"The oldest tavern in Cape May is also the perfect rainy day destination, and not just because the lack of windows will make you forget the existence of weather. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need to see a menu. Climb onto a stool at the long wooden bar, order a Cape May IPA and the excellent wings—which come in a range of sauce options, from mild to garlic honey hot and Thai chili—and wait out the rain while you soak up some local flavor. This place is the best that Cape May has to offer when it comes to a economic restaurant with good food. Decorated like an old-time Irish pub, it offers a variety of good American food combined with seafood dishes. They have a vast variety of wines, beers and liquors and the service is spectacular. Brianna, our waitress, was super fast, efficient and friendly. A combination that can rarely be found in services. In short, C-View Inn may not be a fancy place, but in my humble opinion, if you want to have a good time enjoying a good meal without having to pay an arm and a leg for it, this is the best you can find for miles around. Note: You HAVE to try the lobster bisque!!!

I have been wanting to come here for over two years and finally made it. We arrived at a great time. Let me just say “timing is everything”, because this establishment quickly filled up. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere from the time we walked in to being greeted by “Gregg, the owner”. He greeted us with a smile and welcomed us for choosing his establishment. The vibes were of positive energy. Our server was great and she was very knowledgeable. The service she provided was awesome! Their menu is reasonably priced as well. Our food was at our table within moments of ordering. We enjoyed our food so much. When I visit Cape May area again, I’ll be sure to add this location to my stop. I loved everything about this restaurant and will return. If you have not been, please go. If this post is helpful…press the heart button

Google
Cozy little spot on a cold winter day! This bar was a lot of fun! Super busy with really nice staff and customers. I had the honey hot wings. The honey wings were super crispy with plenty of sauce! Highly recommend getting the wings next time you're in there!

Google

We've been going to C-View Inn for the last 8 years or so when we visit CM in the winter & we love it. It has a great local vibe. It's always crowded & cozy. It's a local bar/restaurant with comfort food such as burgers, wings, potato skins, etc. and good drinks. No matter how crowded it is, we've always had good service and have never felt rushed. In fact we were just there Wed. night & our server, Carly M. was fantastic. There's a parking lot on the side & street parking. The bad reviews are probably from people expecting that this place is a high end restaurant.

Google
Service was nice. Bartender made an excellent Long Island which isn’t easy to find. Crab cake was delicious

Google
Highly recommended for good quality food. All the food items ordered were very delicious and flavorful. Suggest to try their special of the day. Good Food Menu, Standard Price, affordable for common people. Place has both Veg/Non-Veg and good drinks options. The atmosphere was good, clean but congested. Not enough room for move around and it’s crowd tells it’s popularity in the town. Walls have historic pictures and adds value to this place. It has sports bar along with dine in option. Limited parking option at the back of the restaurant. Bit disappointed with the server, for delay in service and had long waiting time on the table to place the order. It’s busy time could be a reason but a better service was expected. But, it’s quality food takes priority over everything and given a choice I will revisit this place again.

C-View Inn in Cape May is over 106 years old, or so I read. Irish theme, very affordable menu, good drinks, fun dive bar environment. This is a fun spot to visit down here without breaking the bank. The C-View fries are delicious, so tasty we got 2 orders of them! The wings were very lightly breaded, almost naked, and I got the garlic hot sauce and a side of their "suicide" sauce. Spicy if you are sensitive to heat, but if you aren't, not too spicy at all. This spot gets 👍👍. Also, take a peek at the daily specials!!

Yelp
I just had a fantastic dinner with my family at the C View Inn! It has a small dining area but I loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was awesome and was very attentive to our needs throughout the meal. We all really enjoyed the food we ordered My sister, dad and I ordered the Lobster Bisque and it was soooo good! My sister and dad split mild buffalo wings; I got honey BBQ wings with ranch and they were shockingly crispy and so delicious; my brother got a bacon cheeseburger with loaded fries and loved it too! The only thing we didn't love was the potato skins -- they were okay but not the best we've had. Overall, I would definitely recommend the C View Inn and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
If you want delicious bar food at a great price CView will be your perfect choice. We went on a Thursday which is sliders night! 2.50 for a slider. They were delicious. Great beer selection and bartenders made good drinks.. another bonus for Cape May is it has a parking lot. Great Place

Sheila R.

