The 20 Best Restaurants In Hoboken 2024

"Bwe Cafe has two locations in Hoboken, both of which have ample space for camping out with one of their seasonal lattes and your laptop. Their cold brew is some of the best in town, and there’s a solid collection of pastries if you want to meet up with a coworker you actually like over a chive and cheese scone. The newest location on Adams Street is attached to a pop-up retail space and satisfies every urbanite's three most primal needs: good coffee, pantry staples, and plants." - anne cruz, kerry smith, marissa lamastra, michael sinatra

This place was awesome. I was very surprised that we got this tuna avocado sandwich on this pillowy bread for $11. It was a big portion, and came with a generous side of vegetable chips. The matcha latte we got was delicious, it was subtly sweet, with good matcha flavor. The cafe is very cozy and inviting. There was a lot of seating. I liked that there were available books for anyone to read. It's a great neighborhood cafe

Google
Excellent coffee, friendly service and lovely ambience. A lot of people here with their laptops so seems like a good place to work out of. There’s also plenty of space and different seating areas. They have a corner with kids’ books. They also sell paintings and other things in their gift store.

This is our favorite spot with my friend, the staff is super friendly and helpful. I really appreciate how affordable everything is, and they serve delicious food and drinks!”

Google
Plenty of space. 8/10 for working on a laptop here. Good coffee. Silent enough. They also have a loft. Good vibes. Internet speed good enough to work. High ping though.

Google
I’ve tried the best coffee shops all around the world and this one is WOW!! Such incredible coffee. I got the hot vanilla latte two days in a row. They also have strong wifi and lots of space for my fellow work from home people. Their kitchen is closed on Mondays though :(

Google
Spacious, power outlets, overall great place to relax and recharge. Lavender cold brew with unsweetened macadamia milk: okay, wish i had gone for blueberry option instead. flat white: okay banana bread: good sugar cookie: okay Tomato mutz: great! Couscous bowl: wonderful. Would eat again

Google
This is one of the top coffee spots for me in Hoboken. The coffee quality definitely stands out in this neighborhood. There are three locations in this area and this is the one with the loft look and being the most spacious one. They have outdoor seating under the Viaduct, which is a plus on a sunny day! The last visit was during the lunch hour, the oily smell overcame the coffee aroma if any. A little disappointed with the indoor air. Need some improvement on the ventilation!

Google
Really cute coffee place. Lots of seating available. The ambience is very chill, the staff also is very friendly. There are little nooks and corners to catch up on reading or just getting some work done. Got the lemon poppy seed cake - was really good! The coffee was average - I would come back for the named plants and aesthetic.

Yelp
I did not try the food so I cannot rate based on food, but the coffee and the hot chocolate were both good. The service was good as well, the barista was friendly and answered all my questions without seeming annoyed. They had live music which is why we originally went. Really talented artist- Javian. The event was great. The café overall is beautiful inside and very spacious. The art decor is really cool. It definitely has a hipster/artsy, "We love all kind of vibe". I would definitely go back and try the food next time. The options looked pretty good.

Yelp
Seriously, this cafe deserves a higher rating. It is my go to spot for lunch and work on the weekends. The upstairs area is perfect for working, reading, or catching up with friends. Their green salad bowl with an addition of smoked salmon is my hyper-fixation. I like to chop everything up and mix it well before piling it on the bread provided. The olive tepanade adds great umami to the dish. Last week, there was also a coffee pop-up where friendly coffee roasters from Columbia were kind enough to explain all about coffee and how beans are processed!

Yelp
Ordered: Large Iced Lavender Latte (~$7): with oat milk Matcha Loaf (~$4) Aya's take: If you're searching for the best Iced Lavender Latte in town, look no further because I've found it at bwè cafe! I'm a lavender latte connoisseur and everything about this was perfect. The lavender was prominent in every sip and gave the latte those floral notes I love. The espresso was also good quality and overall, it was silky, smooth, and not too sweet at all. If you like lavender, you will love this. Highly recommend! The Matcha Loaf tasted like a plain loaf of cake. I tried so hard to taste the matcha and I honestly couldn't. I would skip this next time. Super spacious with tons of natural light which I loved. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Came about 10am on a Saturday and they were very busy. None of the employees smile, or are very friendly. Literally none. We bought a bag of beans, a latte and a flat white, a breakfast sandwich and an avocado toast. They all came out relatively quickly, despite how many people they were preparing for. I was disappointed that although they gave the food on plates, the drinks were in disposable cups. We were lucky to find seats after we ordered. The avocado toast was very difficult to eat or cut. The center of the bread was very soft but the crust was impossible. The salad was just covered in oil. The coffees were a 5/10. Very thin and the almond milk was quite sweet. Although I visited bwe at another location in the past, I won't be coming back again.

