Wow! I was blown away.
I was driving by and noticed a new spot where a charming little restaurant used to be. I came back a few days later to check it out. Turns out the day of my visit was their soft opening, and I was the first customer.
Bagels are their specialty, but breakfast burritos & omelets are also available. I received a warm welcome from Paula & Andreas. They were both so sweet & friendly. I ordered a plain bagel, a Basque cheesecake, and a latte. Paula informed me that their syrups are made in house and the coffee was a blend of beans from Oaxaca, Mexico & Ethiopia. (Oat & Almond milk available). Since it was their first day, they were also giving out chocolate chip cookies to customers.
Everything was fresh and warm out of the oven. The bagel was THE BEST! It was so good! Just the right amount of crunch on the exterior, soft & fluffy inside, and slightly chewy. The flavor was so good, it didn't need butter or cream cheese. After I ate it, I was craving another. I've never had Basque cheesecake before, and this was amazing! Cutting into it was like cutting into warm butter. It was silky smooth and creamy on the tongue. I wish I had ordered two! The latte was also another winner. I could taste the bold richness of the perfectly roasted beans, which was balanced by the velvety foam topping. I could also taste hints of orange & cinnamon. Last but not least - the cookie. I love chocolate chip cookies and this one was the size of Texas and loaded with lots of chocolate chips. The chips were slightly melty because it was still warm. It was heavenly!
The café is cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. The decorative plants are a nice touch. I was impressed with everything from the excellent customer service, to the delicious food, and perfect latte. I wish them lots of success. I'm telling you - these are the best bagels outside of New York!
