On the Grid : The Buzz Cafe

"With art-slathered walls, a super friendly staff, an in-house newsletter, a play space in the back, and a menu with something for everyone featuring local, organic, vegan and vegetarian foods, The Buzz has been Oak Park's gathering place and community center for nearly twenty years. Where to Pick Up Picnic Food For Chicago’s Parks | Eater Chicago

"Kribi Coffee, which has locations in Oak Park and Forest Park, took over Oak Park staple Buzz Cafe in 2023. The revamped spot serves locally roasted coffee along with breakfast wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, and salads, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Those who plan two days ahead can also order from an extensive selection of pies. Enjoy the food on the cafe’s patio or at Columbus Park." - Sam Nelson

So sad to see this place completely change. It used to be our fave spot, with the kids’ corner and lots of art on the walls, artsy vibes in general. Now it’s so cold (literally), and very little art left, kids’ corner is gone. Food was fine but not worth the money esp cause the general experience of the cafe is now non-existent. This will likely be our last time visiting.

Lovely warm-feeling and cozy cafe with a variety of breakfast and brunch options. My partner and I both had the salmon toast with different sides. If this isn't the most delicious thing they have, I'd love to know what is, because it was incredible. I got mine with gluten-free bread as they have several options to substitute if you need to. The cappuccino was also delightful. We'll certainly be back again!

I grew up going to the Buzz Cafe, and vaguely remember playing in the back area as a kid. As I got older I still came here, and although I don’t live in Oak Park anymore whenever I come home to visit my family & friends I make it a point to visit my favorite cafe. I don’t know that I’ll come here again which saddens me greatly. I got my usual and I don’t think the quality/recipes have changed, though prices have gone up maybe $3-5 for sandwiches. My main complaint is this place feels soulless now - the once vibrant purple walls are now white, and while art is on the walls, I don’t think any of them were for sale or were local artists. The gorgeous, quirky hand painted (by community members!) chairs are all gone and replaced by generic wood ones. My mom remembers how this was founded as a spot to bring community & art together, and that is completely gone now. When I was here over Christmas (or Thanksgiving potentially) it still had the old good vibe, so all these changes I assume were done in recent months. I know new management promised to keep the spirit of the Buzz Cafe with their takeover, but they failed completely.

This is a cute cafe with a nice variety of drinks and food. Food: Very satisfying and flavorful. Drinks: Wide variety. Coffee is scalding hot, so be careful. Service: We ordered food to go, and while waiting at the table nearest the door (in an empty restaurant), we were informed that the tables were there for in-house diners and that we would "know better for next time." Approximately 5 minutes later, we were asked why we were still there. To which we responded, waiting on our food orders. Needless to say, customer service is a bit lacking. Live Music: We were pleasantly surprised to hear live music during our wait. It gave the location "Peach Pit" vibes circa 90210. Overall: It's cute, with a small town flair. If you're in the area and hankering for some coffee, it's definitely worth a visit. Just be sure to steer clear of the tables if you're not ready to dine in. (I'll get over it, but it warrants a mention 😉)

This used to be one of my favorite places in town; funky, vibrant, bustling. Now it’s so sterile and unfriendly. The menu is notably smaller and all of the baked goods they used to make in house seem like they’re frozen? I came in and ordered a coffee & a muffin and it cost $12?!? And took 19 minutes. I just can’t come back here anymore

Google
We stopped in on a Saturday morning to grab coffee to go. We were asked three times, “Are you dining in or taking out?” The pace was urgent and staff was quite short with us. My friend wasn’t sure what flavors of muffins they had but panicked because the barista seemed exasperated and ended up not getting what he wanted. We were polite and grateful because we knew they were busy, but would have loved a bit more kindness. It’s a great location, had fun live music for a Saturday morning, and the drink hit the spot at a decent price. For take-out, was a slightly anxiety-inducing experience. I’d like to go back for dine-in to maybe be able to enjoy the experience more.

