"Surrounded by verdant landscapes, this attractive restaurant with a pleasant outdoor dining space is functional in style due to the use of simple materials such as wrought iron and wood, and as such boasts a distinctly minimalist style. A continual quest for cuisine that is both contemporary and rustic in flavour is reflected in owner-chef Vezzani’s reinterpretation of local recipes, which he enhances with interesting combinations and produce grown in the restaurant’s own biodynamic kitchen garden. The restaurant offers five surprise tasting menus: “Gli Intramontabili” (a tribute to the region, often with pairings of the best Lambrusco wines), “Oltremare” (inspired by the sea), “Terramadre” (a regional focus), “Cielo” (a journey between land and sea), and “Hortus” (vegetarian), all of which demonstrate a playful use of flavours and combinations with a keen focus on seasonal ingredients." - Michelin Inspector

I’ve been to many Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, but this one was definitely the best value for money I’ve ever experienced. We had the “Heaven” menu, and every course was delicious, varied, and surprising—exactly what you expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The downside was definitely the sommelier, who barely spoke English, and the wine pairing itself was not very good. That said, €60 for the pairing is at least very cheap. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant—just skip the pairing and choose a good bottle yourself. Bay the way; a non alcoholic pairing would have been great.

We booked a lunch at this remote but beautifully located restaurant. It was well worth the drive to get there. The building is modern with a rustic flare, so beautiful. The service was spectacular. The food was everything and more to expect from a Michelin Restaurant. Every plate was a work of art, with flavors that were unique and so delicious. The wine list is of course superb. And the chef went out of his way to accommodate certain food preferences. Our best meal in Italy!

Last night we experienced Ca’ Matilde for the first time based on a personal recommendation, and it did not disappoint. We chose the vegetable menu and it was simply amazing. I don’t usually post reviews but this was so good I felt compelled to share our experience. Our evening started with a peaceful walk through their beautiful vegetable garden while sipping a glass of Lambrusco. Then we sat on the outside patio and were served the memorable “Hello from the kitchen” — a starter platter of beautiful small bites that were creative and oh-so scrumptious. The courses kept coming and we had difficulty deciding which was our favorite. Each course was unique and beautiful in presentation, and the depth of flavor is difficult to describe here. It became evident early on why it earned a Michelin star rating— it’s a dining experience for the senses. We want to thank the owner, Marcella, for ensuring we received top notch service the entire time we were there, and compliments once again to Chef Andrea for serving us a meal we will always remember.

We have just spent a few days at Ca’Matilde during the Christmas period whilst visiting family in the region. Our stay was made exceptional by Marcella, who as usual welcomed us with the best hospitality one could wish for. The food at the restaurant is delicious and interesting and showcases the regional food and vegetables from their garden, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is just the best way to start the morning. We will definitely be coming back!

Our favourite restaurant. The food is delicious, the wine list has all the options you’ll ever need, the personal is attentive, the service is superb. Marcella and the team are pulling all the stops.

A typical farmhouse set amidst busy farmland producing some of the best produce in Italy, this place houses a Michelin-starred restaurant and offers a few rooms. ||||Drinks before dinner came with the most delicious parmesan I've tasted. Our dinner was excellent - the chef's take on the region's traditional food, with good Parma ham, a wonderful aubergine tarte tatin served with chocolate and cardamom ice cream and ginger, good ravioli, delicious risotto wrapped in pancetta, interesting pork, and a deconstructed zuppa inglese. The wine was also excellent, and service charming and helpful.||||The rooms are a little basic, reasonably comfortable but perhaps a little stark. Breakfast was disappointing given the resources of the kitchen - great coffee and apple juice, some fresh fruit and creme fraiche, but the bread and croissants were not fresh and rather poor, and the jams in little hotel-sized commercial pots. A little more effort is required if you are offering rooms attached to such a good restaurant.

We visited Locanda Ca' Matilde last month staying 2 nights, our second stay there but not our last! We had dinner at Matilde on the terrace both evenings. Wonderful experiences! Their "secret" taste menus are awesome, interesting flavors and the portions are of right size. It's the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. Last, but not least, the service is outstanding! The couple running the place is adorable. Greetings from Ethel and Anders!

Very passionate and creative cuisine in this countryside area between Parma and Reggio. The chef has got his own botanical garden, so I advise to try the Vegetarian menu. The personnel is very kind and the place is nice too, especially during spring and summer where you can eat outside.
