A 24 Hour Itinerary to Eating at the Best Restaurants in Charlevoix’s Baie-Saint-Paul and La Malbaie | Eater Montreal

"For a cozier, late-night vibe I go to sister spot La Louve-Buvette gentille, an 18-seat wine bar that oozes warmth and kindness; its terroir-based small plates feature foraged ingredients — from locally raised pork to a flan made with tea from the boreal forest — the menu changes daily and the carefully selected list of natural wines makes reservations a must." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Marie-Odile was beyond delightful. While we were trying to get over that, the food arrived. It was absolutely fabulous. The Pates Fraiches, Stracciatella may have been the best thing I have ever tasted. Get in your car and go there!

Great food and wine in very casual restaurant in Baie Saint Paul! Interesting sharing menu and wine list has extensive selection of Quebec wines.

Absolutely amazing!! Food was exceptional, based on local ingredients. Menu of about twelve choices, all shareable, every dish blew us away. Best pie I have ever tasted. Good options for wine, with superb suggestions for pairing. Family friendly. Must reserve ahead of time.

There’s plenty of selection to be had in Baie St Paul, but our go-to spot for small sharing plates is this place! It’s always an innovative menu and priced so you can practically order at least one of everything. And this place knows their wine and make great mocktails. Luckily they accept reservations now, so there’s no more showing up and waiting an hour for a party to leave.

5 star experience! Ambiance and setting were very welcoming. From the music, to the seating arrangement and even the bathroom art! Quality of the food was EXCEPTIONAL thanks to the amazing chef 👏🏼, scallops to die for, pasta dish that blew my mind and a baloney sandwich that I wish I would have ordered!! The service was impeccable and wine pairings were spot on! I will be back ☺️

Best dinner experience in Quebec. Worth the trip to come to Baie-Saint-Paul only for this restaurant. Loved the open kitchen concept. Chef David makes amazing dishes. Aldrina (sorry if I got your name spell wrong) was very pleasant and made me one of the best mocktail I’ve ever had! Thank you both for your hospitality. Highly recommended.

Generally decent food, reasonably priced wine, and average service. We did not receive individual plates and so it was very awkward sharing/eating from common dishes that were placed in the middle of the tabletop. We made reservations many weeks in advance. The front room seating is very uncomfortable, as we were given the central high top facing each other. We ended up smelling very highly of the kitchen cooking scent as the open kitchen is not properly ventilated. The arctic char dish was supposed to come with radish, but was instead covered in cauliflower. Mushrooms under toast dish was sadly underwhelming. We also ate the pasta with strong local cheese, and the (overcooked) beef dish, both of which were average/mediocre. On the positive, my favorite dish was the ham in broth. And it was lovely to receive a complimentary pour of local cider on arrival. We had a much, much better experience the next day at the excellent Faux Bergers!

Scrumptious small plates for sharing, with great attention to detail and the most beautiful local produce from Charlevoix. We absolutely loved the attentive service, the cozy vibes and the music! 100% will wait in line to eat here again next time we’re in the area. Ps! Thank you for letting us bring the dog on the terrace! (+ extra points for the heat lamp!)
