I’ve been a client for several years, and this review is long overdue…but if you’re looking for a place to get high-quality facial services, please go to Buttercup and seek out Mona! I see Mona every 6 weeks, and my skin looks and feels great! She’s a skilled esthetician who gives me a very thorough cleansing facial each time; she always customizes the facial for whatever my skin needs in the moment. She’s gentle-yet-effective with extractions, and I always feel perfectly cleansed and relaxed after each session. I can’t recommend her enough, Mona is fantastic!

I had such a great experience with Mona at Buttercup Skin Care. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely attentive. She took the time to understand my skin concerns (especially since my skin can be sensitive/reactive), explained what she was doing and why, and made sure everything felt comfortable throughout. She asked thoughtful questions, adjusted everything to what my skin could tolerate, and checked in the whole time. The treatment was relaxing but also results-driven, and I left with zero irritation and a noticeable glow. My skin looked calmer and more refreshed right after. Such a great experience at this place! Xena and Kate are both wonderful. Their extractions not the most comfortable however super thorough. I’ve done the custom facial and European massage facial. I left every time feeling happy, relaxed, and glowing like a glazed donut. Highly recommended!

I’ve been seeing Mona for monthly facials for over a year, and the difference in my skin has been amazing. Anytime life gets busy and I miss a month or two, I can truly tell. Mona is incredible, and I wouldn’t trust my skin with anyone else. She’s extremely thorough with extractions while still making the entire experience so relaxing—from the initial cleanse to the shoulder massage and ice rollers. Every visit feels like a reset. Their new location is also super convenient and beautifully clean. I can’t recommend Mona enough.

Mona is fantastic! I have been going to her for years and she has always tailored her approach to whatever my skin needs at the time. (I get the customized facial.) Whether I'm dry in the winter or oily in the summer, I always leave Buttercup and Mona with balanced, glowy skin! If you need extractions just know that she is thorough and as gentle as possible.

Buttercup Skin Care has been my facial destination quite for a few years now and I am beyond happy with the services provided there. I absolutely adore Mona for the incredible job she does on my face. If you are looking for a customized or a deep cleansing facial, Mona is the esthetician you need. Had a facial with Marcella a few days ago and my skin still looks great! clear and glowy. She really took the time to assess my skin and customized the treatment instead of doing a one-size-fits-all facial. Super gentle, no irritation at all. Highly recommend.

Been a customer since 2019 but - My experience has taken a disappointing turn. The owner and manager's unfortunate arrogance, poor management, and lack of respect for their customers have made it clear that they don't value the people who support their business: This place requires a strict 24 hour cancellation policy, but cancels appointments less than 2 hours before appointment time. This has happened on multiple occasions all on flimsy excuses, with an impersonal email, while you have already planned your day. Once or twice is understandable, but repeated instances demonstrate a lack of professionalism and disregard for customers' time (I tolerated this many times over the years) - and they call their last-minute cancellations a "policy", while it is a pattern. Instead of making efforts to retain customers or offer any meaningful resolution, when I finally spoke up, The "manager" working that day right off the bat suggested that I take my business elsewhere, canceled all my future appointments, and deactivated my account as retaliation. My effort to reach the manager was ignored, and they chose to communicate solely over email. The tone was combative and filled with attitude; the manager even lied about the reasons for my past appointment cancellations (see screenshot). There was no accountability and they made no effort to accommodate the customer - there's only immediate defensiveness, dysfunctional communication, and punitive measures for voicing concerns - all on top of yet another last-minute cancellation. Rather than valuing customers and handling things differently, they chose to push them away. When I reported this incident to the owner Rani, rather than addressing my concern, she demanded that I take down my online review in exchange for continued service. When I refused, she aligned with the manager and reinforced severing the relationship (adding, "we wish you the best in your future endeavors"). She also refused to acknowledge the manager's behaviors or take any accountability. This business has failed to uphold even basic professionalism and courtesy. The owner only cares about herself.

