"Butter Tapas set up to bring “fine dining flavors and ambiance North Charleston,” but after two years in business, chef April Robinson announced that she shuttered the restaurant. Robinson told Post & Courier, “I don’t know that North Charleston was 100 percent ready (for Butter).” Robinson has not announced her future plans." - Erin Perkins

So far I've attended every pop up brunch they've hosted and I've never been disappointed. The food is reasonably priced and extremely flavorful. Not only that, but it's presented beautifully. The service was wonderful and the owner, April, even comes out frequently to make sure her guest are enjoying themselves. This combination of attentiveness, an inviting atmosphere and decor, and delicious food is more than enough to keep me coming back. Highly recommend you try it!

I have visited twice during visits to Charleston and each time I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Everything I tried was amazing. These are pics from my first visit, but I had two more items, if I'm not mistaken. The ambience, food and service were great. Will be back.

Today is my first time here; I heard about it from a friend. The staff is friendly. Love the mood music and the overall design of the place. Too bad I didnt bring an appetite with me, but the little that I did eat was fantastic. I ordered some sweet potato grits, which were tasty! And some brussel sprouts that were top notch. The second they hi the table in front of me, 2 friends said, "Mannnnn, let me try one!!!" The brussel sprouts had a slightly sweet taste, with just enough of that char'd flavor. My 2 friends ordered their own plate. And I assure you, I got my sprouts back. Lol. I hope to explore more of the menu some day; especially the cupcakes!!

My wife and I were in the mood for some lighter fare so we stopped by Butter Tapas for our Friday date night. The server was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Their cheese plate was large enough to split and featured a wide assortment of high quality cheeses and garnishes (fresh fruit, bread, honeycomb). It was beautifully-presented and probably the best cheese plate I had ever tasted. Our dinner also included a delicious salad and a gourmet cupcake for dessert. We had a lovely dining experience and will definitely return in the future for another date night.

My husband and I had our first visit at Butter Tapas yesterday and it was absolutely delicious. You can taste the love Chef April puts into her food. The ambiance of her restaurant is clean and perfect. Very elegant. You are visually stimulated as soon as you walk in the door. We had a friend with us who has special diet needs and Chef April created the perfect dish for her and it was heaven on a plate. Can't wait to go back. 🌴a LowCountry Diamond Eatery.

Butter cupcakes was love. Butter tapas however is a complete flop. I wanted and tried so hard to like this place. The first time I went I was surprised by how expensive considering it is a "tapas" restaurant and most people order multiple servings at a normal tapas however the dishes here range the same price as a full entree at other restaurants. The first time I arrived at butter, the baker was our server and she let us know she was the baker and wasn't experienced as a server and that was blantly obvious. We ordered the lamp pops which only came with two small lamp pops. Very tasty but not nearly tasty or meaty enough for the price. I told my friend I did not want to go back. Well one of our other friends went to butter and ordered a cake and while there, we went with our friend to pick up the cake and we tried the caramel apple mimosa which made me want to give it one more try. The third time is supposed to be the charm but this time was my last time, over and done. We started our brunch with the mimosa flight and each option was good. We liked the champagne and strawberries and ordered a full size carafe of it. The carafe the server brought us was not the same drink we had experienced from the flight. It tasted and looked like an oversized jug of dirty dish water. We let our server know and she informed us it was not the same drink we'd experienced in our flight but she had no problem making it like it was in our flight and replacing it. She replaced it but in the end charged us for 3 carafes, including the dirty dish water carafe. One top of this my mother and I got our food thirty minutes before my sister, the baker(still serving) came out and informed us 15 minutes after we go our food my sister's burger would be coming out late because the cook forgot to turn the grill on!!!!! I try my best to support local businesses but every time I have been here they have been out of the options I requested, the service was beyond SLOW and it is always just a giant overpriced disappointment. I am writing this review as I sit at la hacienda, do your stomach and your wallet a favor and have a meal at La hacienda or Billy's burgers.

The brussel sprouts and zucchini chips were great and a good-sized portion for tapas. The truffle fries were good as well. The lamb pops were seasoned well and cooked to perfection, very delicious. The chocolate cupcakes weren't overwhelmingly chocolate (which is good), but the salted pretzel cupcake is the best.