Yelp
Neighborhood gem filled with locals. Absolutely amazing wings... and many different sauces. My bf had the garlic hot wings and wow... was the sauce delicious! Wings had very little fat and were very meaty. I got the buffalo sautéed shrimp which were very good. Only mediocre thing was the bar pie... was thinking of thin crust like Star tavern, but was more like a premade crust with sauce and tons of mozzarella! Can't wait to return to try a few more things. Prices very reasonable. Service definitely faster for locals, but we weren't in a rush!

Dee M.

Yelp
Great Locals spot that welcomes visitors. Reasonably priced drinks and entrees. Parking lot is tight and small so just plan ahead. Gets crowded during NFL games. Nice place for a low key meal or drink with a friend.

Helene T.

Yelp
Want to know what I heard when I asked, "Where do the locals go?" The C View Inn! Why? At dinner, the whole place was abuzz with chatter and laughing. The TVs played sports highlights and the bartender kept folks at the bar entertained! Friendly wait staff hustled to bring the food! We went on wings night and loved the garlic parm wings. At the C View join the locals to be "down the shore" and at a place where "everybody knows your name."

Cat M.

Yelp
Very rustic locals place. We were looking for a very casual option. Drink prices were fantastic! Prices at this place is like from the 80's. VERY reasonable prices! We shared 20 wings as I read al these great reviews about the wings - they were just OK because they were breaded & I dislike breaded wings. Would go back again & try other things. Very tight seating.

Yelp
I had a disappointing experience at this establishment. The waitress, who wore glasses, seemed unfriendly and even discussed us with her coworkers. It took her a while to check on us, and glad she did, the French fries she served us were cold, drinks were empty and meals were missing items. When I ordered my Guinness shown here, I had to go to the bar to get it myself she never came back. She spent much of her time chatting at the hostess station, instead of taking care of her customers.

Les L.

Yelp
Casual, comfortable and affordable corner sports bar with excellent meaty wings. Be prepared to wait during peak times.

Barry P.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar. Friendly staff. Good food and drink at reasonable prices. We sat at the bar for a casual dinner and the bartenders were personable and gave us great service.

Steven F.

Yelp
great!!!!!! this is the best town bar in Cape May! They have a great poor of Dennis and shots and a hometown tea! And the food is fucking awesome here

Sandy M.

Yelp
One of our favorite Cape May bars with great food. Great upbeat atmosphere and Guinness on tap. We went with the soup of the day, cream of crab, which a bit thick and not the best, a little lacking flavor. However the cheesesteak hoagie ( lettuce, tomato, raw onion and Mayo) was amazing as always, as were the onion rings. I don't know why it is so hard for places to get this right, but may I suggest a trek to The C View to look at theirs ? Ok, maybe the roll is a bit soft for a Philadelphia cheesesteak snob such as myself, but the beef and cheese more than make up for this misgiving. Service is fast and friendly, and prices are reasonable. We've been going to the C View for years and it sure was good to be back.

Melanie M.

Yelp
Dined on a Thursday around 2p. Quick service. Local beer selections. Food was typical bar food. Wings, cheesesteak, fries.

Jenny S.

Yelp
Local bar with great food, great drinks, service could be better... Good spot to watch football games

Mulhern M.

Yelp
Terrific locals joint. My friend and I were fortunate to have happened upon it. We'll be back

Yelp
Went there twice last week 9/9-9/12 while we were down for vacation. Monday night the 9th the hostess was rude and nasty. Did not care for her at all. Wish I got her name but she didn't have a name tag on. I mean I asked a question and she came back at me with a nasty response and making a face while saying it. The waitress was OK but seemed to be friends with the hostess and they kept talking and it took for ever to get our food. Thursday the 12 was a much better experience. Hostess was very pleasant and the waitress was as well. Always made sure we had everything we needed. Anytime we needed something she was right there. As for the food we got the wings and a pizza. Food was amazing. Wings cooked perfect and we asked for sauce on the side so you really tasted the wings. Pizza was great as well. So no companion the food at all.

Maria B.

Yelp
They use frozen pizza and their wings are big chicken knuckles that are dried out. Anything in Caoe May would be better!