Got a hydrating facial. A. MAZ. ING. I wanted to try it out because it was so affordable, but I walked out feeling like I got it 300$ facial. Will be back :)

I started getting facials here at least 7 years ago. Quality of service has always been highly dependent on esthetician as some are better and more attentive than others. However, the value of their services has kept me coming back. Leading up to my wedding I came once a month for 4 months so I was obviously a satisfied customer Today, I returned for the first time in a year and saw Marcela who I had worked with before. I was SHOCKED at how the quality of the experience had degraded. As another reviewer mentioned, she used a metal extraction tool which I don't recall ever having been used on my face, in any facial ever not just here. I understand that there are various methods for extraction but this felt overly harsh and not precise. She also did not use the lighted magnifying glass to take a closer look at my skin before she started. Then she used a high frequency wand to kill bacteria for what felt like an excessive amount of time. Then the kicker...she put a SHEET MASK on my face, put me under a light therapy device that costs less than the one I have at home that I bought on Amazon for $100, and then used an ice roller on me. The fact that the "hydration" upgrade was a sheet mask is hard to believe. For $90-100 I'm not expecting the best quality products but for a sheet mask to the product that sat on my skin longest, is very disappointing. Every other time I've been here they finish with a lip mask which did not happen this time. My esthetician arrived to the appointment at the same time as me which I'm usually happy to overlook but the whole experience felt rushed and my service was less than 60 minutes. She also didn't turn the overhead light off which kind of ruined the atmosphere. Really disappointed that a place that has been so reliable and enjoyable in the past has started to cut so many corners. And even worse, one of my friends had come the day before for the first time at my recommendation.

Weirdest facial I've ever received... I came in today and got into the bed. I immediately told Marcella that the steam was way too intense and instead of being accommodating she aggressively said "I don't understand what you want me to do, do you want me to turn it off? I need to get to your pores." So I said it was fine and just tried to breathe through it. After a single cleanse, she examined my skin. She told me my cheeks were extremely dry so she was going to recommend a different hydro facial than the one I booked (an upcharge). I declined and she still tried to gilt me into it. After this, she went into extractions. She used a metal tool and scraped it across every inch of my face. It hurt so incredibly bad (I've done many extractions before). Also this was done to my allegedly dry cheeks - it didn't feel right. Next, she used the high frequency wand for what felt like 20 mins. She'd hold it in a random spot for 60 seconds at a time (my eyebrow?) felt like a waste of time. Next a simple sheet mask, and infrared light where she left the room for 10 minutes while I laid there. When she came back finally, she quicker applied moisturizer, sunscreen, and the lip mask and it was done. She gave me time to change and then I went to check out. When I left the building I realized it hadn't even been 60 minutes since I had arrived at the building. So much for the hour-long facial. Extremely disappointed - do not go. My face is still SO red and sore. Not worth the money or time.

Eunice is the best! I have been coming to her for years and have recommended all of my friends as well. Each session is customized to what my skin needs at the present moment, and from the very first service Eunice prepared a detailed skincare regimen for me including recommended products which have worked wonders for me. Eunice is truly the kindest most knowledgeable aesthetician, she is a magician on my skin, and my Oura ring logs my session as a nap, that's how peaceful and relaxing a session with Eunice is! She is the only person I trust with my sensitive and temperamental skin. I travel to New York now to see her since leaving the city. You can't go wrong seeing Eunice!

I just had an amazing facial at Butter Cup Skin Care. The place is spotless, and the staff are incredibly kind. I enjoyed a one-hour facial that got my skin ready for the hot summer months. My skin is so glowing!!!

