Jeremy Hunt’s Cold Pizza Joins Tory Leadership Race with Boris Johnson | Eater London

"A popular burger chain most associated here with a photograph of George Osborne eating one of its burgers, it has become shorthand in Britain for politicians attempting 'man of the people' photo‑ops involving food. Mentioned alongside other political food moments, this burger image is presented as comparatively tame and emblematic of staged displays of relatability by affluent politicians." - James Hansen

Stopped for a quick lunch at Byron. It was an amazing experience. Mario was super kind and helpful. Had the best Chicken Tenders I’ve had in a while. Ambience is well lit and clean too. Definitely recommend if you’re in Cambridge! ⭐️

Absolutely not the Byron I used to know. It was once one of my favourites, but not anymore. Prices have gone up while both quality and portion sizes have gone down, so it’s just not worth it anymore. You’re no longer allowed to have your burger cooked pink—only well done. The patty is very small for the price, and £5 for a tiny portion of fries is unreasonable. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it anymore. Five Guys or even Burger King offer much better value for money.

Google
a must-eat as you visit Cambridge. 🍔🔥 Byron is a chain and I fortunately came to the oldest one. the vibe was perfect and the clerks were extremely courteous and cute - they asked me four times about the satisfaction of foods 😂😂😂 even i just ordered a breakfast plate and a black coffee. ☕️ One thing not fits me is the saltiness, but i believe it's my different eating habits. Especially thanks for Kevin & Jaimin, let's eulogize Byron! 🦷🦷

We’ll definitely be coming back soon and will be recommending Byron to all of our friends and family. Keep up the great work, and thank you again for making our evening so special! Our server Mario is the best !

Google
Byron have certainly reached the upper end of the price point, having chips as an extra. The Byron burger combo still tastes nice but they are all cooked to same now, so no more medium rare. Think this makes the burgers a bit dryer than before. The chicken tender were great, huge, tender but crispy on the outside. The fries are good. House slaw leaves something to be desired - a lot of cabbage. Usually we’d have an Oreo shake as they are great but the price put us off this time. Drinks menu has been cut, as we missed the root beer.

Our first time in Byron Burger - a great memorable experience for the family. Food & atmosphere was great and thanks to Mario for being a great host and looking after us including a 3 year old.

Google
Chips and onion rings quite cold but all good was very nice and tasted like look quality. Appreciate all the vegan options. Nice to have a meal that feels like you get quality for what you pay for. Servers were all great, friendly and attentive

Byron is one of those places that does simple things, but does them well. The Bridge Street location is tidy and welcoming, free of chaos and forced aesthetics. The atmosphere is calm, perfect for enjoying a properly prepared burger. The food is solid: well-cooked meat, clean flavors, fresh ingredients. The fries arrive crispy, hot, and precise. Everything gives the impression of care, without being overdone. The real added value is the service. Mario is impeccable: professional, polite, present when needed and discreet when not. He manages the table calmly and attentively, and truly enhances the experience. He's the kind of waiter who makes the difference. In short: consistent quality, tidy environment, excellent service. A well-deserved five-star rating.

Yelp
Being in London, I've been excited to see the hype on the vegan burgers made here. Just off the bat, service was kind and very accommodating to my needs. They checked on me often to ensure I was enjoying my meal. The shop inside is very clean and doesn't feel congested. Now, to the food. I went with a Vegan Chicken Burger, and it was by far my favorite dish from the restaurant. It was juicy, had a perfect amount of sauce and was warm enough where I didn't need to wait for it to cool down. The onion rings were the next favorite. They were a bit overly greasy but not to the point where it interrupted my meal. The cheesy bites were my least favorite. Just not what I was expecting. NOW that doesn't mean they tasted bad. Just not for my taste is all. More creamy inside than solid cheese. The Oreo shake was something I spotted on the menu with a popular rating, so I gave it a try and I'm so happy I did! It was served in a large portion cup and was filled to the top. It was super creamy and I ended up finishing the whole cup. All in all, great service and good food. Now would I come here again? Why not, but I have a better understanding of what I'm looking for now. If you're in town, I recommend the burgers and smoothies!

Yelp
We did take away. Options were excellent, and quite impressed with the vegetarian and vegan options. Also really liked being able to switch out the bun for a salad. Grilled chicken was good, Beyond Burger was juicy, sweet potato fries were great.

Yelp
For the amount of time we waited for our food, it was definitely not worth our time. The restaurant was understaffed and unorganized. The burgers were over priced for being so small and basic. The fries were served cold. Throwing an onion ring and regular cheese on a burger doesn't make it gourmet. With all the hype about this place, I left disappointed. The best part about the meal was the pickle to say the least. On a side note, the bathrooms were disgusting.

