The food here is always tasty, the service is quick and friendly and even though it was busy we only waitted about 30 minutes. My wife loved her waffle, my daughter enjoyed her crepe and my chicken salad with cilantro dressing was fresh and filling plus the orange juice was excellent. The place is lively, prices are fair and with new bar seating on the way it should be even better.

I took my grandmother here for her birthday. Music was too loud, server did not seem interested in serving or even being there. The food saved this from being an overall 3 star review... great job in the kitchen; potatoes were crispy , the bacon and waffle cooked to perfection.. the omelet might look a little unorthodox, but it was very good.

We ordered the Berry Bliss crepes, the Whole Hog with upgraded banana creme pancakes to-go, and both were amazing! I know because I tried mine and my husband's. We live in the white mountains and came to the valley for a doctor's appointment. We saw how busy the Butterfield's parking lot was after one of our appointments and decided we'd come back to eat there after our next doctor's visit a week later, which was today. It did not disappoint! This place just got added to our list of places we have to eat when we come down to the valley now. 😊 7/11/25 update Still delicious! This time, I got banana cream crapes. My hubby got banana cream pancakes and the Mexicana omelette. I definitely want to get what he got next time!

We decided to try a new pancake spot on Sunday and only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The service went smoothly and the food was great. The pancakes were sweet and tasty, the portions were huge, and the friendly vibe made it a spot we’d definitely visit again.

If you’re looking for a place with excellent food and outstanding customer service, Butterfields is it! I had the original buttermilk pancakes and the turkey club sandwich, and I was seriously impressed with how good everything was. The coffee is amazing, and the fresh orange juice was just as good. My wife and kids loved it too, and we’ve officially found our go-to breakfast spot here in Scottsdale, AZ. Highly recommend!

Good. But not as good as Snooze or Butters. I got the 2 eggs with protein breakfast. Eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, but I asked for crisp bacon, and it was limp. Also, it's not as flavorful as Snooze. I opted for pancakes as my side, and they were good. They, along with the rest of my meal, came out piping hot. Coffee was bitter as hell - not my favorite. OJ was fresh but not as good as AJs fresh squeezed. Service was ok, but I had to wait for a cream refill for the coffee.

My kids' doctor is near here and we always make it a point to eat here after the appointment. Part of our ritual now and it changes our kids mindset from going to the doctor to getting some Butterfields!!! Savory lovers don't worry the food is all tasty. Some orders even have a side of Pancakes just to dabble in that little slice of goodness sweetness.

We had an outstanding experience at Butterfield’s Breakfast Café in Scottsdale! We visited on a busy Saturday morning, and despite the crowd waiting outside and inside, the hostess was incredibly organized, taking names and phone numbers to text us as soon as a table was ready. The system worked smoothly, and we were seated in a reasonable time. We opted for outdoor seating on the covered patio, which had heaters that kept us warm and comfortable even on a chilly morning. It was the perfect setting to enjoy breakfast. Our server, Alisa Q., was phenomenal—one of the best waitresses I’ve had in the last year! She was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. Our orders came out perfectly, with all condiments included without us even needing to ask. She also handled our to-go order efficiently, making sure everything was ready on time. Now, onto the food—delicious! The pancakes were fluffy and cooked to perfection, and everyone at our table was beyond satisfied with the quality of their meal. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, including the checkout process, which was quick and hassle-free. We left extremely happy and will absolutely be back. If you’re looking for a fantastic breakfast spot in Scottsdale with great service, organized staff, and amazing food, Butterfield’s is the place to go! Highly recommend!

Love the owner , the food and the service . Me and my family love how they are more than willing to add ingredients actually inside the pancakes and not on top ifyyk. We're from Chicago ( the actual city) and take our food and service very seriously. Everytime we've come here it's been nothing less than great. If they were any small mistake they are quick to correct. Also a kid friendly atmosphere , very chill and slightly vibrant. I always get the berry bliss pancakes ahhh so good!