This is a great place to go for facials and gentle peels! I've been going for several years and have never had a bad experience. Before I was usually going to 5th ave location. But after pandemic they closed that one and keep opening Hell's Kitchen location that more convenient for me! MARCELLA was the master esthetician who really examined my skin and made a decision based on my skin type, sensitivity, etc. She was super knowledgable and customized the facial to my needs. she is very gentle and patient. My skin start getting better and clean after I tried to come more often Like around every six weeks to clean out my pores! And the prices are definitely within my budget, this allows me to still pamper myself without hurting my pockets! Lol.

My go-to for facials. Everyone here is super knowledgable about skincare and takes necessary time to address any concerns. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

I had my facial with Eunice and it was amazing! She was super informative and nice, walked me through the process of what she was doing to my skin. Aided all the target areas i needed addressed while being super careful in not damaging my skin even though i'm naturally squeamish with sensitive skin. On top of that we got to talk about what may be causing this irritation and she gave me a list of product recommendations to try out! Amazing experience would highly recommended! Three of us had facials. I wasn't too excited about my experience. Staff was pleasant. Extractions were strange. After a bit of steam, all extractions were done with comedone metal extractor and then the extractor was pressed across entire face. ( on cheeks, no congestion- so it just hurt) Very heavy use of high frequency wand- so much so I thought the aesthetician was falling asleep. All three of us came out glowing, but we still have blackheads--Which is really why we came to Buttercup. Heyday and Ling better.

They just used a sheet mask on me. For the price you pay, you'd expect at least a salon mask. No facial massage either. Quality was not up to expectation.

First of all loved that the esthetician Rani who recommended me so many products after and answered all my skincare questions! I definitely believe good skin is rooted in skincare education and Buttercup skincare knows their stuff! I especially loved that she first and foremost asked about my skincare concerns to customize the facial for my skin type! The facial was so soothing starting with a cleanse, facial massage, then extractions (I had some blackheads on my nose along with imperfections), microdermabrasion, and finally a face mask! I felt soooo glowy afterwards and now my skin is ready for my next photoshoot!! Thanks Rani for one of the best facials I've had in New York!

I have now gotten a few facials at this sweet little establishment, and I can say without a doubt that they have given me the best facials I have ever had. I've gotten facials in fancy spas in Soho, 5 star resorts around the world, you get the idea. THIS. PLACE. If you are in need of extractions, they got you. I also love that they don't push their products on you when you're finished. So many spas are trying to sell you the goodies they used on your skin. I would trust them inherently with anything skin related.

I had a custom facial with Marcella. To begin with, the place is so cute and clean. They were right on schedule, which I appreciated. Marcella was so nice and guided me through the treatment, explaining each step. I got extractions, which are always painful, but my skin did not look red after at all! I guess she just had great technique. I felt so clean and fresh! The products she used felt great on my skin and I left my appointment loving the glow.

This is my second time coming here. I got the classic facial with Eunice last time and the hydration facial with Ana this time. Both staff members were extremely friendly and answered any questions I had. I even asked Ana questions about back acne even though it wasn't related to my facial and she kindly recommended products for me to try. Will definitely keep coming back!

Loved my facial with Val! She was very through and explained what she was going to do. She made sure I was comfortable and informed about my skin. This is my first time at their Fifth Ave. location. I left feeling rejuvenated. Definitely going back to see her.

ButterCup is conveniently located (near K-Town) and provides reasonably priced facials in Manhattan. I've gone a few times over the past year specifically to see Ana, my favorite esthetician! She's done wonders for my skin and always takes care to be very gentle and patient. After each facial, my skin is extremely clear and feels amazing for the next few weeks. During my first session, I asked Ana for recommendations based on my skin type. Off hand, she gave me a few recommendations and followed up with a comprehensive list via text, including sunscreen, moisturizer, lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, and facial cleanser. I've been using the same products for several months and my skin has remained acne-free. I highly recommend Ana! She's a true professional and I have always had positive experiences at ButterCup with her.

