⭐️ Birthday Celebration at Cipriani London⭐️ I recently celebrated my birthday at Cipriani London, and it was an unforgettable experience! Located in the heart of Mayfair, the ambiance was simply stunning, blending stylish decor with a vibrant atmosphere that truly set the stage for a special occasion. We started our meal with a delicious risotto that was creamy and perfectly seasoned. The flavors were rich, and it was evident that only the finest ingredients were used. Next up were the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with fresh asparagus that added a lovely crunch to the dish. To top off our meal, we indulged in the vanilla meringue cake, which was light and airy, making it the perfect sweet ending to our feast. I also enjoyed a cup of black tea that complemented the dessert wonderfully. The service was impeccable throughout our visit, with attentive staff who made sure every detail was taken care of. Cipriani London truly made my birthday celebration memorable, and I can't wait to return to explore more of their menu! If you're looking for an elegant dining experience in London, I highly recommend Cipriani London. Just remember to adhere to their smart casual dress code for a seamless experience!

Let me start with saying that I did not have a reservation and the staff still found a table for us. If I could rate the food and service more than 5 stars I would. The cocktails were amazing. Can’t name one thing I did not enjoy. Will definitely be back !!

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Food: Italian with a splattering of randomness Long standing Mayfair stalwart Cipriani/C has stood the test of time and still delivers consistently good food. There are far many better restaurants in London but this is reliable, comfortable and has the right balance. Neither too formal nor too casual so everyone feels comfortable. I don’t get why some moan about the dress code. If you don’t like it then simply don’t go. That’s all there is to it. Otherwise go and enjoy being pampered with some old school Italian charm and have a nice lunch or dinner. Please note this is an expensive restaurant so do your homework first rather than going in and the complaining later about the price! What I liked: • Very attentive service with a can do attitude • Very warm, comfortable atmosphere • Food was good What I didn’t like: • (Understandably high) price point • Presentation of the lentil soup • Limited desserts (at least on this visit) Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? NO Price Point: $$$

We came to Cipriani specifically to try their popular dessert. We had a reservation and were seated at our table, but after we ordered only desserts, the staff told us we couldn’t do that. They said we had to either order a full dinner (main courses first, then dessert), move to the bar counter, or leave. That already felt absurd and extremely unwelcoming. We reluctantly agreed to move to the bar. The bar area was very cramped and uncomfortable. There’s barely any space between the bar and the counter we were seated at, and servers kept walking behind us without even acknowledging us. It took forever just to get the check. The whole setup made us feel like we were in the way. The service was aggressive and rude from the start. We did not feel like welcome guests at all — more like a burden. Now, about the dessert. This is just my personal opinion — I’m not really a sweet tooth — but it was overly sweet, too large, and definitely overpriced. For the same money, I could’ve had a much better dessert somewhere else.

Google
Overpriced and overrated. The lentil salad was basic, the pasta tasted cheap and watery — not handmade as expected from a reputable Italian spot. Friendly staff, but I won’t be coming back or recommending it.

The food are amazing and taste great, the staff are friendly and serving very fast. Great place for a lovely date or fine dine. For the pasta- Rigatoni alla Bolognese is my fav. The noodles cooked perfectly and the sauce is 🤌🏼🤌🏼

Overpriced and pretentious Set up is very original like dinning in the restaurant of an old ocean liner. The tables though are literally one on top of the other. Waiters could not approach our table. One of our waiters did mot speak proper English. I was trying to understand how a sake cocktail is served and she kept repeating my words confused. i went for a Negroni to be sure that I will get something decent which arrived on the rocks and not with one big ice cube. Sorry but if you are changing 23£ I expect an original serving. The risotto was very dull. The asparagus salad very fresh but with a tiny piece of goat cheese. In our bolognese the pasta was not boiled enough, almost crunchy. We sent it back, Caccio pepe was the only good dish we had. Portions are satisfactory. Tiramisu was just OK. Overall not a nice experience. Will not be going back in this lifetime.

Google
The service was attentive and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations without being pushy. We started with the Bread (Butter) , Burrata which was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, I ordered the Beef Carpacio while my guest had the Veal Fillet. Both were excellent—cooked to perfection, well-seasoned, and artfully plated. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming. We finished with the Meringue Cake, which was a standout. Rich, indulgent, and just the right size to satisfy a sweet tooth without being too heavy. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the wait time for our entrees was a bit longer than expected. That said, the quality of the food more than made up for the delay.

Yelp
I ended up celebrating my birthday at Cipriani and has a wonderful time. This place is definitely posh - they made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. I ended up getting some of their pasta, and it was easily the best pasta I've had since Italy. I had a wonderful time - it was one to remember.