This is my favorite breakfast place. My aunt introduced me to Butterfield's in 2013 when I came to visit. After I moved to Arizona a year later I have been frequenting this place and their other locations as they have grown over the years (Butters Pancakes & Cafe). They have been super consistent for over 10 years with their menu, quality, taste, and service. I bring family and friends here or to one of the other locations when they come to visit. The breakfast is so delicious. My favorites are the pancakes with bacon and New Mexico Skillet. I usually get the skillet with no hash brown and extra Chorizo. The eggs are very good too along with the chicken tenders for lunch. Everything about the food puts me in mind of homemade and I feel so satisfied each and every time I eat here. Very fast paced, lively environment during the peak hours. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about when I was here on Memorial Day was that I was added to the waitlist for my party of three. I was told it would be a five to ten minute wait which was great. Before I sat down in the waiting area I overheard the hostess call a party and asked the lady how long did she think it would be before her other guest(s) would arrive. I didn't hear the response, but took my seat. When my name was called my sister and I got up to meet the hostess and she asked if all of my party was there. I told her we were missing one. She apologized and said she could not seat me until my entire party had arrived. I was unaware of this change from my last visit earlier this year. I didn't understand since she had seated a lady without her full party being there. I chose not to say anything because I was really bothered by it, and just waited for my other person to arrive which was five minutes later. Overall I love this establishment. Whether dining in or taking out, I have never been disappointed with my experience.

Food was fantastic and plentiful. Everything was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive! Will definitely return when in the area again!

Still just as good as ever. The service is awesome, we never have to wait long. Their cold brew is really the beat of ANY breakfast/brunch place around. Their eggs are always fluffy. The pancakes were loaded with blueberries. Reasonably priced. They have a huge dining area, plus a patio in the cooler months. And there's plenty of parking. Great, consistent breakfast spot.

My dad loves pancakes so we came here during one of his visits. He got the Berry Bliss pancakes (wasn't able to get a picture) which he said was good but really sweet with the fruit drizzle and glaze on top. I got the bacon, mushroom, and onion skillet with pancakes and I was impressed. LOTS of food! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and were seated right away. Our server was so nice and attentive. We got our food very quickly and I liked that they gave you water in a carafe so that you could fill up as needed. My coffee cup was never empty but they weren't overbearing with fills. There so are so many tables and I could see how they'd get really busy for a weekend brunch. Private parking lot makes parking very easy. Their menu is extensive so I definitely want to come back to try other things!

Yea, so I'm just here to say that these are the best pancakes I've ever had. So delicious. I wish we had some of these in Orlando. My ONLY qualm is that I had to end up getting French toast instead of pancakes because I wanted the very berry pancakes. However the crepe and French toast version of the very berry breakfast items came with this vanilla mascarpone and the pancakes came with the vanilla mascarpone drizzle but this blueberry sauce layered inbwteeen. I'm not a fan of blueberries so I asked to substitute the blueberries for the vanilla mascarpone in between and they were going to charge me $2 for it. I always think it's weird when restaurants will charge you for a substitution that's of equal or lesser value. So I ended up just opting for the French toast. The waitstaff wasn't rude but definitely wasn't friendly.

Butterfield's and their sister location, Butters are my favorite breakfast restaurants in Phoenix. They have the best pancakes, hands down. They're pancakes are reminiscent of back in the day breakfast food, when parents or grandparents would be in the kitchen cooking breakfast for the whole family. They're so good, I can't really put them into words. If I'm not ordering their pancakes and bacon, I'm opting for their New Mexico skillet, which is also very good. If you don't know, Butterfield's stay BUSY, which definitely means they're good. Their service has always been top tier each time I've dined in. If you're a pancake lover and you haven't tried Butterfield's, you don't know what you're missing out on. Go try them!

Came here on a weekday and it was busy! I just visited the area and found this spot and it was so worth it. The portion is pretty big and my friend and I shared a combo (Popeye scramble and Oreo pancakes). The scramble was one of the best scramble I ever had and the pancake was very fluffy but on the sweeter side. The staff here are very nice and gave us really good recommendations and made our experience even better!

Warning: This is NOT the place for people on a diet. It would be so much torture and make you sad. There are plenty of options for you, but the smell and seeing things would make you crazed. There are plenty (one of the most I've ever seen) of gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, keto, and diet items for breakfast. This is definitely another place visited on Scottsdale trips if I can get there before noon. It is so delicious. Once you are seated, there is already a water container and cups on the table. There are so many options on the menu I always need more time even though though I probably am going to order eggs benedicts (which they have five different choices of). There are so many options to add onto your pancake, french toast, waffle, and crepes like fruit, chocolate, and cinnamon in different arrangements. They have plenty of egg choices and breakfast sides you would see anywhere else. They offer item on their lunch menu like burgers, sandwiches, and salads which is great. Even typing this out is making me hungry.

I love this restaurant ... food is outstanding. Service is very attentive and everyone is so cordial. When I am in the area, I cannot pass it up.