Google
Terrible service it shouldn't taken more then 10min to Have someone come take my order. Especially, when all other patrons had been served. Employees would rather chat than assist a customer. Needless to say, I decided to leave and fo elsewhere after not being assisted for the 10 min I was sitting waiting to have my order taken. And 2 employees saw me at just decided to have a personal conversation instead. Sad, this business needs to better. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Google
Such a staple of OP and the Art District. As a pervious resident to OP, Buss Cafe was my everyday comfort. Buzz Cafe was a part of my life and the one day I unexpectedly am in the area, THEY LET YOU DOWN! Kindly fire the server who displays very crude and direct micro aggressions to the patrons of color. I was witnessed to her ride demeanor when she was taking orders. She didn’t have to ASK ME TO MOVE because I was sitting on the tables waiting for FOOD I PAID FOR. I was a paying customer and left me embarrassed that I just left. Kindly redirect her behavior! Don’t support this business ✌🏾

Yelp
I live me a cute cafe with great vibes. The handsome young man behind the counter was friendly and patience with each of his customers. Someone had giving me a coupon deal for a tuna on pita with a side salad. I also ordered me a hot lavender latte. Come on in and get a buzz of a time. Nice inside sitting area in the back. A nice place to come and enjoy a cup of coffee, latte or grab a bite to eat. Mini outside Patio. Staff was friendly. Service is quick . The tuna salad was favorable and delicious. As well as the lavender latte. A good neighborhood Cafe to support. FYI. If you care about the Earth. Buzz Cafe is Green

Yelp
I like coming in and do love your coffee and pastries, however on Easter morning, it was not a great experience. At 9:15 AM I stopped in and I just mentioned that it was Easter so I was glad Buzz Cafe was open. Some places were closed. The young girl behind the counter just scoffed at me and then paused and said " OKAYYYY". That was it. Rude. Not sure what she meant but in my opinion- awful customer service. She was not the person ringing me up, she was the one who grabbed the coffee for me. Might want to speak to her regarding her manners. Thanks.

Debbie V.

Yelp
The coffee was good, but the food turned out to be inedible. I ordered the vegetarian wrap which contained red peppers, mushrooms and eggs. The eggs were minimal and only on one side of the wrap which left the other half stuffed with red peppers and some mushrooms. It should have just been called a red pepper wrap. The server noticed I wasn't eating it and said she would say something to the kitchen, but never addressed it again, so half of the breakfast went in the trash.

Yelp
I like Buzz cafe but only for things that require me to get in and out. I say this because the cafe is run and operated by teenagers and super young adults. That in itself says enough - they aren't rude or disrespectful. However, their service speaks through their age and representation in the foods provided. tip: If you are going to place an order from the menu, I recommend order your food/ beverage and then returning in 10-15 minutes because it takes a while. Even for the simplest items. Tip: check your food before you leave. They often make many mistakes. They will fix it but again it's another wait. I went here for an egg sandwich and a slice of pie. The pie was provided quickly since it was in the window. The egg sandwich took 15 minutes to make. Literally nothing fancy at all - the sandwich was dry and a bit sloppily made in my opinion. For basic diner food, I didn't expect to pay over $15. For the pricing, I believe they need to improve the kitchen service and wait time. I'd return for something simple but that's it.

Yelp
Haven't been there since it became part of Kribi. I should have suspected something when I walked in at 9 am and there were only 3 other people in there. seemed like a new waitress who didn't have everything under her belt. I ordered a decaf coffee, a Bacon Lettuce Tomato and Avocado with hashbrowns. Wasn't told they don't have brewed decaf and instead received a french pressed espresso/americano which to me always tastes like weak used bath water. But that's just me. No avocado on the sandwich. The bacon was pretty much raw. The hash browns were asked for well done and there was very little brown on them.