My sister treated me to a facial here and I am impressed with the results! The prices here are fair/comparable to other high end facial prices. I haven't gotten a facial in years. My main skin issue is dryness and clogged pores. On the day of, I was 11 mins late due to train mishaps. However, my facial experience did not feel rushed. The room I was in was clean and quiet. Mona did the extractions very skillfully. Although they hurt, I could tell her method mitigated the pain and did not leave marks behind. She recommended microdermabrasion for exfoliating which I agreed to. I do wish she explained what she was doing and spoke more about microdermabrasion so I could be more educated. I left with skin that looked refreshed, soft, and rejuvenated.

I was very new to facials when I found Marcella a few months ago, she made me feel welcomed the minute I walked in and her skill was apparent right away. She went over my complete history of skin and health issues before beginning my treatment to make sure her products would appropriate for me. I would highly recommend Face to Face to anyone! She is gentle, kind and knowledgeable. Her products have done wonders for my skin, which now has a hydrated, healthier glow. The experience is meditative and relaxing with calming music and aromatherapy. It's a real treat that I now look forward to once a month！ The place is super cute and really clean!

Had such a wonderful experience with Val yesterday! My face has been breaking out like crazy due to wearing a mask in the humidity. Val carefully explained what was wrong, even giving me a visual explanation for why no matter how much I use a physical exfoliant, I need a professional extraction to get rid of all the closed comedones invading my face. So helpful! She was super gentle, constantly asking me if I was doing okay, and truly had a lovely conversation with her. When talking about skincare, she really knew her stuff. I felt like we were playing charades where I would try and explain the product I was using, forgetting the name, and she would correctly figure it out every. single. time. Super impressive. Afterward, she explained the products I should be using, how, and when (and gave easy drugstore recs!) and told me I should come in again after 2-4 weeks to clean up the rest of the closed comedones. Once they're cleared, she recommended I would only need to come in once every 1-2 months. Not particularly red afterward, just some residual redness from my breakouts. Skin is noticeably softer today with significantly less texture thanks to her careful extractions. I felt like I had such a personalized experience with Val and can't wait to see her again. New favorite facialist for sure!

When ButterCup reopened in the midst of the pandemic, I took a chance and went in. I worked with Rani (who was exceptional) and instantly became hooked. We had a microdermabrasion session and totally helped me combat the mask acne I had been experiencing. Since then, I've come back to work with Ana and Val. I had my first chemical peel with Ana, who explained everything so well and was extremely professional and kind. I had my second chemical peel with Val who gave me so many tips and answered all of my questions - she was truly delightful to work with. The prices are very fair for the area and they follow COVID-19 protocols to the tee. I'm excited to keep coming back to ButterCup!

I'm a tourist from California. This is the best facial I have ever gotten since the pandemic. I will definitely be back whenever I visit.

I went here a couple weeks ago since I had some clogged pores on my jawline and needed extractions. I wanted to like this place since it is affordable compared to other places in the city I've been, but I got the custom facial and was disappointed. I told my esthetician about my rosacea and she did very intense, painful extractions cross my t zone and my rosacea is still flaring a bit. And she never got the blackheads on my jawline - I went home and popped some of them out myself. Three stars because she did do a good job calming my skin after the extractions, but I wasn't happy with my results and will not be back.

Marcella has- as of today- become my go to esthetician. Amazing service from beginning to end. She actually looked at my skin and recommended exactly what service I would benefit from. She has a gentle touch & you can tell she is knowledgeable/ passionate about her job!

I first visited ButterCup Skin Care 3 - 4 months ago. I'd been meaning to find a new place to get regular, monthly facials since the place I'd been going to didn't seem to be making a difference with my skin. I was very happy after seeing Ana there. She struck me as someone who knew what she was doing AND she didn't try to sell me products. My skin was clean, looked bright & healthy and had no delayed reactions to any of the treatments she used (my skin is crazy-sensitive). I've been two or three more times now and am EXCEPTIONALLY HAPPY. My skin looks and feels great! I really don't like to wear make-up and now my skin looks so good that the most I need is a little blush & mascara. Lastly, but importantly, the salon is clean and they are following all suggested Covid-19 protocols.

