I finally tried brussel sprouts after 37 years😂 I was out running errands today with my wife and we couldn’t decide on something for lunch. We were passing C Rojo's Taqueria on Broadway and both decided at roughly the same time that this is where we were having lunch. We walked up to the front counter to place our order and we were instantly greeted by a kind young lady. We had a few questions about the menu and she easily answered all of our questions with a smile. She also made a few really good suggestions as well. We ended up deciding on the Brussels Bowl with shrimp and the Machete Quesadilla (it’s basically a quesadilla the size of a football). We sat down at our table and within 3 to 4 minutes, the waitress brought out some chips and salsa. If you haven’t had the salsa, it’s amazing!!! About 5 minutes later, our food arrived. The first thing I tried was the brussel sprouts. The texture was a bit different to me, but the flavor was soooooo good. I’d definitely eat them again. I then tried the shrimp and I have to admit, they were perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. My wife and I split the quesadilla and we still had leftovers. We chose carne asada as our meat. It was very juicy and tender. It was also seasoned quite well. The quesadilla was full of melted cheese and beans. We got the pickled onions on the side, which is also something I tried for the first time. I loved them!!! Up until today, I’ve always ordered their wagyu burger and I’ve tried a few different tacos from them. I definitely have some new options to choose from in the future. I highly recommend stopping by and trying some of their excellent quality food.

I’ve been meaning to try C Rojos Taqueria for some time. I was intrigued because they have a machete quesadilla on their menu, and I love the texture of a crispy grilled masa! Photo one shows their set up. It's an expensive dish, but it was a whole lot of food. I could only eat half of it, and ate the other half today for lunch. Photo number two shows 'under the hood'. I got mine as al pastor, and you can see, they didn't skimp a bit! They had a red sauce that I got that was smoky. I'm pretty sure it was a Morita pepper sauce. It was absolutely the perfect compliment to the al pastor. I should also add that the rice had a mild delicious flavor too! There’s so much wonderful flavor here! I'd have to give these guys a 10 out of 10! This place is in a gas station on South Broadway between Target and Kohl's. Who eats in a gas station? Well, I certainly will for this kind of food!

Google
Alexander and Jennifer provided exceptional service during my visit. They took the time to explain the menu, offered excellent food recommendations, and made me feel welcome as it was my first time here. The food exceeded my expectations—flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. In addition, the dining area was spotless and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this place for both the quality of service and the dining experience.

Absolutely delicious! I always come in for the Pastor taco with fresh pineapple pico as well as the Mahi-mahi taco with fresh mango pico, both on flour tortillas. The warm, crispy chips & homemade salsa are also very yummy. This is my new favorite place for authentic tacos with amazing flavor and fresh ingredients. Highly recommend!

Google
Amazing experience at Crojos! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the chance to try one of their Waygu beef burgers, and it was absolutely spectacular! The meat was cooked to perfection—juicy and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. Plus, the crispy fries on the side were the perfect complement. Definitely a winning combination that exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for a high-quality burger in a great atmosphere, Crojos is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Our office ordered tacos today and everything was amazing. Ordering for 10 people who all wanted something different was such a smooth and easy process. Everything was correct AND they gave us extra chips with our queso! Will be back for Taco Tuesday again for sure!!

Yelp
What a great find!! This place is a little hidden but worth the search. Fresh food, friendly staff, and cleanliness all present here. I got the Chicken Torta. Delicious and the toasted bun was perfect. Great flavors!! The French fries were hot and crispy. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Wow. I had some hesitation for this place because it is attached to a gas station. People always say that if your taco place does not look sketchy then you aren't doing it right. This place is awesome! To be honest the atmosphere is not bad at all. Both seating was comfortable. The Al pastor tacos were great! Order a plate of 4 tacos and their churros to serve as a in between meal because the wife and I knew we had a large dinner coming. We left stuffed with this order though. The Al pastor tacos were phenomenal. The pineapple and salsa was very complementary to the meat. The churros were warm and fresh. The cajeta and chocolate drizzle were nice. I am definitely going to come back to this place and try out the kimchi fries and also the truffle fries.

Yelp
After rave reviews I was surprised it was only above average. Plus is the Ceylon Tea Coconut or blueberry-pomegranate but they only have the pink sweetener. No coffee, they recommended getting it at the attached service station. House made green chorizo breakfast burrito. Interesting flavor but will probably not reorder. Over-stuffed and falling apart, two red salsas and one green on the side. Served in a little metal tray with raised sides. Plasticware with a napkin and a salt-pepper packet. I need to try their tacos and other dishes to see what the raves are about.

Yelp
I have to say that this was far beyond expectations! Kudos for such good food. I saw the reviews and that's why I went. Tho arriving, I was a bit at odds, as it's a restaurant attached to a gas station. Gas station food isn't always the best, tho, again, this is attached, and not actually in the gas station itself. Street tacos of various flavors. I at them too fast to take picture, tho let me assure you that the portions were large for even these small soft tortillas that it sat in. The chicken was great, the el pastor was the best! Also had a beef and potato taco. It was good, the potatoes could afford to be smaller in my opinion, overpowers the taste of the entree. Really great place. It's a bit small if you plant to sit and dine. Family quiet. The staff was great, so helpful for this first timer. So glad I stopped in to try this establishments food.