Yelp
Great hamburgers, fries & sides! I came here with a colleague for dinner and ended up ordering the Double Bacon Cheese (£13) since I've tried the Byron before at Haymarket and loved it! Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the Double Bacon Cheese and would not order it again. It was way too heavy and didn't have a lot of variety in flavor. We also ordered the Halloumi Fries (£5) to share and my absolute favorite - Courgette (Zucchini) Fries (£4)! The Halloumi Fries were delicious and lightly battered, but a bit too oily in my opinion. The Belvoir Elderflower Presse (£3.25), which I've never had before was lovely and not too sweet. Casual ambiance and great service!

Yelp
Good burgers but too small and expensive! This is what happens in a tourist town. Restaurants can get away with high prices (£14 or $20 for a small burger). It's too bad because I would have liked to have this as a local stop...

Yelp
Great "made to order" burgers (a novelty in the UK)! Milkshakes and courgette (zucchini) fries to die for! The services was great as well!! Order your burger from med-Rare to well - just as you like it!! Great, low-key and really good food with better service than you expect for a burger joint!!

Yelp
The best classic American burgers you can find in Cambridge. The brioche bun they use for the burgers is a star. The waiters are so friendly and are always up for a goofy banter with us. Love this place! I dined in only (about 10 times)

Yelp
The ironically named "big" burger was £9.50 and came with nothing else, fries cost another £2.50, so the only thing big was the bill and we were still hungry. Massively disappointing. The burger did taste nice, but this place is overpriced for an American style burger place, and generally a disappointment. Especially when they added on 10% to our bill; just a burger, fries and two bottles of their own brand beer cost me over £22!

Yelp
They do "proper hamburgers" and proper they are. The cambridge location isn't too far from where we live and technically can be on the way home. The shakes and burgers are the closest we've found to our beloved meaty bread meal in the states. It can be pricey, but there are plenty of lackluster pubs that serve sub par food for the same price or more. I would rather spend my money here and know that I'm leaving happy and full than go to the pub with the not so great options. Oreo milkshake is just like the the ones I grew up loving and the smokey burger is by far the best on the menu.

Yelp
As an American, when I think of a "proper hamburger" I imagine a delicious patty with a nice, pink middle, known as medium rare. Cooking a burger is a very simple process, but when we visited Bryon "Proper" Hamburgers, there was a card explaining that they did not have the correct equipment for accomplishing a truly proper hamburger - i.e. I guess a frying pan? Anyway, the food was adequate, but honestly about 30% over-priced. The service was slow, and we had to wait a long time for our bill. You can get the same type of slightly over-cooked hamburger at any Greene King pub, of which Cambridge has an abundance, for slightly less. We also split a milkshake, and although tasty, it was still over-priced and nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Best burger in Cambridge! We really love this place, it has the flair of an American diner. The burgers are always excellent (try the Byron) & the staff friendly. Can be quite busy, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays, so plan a 10-15 min wait if you haven't booked a table.

Yelp
Brilliant place to eat and one of the best burgers and fries i've had in a long time! Having visited a few "Byrons" in London, when I heard there was one opening up in Cambridge I made a point of visiting it and I really wasn't disappointed - A real proper burger! Perfect timing on our starters and mains meant little time waiting around. There was a slight mixup as we had requested no tomatoes and medium rare cooking on both our burgers, one seemed not to have quite reached medium rare and the other had a tomato, so not quite sure what happened but this didn't ruin our experience. Our 'While You Wait' (Tortilla chips with tomato salsa and guacamole) was wonderful and had a real home made taste which got us in a good mood. As far as price goes you seem to get what you pay for and its differently worth it. Two mains with sides and drinks was just over £30 which I thought was reasonable. Although at one point we asked for mayonnaise and was presented with a pot, thats all good, but later asking for a pot of BBQ sauce they charged £1.25 and took so long getting it for us I wouldn't have been surprised if they had bought it from supermarket, it tasted as such too. For the main we chose the Cheese Burger with American Cheese and a side of fries each, taste wise I really couldn't complain about a thing - fantastic and I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Well done Bryon an other brilliant restaurant!

Yelp
I reluctantly came to this place at my kids' insistence. Much to my surprise the service is attentive and burgers are delicious and the Byron cheese is the tops (though In N Out is still better according to the burger connesoirs). Also, if you want to have a bit more veggie, do try the burgers with 70% beef and 30% mushroom (if you are a fan of mushrooms).