Yelp
We really enjoy this spot! Good coffee and good food. Their Breakfast Sandwich ($7.5) was a bit weak (bland) with just croissant, egg and cheese, so I took a star off, but otherwise no complaints. If you sign up through their rewards program, you also get a free coffee drink on your birthday!

Yelp
My friend and I go to the Farmers Market almost every Saturday and end our outing with a visit to bwe. The baristas make a really good latte. Iced tea is available in black, green and flavored. They have a good selection of pastries. I like pistachio lemon mini cake and this week I had a delicious cheddar apple scone. The cafe has indoor seating and an area for families with children as well as outdoor seating. Near the exit, they have an add-in station where they have several types of milk/cream and sweeteners, stirrers, etc. The cafe is clean although the add-in station sometimes gets messy on a busy morning. Service is inconsistent mostly due to the capacity of their espresso machine. This Saturday the line to place an order was out the door. When there's something going on under the viaduct, the line gets long and seating may not be available.

Yelp
Bwe is literally my favorite coffee shop. I have To say that they have some of the best tasting coffee. I usually get a cappuccino with almond milk and for whatever reason the baristas on Washington street make a better cappuccino than this location so that's why I took off one star. I have not had a perfect coffee from the Adams Street location as yet. However what I love about this location is it's size and the food options. This location is much bigger but still has the cozy coffee shop feel. There's ample space for those with a laptop and those that just want to have conversations over coffee with a friend. The fact that they have food options and not just pastries is a plus. I had Salmon Toast recently that was just what I needed to start my day. This location is perfect in the cut off the beaten path away from traffic. I'll continue to visit and hope for a better cappuccino.

Yelp
Good coffee and service! The place is very pretty with lots of seating. There is food available like sandwiches and salad. There are two restrooms and was busy on the weekend.

Yelp
Great coffee, great service, great healthy choices, great community focus. My favourite place to work or hang.

Yelp
First time visiting this location! It's pretty big, they had a lot of tables and chairs plus a couch area to lounge and an area upstairs... when we walked in we weren't sure where the line was!? We each ordered chocolate croissants and drinks! We tried hot chocolate, cold brew and almond milk chai latte. I always like the chai lattes at the Washington location and these are the same. Line moves quick and quality is good- would recommend!
google avatar

Khyati V.

Yelp
This is probably the cutest coffee place I have been to. The lemon poppy seed cake was SOOO GOOD! Great ambience, chill vibe. There also a space to work upstairs. And the named plants were a hilarious touch!

Yelp
Bwe on Adams is one of my favorite breakfast/coffee spots in town. The latest addition to the chain, Bwe on Adams has a full kitchen and a massive space + in-house flower shop. The shop has very cool Australian vibes and outdoor seating in the summer. It's located uptown, close to everything and is a must visit!
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Iced vanilla latte with whole milk was quite exceptional along with the breakfast sandwich that they have to offer with a croissant cheese egg was scrumptious and make sure to get the Sriracha sauce because it's out of this world.

Sarah C.

Yelp
This place is a vibe~ really cute! There's a small space instead of the bookcase~ a shop with flowers

Makala N.

Yelp
Super cute inside! A lot of seating. Was really busy but they were still very quick. Would definitely go again

Yelp
Lovely cafe tucked away under the viaduct. It's a rather large space which has two levels - tables inside on the ground level as well as upstairs and outdoor seating based on the weather. The advantage is that since it's under the viaduct, it's protected from the rain if not the wind. It's pretty well frequented and they have a decent menu for both breakfast and lunch. I ordered the Cous Cous Bowl which was absolutely phenomenal! It comes with two thick slices of freshly baked toasty bread slathered in a to-die-for Olive Tapenade! Fantastic melange of flavors and textures with a perfectly soft center half boiled egg! It was very filling and I wouldn't have finished it if it wasn't so, so good! They also have a little shop tucked away in the corner which has a nice selection of trendy looking items.