I was referred by my daughter and what an awesome experience! Eunice was the best and taught me so much about my skin and care needed for it. I feel like a new person lol Great first time visit !!!!

First time in this place after read all of reviews. Every place have ppl love or hate. But this is one of my best experience to try here. I did customized facial with deep cleansing and micro together. Only after one time. I can immediately tell my skin getting better texture and clean. Recommended! Will come back again next month!

I've been here a total of 5 times, first 3 visits were okay but the last 2 have my skin made my skin look worse than it ever has. I usually book custom facials but the last month I decided to go for a deep cleansing facial since I had a lot of blackheads, my face broke out so terribly afterwards & took about 4 weeks to go back to semi normal. I read this can happen after deep cleansing facials so I chalked it up to my sensitive skin & booked my usual custom facial which took place this past Friday. The experience was relaxing & immediately after the treatment I thought my skin looked great, but the next day I was breaking out all over again. I didn't put on any makeup, wear a mask, or touch my face after my facial either so I know it wasn't my own doing. I've had different estheticians almost every visit, the last person did not introduce herself so I'm not sure of her name. I'm sad to say I'm going to have to find another place :(

Just got the best customized facial by Mona! I have seriously sensitive skin and we did some things that would probably irritate me but yet I'm 24 hours after and have a fantastic glow. I'll definitely be seeing her again for my monthly facial, the place was clean, quiet and the service was extremely thorough and detailed. Thanks again Mona! I had the most amazing experience with Val! Of course, the pricing for their services is absolutely amazing but you can see they genuinely enjoy what they do! As someone who had frequently gotten facials in the past, I was used to something similar to the classic routine. Val saw how congested my face was and recommended their Deep Cleansing facial to further extract the rest of my face. I might have a high pain tolerance but Val was gentle with extracting everything while we discussed a routine I should develop to better my skin. She was honest with letting me know that I still had some congestion that would take a few weeks to come up to the surface. Since one of my issues was also acne scarring and dark spots, Val decided to pass on giving me a chemical peel due to my extractions and did microdermabrasion on my forehead(didn't have active acne in that area) to show me how it works. That one run through left my forehead the smoothest its been in years! I can't wait to get it done on my entire face the next time I'm in the city. The high frequency was applied to my problem areas and Vall thoroughly explained everything. Once finished I got a text with my personalized skincare routine with product recommendations along with the products I already own that Val approves!

Extremely disappointing. Went to get a "customized facial" and yet all they did was a regular deep cleanse. No explanations were given on what was being done on my skin. When it came to payment. They used the payment on file when booked. I took down the esthetician venmo, got caught up with a phone call after and SHE CHARGED MY CARD A TIP WITHOUT CONSENT. What a slimy business if these workers are going to charge your card without consent. No less not everyone deserves a tip. She didn't do anything above or beyond, i paid for the service and time... EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. Will never be going back, you're better off going to glowbar or heyday.

I've been coming to buttercup for quite some time now and Ana is the best! My skin clogs easily, especially with New York environment, so I do facials every 4-6 weeks. Had bad experience in the past where the facial was just too painful and I'd have scars for up to a week or two after, and my skin still looked clogged. With Ana - it's absolutely painless, very relaxing, my skin feels fresh and looks very clean. Highly recommend!

I came for a microdermabrasion facial with Ana and couldn't be more pleased. She is a wealth of knowledge as an esthetician and had spot on advice that was specific to my personal skin concerns. I really value and trust her expertise and this was hands down the best facial I've ever had. She also provided really great recommendations for products and treatments to help my breakouts. I am glowing!

