide so we got at least one of each. The apple pie cookie actually had apple pie filling, crust, and apple pie crumbles in it. Delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Cookies were soo good! They were not too sweet just right and I am a picky cookie eater.

Yelp
My favorite part of my visit was how nice and sweet the worker behind the counter was. I was alone and had never been before, so she was kind enough to let me take my time, explain any flavors, etc. It's no surprise out of all the cookies that the butter pecan flavor was the best one I tried out of 6. It's what they're named after and for great reason. Even so, I preferred the chocolate chip equally because I could taste less sugar. The banana flavor was also a fun addition that was in our top 3. Overall the cookies were good, but the amount of sugar was overwhelming. I know cookies aren't a health food, but I'm someone with an absolutely massive sweet tooth and I still couldn't do it. It was so much it ended up taking away from the flavor instead of adding to it.

Yelp
Tried Butter Pecan Cookies for the first time and it definitely won't be my last! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. The vibe was warm, the place was spotless, and the customer service was top tier. You can tell they care about both the product and the experience. We came in pretty close to closing but luckily we still got to try the ones we really wanted. I had the Cookies & Cream and OMG! Unreal! Buttery, rich, the perfect amount of crunch on the edges with that soft, melt-in-your-mouth center. Just wow. We were second in line when we arrived, and by the time we got to the front, there was a whole line behind us! Clearly the word is out, and I can see why. I've been telling everybody about this place. If you haven't tried Butter Pecan Cookies yet--run, don't walk. Absolute cookie heaven!

Yelp
Best cookies in the Bay. That's what the sign will say when you walk through the door and I concur. Butter pecan Bakeshop is making the best cookies available. Buttery, sweet, rich cookies. I don't have a ton more to describe these cookies but that they are good cookies. The employees are very friendly and the process is super easy, they grab a box and point to the flavor of cookies you want. Butter Pecan Bakeshop is must if you are in the mood for cookies.
google avatar

Crystal T.

Yelp
Amazingggg cookies! Soft and chewy in the middle with a light crisp to the edges. The workers were very nice and gave great recommendations! It's a small shop, but when you enter, you get a huge whiff of the baked goods. All the ones I got were really good and I would get again! But my favorites were Oreo and banana! I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone who loves cookies as much as I do :)
google avatar

Vivian T.

Yelp
The interior was so neat and put together. Coming inside around 11am, it seemed as the cookie shop was already sold out of some flavors!! I got a box of five made up of dark chocolate chip, Strawberry cheesecake, banana pudding, cookies & cream, and Almond Roca. Almond Roca 5/5: This had the best collaboration of nuts and salts. I loved the roasted nuts that laid on the top and the texture of each bite! I'm an almond/ nut fan, and I love how this cookie was not overly sweet (; Cookies & Cream 5/5: I fell in LOVE with the mix and color!! The crunch was the highlight of this cookie. Banana PUDDING 10/5: My absolute favorite cookie for today. The pudding softness inside paired with that warm crunch was amazing. If you want a more refreshing cookie then this is the cookie for you!

Yelp
Heard about Butter Pecan since they seem to be popping up everywhere in the Bay Area, decided to come to this location. Unlike other cookie shops out there just top their cookies with frosting, this shop actually bakes their flavors into the cookies themselves. The cookies are sweet but aren't overly decadent. Meaning you can finish one and not feel too guilty about it. I got a mix of cookies but the one that stood out to me was the banana pudding. It was soft, chewy, and stayed true to the name. Overall, very solid cookie shop and great flavors. Will be back to try the other flavors.