Yelp
We ordered breakfast for our medical students. Quiche, croissants, coffee were all spectacular. We have also served their sandwiches and lunches to rave reviews for retreats.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened with this place (I mean I sort of do; new owners took over and let it go fallow) but I mean "what happened" more in a rhetorical "how could anyone let it get this bad?" sense. I've lived nearby for about 3 years and been to Buzz maybe 15 times. It was never capital G Great, but certainly sufferable, and I liked the granola-y vibe that reminded of a rustic breakfast place in a college town. The last (and final) time I went, my wife and I stood by the "wait to be seated" sign a good 15 minutes. I should note I did a few years in the service industry. Hosted, waited tables, I know the drill. They were busy but by no means should have been in the weeds. Plenty of open tables, plenty of staff. We were getting the invisible treatment from everyone working. Eventually we were sat, but then a new wait begun for menus etc. At a certain point it was sunk cost for time, so we wanted to persevere, but finally up and left after 15 minutes. This is the type of place that feels like an inexperienced teenager would manage. Add in the fact the food is 5/10 at best, and that Publican is around the corner...no reason to ever go back.

Yelp
This place is within walking distance of our son's home in Oak Park. We love to spend time on Harrison, so we stopped in for lunch with a toddler and an infant and the server handled that with tremendous ease. She brought his meal out quickly and his PB&J was enormous. I don't think I've ever seen so much peanut butter and jelly on one sandwich! He was one happy guy! I had the southwestern grilled chicken wrap with fruit and thought it was great. Very filling and very fresh with good flavor. I would order it again. Hubby had the Buzz Egg Sandwich and thought it was very good - he wouldn't change a thing! The place was packed with families, young couples and plenty of others all just enjoying good food, good service and good company. They have an outdoor patio in the back; however, that was closed the day we were there, so I didn't get to check it out. I'm sure we will be back!

Yelp
I visited Buzz Cafe on a weekday afternoon. The cafe is located on a side street, off the arts district. The interior was indeed full of art, from the ones hanging on the walls to the colorful mix and match tables and chairs. When I went, it was neither busy nor desolate but it took a while to get seated and get service. The staff seemed nice. The menu listed breakfast and lunch offerings along with a variety of standard drinks. The descriptions looked good. I ended up ordering the daily special: Chance's Bowl - hash browns, Swiss [cheese], garlic grilled mushrooms, two eggs, sour cream. I also ordered a spiced hot chocolate (thinking it might be somewhat like Mexican hot chocolate with warming spices or maybe a house blend of spices). What happened in reality was lackluster (even that is a generous description). The daily special of hash browns contained a deli slice of cheese that did not taste like Swiss cheese. There was no salt or seasoning on the hash browns; and no salt on the table. There were no grilled mushrooms or any hint of garlic. Two eggs were present but unremarkable and unseasoned. A dollop of sour cream sat there in a paper cup, hoping to be the most exciting thing on the plate. And a few thin slices of fruit were supposed to make it look better or make me feel better. Maybe both. The "spiced" hot chocolate ($4) tasted like a powder mix with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some canned whipped cream. Was the daily special worth the unadvertised $14 price? Definitely no. I could've made this much better myself at home. Maybe I shouldn't have taken a chance on Chance and ordered from the regular menu or checked Yelp for tips. The cafe might be enjoyable if you're not picky about what food you'll actually get. The interior is artsy and fun. I may not purposely go back but maybe there's hope that it will be better on a different day.

Yelp
Overall eccentric fun vibe, I wish the food mirrored this a bit more. Basically I'd say Buzz/Kribi is upper mid. It's good enough, but nothing to write home about or keep me coming back often. Prices are decent for Oak Park, so that's a plus. I've also had some great pastries from the front counter, but I'm not sure if those are made there or if they deal with another vendor for baked goods. I'm giving an extra star for service. The service I've found to be very friendly. The first time I went in, we talked with the (owner/server?) for 5 minutes, she was great. Everyone else has been great the past 5 times I've gone. Overall good breakfast spot that won't break the bank, and great young staff.

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
Buzz cafe is cute. Nice neighborhood breakfast spot. Their bacon is really good. The staff super nice. Few vegan options. They also have a coffee bar up front. Even if there is a wait, it's not to bad of a line

Yelp
Buzz Cafe is a solid spot in the area and in some ways they excel, but I've had some uneven experiences (though I'm still coming back!). My first order at Buzz was great - my food was made well, was quite tasty and service was fantastic! Other orders have been somewhat hit or miss - all of the food is delicious and well made, it's more of either a misunderstanding of the menu or maybe I'm just not ordering properly. The sandwiches/wraps have always been good. Especially the southwestern one. However, once I ordered a salad with chicken and we got what seemed to be a tiny side salad with a side of chicken. Now, this could have been my error as I ordered by phone while in the car and I wasn't looking at the menu... the food was delicious, just super tiny portions. On another order, my salsa was just a super tiny container...I wouldn't call it a cup, it was enough for just a few drops. Again, this could be my error but it's enough to make me scrutinize the menu next time. Staff is always super friendly and I think they buy quality ingredients and cook them well - I'll just need to pay more attention I guess or ask more questions about portions when ordering. Cute spot as well and near cute shopping options.