This place is amazing!!! We are from out of town and are so happy we found this gem. Our server Morgan was so sweet and attentive and food was perfect!!! Reasonably priced and would go back in a second!! A must visit!!!

Got there around 9am and the place was packed! We only had to wait 10 mins for a table and it was definitely worth it. The eggs were exquisite you can tell they were fresh. They have maybe the best orange juice I've ever tasted. I'll have to make a trip back to arizona just to go back to this place!

This place is excellent! We went here on a weekday morning since we heard the weekends are really busy and could be a long wait. Excellent service and food for our entire party of 4. We will be back to try all the breakfast items!

We come often, a lot in fact! Today was something I do not understand! I asked to change mushrooms for tomatoes in a Skillet, btw Tomatoes are cheaper than Mushrooms, I was told I would be charged for the tomatoes but not refunded for the mushrooms! Bad bad business decision for a breakfast restaurant! I will no longer come here or will I recommend it to anyone. In fact the opposite I will share my story with anyone who will listen. Maybe I should have asked my ketchup come in whole form of tomatoes?!

Butterfield's makes some of, if not, the best pancakes I've ever tasted! I was visiting and my friend brought me here and I'm so glad he did. We arrived about an hour before closure and only had to way about 5 minutes before being seated and after that, we were attended to and received our food very promptly. The staff was very kind and responsive and made sure to follow up after requesting more time to browse the menu. The atmosphere is very relaxed and neat and the booth was comfortable and spacious. The portions are large and the food is very affordable, which is a huge plus!

It feels worthless to create this review. We all know Butterfield's is amazing, right? I mean, it's been written about thousands of times. Yet, I had watched from the wings for years, waiting for the right moment to finally make my visit. From the waffle lighting to the honeycomb backdrops and ceiling murals depicting pancakes in a way that's reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel cherubs, this place lives and breathes the beauty of breakfast. Our Sunday morning wait was 15 minutes for a 4 top, not bad. Our window booth was comfortable and the temperature of the restaurant was nice and cozy. We sat down and a server popped by to fill our coffee cups before our official server had even come by to greet us, which is saying something because our server was pretty quick. Everyone got pancakes, except me. I was resolute in a 2 egg breakfast with wheat toast. Who did I even think I was? A dummy, that's what. I had a few bites of the pancakes before they disappeared and they were heavenly. Our son had ordered the chocolate chip kids pancakes and they were sprinkled to the nines with mini chocolate chippies. We all commented on the size of our meals being a good size, but almost all of us finished everything. We were ready for a nap right after. I really liked watching how the servers and bussers worked together to help each other out. Grabbing each others' plates or refilling coffee cups, etc. I saw a few servers with arms full of dirty plates getting verbally pulled over to a table for a request and another server would grab the items out of their hands without a word. Very smooth.

This restaurant it turns out threw me out because I was wearing a small knife(in its sheaf never removed). Arizona is a very pro 2nd Amendment state(right to bear arms of all US citizens). This restaurant should be boycotted for being against our 2nd Amendment and all the veterans that died to protect our rights.

Nice breakfast place. Wait time wasn't too bad and service was good. I got the Irish Benedict which comes with Corn beef hash. Love the home fries. I also tried some of wife's pancakes. Really good. Nice and airy. Side of bacon was okay Definitely will comeback when I'm craving some breakfast.

Place was pretty busy when we got there, so we waited about 25 mins for a table. No big deal. Our table was clean, but the floor had not been swept, as there was food I was stepping on to get to my seat. They have a pretty extensive menu, but I was craving a steak and eggs, which they didn't have. I ended up ordering the Irish Benedict and it was pretty tasty. Needed a little salt and pepper, but was a nice twist to a traditional eggs Benedict. We came here specifically for my stepson that has a gluten allergy and he was able to find plenty to fit his restrictive needs. Overall, we enjoyed the food and since it came out pretty quickly, we were in and out in no time. If I didn't live so far, we might actually make this a regular breakfast outing.

This place was amazing. I was visiting Arizona and was traveling with a party of 12 ranging from a one-year old to a seventy-one year old. Every single person in my party was impressed. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Being that it was a weekend and having a large party, we expected wait times over an hour but that was not the case. We were seated decently quickly and served shortly after. The food was delicious. Everything was so fresh, delicious, and unique. I would visit this location over and over.