Yelp
Extremely clean and beautiful facility. I have been to the location on Washington too. The drink wasn't as good as the first time I had it. I think I got the end of the cold brew because there were grounds in my drink. The staff also just didn't acknowledge me really. They just wanted me to place the order and leave. Maybe I just got them at an off day. It was Monday mid day and it wasn't super busy and it was a beautiful day. They also recently renovated and there is plenty of space and room. Love the style of it. The retail area is super cute, just very expensive. Overall it's a convenient location and on the way to Lincoln tunnel from Hoboken!

Yelp
I've been to the Washington location and I'm so happy they opened a north end location! Finally was able to visit and I got a hot chocolate, as usual. I got mine with skim milk. It was sweet and delicious. Definitely kept me warm in the really cold weather. The staff are extremely friendly. The customers were even kind. The interior is so pretty and big. There are two floors I believe. There is seating on the first and on the second, but I think both are closed now. There's a Little City Books INSIDE of the cafe! What more could you ask for? I also love the touches of flowers. They are also selling some products that you see when you walk in. I noticed natural soaps and repurposed cups. There's a lot more of a selection but I couldn't stay for long to check it out. Definitely returning to try something else!

Yelp
It's a coffee shop. Honestly not worth going out of your way for. The service is good, I have no real complaints. The drinks are mid. They do have a cool loft area that was pleasant to sit in, which was nice.

Yelp
Love this spot to work. Coffee and pastries are great. The ambiance is comforting and lively. I recommend the hot and iced latte!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing cafe. Baristas have great energy, serving up equally excellent coffee and hospitality. One of the best speciality coffee shops in the area that hardcore yelpers love to rave about. Their coffee roaster, Evan, has a Colombian drip which is top notch, can't get enough! Really unique shop layout with lots of things to check out after you grab your coffee too. Lots of folks recommend this shop and its no wonder why. A must visit!
google avatar

Nancy L.

Yelp
Awesome space and great energy. My go to spot now when I need a coffee and can chill for a sec or meet a friend

Yelp
Adorable little cafe. Delicious food and coffee. We ordered mochas, banana bread, and the Salmon toast. Everything was perfect, our favorite being the toast. We had never had anything like the salmon toast before and now we're obsessed. Since we live across the country from bwè kafe we attempt to make it ourselves to satisfy our craving for it!

Yelp
the wait for #BweKafe - North End to open its doors was worth it! As a loyal Bwè customer I was overjoyed at the news that they were opening their 3rd location (even closer to me). This is a beautiful cafe --the design team really went over the top with all the details. As you walk in, you'll notice that Bwè teamed up with Park & Bloom and Little City Books. Lattes, books, flowers? What more can you want? There's also lots of food and pastries. (I love the triple chocolate brownie). There is plenty of seating (two floors)- communal tables, smaller tables, and individual stools that face the window. The best part of Bwè for me is the dedication to amazing customer service and continuing to serve great quality drinks. I never sign up for newsletters but Bwè always has things going on for everyone in the community.

Connor F.

Yelp
Everything is amazing, seriously. All the lattes are great and the bakery items as well as the sandwiches. Specifically the Adams St location.

Yelp
Great tasting, smooth espresso (Americano to be exact) one of my favorite shops to get my americano not only the ambiance but the great smooth tasting espresso. Also I love the reward card; for every drink you buy, you get a stamp, your 11th one is free! Recently tried a variety of their baked goods... gluten free chocolate espresso donut was ok it the brownie is really yummy! Their savory choices are also a hit, the brioche breads are tasty although I'm not a huge fan of the artichoke and feta brioche the brioche itself it very tasty and soft. Spicy mushroom brioche is my go to snack. Ham and cheese croissant was also tasty. Everything is fresh too everything I've tried something new it never tasted stale or dry which I appreciated.

Erin K.