Yelp
I believe this is now a Kribi Coffee. Coffee is great, and the food items are also very good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I've gone in to order coffee and then sat down at the tables and wait staff has come up to me and told me that the tables are for order/dining-in. Where are we supposed to sit, especially when it's cold out? There are only a handful of tables outside. Overall great coffee and food but confusing policies.

Yelp
When it's good it's good BUT There is no consistency Kitchen staff does whatever they feel like, so order requests/dietary restrictions are completely ignored.

Yelp
Thought we were going to be able to find a nice little breakfast spot, for our Sunday wake and bake walk. Everything was decent except for the wait time for our food and then getting cold food. It was like they forgot about it then still tried to serve it us. The wait staff was polite at first when we requested our food be taken back since it was cold and they said sure thing. But after waiting another 25 minutes we decided to leave and just pay for the coffee that we consumed. Then some of the wait staff became annoyed and had snide remarks to say because we refused to pay for food didn't receive. Needless to say we won't be returning. Thankfully other workers with cooler more mature minds asked if we were being refunded and we explained we just wanted to pay for the coffee and they just let get the coffee for free. Kudos to them. 3/10 wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
I live a few blocks away so we go at least once a week. Weekdays, weekends and at a variety of times. The coffee is great and food is delicious. 50% of the time they get your order wrong, so as long as you are not picky, you will have a pleasant experience. Customer service isn't great. I just generally feel I am inconveniencing them by being there.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, unique and fun atmosphere. My go-to favorite is the cheesy egg sandwich- delicious!

Pamela J.

Yelp
I've lived in the neighborhood 10 years, stopping at Buzz. Seeing some irritating things but this last visit made me write this review. The coffee and hot choc has been mediocre the past 18 months - I had hoped with new ownership it would improve but no. Seriously, even a measly half-pump more chocolate would make this a decent cup. Right now it's flavorless. But the reason for this review: Buzz upcharges $2 for alternative milk per drink. Really?? This is bordering on discrimination for people who cannot drink cow milk. We will no longer come here due to this upcharge and the mediocrity we get in return. This is your neighbor talking, Buzz and Kribi, a family of 4 patrons!!!
google avatar

Yelp
It's convenient for stoping by for coffee and a quick to go baked item. I got brunch here today and my food took an hour to get out and my French toast had an eggshell on it. I wouldn't be coming here for the food because of the service or quality of food but will continue stopping by for the drinks.

Yelp
I visited Buzz mid day on a weekday. The pastry selection was good, and they have a full menu and wait service. Unfortunately, the chai was very watered down. The ambiance would have been okay, except there were about 5-6 staff plus someone who seemed like their boss, yelling to one another the entire time. All of the patrons were trying to quietly work, yet the employees were loudly talking to each other from across the cafe. They were loudly gossiping about other coworkers, and counting out tips/cash in the open where I was sitting. I wouldn't return due to their behavior.

Yelp
Thus morning; I had a taste for some pancakes. Thankfully; I made it just in time for breakfast. My server Alex was delightful. She's very personable. After reviewing the menu; I was also pondering the breakfast wrap. Therefore; she was patient and understanding. Buzz cafe is known to great food and want to order everything off the menu. Each time I'm greeted with warm smiles. The staffs are great. The owner loves her customers so much that she always off samples of dishes while waiting ( carry out only lol). The ambience is cool, live, full of energy. This is a great place for the family dates, mom dates , business lunches and just for chilling. The outdoor area is great. The place is located in the heart of oak park. The food is wonderful!!! The coffee is dynamite!! I recommend this place