Yelp
I judge a 'Mexican' restaurant by the chips & salsa. Both are excellent here! Fresh & delicious. I was hoping for the Korean tacos, but they were out. They suggested the beef birria tacos. I ordered the plate of 3. Oh my....should have stuck with 1. Delicious and filling!

Ben T.

Yelp
Amazing service! Always smiling, and bringing joy to others. The tacos were phenomenal probably the best in Tyler!

Christian A.

Yelp
I ordered steak tacos. I paid for steak tacos. I received chicken tacos. Smh Chicken tacos were good though.

Yelp
Found this spot in my work travels and so happy I did. What a deal they had street tacos for $1.50 each as a daily special and they were excellent. I had one of each meat and a side of rice with a drink and it was under $12! The service was super friendly and the sauces and salsa with the free chips and salsa were great! Love it and will be back next time in town.

Yelp
The first time I had bulgogi tacos here I fell in love the food is super good . Service is mid there very much "take your order in and out" Where it is, and what it looks like kinda sketchy looks like a start up but those places can be the best!

Yelp
C Rojo's Taqueria serves authentic Mexican food with a Pacific Island infusion, fresh and flavorful. It is delicious, and worth every mile you drive to participate in this gastronomical heaven. It's home-made with fresh ingredients. Kudos to George the cashier, he's an asset to C Rojo's Taqueria with his welcoming demeanor and knowledge on the establishments offerings. He guided us toward a few fantastic choices that we enjoyed greatly. He suggested the Brussel Sprout taco, topped with pickled onions and chipotle mayo sauce. I ordered it and was not disappointed. In fact, I liked it so much I'll order it again next time. Not knowing the portion size, I also ordered the braised beef taco or Suadero taco. Took this home in a To Go box for dinner. Another winner. George spoke highly of the green chorizo taco. Oh my goodness, that taco was "Muy Primo", exclaimed my husband as he savored each bite. We didn't stop there, we ordered Rojo Queso with pastor. Wonderful choice. The chips were thin and crispy with a light corn flavor, which allowed the blended Queso, pastor and other ingredients to be enjoyed. Dessert offerings: Tres Leche cake in chocolate or vanilla and Churros drizzled with caramel and chocolate syrup served with Vanilla ice cream. Casual dining, counter ordering, self seating in booths with self serve tea and soda fountain. Additional offerings: Breakfast menu and Brunch on Saturday. We liked this restaurant so much we ordered take out breakfast food for tomorrow morning. C Rojo's Taqueria is a winner, a restaurant that makes Tyler that much more enjoyable to visit.

Yelp
Salty, uninspired food. terrible customer service.i asked for my consomé to go after offering the birria tacos. the guy took 15 minutes before we just went up to the counter to ask if our stuff was ready to go, and he said they had no way to put my consomé in a to go cup. Seriously wasn't asking for much. didn't have high expectations. Don't waste your time or money. Weak sauce

Yelp
C Rojo's catered a small(ish) meeting for me for around 30 people. They were amazing to work with!!! I even had to reschedule the meeting at the last minute due to horrible weather and that wasn't a problem for them at all. They came and set up all the food with warmers, utensils, beverages and even offered to go and get a bag of ice if we needed it. Everyone loved the food...especially the brussels sprouts!! Everyone raises an eyebrow when I tell them how amazing the brussels sprouts are, but everyone tried them at the meeting and everyone loved them!!! Try them!!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
Host had a bit of an attitude, but the food made up for it :) Very enjoyable food, one of the freshest seafood meals I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend giving it a try! The business next to it (inside) has very welcoming staff. P.S. I ordered an extra taco

Cindy J.

Yelp
We have ordered pickup for ten people Mother's Day, Christmas etc....always good, tasty, fresh, everything correct and always on time. The business used to be closer but it's worth the longer drive to go get it and pick it up.

Emma S.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with some friends, One of them recommended this place. very friendly staff and super clean atmosphere. However, the food was very very oily. I know it's a taqueria, so oil will obviously be used in many dishes, but everything on me and my friends plates was drenched in oil. Again, nice owner, nice everything else.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious!! I got the torta and it was paired with some amazingly seasoned fries. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If there were 6 stars I would give 6. This place is the tits. Best tacos in East Texas by a long shot. Possibly the best tacos I have ever had. Get in your car and drive to this place immediately. I ain't kidding go now. I had the Al pastor and a carnitas taco today when I stumbled on this place I had never heard of and I am not exaggerating, best tacos I have ever had. Chips and salsa were great. I will probably go back tomorrow.