Nick S.

Yelp
Best wings in the area, one of the few local places with reasonable prices. We come weekly and are never disappointed.

Robert G.

Yelp
Great fun bar with excellent food and drinks Wings are outstanding as are the cheesesteaks

Yelp
You can tell the staff works really hard. Solid wings and solid garden salad. Affordable/fair price. My boyfriend says "some of the best wings I've ever had in my life" (bbq and honey hot)

Mark H.

Yelp
I get it, they like their locals , but being rude to the rest of the world is not good business!!! Food was ok service was very slow.

Joe W.

Yelp
Waitress was horrible. 15 minutes for drinks. Forgot to bring our food. It's was cold. Never came back for anything. Had to go to hostess to get check. Wings barely had any sauce. Soda was flat!

Frank V.

Yelp
We the 4 of us were seated promptly on a crowded Monday night. As always the food was fresh and tasty and the beer was cold. Our waitress was great even on a busy night. We always drop in on vacation. We love c-view and we'll be back next vacation.

Nicholas V.

Yelp
Slightly below average food, soda was flat even after trying a coke and a sprite. Waitress is very slow and blonde waitress at the bar was even slower. Would not come back

Veronica L.

Yelp
Loved this bar/restaurant! The food is excellent, plentiful and very reasonable. Above all our waitress Gina was very pleasant and catered to our every request. I would recommend this to anyone who loves good food, service and reasonable prices. If I could give it 10 stars.

Jenny D.

Yelp
This is a great pub style restaurant with some pretty good daily specials. The drinks are affordable and the atmosphere fun. Service is quick and the homemade clam chowder is excellent. I would recommend the oldest pub in Cape May as a fun lunch spot.

Laura R.

Yelp
Had an enjoyable dinner on Wednesday Wing night. Had the wings, onion rings, pulled pork sandwich. Awesome wings!!!! Place was very busy so we had to wait for about 35 minutes. Our server was super great, friendly and attentive. I didn't catch her name, unfortunately. Great spot.

Tommy R.

Yelp
Wings and beer to wait for! Yes can't wait to go back. We have lived in the area for years and never made it down to the C View for wings even though we have been told they are the best. Well those people were not telling a fib. Now it's kinda small inside but that's fine it allows for good service from the staff. Everyone was friendly and our waitress took good care of us. It's a bar so it's not quiet but your not going to a romantic steakhouse dinner! I highly recommend the C View, for good food, friendly staff, and great drinks.

Teresa C.

Yelp
Great food at really reasonable prices in fun bar atmosphere frequented by locals! A go to for us in Cape May!

Jan B.

Yelp
The worst restaurant in town with the nastiest waitress ever. She was so rude and ugly to us. We got there at 10 o'clock at night on Thursday. There was just two of us two ladies. It was exactly 10 o'clock and we were told the grill was turned off and she was just so rude slammed our menus down. She said we only have fried foods or cold foods. And walked away. We had horrible pizza that had terrible sauce in relationships is really strange. I ordered fries which she told me she forgot and the kitchen was closed. No apologies nothing just thought it was too bad. I would never go back . BEWARE

Stephon M.

Yelp
The wings here are bomb!!!! Got some for takeout and they didn't disappoint. Fries were on..a bit on the heavy side. Wings traveled well to the brewery too.

Rose C.

Yelp
This is an old fashioned place. It reminded me of the old bars on corners of Philly in the fifties and early sixties. Local people, good food, pleasant surroundings. I had the day's special Tacos soft , hot and pretty good. Remember being here about 35 years ago with my late husband. Still the same ambiance, try it, you might spend time checking out the history hanging on the walls. A really cool place.

Lisa B.

Yelp
The C View is a great place to grab cheap eats. Very cute inside. Bartenders were friendly and fast. We loved the wings! The shrimp Cobb salad was very good. Portion was just right and shrimp were plentiful and freshly grilled. Good house wine too!

Marisa F.

Yelp
Mild wings were really good, next time i would definitely ask for extra sauce. the french onion soup was also delicious. i got a caesar salad as well and it was very fresh and tasty, however had very heavy dressing. all in all really great meal and would like to go back to try more menu items!

Shanna N.

