Butter Smashburgers

I got a double and was pleasantly surprised, it is a bit bigger than other smash burgers in the area. The fries are the best of any other smash burger shops in the area. I’ll go back for just the fries.

A really good Smashburger spot! Small menu which is good. The burgers were thin with lacy edges and full of flavour. The bun held well and the chips were also tasty. Nice clean interior. Would definitely recommend

I had the double cheeseburger combo. The burger was only okay, the patty was overcooked. The fries were good.

The burgers are great, but I’m curious about the quality when serving a burger for $6.50. The place could use something more to entertain customers. It’s a very quiet spot, but the burgers are delicious. Modern burger spot look but just super boring

The meat is was dry on the ends and the center was chewy with a ligament cartilage sparkled throughout. Weird. Very inexpensive for NYC these days.

Smash burgers are tasty with plenty of toppings. Fries are super crispy and well seasoned. Soft serve was tasty but the texture is a bit more icy and less creamy. The food comes out fast and it’s dead cheap. I’ll definitely be back, it’s a great deal!

Decent spot if you need something quick and fast 🏃‍♂️. I had the buffalo chicken burger and I was not impressed. Tasted like some piece of chicken on a potato bread from stop and shop. Fries 🍟 with cheese was, I believe, the cheese in the bottle. Yeah it's a one and done for me. ✌️

butter has the best halal smashburgers on the east coast. the fries hit every time too. they have a different special each month, and those are normally always a 10/10 too! i'm waiting for the day they bring back the beef bacon and fig jam special... that was PERFECT!! and i love that this location has a bit more seating than the one on macdougal - i can always get a seat since it's quick.

Delicious heart attack smash burger on a potato bun. Very simple and done quickly, if you order a single it will be sort of a snack as it's pretty small.

I had noticed that this new smashburger place opened up on St. Marks Pl, so went to try it as I'm a veritable burger lover. I regretted the experience. I was talked into doing a combo as it was supposed to be cheaper than ordering the burger and fries separately, but was not told of the extra surcharges for adding cheese or selecting the ice tea beverage. So, I ended up spending more for subpar cheese sauce that tasted like chemicals and iced tea with a rancid aftertaste. The burger and the fries were nothing special. I think they lacked seasoning. Only the house sauce was good. I am not surprised that this place only had one other customer during the 1:00-1:30 popular lunch hour for office workers on a weekday. Let that be a lesson.

New location for Butter Smashburgers by St Marks. Inside is clean and modern with a few small tables for seating. Ordering can be done on the tablets. I had their impossible meat smashburger which was very satisfying. Combined with their regular fries, it's a good choice if you're in the mood for burgers.

Taste better than a lot of the other smash burgers in the area as the patty is large and flat as a smash patty should be. Pricing is pretty much on point with all the others for six dollars if you want a single and nine dollars if you want a double. For fries, you can choose between four flavors, including truffle. Guy working there was nice and the cooks were efficient. Lively place on Friday night with groups taking a break from the bars.

A good, solid burger and fries. I also really enjoyed the sundae, and the prices for everything were affordable given the smashburger trend in NYC right now. It wouldn't be my first choice for a burger but I enjoyed it!

I have visited Butter twice with two different groups, and I've been incredibly impressed both times. On both occasions, our group collectively agreed that it was the best burger we have ever had. As a California native, it almost feels illegal to say that, since we are supposed to stay loyal to In-N-Out, but they don't even compare. This is an absolute must-try in NYC and easily our favorite restaurant. If we had to recommend one item to friends visiting NYC, it would be a smash burger from here. Bonus: it's halal, which is great since I have many friends and family who exclusively eat halal.

Won't refund my order that was never delivered that I've contacted about three different times. This has been a day long process with no resolution reached, I just want my money back for my order I never received.

EXCELLENT smash burger. They also have impossible meat for the vegetarian. Highly recommend.

Had the fried chicken sandwich. The patty is too large and the bun too small and flimsy. This, plus too many wet ingredients and you end up with a mushy sandwich that falls apart after a couple bites.

Burger and truffle fries is to die for, space is small but the food is Great! love to go back just like eating in In and Out youll keep coming back

Really great no frill smashed burger with amazing truffle fries. A must try. Get the combo- best for your bucks.

Clean and really fast service! Menu isn't huge but for what they have, the burgers and cheese fries were super good! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a late night eat or just a quick bite.
