I've been wanting to try Butters for a while because I genuinely love breakfast as a meal and this place totally lived up to the hype. They're open from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, offering a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, so it works for early birds and late risers alike.
We went around 10 AM on a Thursday, and the place was still full. It's a decently expanded restaurant (with indoor and outdoor seating) and they do take walk-ins. We had a 15-minute wait for a table for two on a weekday, so I can only imagine weekends being busier ... definitely plan for a longer wait if you're going on Saturday or Sunday.
For food, we ordered the veggie omelette, which comes with your choice of grits, pancakes, hash browns, or fries. My husband ordered one of their specialties, and it was lovely. The pancakes as a side are huge ... genuinely a meal on their own but omg so airy and fluffy! We thought of ordering more, but honestly the portions are so generous that we ended up getting a to-go box instead.
We also ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, a café mocha (this was average) , and drip coffee. The total came to about $50, which I found very reasonable given the portion sizes and overall experience.
The servers were friendly and quick, but it's a very fast-paced restaurant, so don't expect warm, lingering hospitality or lots of chit-chat ... they're efficient and constantly moving.
Overall, a lovely spot, great food, great value, and I'm definitely going back.
