In NEED of Baklava!!
I had a request from my husband, he wanted to bring baklava to the Christmas get-together they were having at his work, so began my search.
I didn't want to drive up to Glendale or Downey, was hoping to find something more local. I googled baklava specifically, ended up here on Yelp, and one of the reviews mentioned the fantastic bakery and a passing statement about having baklava. Destination made, I headed over to check it out, and Corona is almost right next door.
The first thing that caught me was the incredibly fragrant aroma from the bakery. It is the first shop you pass as you enter from the parking lot. I made an immediate right into it, and was not displeased.
So many breads to select from, various cookies and baked goods, but especially, tray upon tray of baklava, large ones with 30 pieces of a variety of shapes and textures, and smaller trays that held maybe half the amount as the large. The price was reasonable for me, $20 for the large tray, CASH is easier, as a surcharge is added to a credit card purchase (same as what PayPal will do). I had cash.
The baklava was extremely flavorful and delicate, very very good! The number of pieces spread well among everyone, and very little was left to bring home.
I will be returning to check out the rest of the offerings of C-Town, but in the meantime, whenever we have a baklava craving (being Armenian), I know just the place to hit up, or to recommend!