I had never had a facial before coming to Buttercup, but I finally gave in last winter when my skin was a mess! I've since been back one more time - in November. I have not found a more reasonably priced facial in Manhattan, so that is the biggest selling point for choosing ButterCup. However, I have not been disappointed on either visit. Especially after my most recent visit - I left feeling amazing, and ever since, my skin has been at it's best! Another big selling point was that Buttercup estheticians will do blackhead extractions - which has been great for me, since I sometimes get stubborn blackheads that I cannot seem to get rid of through chemical exfoliants, masks etc. My esthetician even recommended another exfoliant I should try in the future to avoid physical blackhead extractions (which can cause scars even when done by a professional) which I appreciated. I don't see a good reason to ever go anywhere else for my facials in the future - affordable, clean, good service, easy booking system, and effective!

Okay so after a few years of having attended BCSC, I've changed my mind about how I feel about this place! I got a hydration facial with Kate and she was truly amazing. I am 8 months pregnant and since they don't really cater to pregnant women, she got me a pillow to help prop me up and ease my comfort level, super sweet of her. The entire hour was amazing, I fell asleep because of how relaxing the entire facial was. She knows what she's doing...I would recommend her and can't wait for my next facial!

I had a complete opposite experience today in Hells Kitchen than my previous 3 visits at the old 5th Ave location. Let me start by saying that I specifically called and requested the same esthetician that I had last time if possible (but I couldn't remember her name). They told me I saw Ana last time and scheduled me with her, but when I arrived today it was evident that it was not Ana who I had previously seen. I know this because my last esthetician was Asian, and Ana is obviously not Asian. I scheduled the classic facial today as I had my last 3 visits but it surely didn't feel the same. The extractions today were extremely painful, so much so that I had to go back and reread my previous 5 star review just to confirm that this was not the same experience as I had last time (I specifically praised the painless extractions). Everything felt different and I regret making the trip from Staten Island to receive this treatment. Even so, I tipped my usual 20%. But apparently this wasn't enough for Ana. Because not only did Ana not thank me, or say goodbye, but she had also promised to text me retinol recommendations, but never did. Ana, what makes you feel entitled to or deserving of more than the standard 20%? Tipping is based on the experience and services received. Ana did not so much as introduce herself to me. The most conversation we had was Ana: "how is your skin" Me: "not so good right now" Ana: "mmm". Then went immediately into the painful facial with no follow up information besides "you need to use retinol". I'm so disappointed by this whole experience and actually couldn't believe it because of how wonderful my first 3 were. It could be possibly due to new management or just the new estheticians that don't live up to Buttercup's awesome reputation. Had this been my first experience I would have thought I was at the wrong place. The only way I'd ever go back is if I could get the truth on who did my facial last time and see her again.

I had Marcella for a custom facial. My pores were super clogged and I was breaking out in cystic acne all over. Marcella did such a great job with my many extractions and it wasn't as painful as it was for me in the past with other estheticians. My face feels smoother and looks less red the next day and my acne looks like it's healing now. I can't recommend Marcella enough!

I got my facial with Eunice who was very nice and recommended me some products for my skin. I got the custom facial for around $110. She did some extracting and an oxygen treatment, but my skin did not improve at all afterwards. If anything, it got worse as new pimples were appearing. It's been around 2 weeks since my facial and I have yet to see any improvement. Although, my skin has improved due to a new product I've been using that I discovered through my mom.

Came here for the first time today and had an amazing experience. My skin is actually clear as told by my facial lady as well! So If you have clear skin or sensitive skin to begin with, I would do the regular cleanse or ask them when you get there depending on them since they are experts! There are two locations: one on 5th Avenue and one in Hell's Kitchen. I went to the 5th Avenue one and it was super cozy and cute. I enjoyed the extractions because I felt like my pores were getting cleaned out as well as the different types of gels/creams? that were put on my face! My face feels refreshed! Will come back and possibly try the Hell's Kitchen location!