This is now my go to place for breakfast in Phoenix. Both the pancakes and the eggs, bacon, hashbrowns are really good. One note - their hash browns are more slices of potato and so a bit different. I like normal hash browns better, but these are a close second.

I looked up breakfast while I was in Scottsdale and I chose this spot because it was highly rated. I bought $150 worth of breakfast for my friends and I, but this review is based on my brief visit and what I got to eat only (Classic Benedict) When I arrived on Sunday morning, there were at least 15+ people waiting outside, with another 15+ inside, and a sea of people already enjoying their breakfast. Since I assumed it will be packed on a Sunday morning, I called in the order prior to arriving. I was in and out within 2 minutes with my Togo order. It was prepared in a timely manner as well. I went in when they said it will be ready, and soon as I walked up, it was ready for pick up. No waiting around with the others waiting for seats. I ordered the Classic Benedict which comes with poached eggs, Canadian bacon, English muffin with hollandaise sauce and potatoes that were thinly sliced. It was good to say the least, but I really like how they prepared their potatoes. Potatoes were lightly burnt/crispy, just as how I would have liked it. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 -- based on phone order and ETA given for pickup

Was recommended this place after a doctors appointment at the hospital on Shea. Only 5 min away! Came on a Friday morning around 10:30 and it's was pretty packed but only had a 10-15 min wait. The service was fast and friendly. The food came quickly and fresh! My husband got the grits and loved those. My strawberry chocolate chip pancakes were super yummy! Clean restaurant with average noise. We will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely amazing and delicious! We visited on Easter Sunday and they were busy, but the food was perfection and the customer service was some of the best I have ever encountered! Our coffees never ran out, the waitstaff checked on us and cheerfully attended to us! The only regret I have is that I don't live anywhere near Scottsdale to be able to visit more often, but when we are in town, we will for sure, eat here again!

You can't go wrong with any of the menu items at Butterfield's. I had a veggie omelette with tasty sliced crispy potatoes and gluten free pancakes. I dare gluten eaters to try these pancakes and tell the difference between these and wheat ones. Everything was excellent, the staff were very friendly and service was fast.

Staying at a hotel down the street - we saw this Butterfield's Pancake House during our trips around town and decided to try it. We arrived around 9:00AM on a weekday and were able to go right in to a table. The menu is fairly extensive with many versions of pancakes, waffles, French toast, egg dishes, etc. We had an egg combo and a New Mexico skillet - both were excellent ! The eggs were so fluffy and tasty ! The prices are a little higher than average, but the food is way better than average for breakfast. The service is also excellent ! There are many dishes I would like to try and will on a return visit ! One of the best for breakfast - 5 out of 5 !

On June 14 approximately around 10:00 am I witnessed the District Manager or co-owner at Butterfields do a racist act right in front of me with one of his servers. The young lady had provided excellent and exceptional service to me and my wife along with other patrons at this restaurant. The server just happened to be a person of color and he reprimanded her for not pouring a cup of coffee while his other servers that we white were walking around doing absolutely nothing. This was very sad and the fact that he did it right in front of me and I am Black!!!! He snatched the items that were in her hands and told her to stop what she was doing and immediately pour the coffee for a white customer. He could have poured the coffee himself !!!!!

Very good pancakes!!! We all tried different ones, I loved the chocolate strawberry pancakes. The kids meal was a generous portion. Overall it's a great breakfast spot!

Love love their breakfast/brunch foods! Consistently delicious. Their americanos and lattes are incredible (which is surprising for a restaurant like this). I love their build my own omelette that comes with several choices. I get potatoes and blueberry pancakes. Great service. You only wait 10-30 min for a table even when very busy. No ambiance but not needed when the food is this good! Gluten-free options are wonderful too.

Still holding the top spot for crepes, Butterfields has maintained its excellence while other restaurants have slacked off. Their crêpes are still fresh and perfectly prepared albeit you may have to reign them in on the Nutella if that is on your order. The servers are consistently top drawer. Don't be put off by long lines as they move tables in and out like an I Love Lucy candy factory line.

