Yelp
Is 5 stars really the highest rating I can give? Maybe they need to add a few more for places like this. This new women-owned biscuit bakery in Asheville's Upper River Arts District (RAD) is truly amazing and one-of-a-kind. From the interesting interior decor, to the fantastic, friendly service to the incredible food and coffee, innovative places like this are exactly what the RAD needs to usher in its recovery from last year's devastating hurricane Helene and its historic flooding. The biscuits here are without a doubt the best biscuits I've ever had. Sorry, Biscuit Head, there's no contest here. Not even my grandma's biscuits were this good. They are ample sized, golden brown and crispy on the outside and white and flaky on the inside. We had them as breakfast biscuit sammies with egg and cheese, and one with added candied bacon. Both were super good and enough for a filling breakfast before a walk along the French Broad River greenway. Their coffee is excellent as well. Prices are inline with portion size and quality of the food. We got a beautiful fresh strawberry scone with a sumac glaze to go. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm already looking forward to having it tomorrow morning for breakfast with some additional strawberries from our garden. We will definitely be back to try their biscuits with mushroom gravy and their other baked treats. It's also our new go-to coffee spot when in the RAD.
UPDATE: The strawberry scone we got to go was almost as good as the biscuits, which, as I noted in my original review above, are hands down THE BEST BISCUITS EVER.