Yelp
- Food: undercooked - Cocktails: (prepackaged wtf?!?!) - Servers: (expect "service charge" / tip), hadn't tried many of the dishes - Facilities: (dirty floor like other reviews mentioned and the air smells like a strong mix of cheap men's cologne and smoke) - Clientelle: ugly and rude, everyone just sitting around on their phone. Also I noticed many of the clients rude to the service staff - seems to draw a crowd lacking of manners

Yelp
I stopped by on Saturday without a reservation and was pleased they were able to find me a table right away. Staff was polite and service was prompt. The food, dessert and drink were all spot on - savory. This place is worth the trip if you're visiting London - I do recommend.

Yelp
THIS RESTAURANT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Just to start, the tile and travertine floors were filthy the moment you walked in. All of the decor looked like someone from a 1960's boat puked all over the walls, and the restaurant didn't even open until six. Not to mention that every employee was wearing oversized white tuxedos like they were acting for a little kids birthday party. However most importantly the food and drinks were absolutely DISGUSTING. The rigatoni I had ordered was vastly undercooked and had a gut wrenching brown color like it was sitting in the sun for a few days. The lamb chops were just as gross, with 0 flavor and tasted it like it was cooked in an easy bake oven. The vodka and peach cocktail had zero originality to it and was just juice from a can of peaches and a couple shots of sky vodka from the liquor store down the street. Oh, and I forgot to mention that they didn't even have a PROPER WINE GLASS. This is a famous well known chain of restaurant, but this one shouldn't even be considered as one of them. My group and I literally went home and ordered McDonald's because the food was so bad. And guess what? McDonalds did it BETTER! Do yourself a favor and never even look at this Cipriani in London. It should be wiped from the face of the earth and a convenience store should take its place.

Yelp
I've been dining at C London/Cipriani restaurant ever since it opened, which must be nearly 20 years ago. I had booked a table for my wife's birthday with our 2 children, aged 13 and 15 and they refused us entry because my 13 year old was wearing shorts. These were smart, tailored shorts and it was one of the hottest days of the year - over 30 degrees outside. You can imagine the extreme disappointment of my wife on her birthday when her chosen restaurant refused her family entry. We could have chosen to eat anywhere in London, spending our hard earned money at any one of thousands of restaurants, yet we had chosen you. Not only did you let us down, you have lost a customer for life. As a well-connected, high net worth individual, I will make sure that I make every effort to convey my experience to others and to ensure you lose future lifetime revenue and customers. We were lucky enough to have been staying in a £7000 a night suite in the The Dorchester Hotel and a quick phone call to the hotel Concierge sourced an alternative restaurant who could not have welcomed us more openly. The service was superb and we ended up with a bill of nearly £2000. I gave the staff a substantial cash tip, on top of the standard service charge that had been added to the bill. It's incredible to hear that C London, which now appears to be back using the Cipriani name, is doing so well financially, despite other hospitality venues suffering, that they can turn down business from longstanding customers or indeed anyone who wishes to spend money with them. Once seated, no one can see whether a child is wearing shorts and so your policy is ridiculous. We witnessed other diners dressed inappropriately, wearing revealing outfits and covered in tattoos, yet you chose to take offence with my 13 year old child's smart shorts. This restaurant bizarrely allows dogs into their venue but not children in smart shorts. I would warn other potential diners to read the other reviews of this restaurant and to think very carefully about whether you wish to associate yourself with a restaurant that operates like this. There are thousands of restaurants in London, so choose carefully.

Yelp
Excellent food and impeccable service. I shall expand on the above. I stumbled upon the place the night before and was looking in the window and trying to figure out what the deal was as on this quite street is a buzzy restaurant, with tall models spilling out with wealthy looking friends, super expensive cars out front. WTF is going on. Anyway, I kept it moving. The next night I walked by again around dinner time and paused, when the doorman / bouncer asked if I had been by the night before. When I said yes because I was curious what the place was, he asked if I wanted to come in for dinner - probably the nicest doorman ever. I got there just before the dinner rush, so they got me a table for 1 and from there I was brilliantly taken care of by 2 waiters, seamlessly filling drinks and bringing wine and cocktails, answering questions, chatting me up, etc. The food was simple; salads, bolognese, etc., but it was all very delicious. I had dessert, too. The meal was paced perfectly, they did not rush me out or anything. By the time I left, the models and billionaires from Monaco had arrived and the place was packed. I thanked the manager personally and he gave me his card to contact him on my next visit. People can complain all they want about C, but I had one the best end to end dining experiences in my life.