Yelp
We've been going to Buzz for the last 15 years. It's a cozy spot with great ambience. Recently we stopped ordering their food because quality and service went down and stuck to coffee and take-out pastries. Today I ordered a mocha and it was pretty horrible. The milk was lukewarm and it tasted like wet socks. I had to dump it. It's like the mocha wasn't done correctly. I'm hoping it's a new person learning the ropes and gets better or gets reassigned a different role. Hopefully Buzz invests in training its staff and works on delivering consistently on its service, food, and drinks. Otherwise if this is the norm, it's sad to say but we may have to part ways as there are better options.

Dianne O.

Yelp
Service was subpar: there's a middled aged woman who smells like cigarettes and ash who has an attitude. Ambiance was: tables are shaky and sticky, the place is dirty and the parties are old. This is less of a cafe feel and more if a low level restaurant.
google avatar

Siobhan D.

Yelp
I like the outdoor seating in the summer months and that the Buzz hosts community talks and music sessions, like the Farmers Market folk music crew. It is a convenient location to meet up with someone who is coming out from the city. Free parking. Good food, plenty of healthy and vegetarian options. Nice bakery treats. Casual decor. The tables are close together, so not ideal for private conversation, but nice for a social outing.
google avatar

Megh L.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times when in Oak Park. When I got there this last time, it wasn't busy/full. I sat down at a table but was told to move to a smaller one since it was just me. Mind you, no one sat at the larger table during the whole time I was there. I was in a tiny table in the middle of the cafe. Anyways....I just ordered tea. I think they didn't want to deal with me because I only ordered tea. Staff was kind of dismissive. I do like the vibe in here and the tea was very good. I'd say just a more friendly and attentive staff would push me to a higher star rating.
google avatar

Niki R.

Yelp
This place looked adorable from the outside, with paintings all over the walls and friendly staff. Pre COVID I would have definitely come here to study. I tried their hazelnut latte and rice krispy treat. Their coffee was pretty bad. It tasted as if the milk had spoiled and it was hard to swallow. I did come later at night so maybe they were low on supplies or something? The rice krispy treat was great though! It was soft and moist but still had a nice chewy texture to it. The icing on top and the peppermint added such nice texture end flavor to the whole thing so it didn't get boring. I'd come back for the food but probably won't get coffee from there again.

X B.

Yelp
Pretty good espresso. The staff is great. The food is hit or miss. The guy running the place, Andrew, was a dick, so -2 stars. Maybe he's not a dick all the time, I don't know.
google avatar

Derrick P.

Yelp
They've captured the organic, arty neighborhood vibe spot on! Colorful chairs, lot of art on the wall, and the place has a warm, inviting feel. The food doesn't quite match the atmosphere, at least for breakfast. I've been having breakfasts here when I've been in town over the past 5-10 years and it's good, not great. Service is sometimes great, sometimes not so great. Still, it's one of my favorite places in Oak Park in its charming way, and I look forward to coming back many more times.
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
Tried the blt and bacon jam burger and they were amazing! Great bakery too! They require masks and I felt very safe.

Scott P.

Yelp
Very disrespectful behavior from the owner. I was embarrassed, shocked, and angered by the behavior of him towards a customer. I have been a tri weekly customer for years. I will not be back. We love having you as a part of our community and the service you provide. Unfortunately his behavior reflected poorly on himself, the establishment and our community.

Yelp
Cute place to stop! Coffee was really good and there muffins are worth a try, delicious!

Yelp
The coffee was good but my pastry was stale. Very stale. This is the second time it's been that way. For 5 bucks you'd think you'd get something fresh. Prices are a bit high as well.

Yelp
I like the Buzz Cafe and I really like that it's a local business started by really nice people. The food is good. I typically go for breakfast and I usually get the Southwestern Breakfast burrito. It's very good as are their pastries. The one issue I have is the coffee. I'm not a fan. I really love coffee. I drink a lot, made at home and purchased. I have visited a lot of coffee shops. I want to like their coffee because I like everything else but no go for me. Someone else may enjoy the flavor so please don't let this deter you from visiting. They do also have a lot of events which you can find in the Buzz Cafe newsletter.