Yelp
Love everything about it. Wish they'd get more pastries and had more space but really those are noncomplaints.

Danielle S.

Yelp
Their cold brew is the best! The order ahead feature is amazing for my busy schedule too!

Yelp
Delicious ! Loving the toasts , the breakfast Sandwich & the golden milk. So delish. And yummmmmmmmmmy croissants!
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
So glad they opened up a bwe uptown! Great coffee, great food and even better people.
google avatar

Caroline B.

Yelp
I am really picky about my coffee, and the baristas at bwe make a great latte. The milk is always steamed perfectly. They are pretty fast too- even when there's a long line, there's never a long wait time. When I don't have time to make coffee at home, I still go a little bit out of my way to get my latte here before work, it's definitely worth it.
google avatar

Felicia N.

Yelp
An absolutely great addition to this part of uptown Hoboken! The third location to the bwè family offering a great variety of cafe beverages, pastries and food items. Plenty of seating and 1000% stroller friendly with high chairs available. (Comfy seating by the entrance and pretty sure I saw communal block toys for your little) While the entire attached portion with little city books and extra seating is not open yet I found the available space more than inviting and accommodating. I live so close to this location and it so convenient with a great menu I will for sure be posting more pics of menu items as I will for sure be a regular! All they're missing is the available baonanas from the Washington street location, then I'll SERIOUSLY be there everyday!

Annika A.

Yelp
Yum! Ordered on Uber eats and was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast sandwich eggs were cooked perfectly and the seasonal fall latte was so good. Not overly sweet like most fall inspired coffees. New fave!
google avatar

Fabian B.

Yelp
Nice place to get some work done- or it could be. Coffee is good, sandwiches look great, however don't bother coming here if you are trying to work and rely on Wifi. It's spotty and somewhat unreliable. In addition to that after a visit your clothing will be smelling as if you came home from an 8 hour shift working in their kitchen , as there seems to be a professional venting installation missing at bwe's kitchen counter.

Madelyn G.

Yelp
Toasts were amazing!! Got the honey ricotta basil & the Nutella banana. Both so delicious! What a great find, will def be back. The seasonal fall latte was great as well.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
We are so lucky to have the Bwe team knock it our of the park again! This space is large and airy with a clear attention to every detail. They've added food service with many healthy options and of course, quality coffee.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Wasn't a fan of the one on Washington, but decided to give this location a try when I saw a Grubhub coupon. I've been back sooo many times since! Their food is good (I get the honey ricotta toast, the avocado toast, or a scone) and their cold brew is good. I like their lattes better than their cold brew though which is surprising for me! The atmosphere is cute and the people are friendly most of the time. All in all I'll definitely continue to go there.

Dania H.

Yelp
Love the cozy vibe of this location. Also, there cold brew is fantastic! Definitely recommend Bwe :)
google avatar

Aziza I.

Yelp
So happy to have a new coffee shop workspace in the area! I stopped in on a Friday morning, it was packed with a mix of moms with their kids and people who work from home. I must say there was plenty of space, outlets (always a hot commodity for those who bring their laptops). Love bwe choice of coffee, pastries, they also have grain bowls, different roasts', salads, and drinks. They even have a cute little bookstore and local florist!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
If I could live here, I would. I walk across town on a weekly basis to grab my coffee and do work at Bwe. I've been a loyal Bwe customer at their original Hoboken location for a long time, and their north end location is just as great. I struggle to think of a coffee shop that truly personifies a local gathering place for the community, on top of having cool vibes and great food/drinks.
google avatar

Georgina D.

Yelp
I purposely walk over here on my daily route, such a beautiful and peaceful spot on Hoboken. Their Arnold Palmer and Lavender Cold Brew is amazing!

Christina T.

Yelp
So happy thIs place opened uptown. Great coffee. Only comment is - Please cover your pastries section with a glass on top as well. Especially now with all the viruses. I can never order from that section only from the menu.

Rachael L.

Yelp
This is the cutest new location of bwè, a cafe that I already loved! The chai lattes here are absolutely the greatest ones I've ever had. Perfect atmosphere to enjoy one. I also love that they sell books, flowers, and other assorted goods at this new location. You have to come here!