Yelp
My daughter and I made our way to Butter Pecan Bakeshop following an afternoon pamper session of manis & pedis. Tucked in a neighborhood of Emeryville - pass Emeryville Marketplace and at 65th turn right. The storefront is spacious, but easily missed with surroundings of housing and industrial. Street parking is your vehicle option, most of it is consumed by residents of the area. Once parking was complete, we made our way to the store. The exterior grounds has a round table with a crescent shaped seat to stay and enjoy your eats. The table was quite clean and well kept so you could enjoy a bite or two if you were inclined. The storefront is glass paneling with mouth watering cookie decals heavily "welcoming" you to enter. Once inside, the store is spacious - the right half houses the cookie selections and register, while the left half is unoccupied with potential of more to come. Not sure if seating was once inside, it definitely is an option to be created. The interior was extremely clean, meticulously organized and glossy white. The oversized glass panels separates the cookies from the customer and are organized by flavor. As a Yelp Elite, we (my lil one and I) were gifted 5 cookies. Being a small black owned business, I supported and ordered half a dozen ($23) to add to our box. I love the selection based on the uniqueness of flavor selection. In our box we had, Almond Roca (2), Birthday Cake (1), Dark Chocolate Walnut (1-which I regret not getting more!), Banana Pudding (2), Cookies & Cream (2), Tea Cake (1), Strawberry Dipped Chocolate (1-my daughter's pick) and Banana Toffee (1). Each cookie had soft, chewy interiors with a crispy edge. The flavor combinations were so well-balanced and combined. I appreciate how each cookie lived up to its name, not failing me for a lack of this or where is that flavor. My favorites: dark chocolate walnut FOR SURE! (& I am not a fan of nuts in my cookie), banana pudding (without the spoon) and tea cake (the spices paired beautifully with a cup of coffee). My little one enjoyed the birthday cake and cookies & cream. According to the owner, he says expect more southern flavors to come - I will. Thank you for hosting the Yelp event, much appreciated! Beautiful introduction.

Yelp
Cookies are maybe my favorite dessert (sorry, cakes and pies), so this cookie-only bakeshop with great reviews had me intrigued. No wait on a Tuesday afternoon. Slightly challenging area to find parking, but not too bad. The interior was cute, if a little minimal, and was spotless. The staff person helping me was very sweet (no pun intended) and guided me through some of the flavors. I'm not usually the biggest banana fan, but my interest was piqued by Butter Pecan's novel takes. The banana toffee and banana pudding ended up being delicious and a little nostalgic in the best way. The brown butter pecan also couldn't be beat, with that wonderful brown butter richness also coming through in the strawberry cheesecake as well. Butter Pecan has 4 locations total so far, and they offer some fun promotions currently, like if you collect all 4 trading cards of their different shops, you get some free cookies. I'm excited to try their Pinole location next, and I know I'll be bringing 2 dozen of their banana toffee cookies to my next event!

Yelp
$3.95 per cookie $23 for 6 $39 for 12 These cookies are well priced for the size and flavors they offer! They don't have your typical chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter, etc This months flavor of the month is almond roca & chocolate covered strawberry. We got the banana pudding, banana toffee, cookies and cream, chocolate covered strawberry and birthday cake. I loved loved all the options!!! The cookies are baked to perfection. Nice crisp edges, buttery and soft in the middle. They aren't overly sweet and that taste of these cookies really come through! I honestly couldn't pick a favorite as they were all equally really good. There was a line on an early morning weekend. I love the they open early for a cookie spot. Plenty of parking on the street and garage. The worker/cashier gentleman was sooooo nice! He handled the long like very well and took his time with each customer- didnt real rushed at all. Can wait to come back!

Melissa ..

Yelp
My friend and I went and got the banana pudding and strawberries and cream cookies. When I tell you.... These cookies are NO JOKE. these cookies....my god. Both me and my friend started levitating. We screamed. We cried. We rejoiced. Never have we ever had such a taste, no, such a SENSATION so amazing and beautiful. The banana pudding, my god I had to stop driving it was so good. The strawberries and cream even better. These are the best cookies we have EVER and i mean EVER had. 20 out of 10.

Yelp
My husbands fav cookie shop! He always requests a dozen when ever I visit because he loved them so much. The birthday cake cookie is my personal favorite! They are all rich and sweet and feel homemade. I recommend trying one of each to see what your favorite is! Even my sister loved the crispy edges with the gooey inside, we even added ice cream with it. WORTH IT!

Yelp
It smelled and looked delish! Unfortunately my wife is gluten free so I couldn't buy anything...next time I will just for myself!