Sopla R.

Yelp
Chipped plates. it's never acceptable and a owner/cook/server who doesn't notice this? I get this is a super casual little neighborhoody cafe and vibe. The food we had was decent. So its a shame about everything else +server we had was a bit too slow and there were only like 2 tables in the entire place at this time.. he was kinda rude to boot. Not really going to make an effort to come back.

Rob H.

Yelp
Might wanna give a pound of chicken salad when someone orders a lb to go. Especially @$15/lb. cmon.

Evan D.

Yelp
Living just a few blocks away and wanting to support a local business, for better or worse my wife and I have repeatedly given Buzz Cafe the benefit of the doubt, especially as new ownership took over. I'm sad to say that we are done trying. The final nail in the coffin was my wife ordering quiche, which was labeled as a vegetarian option. My wife does not eat red meat, and what do we find in the quiche? Pork. How could you be so careless when it comes to people's dietary restrictions? Beyond that, service has always been terribly inconsistent and is seemingly run by a revolving cast of teenagers. I've waited ~15 minutes at a time multiple times for a simple latte, only for it to be poorly made. I'm done trying their stale/tasteless pastries. I could give an even longer list of times I've been underwhelmed or just flat out disappointed by Buzz Cafe. I hate writing such a poor review for a local business, but they truly need to get their act together.

Yelp
Just when I thought that Logan Square was the location in Chicago metropolitan area where the hipsters hang out and there are swanky cafes that others in the city envy, I discover Buzz Cafe. The coffee is always on point. And I have always enjoyed the food. The tofu scramble is my all-time favourite and I have yet to have it prepared better at any other restaurant, period. The burgers are also great; thankful that they do not squirt grease when you bite into them. I have not tried the desserts or been to the restaurant whenever there have been performances. Those are two things I will have to add to my list to do with respect to Buzz Cafe. I know I can't go wrong with their coffee or tofu scramble in the meantime.

Yelp
Quirky. Quaint. Good food. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or staying for dinner, I don't doubt that you'll have a positive experience. I'll admit that the food isn't the best part but I've also never had BAD food from here. They have a multitude of healthy options (Gluten free, organic, etc) and the friendly service helps it not feel too pretentious. What's also cool is they sometimes hold small events like open mic nights or book readings. I feel like if you were to choose a place to represent the attitude of Oak Park, it would be Buzz Cafe (especially the arts district.)

Lisa B.

Yelp
I'm giving this a full five because it's totally deserved. I've lived just around the corner from this spot for 2 years, but because Covid made me weird, I just rarely go out to restaurants. Let me tell you, as of today that's a mistake I won't be making again. Don't sleep on this place, it's super charming, the staff is very friendly and warm, and THE FOOD...YOU GUYS!!! I wasn't expecting much, but I was so hungry and didn't have time to cook. I had the breakfast veg/bean "burger" with salad for brunch and it was so ridiculously, exceptionally good. The burger is accompanied by loads of avocado, a PERFECTLY cooked fried egg, on a perfect brioche bun. What a delight! Will visit again ASAP. Good job, you little hidden jewel.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop just a stones throw away from the Austin blue line stop (Lombard entrance). Stopped by just to grab a quick ice coffee before jumping on the blue line to head back downtown. My iced coffee was pretty watered down and mediocre at best, but I was definitely intrigued by the artsy rustic interior and some of food I had eyed going by. Probably a good spot to grab breakfast or lunch it seemed. But for now, you will remain a 3 star review for my average iced coffee. 'Til next time, cheers!

This small place is wonderful. I loved the art on the walls and Saturdays mornings they have a live ban. The food choices are very interesting. Unfortunately I just had the hot Mexican chocolate which was so good. The staff is very friendly. I can't wait to come back and eat more.