Yelp
Food was good. Beware if you have a large group. We had a group of 11 people. We had five people arrive early to get a table. They would NOT seat anyone till everyone got there. Once all 12 of us got there they scrambled to get two tables set up, We asked for checks to be separate in the beginning and they said they would check and at end of meal split one couples and added everyone else's bill on one check. Server did end up splitting check and bill stated 18% gratuity but ended up to be over 30% due to computer glitch of splitting bills. Server bad-urged us saying we never told her and how she was loosing money. Next time just tell the customer you can not do it. It was a good experience till the end.

Judie K.

Yelp
Open late, good people and friendly staff. We came here because most places were already closed. Had some pizza and a salad. Good vibes.

Michael C.

Yelp
Excellent lunch at this historic stop..great prices as well .wings we're delicious..with all 3 sauces.

Global M.

Yelp
My go to is the honey bbq wings which are amazing. Best I have ever had. However, their fries are subpar and onion rings greasy. Definitely a good place for a super bowl party or to get your wing fix in cape may.

Diane T.

Yelp
We always enjoy this restaurant whenever we come to CM. The honey garlic wings are the best as well as for other good menu choices. The beer specials of the day are great, too! Nice old charm atmosphere! Our disappointment the other night was my husbands's entree of beer battered fish and chips. It was like a like a child's size entree. When we mentioned it to our waitress: she said this is my second week here and I don't know abt that! That's not the response to give your customer! At least apologize and offer..... let me see what I can do for you! The hostess should wear a.smile when greeted as well! That's a customers first contact....she didn't crack one smile our entire time there. If you're not happy at this job.... Move on and find something else!

Vicki E.

Yelp
Great food and service at reasonable prices! We had their ribs special and brought friends back for their wings special.

James P.

Yelp
I am delighted to say that I found my delicious Chicken Parm sandwich on a kaiser roll. It was perfect!

Sue S.

Yelp
Old fashion seashore bar and restaurant. Love it here. Food great. Servers and fellow customers friendly. Parking surrounding Inn available.

Steven J.

Yelp
Grossly negligent in customer service! Waiting for twenty minutes to receive drinks during off season and a 16 person head count is unacceptable. Greeted with hostility from the waitress and observed/heard trash talking from the waitress about my family. After hearing numerous times from co workers that c view is the place to go in cape may for active duty service members it's so unfortunate to experience this type of service. I will do my best to share my experience with my peers and non locals. This will be my last time visiting and referring friends to this establishment. Stay safe P.S. there is NO "wait to be seated sign" but you BETTER wait!!!

Mike R.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and finally getting to my review ..... In my opinion, it's the best place on the cape island for food and drink....great prices...The place reminds me of a small British Pub.... old style dark wooden bar....tile floors...dim lights and a great friendly crowd along with the staff.....They do have their weekly specials every day and they are priced right and delicious!!! never had a bad meal yet...and best of all...PBR every day for $2.50...nice and cold

Seth P.

Yelp
Hyped a "wing nite." What we didn't know is that the wings are BREADED, which would would be a no-go in any wing fan's book. If you like wings, don't go here. If you like KFC style breaded chicken, come on in. Sauce good, service fine. But no self-respecting wing connoisseur would eat these Hooters wings. Look elsewhere.

Jason C.

Yelp
C View was one of our favorites during our visit to Cape May. We didn't anything too fancy, but the quality and value were way above average. Our fried fish sandwich and burger were just right (crispy fresh fish, juicy burger). Loved the chips and fries too.

Bob D.

Yelp
Great experience at the C-view as they accommodated our large party of 13. Ariel was a very attentive and friendly server. The hot garlic and buffalo wings were top tier. Chowder was hearty.

John D.

Yelp
Great local place with really good wings. Had a grouper sandwich for lunch that was simple but very good. Would absolutely go back.

Carlos J.

Yelp
I stopped in here with my sister, her husband, and my nephew's girlfriend on the 7th after flying in from Texas and Arizona for my nephews graduation from CG boot camp. The service was excellent and so was the food. The place had a really good vibe, and it was the epitome of a cozy neighborhood bar. If you're close, pay them a visit. You'll like it. Promise. We stopped in again the next night, with my nephew this time. Again, I really enjoyed it.
