What Is Taiwanese Rechao and Its Cultural Significance? - AFAR
"“Taiwanese food is different than Chinese food,” says Chen I-Chin, owner of Buzi Restaurant, a rechao eatery in New Taipei City, southwest of Taipei. Chen calls himself the “godfather of rechao” and claims he was the first to popularize the genre in the 2000s. “We took all the eight major cuisines of China and Japanese food and mixed it all together.”" - Clarissa Wei
Coffee was great and well made, definitely the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t very welcoming, which took away a bit from the overall experience. With warmer service, this place could be much better.

The hot cappuccino packs a punch, with two shots at 6 or 8 ounces. Super-cool colonial architecture. Nice place to chill. Enjoys the young student vibe of 永康街.

Cozy small setting cafe at the alley of the street. It brings a retro/nostalgic ambiance to the mood. Good craftsmanship coffee, nicely done. They serve coffee cocktails too. Suitable for small group (2-3pax) catch up, single travelers and people to work from cafe.

One of my new favorite spots!!! The only thing would be they have no restrooms so will have to leave your stuff there and walk to the nearest public restroom

Lovely small coffee place. The dine-in coffee can in glasses. The flat white tasted really good. Whoever designed the interior must have put some thought and lots of love into it.

Owned and operated by Fang Fang. Beautiful cafe with a very cool European vibe. But dude, it’s the hand dripped coffee that is freshly roasted in the shop. Are you kidding me. The floral notes on the coffee is outstanding. Quite possibly the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had.
I paired it with a handmade cheesecake. Gooooodness. Okay I’ll be back for an espresso drink this afternoon.
This place is the definition of small business in which the owner wraps her love and care into her business.

Very cool atmosphere, just by the street, very casual...
We had a flat white and an iced oat milk latte.
Coffee was good, lots of body and the presentation was nice as well, very neat!
Might be difficult to find a seat during peak time though.