Yelp
Our family lives in Oak Park and we support local establishments as often as possible. We have been to Buzz a handful of times over the past few years, but yesterday we had a second experience of our order getting "lost" - i.e. the waiter didn't put it in. How do I know this? After ordering and waiting 25 minutes for our food, the waiter finally came over (didn't approach our table for that full 25 minutes of waiting) to say that one of the daily specials we ordered is taking longer than expected. We had two very hungry children, so we asked them to bring out their food right away. BTW - how can a daily special take so long? 5 more minutes go by and our kids food is still not out. That's when I knew they were scrambling to make our food. At this point, I was raising my hand and asking in a loud voice for the waiter's attention, but he ignored us! So, another waiter (maybe the manager?) came over and tried to apologize. All I wanted was for him to be truthful, but he would not credibly explain what happened. So, we got up and left. He tried to offer us a free meal, but by that point I had lost my appetite and it would have been uncomfortable to stay. Let me restate: This is the SECOND time this has happened to our family at Buzz! What are the odds? Think twice before supporting Buzz unless they make some major changes.

Yelp
Been coming here for over a decade. Always order breakfast (because as advertised: "all day every day"). Came in at 11:00 AM today, Saturday, for brunch. Opened the menu, yep Breakfast "all day every day". As I order the server immediately says "oh, we're not doing breakfast all day". What?!?! She indicated the policy had changed, the menu and advertising had not. Too bad. Loved this place. Referred it to many. Fortunately we left and found another local joint that does serve breakfast "all day every day". #badforbusiness

Yelp
My family came here to eat for lunch on a Monday afternoon. It wasn't too busy - just the way we like. The three of us ordered their cheeseburger which was pretty good. My sister and I had a side salad which we enjoyed, Hubby had a side of fruit. My 2 yr old toddler had their cheese pizza in the kids meal with fruits. He enjoyed it. Cute, artsy place. After lunch my son wanted to play in the back with the toys. I like how they have a kid play area - definitely a great addition to the restaurant. Overall we had a good time. I would say the prices are a bit high for the entree we ordered, though.

Yelp
We tried Buzz Cafe today and brought our toddler and baby with us. Service was excellent and they were so sweet with our boys. I love how family centered it is and it was great to meet the owner and her son. The quiche was the best quiche around! We will be coming back frequently!

Yelp
Attended an acoustic jam at this cafe this morning from 7 to 10 am. This cafe has a variety of coffees and teas and pastries. There may be additional items on the menu but I just ordered a poppyseed lemon bread, which the staff member informed me was just made in house. It as excellent and paired well with my chamomile tea. The cafe has a cute artsy folksy urban vibe. The jam took place in a cozy seating area in the back of the cafe, which was set apart from the dining area and had couches and a coffee table. There is original art for sale on the walls. The bathrooms were clean. The service was great. The food was yummy. This place creates a real community feeling. I'll be back!

Yelp
I went here the other night with my ex. I ordered the a grilled cheese, and actually really liked it! I tried to be healthy and get fruit as my side. That being said, I do believe that the portion sizes are a little small for the price, but that's okay. I like the feel of this place - the walls are covered in art and it looks almost more like an art gallery that decided to last minute add food. The dessert selection looked so good!

Yelp
Disappointing experience for the price. Although the service was decent, a member of the serving staff was wiping their nose with their hand. Gross. The place is filthy and the dishes are all chipped and stained. The food was so horribly put together it reminded me of my high school cafeteria. Really? Any positive review of this place has to come from someone in the neighborhood or someone who did not eat there. I commend them for supporting the arts community, but it is also to their benefit. Reviews of restaurants should not be based on self-promoting charity, but on service, atmosphere, food, and overall value.

Yelp
It's okay. I'm mainly disappointed about the portion for the price. Its cute and eclectic and maybe a bit messy. From what it looked like and its interiors I wasn't expecting most of brunch menus to be over $10 so was surprised. I feel like there are plenty of better options in terms of atmosphere, portion, price, just maybe not around the neighborhood. Food was tasty. I had quiche which is only available on Sundays but disappointed at the size. Supposed to be a $7.95 dish. Coffee was pretty good. I would prefer if it was order at the counter and get food your own when food came out. Not really worth tipping at this kind of place imo. There are many more pleasant places to eat brunch for the similar price point. Again, okay food but I wouldn't be coming back. I don't eat out that often as I enjoy home cooking so I'm very selective of where I eat out.