Yelp
I went to Emeryville last minute to eat at one of the restaurants located in the area. Right across the street, I see Butter Pecan Bakeshop. I was so excited that I ran across the street! I had this bakery saved on my list for at least A YEAR. I was planning on going to the Pleasant Hill location but I don't have to anymore since this location is a lot closer to me. Yay! The ambiance is underwhelming. There's no chairs or tables inside, just the counter with 2 employees and the cookies. There's tables outside. Anyway, I order a box of six (brown butter pecan, stuffed churro, strawberries and cream, cookies and cream, tea cake, and banana pudding). My absolute favorite was the cookies and cream. My least favorite was the strawberries and cream. The rest were great as well, no complaints. Honorable mention would be the banana pudding. All cookies were baked to perfection. Soft on the inside and a slight crunch around the edge. Butter Pecan Bakeshop is the real deal. All cookies taste homemade and worth the trip/money. I can't wait to go back and try more options!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped on a Saturday mornkng before heading to Los Moles across the street and it wasn't super busy. It was perfect, ordered my ookis and took them to go. They are a little on the pricer end, but they are big so I was able to share with the people I was with. I ordered: Butter Pecan: was really good, and as the name describes it, it was definitely buttery. I wish it had more pecan flavor, but I would get again. Strawberry shortcake: Sooo good! Was ny favorite. Cookies and cream: Was really good, and I'm not the biggest fan of cookies and cream usually
google avatar

Dee W.

Yelp
The cookies were soft and had a buttery crunch around the edges.. not many options to choose from only because I came about 15min to closing. But the service was great places was clean and I would definitely recommend and go back
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
Grab and go type of store with no indoor seating and a few outdoor tables. No complains about the service. We shared the dark chocolate sea salt, banana pudding, and brown butter pecan cookies. My ranking is as follows: 1) dark chocolate sea salt 2) brown butter pecan 3) banana pudding. Dark chocolate sea salt was pretty good, nothing mindblowing but my favorite of the 3 since it just tasted like a classic. Brown butter pecan could've had stronger flavors. It was too light and I felt like I was waiting for it to get better or the flavor to kick in but it never did. Was not a fan of the banana pudding. Banana flavor tasted too artificial and forced. I think the banana toffee would've been better. Next time I'd try the cookies & cream.

Yelp
Butter Pecan Bakeshop needs to take over the bay area IMMEDIATELY. My partner and I find ourselves getting a box every week... Unfortunately our new addiction. I would recommend finding street parking adjacent to the main road (free on weekends, metered on the weekdays). The staff at this location are always super welcoming and helpful. Better to arrive earlier in the day to ensure you grab your favorite flavors, but even before closing they did have a good spread of their classics. Their cookies are the perfect balance of crispy, fudgy, and sweet-but-not-too-sweet. My personal favorites are their Butter Pecan, Banana Toffee, and Sea Salt Chocolate. And I love trying their seasonal offerings! Super creative and delicious every time. NOTE: As their Black History Month 2025 promo, if you collect all four cards from visiting their East Bay locations, you get a free 6-pack! Or a free cookie for each individual card :)

Yelp
Some of the very best cookies you can get in the Bay Area. Amazing flavors that taste like grandma just made them. We have visited all the Bay Area locations and we are thrilled to add another location to the city of Emeryville. Steph was our cookie tour guide, she has exceptional customer service skills and was very helpful in our pickup order. We look forward to many more happy cookie moments!!
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
I had the pleasure to try a salted chocolate chip cookies at a Super Bowl party and this has become my #1 recommended cookie in the Bay Area! It's perfectly tender with crisper edges. The flavor was great and the salt flakes take it over the top! If I'm ever across the bridge, I will be stopping here for sure!
google avatar

Allyson T.

Yelp
I think I found my nirvana. We got a box of 12 and unfortunately ate all. They were TOO delectable- the perfect texture and made with love. These genuinely had the homemade feel. Butter Pecan and the Salted Dark Chocolate Chip cookies were the best flavors imo!!
google avatar

Jemila P.

Yelp
All I have to say is Banana Toffee! This was such an unexpectedly delicious treat as I do not typically enjoy banana based desserts. We tried the lightly lemon flavored tea cake, birthday cake, beautifully balanced dark chocolate sea salt and Almond Roca, and brown butter pecan. Each cookie had a distinct flavor, crispy-chewy texture, and while sweet you can still enjoy the intended flavor. The shop is a cute space with a nice layout for customers to clearly see all the cookies. The cashier was friendly and patient as we decided on our treats! We have to try other locations as well - for research purposes.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
I live in PH so happy to have Butter Pecan in my area! I have been here once before and also for the Yelp event. I really enjoyed their cookies. They have a combination of a chewiness and crunch that I love. My favorite was the chocolate chip with sea salt and enjoyed the fruit flavors of banana and strawberry. Very delicious and satisfying and will continue to frequent this location. Both times, I have been greeted by the friendly employees. Overall a pleasurable experience!
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Some of the best cookies we've ever had! Their "simple" cookie flavors are consistently great, and some of their more unique ones are amazing. The strawberry/chocolate one for Valentine's Day had gooey strawberry inside and was partially chocolate dipped. The Almond Roca one had a nice sprinkling of that candy on top. The cookies are all pretty big, chewy, rich, and so tasty.
google avatar

Marsalia R.