Yelp
Loved my experience here. I am such a fan of this chain. I have been to Cipriani many times in NY and decided to give it a try while in London. The staff are very professional, friendly and eager to please. We enjoyed our meal, and the ambiance . Would definitely recommend if you are visiting or are a local.

Yelp
Probably the most traditional Italian restaurant in London BUT the prices I have been there 5 times, I love the food (I have been to the original Harry's bar in Venice) but come on..! 2 people brunch (my latest one) half carafe of wine £180 !! Why?! The only place I can feel like Italy, amazing desserts and main courses. It is ironic that they supposed to be an Italian cantina or brasserie when you ask for some proper wine glasses (which they do not have) but the prices show of a 3 starred restaurant! Yes it is a place to see and be seen (I was there with R.Cavali, Simon from X-factor etc). Good to have an idea how proper Italian looks like!

Yelp
A Swiss acquaintance of mine has read about Cipriani, at that time it was the hot spot to go to. I constantly monitor the newspaper, where now and then this and that celebrity has dined at this very popular Italian place. It makes me laugh, as I have been there and know what it is all like. If you ask my opinion, it was very sterile and tedious. There was no atmosphere, but it might have been more because of the people who ate there then the restaurant actually itself. I remember we went with an older acquaintance of ours and we were two girls. You can think your own story about what they made up about us. However, we perfectly suited the image of the table placed next to us: an older gentleman and his spouse with pumped up lips and ball formed décolleté. I had my eyes and ears more over there then on our table. Even though I found it hilarious, I will not have the urge to go there again and if any man would ask me out for a date there, I would be mortified. The spaghetti vongle were not al dente enough. Maybe my expectations were to grand. At least now I know what Cipriani is like when I read in the newspaper where Danny Cipriani, the former rugby player took out his girlfriend Kelly Brook for a meal.

Yelp
That place is really what you call OVERRATED! My family & I went to have dinner in there a while ago for the first time in that place. Despite the unfriendly staff member -unwarm welcoming- that has doubted our reservation mixing it with another person name & his head to toe look , the place was very noisy & croweded , we felt as if we were suffocating with the decor tightness & crowdness of people. We had a set menu at that day , the food were horrible, they gave us 3 different dishes of fish which was too much! I was literally crying on the inside in every bite! & the dessert was inedible disaster! & the total amount was insane! The only good thing about it is that we spotted some celebrities having dinner & someone proposed to another! Which was deeply romantic & touching! & oh they even had a small singing band, Other than that it was a one time only experience & it shall never be repeated!

Yelp
Imagine a movie produced by Harvey Weinstein, directed by Spielberg and starring Meryl Streep. It SHOULD be the bomb, right? Except it sucks, and no one can make peace with it. That's C London. It's hard to make peace with the fact that a restaurant in Mayfair with such a popular "name" and that charges an average of £30 PER DISH is JUST mediocre... and yet, here we are. Went there for dinner last night with a couple of friends, and we ate. We had a bunch of ok starters, like the burrata and the calamari, and then lamb chops (literally just grilled with a side dish of steamed veg. Big whoop), Pappardelle with ragu (also just "blah") and a bunch of overpriced sashimi type dishes. The ambiance is awful too. It's a big, personality-free dining room, no decor and no atmosphere, super bright lights. The highlight was a merengue cake. And normally I hate meringue, so go figure. I don't know, this place is a mystery to me. Sooner or later people are going to start figuring out that a fancy name doesn't excuse average food, and hopefully this place will call it a day.

Yelp
Amazing food amazing atmosphere amazing service. Definitely recommended. Make sure to order the burrata and rigatoni pasta.

Yelp
Cipriani was always one of my favourite places in NY, the one in London is a tad different. The atmosphere in a way is less forgiving and everyone tries to dress up a bit too much. However the food is always up to the standard! Don't get me started on the vanilla meringue cake, they do take away service, so you can even call them to reserve it and pick it up. I always do that for all birthday cake occasions. The staff is also very lovely and do their best. Overall, not an everyday hang out, but perfect when you want to go out for a dinner.