This review is specifically for a take out order ... I've been wanting to try the pancakes from this place for awhile and finally gave it a shot. 1 star for it only taking 15 min to make, and 1 star for the pancakes themselves. However, I feel like this was a a place with a high expectations that really under delivered ... I almost feel deceived as a customer. I asked if they did a short stack or half portion of their full size bliss pancakes. The hostess who helped me said they did a side order of pancakes, which are 2 instead of 3. I was expecting these massive sized pancakes that other reviews have talked about; however, when I picked up my order, they fit in this small side dish box. For about $11.50, I would not order this again, especially since the full order is only $2 more. Later that day, I called again to inquire about the side order vs full size pancakes and the person who helped me this time said the side came with 3 smaller pancakes and the full size came with 4 bigger size pancakes. Huh? I'm not sure why there is misinformation, but from what I gathered and my order, it seems the side is not only 2 pancakes but also smaller ... would not have bought if I knew this! Not worth $11.50! Maybe it would be if it was the size of the full order of pancakes!

Went for lunch with my wife and we e joyed the meal and had superb service I made the mistake to go to the man's bathroom at the end of my lunch The bathroom wax filthy someone had an accident in the floor were the toilet is I notified the two young ladies at the reception desk and inserted for 15 minutes neither taking the suggestion that the bathroom needed cleaning seriously they just stood there notifying no one Hard for me to u distant shy??? The bathroom is filthy and you are notified so you notify someone at the Testsutant to get it cleaned Sad to witness such disregard and disappointing

Amazing breakfast here. The service is always very attentive, they don't like to let your coffee mug get empty. And it is always clean! My go to order is the baked potato omelet with blueberry danish pancakes. Unbelievably good, and enough for 2 servings. The only drawback is the long wait on weekends, so get there early or try it on a weekday.

If you find yourself in North Scottsdale craving a scrumptious meal then Butterfield's is your place. They serve breakfast and lunch but let's talk about the breakfast fare which is my absolute favorite. All ingredients , batters are made from scratch everyday and you can tell that is what elevates the experience. I recommend the dutch baby if you have the sometime they ask for 30 mins but it's totally worth the wait! The omelettes are generously stuffed, portion sizes are great. Service is friendly and attentive. Ambiance is like a diner with booths and tables . Pro tip It gets very busy on weekends so plan accordingly. Definitely check them out because a good Breakfast sets the mood for a great day. Cheers!

Don't come here if you are handicapped and in a wheelchair. Terrible attitude from the host team. Waited a very long time for a table. People that arrived after us were sat at tables we could have been seated at. When I asked about why it was taking long I got dismissed by the hosts. The host that sat us didn't even wait for us. Just walked to the table and threw down the menus. Terrible service from the host team. Our server and food were great. It's a shame the host team was so awful.

The food in Butterfield pancake house is always superb and mouthwatering!!! the service was perfect and offered coffee and every host was trying to be helpful. The ambience is very casual and everyone feels at home. I love this place and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Oh my goodness...the Dutch Baby is delicious!! This was our first time here and it came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. The food was very tasty and well presented. The service was quick and the server was attentive. This place is busy for a reason.

Very kind and fast service, food was VERY fast and very delicious and felt fresh (just made), and the restaurant it's self was very clean and decorated well. I VERY MUCH reccemend this restaurant!! Food was overcooked, blocks of unmelted cheese in my eggs and the manger decides to take off the hash browns. Keep in mind I had a skillet. Who's gonna eat this mess? Smh

Speed, consistency of food, very good to excellence service. They kitchen puts out high quality dishes that do not disappoint. It's worth the wait on a busy weekend morning.

The atmosphere is laid back,y family and I went on a Saturday morning, it was busy but we waited only 15-20 minutes and it went fast. The service was good, no complaints. As for the food, it was mediocre, nothing to rave about, I prefer the pancakes from Cracker Barrel! They had a lot of Toppings but it wasn't anything great, we also tried the cinnamon bun French toast and it was okay. I live about an hour from this place, it's not somewhere I would frequent, and the price was a lot because the sides are a la carte 2 kids over 10 and 2 adults.

Best pancakes, hands down! This place gets BUSY so go early. Although they are super efficient in service. Loved the strawberry chocolate chip pancakes. Served with warm syrup as well. Sooooo good!

Mom and I always stop for breakfast before we leave Arizona and we're always full by the time we get on the road to head home. Sometimes we wait for a short amount of time, other times a long amount to be seated. Their breakfast is so good. I even tried one of the pancakes consisting of Oreo cookies and s'mores and they taste yummy! I sometimes have one of their scramblers, skillets and omelettes and they're very good as well! The ambiance is good inside the restaurant although I have yet to sit outside. Service is excellent and I wouldn't mind going back again for breakfast.

Love Butterfields. They hire the best servers, and food is constantly great. We drive from Mesa at least twice a month to eat here.