Yelp
The cookies were definitely better than what I'd make at home, but overall, the experience was just okay. The inside of the shop wasn't very inviting--there was nowhere to sit and enjoy your treats, which was a little disappointing. The selection was pretty minimal, and while one of the cookies I tried (a white chocolate one) was super delicious, the chocolate-covered strawberry cookie was way too gooey for my taste. Prices were on the higher side, and while the cookies were good, they weren't special enough for me to make the drive from Sacramento again. The person working didn't recommend any cookie as I was trying to make a selection
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Sunday to pick up some cookies. Bakery is clean and smells delicious when you walk inside. Workers are very friendly and helpful. I chose 6 different flavors, my favorite is the birthday cake! They were all so good. Love supporting local businesses and will definitely return.
google avatar

Mary F.

Yelp
Some friends and I stopped by today after lunch since we were craving something sweet (they happened to be having a Yelp Elite event there when we were there too, but I am not signed up for Elite events in this area!) The employees were super nice and helpful. I got a box of six cookies (two birthday, one chocolate covered strawberry, one strawberry cheesecake, one cookies and cream, and one banana pudding). I noticed that the cookies aren't very consistent/uniform looking, even if they were of the same flavor (for example, some of the almond roca cookies are rounded like a ball, while others of the same flavor are very flat). This isn't a big deal if you enjoy the flavor but I imagine it would affect the texture and presentation. Overall, the cookies are fine, but I think I might skip a stop here next time I'm in Emeryville.

Yelp
BEST COOKIES EVER HANDS DOWN. Ordered: Banana pudding, brown butter pecan, cookies and cream, banana toffee, birthday cake Highlights: everything. I brought the banana pudding to Hawaii with me as a gift for a friend and she was STUNNED by how good it was. We both have never had anything like it!!!! Highly recommend as a gift or party favor. I even got my company to get a couple boxes for an event. The texture is my ideal cookie texture and the size is just the right size. And they are all so consistent! I am a strong believer that brown butter makes the best cookies. Service has been great every time I visit (yes, I've been here more than 5 times)
google avatar

May Z.

Yelp
I walk by this place several times every week and it smells so intoxicating, it truly draws you in from down the street! The service is always friendly and helpful. The cookies are consistently the softest, butteriest, and most delicious cookies! The strawberry's and cream cookie is in a league all of its own. Make sure you buy 2 of those, you will regret only getting one.

Momma K.

Yelp
I glad I found this place. The staff have always been pleasant when I've gone in and it's nice and clean. The cookies are delicious and prices comparable to other cookie locations. A great place when you want a cookie that tastes homemade and you don't want to bake yourself.

Yelp
I bought an assortment of cookies to try but didn't have the cookies labeled so it was hard to figure out which cookies were which. My wife and I played guess that cookie and we think we figured out most of cookies but did guess wrong on a couple. Overall, the cookies were soft, a little chewy and not overly sweet. There weren't any cookies that we thought were the best ever but everything we tried tasted pretty good. We will try them again but pay extra to have the cookies labeled. We guessed the type of cookie in the pictures but labeled them as "Maybe" if we weren't sure.

Yelp
I've actually had these before, a supervisor brought a couple boxes in. They were good enough for me to track down and buy a box of my own. You can smell the aromas of cookies baking in the building. They have different flavors. I got a Strawberries and cream, 2 oatmeal raisin pecans, fudge brownies, cookies and cream, brown butter pecan it was an order of 6 for $23. That's about 3.83 a cookie they are a decent size and specialty's. I ate one of the oatmeal raisin pecans on the way home. Yes in deed. Really good stuff. Give this place a try

Yelp
Good cookies. Very rich. Don't buy too many but wow! Of course I didn't obey my own advice.

