Yelp
Mic check, mic check. Hey, is this thing still on?
I'm dusting off the good old Yelp account three years later to write a long-overdue review for one of my favorite new watering holes. Buzzworks is, hands down, my vote for the best taproom in the city.
They have 40 rotating taps, and a huge screen that lists all of the current taps, divided by beer style. Find one that sounds intriguing, but you're not sure you want to commit to a full glass? No problem, your friendly bartender (and they are ALL friendly, no snobs here) will gladly pour you a taster and give their personal opinion on the brew. They will take your preferences into account when giving recommendations too. With over 100 bottles in their massive refrigerator, you're sure to find one of your favorite standbys if you're not on the adventurous side.
They've branched out a bit, food wise, with their new NFL brunch menu, and I couldn't be happier. Previously, they only had small bar snacks: nachos, a meat and cheese platter, etc. My North Carolina style pulled pork bbq slider was fantastic, heaping with pork, a vinegary coleslaw, and served on a brioche bun with chips on the side for only $5. I had a delicious soju bloody mary to wash it all down, garnished with a spicy pepperoni stick and half a salad on the celery. They only have a beer and wine license, so vodka was not an option.
They were my headquarters for the Olympics, and you'll likely find me parked at the bar every Sunday for football. - look for the girl in the Broncos hat! You'll find some good natured football fans cheering on their teams (and lightheartedly ribbing others). They show as many games as possible on their gigantic screens above the bar. I think I counted 7 games being shown all at once.
Get out of your comfort zone, and give this place a try. You won't regret a moment of it.