Yelp
I've been to Cipriani in New York, and I wasn't such a fan. However, I'm happy to report being much happier with the London location. Panic struck my friends and I at 6PM Friday evening when we realized we had nowhere booked for a dinner with a friend of ours who'd come in from Spain. Luckily, we pulled off a reservation at Cipriani. The bill came to about 55 pounds a head for four people. Here's what we ordered in order of yummiest to least yummy: - Bellinis (4) - YUM. These are brilliant. - Vanilla Cake with soft meringue (1) - YUM. Very different from other cakes I'd had, and very very worth ordering, if they have it. - Pasta with ham and pancetta - Really great flavor! The quality of the pasta was excellent. - Pasta with tomato sauce - Boring sauce, but the quality of the pasta was superb - Burrata appetizer - Chocolate Cake - Just OK. - Salad - I was none too pleased that plain lettuce with olive oil ran us 11 pounds, but I suppose that's to be expected at a place like this. I recommend giving the vegetables a miss when you come here. All in all, a lovely treat. I definitely recommend sharing a main course, as we did, if you don't want to go broke.

Yelp
Great experience. We had a table of 4 and enjoyed ourselves imensely. The food was 1st class and the drinks even better...if you haven't had the Ciprianis Prosecco then you don't know what you are missing... Service is extremely attentive and the ambiance is just cozy and yet sophisticated at the same time... Will be back for sure....

Yelp
We were able to get a last minute reservation on Friday evening of Easter weekend, which I suppose doesn't bode that well for the popularity of C London. The inside is a bit run down, and the tables are really squished together which is rather uncomfortable. The food was good - I had creamy toretllini with proscuitto and peas, and it was rich and decadent (to the point that I had to talk half of it home!). The vanilla meringue pie is really nice and light, a great accompaniment to coffee. But overall the ambiance just doesn't suit the name or the price point.

Yelp
I prefer the New York one. I wanted so much to love the London one more but hmmm no . The servers get overwhelmed. They insist on you ordering more food . Two skinny girls ordering one appetizers two entrees and one dessert is enough trust me . The food was not waw. I got the veal tagliatelle and I honestly didn't like it at all.
google avatar

Vaulte K.

Yelp
I love the Cipriani in Venice and have enjoyed the one in New York very much. But the London location doesn't stack up. The food is good but not on par (the others are sensational, whereas this one is adequate). The furnishings are rich but cold and the lighting very bright. When you walk in, all heads turn to check out your grand entrance. This is a place to see and be seen by people that mainly go out to be seen by other people, which doesn't make them the most agreeable fellow diners - and certainly not the place where the kind of people you really want to see would go. Perhaps that's why the tables are arranged the way they are and the lighting is so bright? On a positive note, I've always found the staff to be super efficient and attentive.
google avatar

Sheeva G.

Yelp
The place is meant for people watching, which isn't necessarily my thing, but I guess it was good to try. It's jammed packed, especially on the weekends and quite a few celebrities showed up when I was there. It's not very intimate and it's quite loud. Food was solid though. Wine was nice as well. Pretty expensive for the quality you get.

Yelp
My first visit to this Italian restaurant in Mayfair...definitely my last....extremely noisey, tables squashed together, there was a massive Q, they gave our reservation to someone else by mistake so we ended up Queuing for ages. Food was nice, but not well presented at all when you think about the prices and and reputation of the place. A big let down. Seems to be a place to be seen, more plastic and Big Brother style than chic Italian eatery....

Yelp
Ok, here's the thing....the whole point of Cipriani is absoutely not the food despite the fact that it should be given the prices....I have eaten here, courtesy of my rather lovely and very rich best friend several times and the bills we have managed to rack up between us have been staggering...(anywhere from £330-440 depending on the wine/champagne consumed) and whilst the food is never memorable the ambience and enjoyment always is. The last time we ate there was for my birthday and a typical example of a lunch at Cripriani....I arrived there 12.30pm and was showed to gorgeous banquette table by a very elegant and polished matire d who immediately asked if I wanted a Bellini in a way that broached no arguments, he was just the right side of flirtatious...not outwardly so but just enough to make me feel that the effort I'd made to look good was worth it....he disappeared to get my drink and looking round the restaurant I spotted Sarah Ferguson (much prettier in real life) and Roger Moore and his new wife (both looking very thin and soignee). The whole atmostphere is very 'moving and shaking' and feels in part like a very exclusive club. My Bellini arrived courtesy of a white coated waiter, really nice champagne, really fresh peach juice...all fine except it's served by the thimble full rather than in a proper champagne flute...a little stingy to say the least but it was very nice though never seems to be quite chilled enough but maybe that's just my own personal taste. The menus and bread were bought as the place started to fill up with lots of 'meedja' types and pretty (and some not so pretty) ladies who lunch adorned with handbags and shoes that just screamed (or in some cases screeched) money...but not necessarily class...(ouch...who knew I could be such a bitch) and I noted that nearly everyone had a Bellini to start with....that's some racket they got going there. To the food....I had the crab salad....nice...ok nice rather that swoon nice...lacking in seasoning and presentation nice...my friend had the Tagliatelle gratinati...AMAZING..AMAZING AMAZING...home made pasta cooked al dente then tossed with a cream, ham and cheese and served gratinated...every mouthful must contain a thousand calories but ohmygod.....it was soooooooooooooo good..for main course....I had the starter portion of tagliatelle....see above and my friend who specifically ordered a dover sole on the bone was disappointed by the filleted fish that was literally dumped on a cold plate and placed before him....it was a minnow...or at least it looked that way...he sent it back and requested another one...served on the bone this time and on a warmed plate...after a little huffing and puffing the waiter agreed although not before a colleague of his had come over to argue the case....the second fish arrived and was just as small....at around £30+ a pop it wasn't as it should have been...the side orders were all good, a nicely dressed salad, fries and really good zucchini fritti. We sat drinking perfectly chilled champange all afternoon and had a lovely time as no one rushed us along etc and the atomosphere was lovely throughout the lunch....the service is very good, officious and occasionally snooty but everything arrives as and when it should and there is a feeling of being looked after. To get to my original point I always have a fabulously gorgeous time here and sometimes nothing else will do when I'm in the mood for the glitz and glamour and want to dress up and feel like part of the Eurotrash jet set but if I want good Italian food then there are much much better restauants in London. Oh I nearly forgot....half way through lunch Kelly Brook walked in....A or Z list depending on whether you're male or female but either way an absolutely stunning woman.