Yelp
Homemade cookies that you can only dream of making at home! Sad that I only had this place once and never felt the trip to Emeryville worth it but Butter Pecan Bakeshop's cookies are worth a try. In contrast to the thick bakery-style Crumbl/Levain cookies that most small cookie shops are adopting, this store specializes in thin and chewy yet still huge cookies that melt apart in your hands from how buttery they are. You can tell the brown sugar content is high in these - the cookies are moist, not cakey in the slightest, and sometimes you can chew the granules of sugar. The flip side to this is that they are eye-twitchingly sweet. They are the kind of cookies that you believe you can replicate at home (especially since they are quite expensive) but I can never get the texture right myself (probably because I refuse to put that much sugar in a cookie). So I'll leave it to the experts and support a small business in the process. Next time you're willing to drop a $20 on Crumbl, try this place out instead?

Yelp
Loved these cookies! They were such a good treat after a long week. Get the sea salt chocolate and oatmeal cookie! You won't regret it. They were perfectly baked and soft yet crispy. The other flavors were a little too sweet for my liking. But still good.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and get some cookies from Butter Pecan Bakeshop the next time your sweet tooth gets the best of you. Their banana pudding and dark chocolate chip cookies were the highlight. I ate them so fast that I forgot to take a picture. Oops.

Yelp
No frill place with about 10 different cookies. I only needed 3 so had to pay the highest price of $3.75. The brown butter pecan was our least favorite (too sweet) but the walnut brownie and dark chocolate sea salt were fantastic.

Yelp
Y'all. If you haven't been here yet, you are MISSING OUT!!! I was too, but now I know, and I will be back for sure. I've had butter pecan bake shop bookmarked since it first opened so when I was in the area last weekend, I finally had the chance to stop by. Parking on a Saturday afternoon was pretty easy with lots of street parking around. They're also connected to a parking garage, which I missed when I was driving, but that's super convenient too. All of their cookies are on display so you can easily see the choices for the day. There was so much to choose from and tbh I would've wanted to buy them all but ya girl is trying to get fit so it was just two cookies this time. Brown Butter Pecan: the cookie is so perfectly sweet and I can totally tell it was brown butter. Plus the pecans add a nice crunch. Ugh, so good. Banana Pudding: does no one else make banana pudding cookies? Because this is genius and so delicious especially when it's warm. The texture, the perfect banana flavor - I'd buy a whole box of just these! Try it. Seriously. Anyways, I'll def be back. Already can't wait.

Yelp
I found out about Butter Pecan Bakeshop at Black Vines last week where I got a Cookies n Cream cookie and my mind was blown. I went to their bakery today and all I have to say is that this place is a threat to my waistline! It's way too close to my house for comfort! I got a cookies n cream, oatmeal raisin, and dark chocolate pecan and I'm ashamed to say I ate all 3 in one day! I gifted a friend a birthday cake, dark chocolate sea salt, and walnut brownie and she did the responsible thing and sampled them all. She said she loved them but sea salt was her top choice. These cookies are sooooo fresh. You can tell they're made from scratch by an expert baker who just has that magic touch. They're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They're perfectly dense with each flavor in every bite. My advice is to go early if you want to get any of the popular flavors. I went around 4:15 and I'll tell you which ones were most popular because they were gone - banana pudding, banana toffee, and brown butter. Please someone erase this place from my memory I beg!

Yelp
This place is a bit far from where I live so when I was in the East Bay for work, I just had to stop by to finally get to try Butter Pecan Bakeshop! I've had this place bookmarked for forever and I am a fan of chewy cookies (also guilty of having a huge sweet tooth). These are definitely my type of cookies! Chewy on the inside with a nice crisp on the edges, packed full of flavor with delicious and unique flavors. I tried a whole bunch of cookies - chocolate chip, butter pecan, banana toffee, banana pudding, cookies n cream, coffee (seasonal flavor), strawberry , etc. My personal favorites were the banana toffee and butter pecan. Which goes to show how well they make their flavors because these are not my typical favorites at all! Maybe it's a good thing I don't live close by because otherwise they'd take all money because I'd be here every week. I'll 100% be back if I'm ever in the area again. It's hard to say if these are the BEST cookies in the Bay (everyone has different cookie preferences too ofc) but it's definitely in the top 3 for me!