I started searching for facials when I noticed I had tiny blackheads on my cheeks. However, I didnt want to pay to not be satisfied or the blackheads not being able to be removed (which happened at 2 other spas). Thus, I settled and thought that this would be my face forever - blackhead filled and bumpy (was not like that until I moved to NYC). After a few months, I thought I would try again, and found this spa. I read so many phenomenal reviews, specifically about the bumps and hard-to-remove blackheads and how the individuals here were able to remove it all! Thus, I set up an appointment for my husband and I online. We had to book 2 weeks away because there simply were not any availability, so make sure to book early. When we had our facials, the individuals who worked on our faces were gentle. It was so relaxing that we had fallen asleep. When we finished, I did not notice a difference in their dimmed room. I was upset but was fine since the price was low and I had a great nap. However, the following days, my face glowed! I noticed that, indeed, the bumps and blackheads were gone! My face was so much more clear and soft. People were constantly complimenting both of us Gah! We loved it and have recommended them to everyone - local and those from out-of-state.

I'm 33 and I've had acne and blackheads since I was 14. Over the years, I've tried everything to get rid of them, including every variety of acne pads and exfoliation gels. None of that worked. I made the mistake of popping the pimples and trying to pull the blackheads out of my skin- it only exacerbated the problem. It was frustrating. I was so envious of people with perfect skin. Out of desperation, I searched for a place where I could get a microdermabrasion facial. I chose Buttercup since it has a high Yelp rating and is located in an easy-to-reach location. The cost of the hour long session, excluding the $10 tip that I gave, was $83, which I felt was borderline overpriced. There was a 10 minute wait, which is within reason. I don't know the name of the person who gave me the facial, but she was a short, chubby white woman. She was very nice. I really enjoyed the soothing music that was played in the office. During the hour long session, she used a myriad of contraptions and creams . Towards the end of the session, she did the extraction, which was as pleasant as being waterboarded. I was in so much pain that I nearly cried. Nevertheless, I knew that an extraction would be painful and was a necessary evil. After the session, I checked out my skin. She got rid of most of the blackheads on my face. Some are buried so deep in my skin that the only way to get rid of them would be by ripping my skin off my face. I still have acne scars on my face, but I knew that it would take more than an hour long facial to get rid of them. I recommend Buttercup, but have realistic expectations and say a prayer before you get an extraction.

I have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne (darker skin tone) and some active acne as well. I've never had a facial or a peel in my life but after doing some reading, I decided to get a mild glycolic acid peel. I got the peel facial with Valerie and she was amazing. She was so patient with my questions and she was realistic about my skincare goals. She started me off with a 20% peel. I wouldn't say that my skin looked amazing right afterwards but it looked much better the next day. Even with the ongoing healing, it looks and feels better than before. I have high hopes that continued peels will have a positive impact. Update: My skin looks amazing a week later. The peel really helped with the hyperpigmentation and I haven't had any large pimples. I'm in awe. This has worked much better than any product that I've used. I should note that I also got on the pill a few weeks ago so that could be helping with the pimples as well.

I'm still ecstatic with my experience at Buttercup. I've been seeing Ana monthly for over 10 months and my skin is 110% better. My acne is finally under control (with no thanks to the two dermatologists I'd seen before coming to Buttercup). When I first came here I felt like I had to wear a full face of makeup to cover active acne and leftover hyperpigmentation. I set a goal with Ana that I wanted to go makeup free by the new year--I was able to show up to holidays with my family with glowing, clear skin and zero foundation and concealer!! The best part of the facial is definitely Ana's careful extraction. My face feels clean and my pores feel tighter. I've also done a peel once. It was very good and I was left glowing. Absolutely something I would repeat the week before a special event (with sufficient time to allow for very mild peeling).

I've gotten two deep cleansing facials here so far, done by Eunice, and they have really improved my skin. They are so attentive to what your skin needs and suggest high quality skin care products to help maintain your skin in between visits. The spa is really clean and everyone is very friendly. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and high quality facial.