Yelp
The food was simply prepared, fish done almost as well as some of the best I've had in Venice. the service was good. And dessert was one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. I would give this restaurant higher marks, but for two problems -- first, the tables are squeezed in far too close to each other. I'm a thin guy, but squeezing us into a tiny spot was silly. And second, the place was entire too loud ... so much so, one could hardly hear one's self think. they need either carpet on the floors, or fabric on the walls to soften the hard surfaces to absorb sound. The food was good enough that I would gladly consider eating there again. but only after they've taken steps to dampen the noise.

Yelp
You can have a nice meal here. Not the best meal of your life but nice. It's expensive. And it's not a red sauce place. It's continental. Order fish. Ignore the prices. Hope someone else is paying. The veggies on the side are nice.

Yelp
Once I saw Tom Ford leaving the restaurant and a paparazzi on a bike, waiting outside.. A place to be and to be seen! ;)

Yelp
Still find it amazing that people still go to Cipriani and complain about the price - we all know that it's going to be expensive. I enjoyed myself but was not overally impressed with the resturant, I'd heard so much about it so was probably had high expectations, my advise don't. Have a lovely evening anyway and the service was impeccable!! Very relaxing and chilled resturant, could of sat there all day drinking red!!! But make sure you bring your cheque book! Table of 4 came to £500!! Thats starters, mains, deserts and 2 bottles of red! Also its a celebrity haunt so keep your eyes peeled!! Duran duran was there!

Qype User (s-j-…)

Yelp
The C was recommended to us as the restaurant in central London. We would disagree on that. You basically sit in one big hall which is not necessarily nice as it can be very loud. The food was average and for a price not including wine of approx. GBP 100,- per person it was not worth it at all. No creativity as you would expect from a restaurant like this and in our opinion not worth going again. There are many places around much better than this.

Steve K.

Yelp
The concierge recommended Cipriani as a boxing day opening. It was similar to Olive Garden in Williamsport, Pennsylvania only the service was worse. The maitre de was amazing and I recommend the restaurant on his looks alone.

Vatche B.

Yelp
Was invited for lunch with a family friend. Definitely a place where you automatically feel like aristocracy when you walk in. The food was excellent (the Chilean Sea Bass was succulent and tender) and the dessert was light and airy (vanilla meringue), with a nice finish of machiatto. Altough we were waited upon efficiently and courteously, they did forget several items (such as side dishes) or even got the order wrong, but quickly fixed the issue. Overall, you need to know that you're paying a premium for the name/reputation of the place rather than the food, as I've had comparably excellent dishes at lower prices elsewhere. In these demanding economic times, restaurants such as these need to offer more for a bit less, or at least offer something special for the same prices currently listed.

Yelp
hey this is another restaurant where I would suggest to go. we were celebrating a birthday party, it was quite a high price, but the restaurant, the service it worth it. we had a great time there. it is very central too.

Yelp
This place always delivers. Great service, food and atmosphere. I go there once a year when visiting London. Always save room for dessert here. Make reservations cause it gets busy. Never had a bad item on the menu.
