Buttermilk Cafe

We decided to give Buttermilk a try since we’re not from the area and it looked so inviting—and we’re so thankful we did! The service was top-notch; Fabian was incredibly attentive and helpful. The food? Absolute chef’s kiss—hands down one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. Everything is made from scratch and it shows. If you're in the area and looking for delicious food and phenomenal service, this is where you want to go! We’ll definitely be making it a point to return any time we’re visiting Illinois!

Cute restaurant with amazing food! Had the mountain house skillet with the lemon blueberry pancakes which were both delicious. The potatoes in the skillet are crunchy and salted perfectly, the veggies were tender, and the bacon bits were crisp. The pancakes are probably the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. Lots of flavor in the compote. The pancake itself is fluffy and has good flavor so I'm sure their other pancakes are equally as good. Overall a great breakfast!

This place was PHENOMENAL! Everything was absolutely perfect! The food was so amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. It’s a kid-friendly establishment. My asd toddler even enjoyed his food, which says a lot!! We will have to drive up from Iowa more often just to eat here! 10/10! ⭐️

This is one of my favorite breakfast place 🥞 starting with the location, fantastic coffee ☕ greater service, enormous portions, nicely decorated, one of the best biscuits you can eat, and the most important the personal attention and kindness of the Manager, strongly recommended place, make you a favor and visit this restaurant.

Great breakfast/brunch! Food is good and there's TONS of options - prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly. There can be a bit of a wait, so get on the waitlist 30 mins before you arrive.

This place opens up early for those who are early birds. Very generously portioned dishes, and coffee is in the pot on your table so you don’t have to ask for refill when you want more. Even though this spot is a bit pricey it gets crowded towards 9 am. If you are the lover of peace and quiet, come early.

Decent place, the meat was cooked well done after asking for medium well, the cranberry juice tastes like apple cranberry juice. The server was really nice, just the food was okay

We went there this past Sunday around 11 am. The biggest mistake on our end. The place was packed. We could barely get in to put our name on the list. We were told it will be 15-30 min wait. It was so loud and obnoxious, we couldn't even hear each other speak. We went to another restaurant. We ate and went home. When we checked what was the wait time for Buttermilk, it was still one hr away. That was at 1 pm. This place closes at 130 pm. If we stayed there and waited, we would never get seated. After reading the poor food reviews, I'm glad we didn't wait. Won't attempt to visit again. Ever. Go down the street to Egg Harbor instead. Quiet place and amazing food.