Yelp
I like the huarache here its fairly big and tastes pretty much homemade. They also have the seafood place next door in the same building in case you want a shrimp cocktail.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
A friend knew that I had to drive through East Texas, and was insistent that I arrange the schedule so that we would stop for lunch here. He said they always make a point to stop when they're driving on I 20. Figured it was worth a shot, and even though my mother is hesitant to try anything that she thinks might be spicy, she agreed to join me. Both of us were so pleased with our choice! She ordered a pork taco and a shrimp taco, and her face lit up when she ate her first bite of the shrimp one. Liked it so much that she went back and ordered another one. I've never seen her do that at a Mexican restaurant! Loved my pork stew; totally would get it again. I see when my friends make a point to stop here when passing through the Tyler area!

Yelp
If you're not paying attention you'll likely drive by C Rojo's. Turn around. It's absolutely ridiculous how delicious the food is. I had Korean BBQ Tacos. 3 for $12 was the special. Don't let the kimchi scare you. It's wonderful. We shared the Rojo Queso. Also fabulous. I did have to ask for plates and cutlery but that was the only bump here.

Zach B.

Yelp
Definition of a hole-in-the-wall. Doesn't look like much from the street. You will almost question if you are in the right place. Then you enter into a big open room with tables spread out nicely and music playing. Then you order the food, I recommend the Al pastor, and you wait hardly any time at all. All of their tacos I have tried have been excellent. Reasonably priced. Man the food is awesome. Fresh, many flavors that blend together perfectly. Honestly my favorite place for Tacos in the Tyler area. I think if they were located centrally they would have a hard time keeping up with demand. Simple, fresh, tasty at a great price. If you are driving by on I-20 and need a quick bite, stop here. If you are going to the state park, eat here, if you are in the mood for great tacos, eat here.

Yelp
Got here today after recomendations from friends. I had 3 tacos, Trompo, Mahi Mahi, & Carnitas. I ordered Trompo, I let the waitress choose the other 2 for me. I had a bottle of Tamarindo and chips/salsa (they were all out of most of the the other appetizers). This was Sunday, post-church. There was a large family there, about 10-15 @ 1 table. They seemed obnoxiously Texan, so I ate outside. Eating outside went well, but by taco #3, the flies swarmed in. The chips/Salsa were great-although the salsa was just 2 of those tiny jello-shot cups, so it didn't last. Still, good salsa- a little too watery for me, but plenty of cilantro. I would have liked more, a 1/2 cup, at least. Good, thin chips. Tacos ranged from good to great. Mahi-Mahi was a little dry, but came with plenty of sauce to counter that. Carnitas was also good. Trompo was amazing- maybe SLIGHTLY heavy on the pineapple, making a little TOO sweet, but this will be my go-to taco whenever I eat @ C Rojo's. And I will be eating @ C Rojo's again. Overall, I dig the place. Here are the pros/cons- PROS- -FOOD. Lack of decor, so the focus is on the food. And it shows! -Ingredients seem REALLY fresh. Maybe that's why certain apptizer were off the menu? -Decent sized tacos. 3 tacos w/ an appetzer or chips/salsa is plenty. -right off the I-20, plenty of parking. -inside/outside dining. I really dug the outside seating, but flies! -Food was Fast. Crazy fast. Almost TOO fast. I wanted to relax on the patio for a bit, but the food came too fast for that! CONS- -Needs more (thicker) salsa for the chips. -Lack of decor. Yes, it's a pro too, but inside/outside need about $2000 worth of decor. If they turned the right half of this place into a bar, it would liven the place up. -Lack of decor 2- likewise, outside dining overlooks old food trucks & broken down stuff. Hide that stuff and improve the view. -Needs a better online presence. This place is on the verge of being 'discovered', so check it out if you're nearby. So much potential! Like the first Torchy's or something. If you're nearby, it's worth skipping Posados/Cinco de Mayo in Lindale and driving here. As for me, I am just glad Lindale-area finally has a good MX place without having to drive into Tyler. IMO, Cinco de Mayo is Blah, and Posados is good but your typical gringo MX place. It's C Rojo's for me from now on.

Deborah R.

Yelp
Very nice, no frills place. Great service, accommodating to those with food allergies. Large menu and excellent food, all made from scratch.

Shelly K.

Yelp
Love this place. We were leaving Tyler going back North and came across this place. Very authentic Mexican Food. It's been difficult finding "Real Mexican Food". This is the real deal! I had the combo fajitas and they were amazing. My family had tacos and quesadilla, which were also good. Tortillas are grilled to perfection. Service was excellent.

Erin M.

Yelp
If you have not been to this place you need to run, not walk, and get here ASAP because their brussels sprout tacos and Rojo's queso are going to blow your mind. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They have a large menu with so many unique options.

Melissa K.

Yelp
We saw the story on TCR and thought we would drive down from Paris on Sunday for lunch. After driving up to restaurant we didn't know for sure if it was right place. Owners were nice. We looked over menu and ordered. I had Chicken Fajita, wife and daughter had Brussel Sprouts salad, son in-law ordered 3 tacos and we all had fruit juice.. Food was average but was priced very high. Total bill $147.89. I don't mind paying for good food but this was just overpriced.

Altland F.

Yelp
this place is insanely good! we come here everytime we are at Tyler state park and I haven't had one thing that's disappointed me.
